My wife and I came here for a last minute breakfast date and were really glad we did. Bluestone Lane Cafe ended up being a great find. The space itself is awesome. Very vibey with great decor and a lot more seating options than we expected. Indoor seating outdoor patio and some quieter tucked away spots if you want to relax or get some work done. The staff was also super welcoming right when we walked in which always sets the tone. We both ordered the iced blueberry matcha and it was really good. The presentation was beautiful and the flavor was on point. Creamy matcha with just the right amount of blueberry sweetness and not overpowering at all. The only small note would be that it had a bit too much ice so next time I would definitely ask for light ice but overall we were very happy with it. For food I ordered the tomato bisque and it honestly exceeded expectations. Perfect portion size very creamy and the tomato flavor was smooth and not too acidic. Paired with the sourdough it was exactly what I was hoping for and easily a ten out of ten tomato soup for me. I also ordered the BL brekkie. The bacon was thick cut and very crispy which I loved. The poached eggs were cooked perfectly with a nice runny yolk. The only thing I adjusted was removing the mushrooms and some of the arugula as that combo was not quite for me but once I did that it was much better and I still enjoyed the dish overall. My wife ordered the turkey club and loved it. The sandwich was huge and ended up being a take home situation. It also came with a great sized salad. We asked about the vinaigrette and the staff was super kind and brought some out right away. Overall this is a great breakfast and brunch spot with good food great service and a relaxed atmosphere. Being close to the Orange Circle makes it even better while still feeling a little removed from the crowds. Definitely recommend and we will be back.
I'd give this place double starts of I could, just for the service alone. The did was great. We ordered the Truffle Mushroom Grilled Cheese and the Prosciutto, the Burrata Sandwich, the Blueberry Pancakes, the Pumpkin Coldbrew, and an iced latte. Everything was great. The food was fresh, delicious, and came out rather quickly. The drinks were made great. The Pumpkin coldbrew was a little heavy on the cold foam, which honestly I did not notice. It was our server, Maddie, who commented such, and offered to bring a side of coldbrew to help balance it. Very thoughtful and I truly appreciate her for that. And speaking of Maddie, I have to say that her service was nothing but amazing. From the very beginning, she was so friendly and welcoming. She was the cherry on top of our experience. And, her latte art, superb 👌
I got the Truffle mushroom grilled cheese sandwich and an ice oat latte and shared blueberry pancakes with my husband. The sandwich was so flavorful and grilled to perfection, the latte was delicious and the pancakes were fluffy and not overly sweet. I want to give a shout out to our server, Maddie, who was so, SO sweet ever since she stepped outside in the patio where we were sitting! She truly made our day special! Btw, her latte art is so cute!! We appreciate you!
We had such an amazing experience here! The service was exceptional — we never had to ask for anything because they already had everything under control. You can tell the staff truly enjoys their work; they’re young, attentive, and make you feel genuinely cared for. The food was absolutely delicious, and the whole atmosphere made us feel so welcome. Highly recommended!
Popped into Bluestone at Old Towne for brunch and had the best time! Kento and Jordan went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We felt taken care of from start to finish. The food was a 10/10, but the service? Definitely a 12/10. And don’t even get me started on the ambiance. Absolutely beautiful. Such a perfect spot for a brunch date with my husband. Can’t wait to come back 🤍✨
Morning vibes at Bluestone Lane Café? Absolutely delightful! The high ceilings and wood tables give off major cozy feels, the food is great, we had the Blueberry pancakes with honey and egg, cheese croissant with bacon, pure joy! And the lattes and coffee? Top-notch! The latte art? Too gorgeous to drink! Bre was our waitress, she is a great barista and made our day so much brighter. We'll be back for more deliciousness!
The beverages are very good. The restaurant is overall very clean and nice. The service is outstanding. But the pancakes don’t taste as excellent as other food, still the food looks great for photos. Overall it is a really good restaurant, come if you have a chance!
I ordered their house favorite Avocado smash; it’s an elevated avocado toast and I loved every bite (a hint of spice and topped with smoked salmon) Kept me full through dinner. Their iced latte and warm chicken and ancient grains weren’t anything too special but still much better than others. We all loved their honey drizzled banana bread with strawberries and whipped ricotta! Came here for late lunch to celebrate a friend’s birthday. People started trickling down by the time we came (1-2pm) so we almost had the place to ourselves, the crew warmly accommodated us the entire time. It was pure pleasure being welcomed in and served by Tyler. We also loved the Australian themed interior. It didn’t feel like we were at the middle of downtown OC. Place was bright and clean. There is an outside patio where most people dined. It did take us a while to find parking, so be ready to walk a couple of blocks away.
Fabulous Australian cafe. Great coffee and delicious food. Waitstaff were incredibly kind. Open, bright and relaxing atmosphere. The manager comped my meal simply because we had a nice chat and I told him I was Australian. I highly recommend this place!!
The coffee is my favorite part of this place. The flavors are great from just the coffee to the vanilla to the mocha. We had breakfast there Sunday morning at it was definitely crowded but the wait time was not bad at all. It was a true 30 minutes and if you have ever had to wait for breakfast at the orange circle, you know that is fast and efficient. My recommendation is to order coffees to go on the app while you wait to dine in. We had the BL Burrito and it was fantastic. The potato wedges are amazing but I was a little disappointed on the portion of the side dish. We also had their cookie and chocolate croissant and the texture of both were perfect. PARKING is absolutely horrendous for any restaurant at the Orange Circle. Be prepared to walk a block and don’t bother fighting for the parking spots in the parking lots, it will add 30 minutes to your adventure. Park I. The structure off of Lemon st. OR drive South on Olive st. and park in the neighborhood. It is not permit parking over there but avoid the orange fire hydrants even though the curb is not red. Enjoy your coffee
We love it here! The food is good, the coffee the best in town, and the service is superb. I recommend the BL Burrito.Everyone that works here is amazing and kind and genuinely friendly. We greatly appreciate Julie as she always remembers our oder and puts it in before we sit down. She is super kind and welcoming and loves talking to our dog! All of the staff is also superb and the manager, Kento, will do everything he can to make your experience special. The interior is really cute and the outdoor seating is, too. We bring our dog and they have water for him and are very dog friendly.
Aussie Aussie 🦘 ☕ 🔵 Blue 🪨 Stone Lane 🧭 Coffee ☕ in Old Towne 🍊 Orange on S. Olive 🫒 Street has incredible Australian 🦘 Beans 🫘 & Style! Food is refreshing & high quality. Setting is very relaxing...Luv the patio. Great people watching spot w/ lots of sunshine ☀️ or shade. Located just 1 block within historical district of Old Towne 🍊 Circle Plaza ⏺️ Australian themed attitude & atmosphere. We really digg patio with lots of shade & provides a slower "moment in time." Staff is kind & coffee ☕ options r so pure. Pastry's & entree's r Yummy & healthy! Highly Recommend! bSafebHappybWell 🤙
Great service, I think the male manager or owner took our order. The female barista made me a great coffee(didn't see names) and this had to be the most perfectly made croissant EVER filled with super fresh fruit. Very chill quick service plenty of open seats, we sat outside and people watched while eating our food.
Bluestone Lane is one of our favorite spots for great coffee and food. Excellent healthy breakfast, lunch choices, smoothies, too. We always get service with a friendly smile. My wife and I have been visiting regularly here for almost 2 years and love to eat on their cozy patio. Parking can sometimes be a challenge, but the short walk is definitely worth it! Brad and Chris
Just WOW!✨ An absolute treasure indeed! Just swinging by for a mid-week date in the circle and stop in this place! Seriously is our new favorite spot! Definitely a must try! The coffee was superb so delightful and refreshing. The chai tea was just perfect not to sweet not to tart. Food was a 10/10! Potatoes wedges are the best in town!
Always a 10/10 at Bluestone! 👏🏽 I first discovered this place on a work trip last year & then on that same trip this year I made it my first stop after arriving in town. Kento was my server both times and remembered me a year later! ☕️ The care, intention, and personal connection Kento and team put into guests (new & regulars) makes this place truly stand out. After a little hiccup with my order, Kento comped my breakfast which was above and beyond because I still received a delicious meal that met my nutritional requirements. 💚 Not to mention their espresso drinks are smooth, consistently delicious, and full of flavor. And, their gluten free food options are more accessible than most places - including both sweet and savory choices. Already looking forward to my next visit with Kento and the Bluestone team! ✨🍴
Absolutely love this place! The atmosphere is great, the coffee is always on point, and the staff are super friendly. Shoutout to Kento—he’s always super welcoming. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!
I love Bluestone!! They have such great coffee, smoothies, and food. Always so kind! Also great atmosphere to be with friends family and even to study. Kenton is always there to greet you with a smile and great service! Definitely recommend.
Bluestone Lane is such a cute little cafe! The food is amazing and the patio is perfect for a warm day. My server Rachel went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of and that our food came out in a timely manner. No complaints!
This place is an absolute gem! Been here 10+ times & it’s always a good experience which is rare to find. The atmosphere is cozy & welcoming. A special shoutout to their potato wedges - perfectly crispy topped with flaky salt. So random lol but I’m obsessed with them. Their matcha drinks are also so good (strawberry or lavender). The manager, Kento, is both professionalism & warm. Kento goes above and beyond to ensure everything is perfect, and makes us feel so valued as customers. It’s rare to find such good service AND good food/drinks!
Came here to study for midterms, stayed for the vibes. Staff is so nice and very quick. Atmosphere is calm and store is aesthetic. Coffee was yum
Julie & Maddie are the best!! Appreciate their great attitudes & exceptional customer service and they are FUN!
I never leave reviews, but I just decided to stop into Bluestone lane today while walking around downtown Orange Circle, as I had never been. The atmosphere was so nice and I was right away greeted by Kento, who was extremely friendly and warm. I got an iced vanilla latte to go which was creamy and a 10/10 in my book. Thanks Kento for friendly conversation and delicious coffee. I’d recommend you go check it out, they also had a sourdough bread class going when I walked in. I’ll be going back next time I’m in town.
What a fantastic vibe! Appropriate of Old Towne Orange. It’s relaxing, easy going, with a pleasant and interesting aesthetic. My wife and I came here today for Saturday lunch. I met Kento and Jordan and they gave us great service. They were kind, knowledgeable, and checked on us often to make sure we were having a great experience. We each ordered the BL Burrito and an iced Matcha Latte. Simple and well-made. I would love to return again and explore both drinks and food!
The staff here are some of the nicest in the area. They're super accommodating. You can eat inside or outside and everything is good
Love this cafe! The atmosphere is amazing, from kind workers, great decor, to top notch food and drinks, i cant get enough! Julie makes a fab latte and you can tell the chefs cook with love. I recommend the granola or pancakes. Kento also is so hospitable, i love It! 1000/10 can’t wait to come back for the banana matcha!!!
This is the best coffee shop in Orange County. The environment is cozy, the music a vibe, and the employees are welcoming and kind. In fact, they keep paying for my coffee! Seriously. I stroll in with a book, order a vanilla latte, read for a few hours, walk up to pay the tab, and they say it’s covered! Some of the kindest people you’ll meet. I’m not saying they’ll pay for your meals and drinks. You just gotta experience it for yourself. Maybe bring a book and stay a while.
10/10 experience every time! I started coming here for my coffee after receiving a gift card and I was shocked to see what I had been missing out on, the atmosphere is so charming and the food is amazing, personally I also really appreciate how they make their drinks consistent, everyone knows how it is when you get your daily coffee and you can tell just by the color it’s not made the same lol but here they never miss!! The people here are also very nice and welcoming, always have a smile on their face and very accommodating, especially Kento, he is usually there every time I visit ands always very friendly and talkative :)
By far the best Bluestone Lane location of the ones I've been to, and a gem on the Orange Circle. We take our family, kids, and meet friends here all the time. Many times I just take my older toddler here for a "classy" kid's breakfast. Food is top notch and a lot of care is put into the presentation and service. Dishes both look and taste good. The staff at this location are particularly excellent, all of them outstanding but especially BRI who is the very best and in a class her own-they're lucky to have her. Always kind, conscientious, remembers our order, great humor, treats our kids and us with kindness and respect, cares about our order being perfect, keeps things running sharply, and is extremely professional and could likely run the place. Additionally all the other staff and management have always been so good to us. I have not had a single dish disappoint us here and the coffee is really really good, especially the cappuccino which I love and the "babyccino" for my toddler which makes him feel like a grown up. Definitely try the chili scramble with avocado! Also the food comes on time, drinks are made with care, and the place is sparkling clean. Thanks for many wonderful visits!
What a wonderful addition to old town orange. Food was wonderful and the service was amazing. The two young ladies who helped up worked crazy hard with over 20 plus people for lunch at one point. Owner a little help please before you lose excellent help.
Had a great experience here this weekend! Bree was our server/barista and was fantastic! Our experience was so good that we came back 3 days in a row! She makes the best lattes with the coolest art. Highly recommend this place.
⸻ I’ve always loved Blue Stone Lane, and after visiting both the Orange and San Clemente locations multiple times, I can honestly say this café continues to raise the bar. The Orange location especially deserves a shoutout—every time I visit, I leave in a better mood than I arrived. Today, I was lucky enough to be helped by Kento, who was not only welcoming but genuinely kind and attentive, as always! He sets the tone for the whole team, and it shows. Jordan, Madi, and Maggie were all equally wonderful—warm, efficient, and clearly passionate about what they do. It’s rare to find such consistent service that feels personal yet effortless. Between the beautiful atmosphere, consistently great food and coffee, and this incredible team, Blue Stone Lane has become one of my absolute favorite places to spend time. Highly, highly recommend!
Amazing hospitality! From the moment you walk in, Kento and the staff are there to serve you. Amazing attitudes amongst all the staff and a warm friendliness that makes you feel at home. Food and coffee were also amazing of course. Avocado toast was on point and coffee tasted like nicer, craft coffee. They've made regulars out of me and our party!
Their drinks are always so good, I love the combination of flavors. It is not the strongest matcha but the drinks are still so good. I had it with toast and that was so yummy too! The people today there were so nice and lovely.
The Matcha is very good and I also recommend the avocado toast
*UPDATE* This place is great! Friendly staff. Great and amazing food! I highly recommend the Breakfast Burrito or the Avocado Toast. Coffee is great. This place is absolutely wonderful. *** Update----> I have been here several times on and off for about 3 years now... Still ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️... This place is on point. Parking is crap but that's Orange for you. Park on the structure nearby, it's 1 street over. This place is worth it. Staff and food and drink are well above the bar that has been set. This place is a must go to. Highly recommend.
This coffee spot is a gem! The outdoor space is perfect—spacious, inviting, and ideal for soaking up the sun with a great cup of coffee. The coffee is absolutely delicious, with rich, bold flavors that hit the spot. The food is equally impressive, and the prosciutto burrata sandwich is a standout—it’s a must-try! The only downside is parking, which can be a bit of a hassle. But honestly, the incredible food, coffee, and ambiance more than make up for it. Highly recommend stopping by!
THE PERFECT BREAKFAST ! My wife and I are big fans of Bluestone Lane particularly the cafe locations where we can enjoy expertly cooked bacon & eggs. We headed out early on Sunday morning to have breakfast at this cafe which opens at 7.30am. After parking our wheels in a free street parking spot close by we walked inside around 7.40am. Super friendly Bri the cashier / barista remembered us from our previous visit a few months ago and gave us a very warm welcome. And we were the early birds.....the only customers. FIRST UP ! We asked Bri for 2 x Cappuccinos with 2% milk. Bri bought them to our table a few minutes later. HOW GOOD ! Our rich creamy cappuccinos tasted as good as it gets. FOOD ! We both decided on the BL Big Brekkie ( avocado smash on toasted multigrain served with 2 poached eggs, smoked bacon, roasted tomatoes, field mushrooms & baby kale )....mine with hard poached eggs and my wife asked for scrambled. Plus I asked Bri for a Cold Pressed Orange Juice. Our breakfast order arrived in a few short minutes and looked spectacular. My eggs were hard poached perfectly and the crispy bacon was super delicious. My wife's scrambled eggs looked delicately fluffy. We noticed Chef Edgar come out of the kitchen so we complimented him on our fabulous breakfast dishes. My cold pressed orange juice tasted very good...better than I expected as I usually only order fresh squeezed orange juice when we are out and about. Before we left we ran into Kento the manager....a super nice guy who looks after a number of locations. BUGGER ! I sure which they had some Aussie Lamingtons like the New York, NY cafes do. EXPECT THE BEST !
Bluestone Lane is definitely my favorite restaurant in the circle! The service here is top notch, especially from Caitlin! She is always attentive and friendly, and never fails to make my family and I smile. I would definitely recommend getting the breakfast bowl (add bacon) and a vanilla latte. Cannot recommend enough.
Really great addition to the many wonderful food options in Old Towne Orange. I've been during the weekday lunch rush and also weekend breakfast/brunch. Food is always delicious, but just be prepared for longer waits during popular times - expected of course. Love their Brekkie all day options, and the potato wedges that come with many dishes are amazing. I highly recommend the breakfast sandwich and breakfast burrito!
Wow. Blown away! Planned to go to another spot round the corner that also has locations in Vegas and Laguna, and we knew it was good. But… the line. So we mapped what was nearby and found Bluestone and I cannot recommend it enough!! Inventive and delicious, fresh menu. Fabulous unique coffee beverages. Beautiful relaxed, beachy atmosphere inside and out. Great service. Blows away their nearby chain competition that everyone knows so well. I’m telling you, chose Bluestone every time! You will be thrilled! Pictured avocado smash w salmon and green baked eggs. Fabulous! On tap oat flat white (not pictured)… best cold coffee drink ever. Yummy all around!
Always such a great atmosphere. The food and service is outstanding. This is literally my favorite place to go whether I get a strawberry Matcha drink or my mushroom grilled cheese. I’m never disappointed. Great great service.
This was my first time here and I was pleasantly surprised!! The decor is super cute and it is clean inside. There is a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating. Our waiter, Tyler, was extremely friendly and gave us the best service. He radiated the best energy!! We ordered the athlete burrito, bl burrito, and blate. The potato wedges had the perfect amount of flaky salt and was super crispy. I ordered the blate and it had a good balance of avocado, bacon, eggs, and arugula. I would highly recommend coming here!
The coffee here is literally so good (it looks like they use their own beans) and the vibe was modern and cozy - perfect to catch some sun since the inside gets sunlight or you can enjoy the front patio. I will definitely be back here many more times to try all of their drinks since a lot of people were ordering various juices and lattes. I got the Brekkie Board as well and really enjoyed it since I was looking for a tasty yet clean and healthy meal. There was a slight hiccup with our order but the staff was extremely friendly and went above and beyond for us. Had a great experience here and am so happy to live close by to this cute hidden gem!
I love Bluestone Lane! Feels like I'm in Australia! Love the smoothies, coffee and food. This location is especially beautiful. To me, the vibe and aesthetics of a café are important in addition to the food & coffee. Uriel was especially kind, warm and welcoming. I highly recommend!
This Australian owned restaurant location has a nice atmosphere, very clean and has lots of tables. The food was delicious! We ordered from their brekkie all day menu and tried their Folded Chimichurri eggs & bacon toast and B.L.A.T.E. with some of their coffees. They also have vegetarian items on their menu and their foods lean on the healthier side. I thought their coffee was quite strong but tasted good. We ordered their Flat White and Mocha. Lastly, servers are very attentive and efficient.
This place is so darling!!! A couple people I know have told me about and I was finally able to stop by. My friend and I shared the lemon ricotta pancakes and the vegetarian brekkie and it was so good!!! The barista behind the bar (Ishea) did such a good job on our matcha lattes and the art on top was just the icing on the cake!!! This is definitely my new hangout spot!
Always been a fan of BL and have been to multiple locations… but Abbey at the Orange location cemented herself as the best employee I’ve ever had the pleasure of speaking with. What a delight!
Imagine a world where every coffee shop knows how to make a perfect breve flat white, that place is New Zealand and Australia. Bluestone brings the Aussie vibe in spades with their perfectly balance flat white. The look and feel of the place is perfect for Old Towne Orange! All of the staff is super friendly and my breakfast sandwitch was delicious. Aussie Aussie Aussie!!
I just ate here for the first time! Absolutely delicious! I struggled to pick what to eat because the choices looked good. I had the burrito which was phenomenal. I went with four other ladies who equally enjoyed their selections. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was cute. I cannot recommend this place enough.
Breakfast here is unreal. The avocado toast is some of the best I have ever had. Also the service is awesome. Julie was helping us out and was on top of everything. Gave us options and made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend.
My boyfriend and I went here a day ago now and all we can say is great things! The staff is super friendly, and they’re also honest in their responses to questions about the menu, as well as knowledgeable overall on the menu. As far as the interior design this location feels both cozy, modern, and refined. The food is great, from our experience you truly can’t go wrong with any of the options and the coffee options are wonderfully thought out too. We ordered some sides and their spin on Cortado (listed as Magic on the menu) and shared an almond croissant. What made our experience so special is everyone on staff! And of course the food. In short -we will be going back!:)
Came in for lunch. The food was good, the quality of ingredients was great. The service was slow. There's a sign that says "Wait here to be seated," but the hostess just asked us to grab a menu and seat ourselves. It took a while to get water and order taken even though the place wasn't that busy. After the food was dropped off the waitress never checked up on us or provided us any take out boxes until I had to get to the counter and requested it. Hopefully service will improve if I ever return.
Very nice place to eat, server and owner? Both very nice. Food was good. In my top 3 Breakfast Burritos, that's saying a lot as I have had many BBs from many different places.
Overall decent and I would certainly come again. The gentleman working the outside when I visited was helpful and courteous. Food was good and so was the coffee. The lemon ricotta pancakes were delicious. Though I do think it would have been even better if the actual pancakes were also made from ricotta.
I find this location to be quite satisfactory. The cuisine is notably good. Overall, the experience is pleasant and meets expectations without being overly extravagant.
Great place to work at during the week while getting some pretty good coffee. Their espresso has a nice, smoky taste that I like so I get the long black most of the time; my wife likes their chai and others have liked their cold brews as well. I had their mocha once and was not particularly impressed though. Their pastries are pretty good - especially their danish and the chocolate croissant. Try the latter without heating up - it's even better! The food is expensive and a little bland (but I guess healthy huh) for what you get though, just be forewarned. They have a nice app from which I love ordering ahead and excellent loyalty program - but for some reason it won't even appear on Google Play Store anymore and I have lost it since updating my phone. C'est la vie!
I really liked their truffle mushroom grilled cheese. It had a nice flavor and the sourdough bread was the perfect pairing to the melted cheese. I was less impressed with their soft chili scramble with avocado. Food was a bit cold and the flavors weren't hitting all that well. The lemon ricotta pancakes were pretty good as well. Also tried their mocha which was decent. Overall, I'd come back, but wouldn't make it a point to.
This place was pretty good. We stopped in for a late lunch and we had a BF burrito and spiced chicken wrap and they were good, but nothing revolutionary. Not a bad place to stop in once in a while.
Went here with a friend on Thursday morning around 10 am. The shop was pretty empty when we got there, two other parties were there. We ordered our food and it took 45 minutes to come out. I got the breakfast bowl with no feta. When it was brought out the egg was cold and there was feta on the underside of my avocado! I'm guessing they made it wrong the first time, remade my plate, and just transferred the egg and avocado from one plate to another? Maybe that's why it took so long too. I didn't end up enjoying my plate so much. The atmosphere was nice and coffee was delicious. I can see coming back for the coffee!
Man this place just sucks. I want to like it so much and I've been twice and every time has been a disappointment. Food takes forever to come out, I don't know what weird kitchen situation is going on back there but the food take forever to come out and this time it wasn't even hot it was barely warm which makes no sense. I had the grosses pancakes ever. Like how do you mess up pancakes?! They were dry and dense like they forgot the baking powder or something. For $15 I had to speak up and asked if I could order something different. They seemed inconvenienced by this and a manager brought put my replacement order and rolled his eyes when he walked away as my friend mentioned. It's so cute looking inside but this place is a no for me 👎
First time visiting this chain. We arrived around noon on a Sunday and were immediately seated. We found this restaurant via the inkind app. If you are using inkind funds, remember to order on Bluestone's website and pay, do not order with your server. Food and drinks arrived timely. We had truffle and pasteami sandwiches, lemon ricotta panckaes and their quinoa saald. Food was all great. Sandwiches came with just regular store bought chips. Potato wedges available for upgrades and we should have done that. Service was average. Server took our order and brought us food. Water glasses were not clean.
We decided to give this place a second try, last time was when they had just opened up and the wait time for our food was really long and the food was at best ok. This time, we were seated within 5 minutes on a Sunday afternoon. We ordered our drinks, water and a decaf coffee. When the server came around to get our food order, the drinks had not yet arrived. At this time around 10 minutes had passed. After a few more minutes, the water arrived; no coffee. I decided to go wash my hands. Upon waiting at the restrooms, I noted a few things could benefit from a clean towel and cleaner. Upon entering the restroom on the left I noticed it was a little hard to figure out how to lock it, and wondered if it infact stayed locked. But; it was the state of the actual restroom that had me pause. I exited and waited to use the second restroom instead. Only to be equally disappointed. The toilets - both of them - cannot have been inspected for cleanliness at all that day. Decided to just wash my hands like intended, but although there was soap; no towels were present, trash cans full. It was at this point I decided that I could not stomach to eat anything coming out of this kitchen - if this is how the surfaces that the customer sees look like. The overall design of the place is nice, and the menu offerings are enticing to try, but again - not clean. Arriving back at our table- still no coffee. We decided to move on and left.
Went in this morning at 10am. The place was not packed but seemed they were short staffed for waiters and/or waitresses. We were told 20 min wait but waited for over 30. After we were seated it took a while for the waitress to take our order. She was nice but seemed to have the whole inside by herself. I ordered the green baked eggs, black coffee and the beet latte. The food was good (toast was burnt and baked eggs were like hard boiled eggs but still tasty) and the beet latte was surprisingly delicious. I wanted to love this place but was underwhelmed especially due to staffing. Also bathrooms were very dirty and the door lock was broken.
This restaurant does not have a changing table in their restroom so I had to change my boy in his stroller. It was uncomfortable for me and the other guests. You’d think a family restaurant would have a changing pad since guests come with their babies. I hope they invest in a changing pad in one of their restrooms. The food is overpriced for what it is. I got the BL burrito which they stuff with wedges inside the burrito but also comes as a side. The coffee is good. But not spending $7.35 on it again. The service is also ok. Overall, this place is a trendy avocado toast type of restaurant with an overpriced food menu.
Coffee is always on point. I also think the atmosphere and vibes are great. The main problem is the service. So slow and kind of clueless. I’ve had more than one occasion where I just walked out because nobody would come to the counter and take my order.
The atmosphere and presentation was cute, but the dishes were underwhelming in flavor for the price. Service seemed very confused and the runners didn’t seem to know where food was going. They also seemed to be in quite a rush to turn over the table even though there were open seats.
Review #719- see Yelp under BC. Sadly, this one broke my 5 star streak! Ordered a coffee for pick up. Was stone cold. No one, absolutely no one was in the place. It was a black coffee. They wouldn't remake it, but topped it off with--you guessed it--cold coffee. Then I had a "free" coffee--expiring today. Any time I have ever had a "free" coffee" it expires the day listed, not before. Nope, mine is gone. And "free" is only $5 off their small coffees which cost you over $7 with tip and tax. Even the tipping option defaults to a minimum of 18% so you are paying almost $8 for coffee. Absolutely no one cares when you provide "feedback". They just say that they will "talk to management." So instead of paying upwards of $15 for two cold coffees and poor service, I will continue to go to Bodhi leaf where I get hot coffee or even Starbucks where you get rewards and they re-make your coffee if it's cold. Not only that, but on a weekday at lunch time the place was dead when it was once packed--and I am not talking about a rainy day either. All of the surrounding businesses were busy! It's unfortunate they want to lose customers and don't care, but this time, they lost me!! And for the record, no authentic. Australian place automatically adds 18%-22 % to a cold (not iced) hot coffee!
Despite the cute decor and ambiance of Bluestone Lane, overall experience was mediocre. Overall service was subpar. Took a bit to be seated. One drink arrived earlier than the other, which wasn't too big of a deal, but both hot coffees were luke warm. Super disappointed in the breakfast, eggs came cold, toast was cold. Temperature of the food felt as if it sat out for a bit before it arrived at our table. Only upside was our server was nice and friendly.
Giving 2 stars, as the food is pretty good...however, the service lacks in all ways possible. They greet you nicely, seat you...then take their sweet time taking an order. Once order is placed it comes out fairly quick, then the wait and wait! No one checks if you need anything else, actually about 10-15 went by without a server to be seen. We had to go to the front to ask for our bill. This place lacks management direction and needs more servers. If you don't tend to your customers, your business will fail.
I’m giving 2 stars for visual aesthetic. The coffee tasted like watery milk. Forced music like disco-trance.
I ended up having Saturday noon brunch here with friends because another cafe in the area was closed. The staff was friendly however we waited for over an hour for our food which was brought out separately for only 3 people. And our drinks also arrived individually. I never received my drink (even after reminding the server twice), and was only offered a substitute for the drink I ordered after I finished half my salad. My greek chicken salad was good however the portion was very small and the orzo in the salad was clumped together cold. Overall the restaurant/service/coffee station felt disorganized and mismanaged and the staff was not properly trained.
Nice location and outdoor patio area. Place was not that busy but food order took over an hour to arrive. When it did it was not worth the wait. BL burrito was average, wedges were the best part. Warm chicken and grains bowl was very poor, chicken was overcooked with the texture of something that was microwaved, vegetables were way overcooked. Lattes were fine.
Now I agree and know why this restaurant gets only 3.9 stars review. The atmosphere is excellent, but the customer service and food are below average. We waited ONE (1) hour to get our food served. During the waiting period, I asked the waitress if the food was ready. She was impatient and said, “I have been checking and checking,” and then walked away. Afterward, she returned and said, “my manager and I agreed you waited too long so you can choose a pastry and get your coffee waived.” I appreciated the offer, but she made it sound like they were doing a favor to the customers: lousy business practices and poor service. The customers are out to enjoy the weekend mornings, not for freebies. Finally, I got my burger served; guess what?! It was a COLD and DRY burger. However, I would credit the barista, as he was fast and efficient in making the drink so I could get my latte. Sorry, overall I’m not recommending this restaurant because of the poor service and foods.
Party of 3, two adults, one child. Came in at about 9am Superbowl Sunday to take advantage of the less busy morning. Cafe has a pretty, but comfortable, layout and is very clean. Ordered the folded chimichurri eggs, which were delicious, perfectly cooked and tasted great. My friend and her child also enjoyed their food. Unfortunately, the biggest downside was the service. Despite being only one of three tables present, two of which had already received their meals before we ordered our own food, the server seemed keen to get us out of there. We had our entrees for less than 5 minutes, when the server came to drop off our bill for the table, did not ask if we were looking to order anything else. However the server did say an obligatory brusque "no rush", but it was very clear, by the appearance of our plates, that we were not even 15% into our food. Prior to ordering we asked for two checks, the tab had not been split. Toward the end of our meal my friend decided she wanted to order another side of fruit for her child and I wanted to order something sweet. We did so, it took a concerningly long period of time to receive two items which required no cooking, at this point we were one of two tables present, the other table had already paid out. Again, the updated check was dropped off almost immediately. At this point I asked the server to split the check, helped her divide the items, she practically ran away before I could ask her for a box. Very unwelcoming vibe, we were obviously being rushed out, despite the cafe being practically empty and our table continuing to order. Despite the beautiful aesthetic inside the cafe, and the delicious food, the unwelcoming vibe of the service made it an unpleasant experience. There are other cafes in the immediate area with good food and infinitely better service.
Honestly, for these prices feel free to skip. The food looked great and is very photogenic. However, our breakfast sandwich bun was dry and fell apart. I honestly thought it had the texture of the cheapest brioche bun available at a grocery store. Also the ricotta pancakes were almost like chewing a sponge. The best part of the meal were the potato wedges, which were excellent. As far as atmosphere goes, it was a rainy day and they had cold air blowing out the vents. Not good. That said, if you want pics of food for IG.... have at it.
I just ordered from doordash and waited for my food just to be given someone else’s order, and then you can’t even call the restaurant. EDIT: I literally never leave reviews so this is unfortunate that I’m leaving two for the same place. After re ordering after getting the wrong order (giving them another chance) I reached out and made them aware of their mistake and then when I get my food back this is what I receive. I hope it was worth the laugh.
You’ll experience the longest wait time for your food no matter how many people are actually in the restaurant, just for the food to come out overcooked or burnt.
We have been waiting for our coffee for more than 40 minutes for just two drinks, and then when we got it our order was incorrect: just go to blkdot coffee if you are grabbing drinks or coffee they have way better service and its just on the other side/
Went on a busy Sunday, so as expected, we had the option to wait or be seated outside immediately. We chose to sit outside, which would have been fine, except it was extremely hot and there were only two umbrellas for six or seven tables. We were overheating badly, especially since we could see additional umbrellas nearby that staff just wouldn’t put up. We ordered a sparkling water, which took 30 minutes to arrive—even though it was bottled and just needed to be brought out. We repeatedly asked for water while visibly sweating, but that also took over 30 minutes, even as we watched other tables who arrived after us receive theirs first. The food was beautifully presented and tasted great—until I went to eat my leftovers later and discovered several pieces of eggshell inside my pancake. That was honestly disgusting. I don’t think it’s acceptable for a restaurant (not a home kitchen) to serve food with eggshells hidden inside. Overall, between the heat issues, slow service, and the eggshell incident, the experience was disappointing. I actually do like this restaurant, so I really hope these issues can be addressed.
