HOLDAAK in Orange is a popular spot for its delicious and juicy chicken sandwiches, especially the spicy chicken sandwich with Asian slaw. Many reviewers claim it's the best fried chicken they've ever had. Order accuracy can be an issue.
Tip: The spicy chicken sandwich with the Asian slaw is highly recommended. Be sure to check your order for accuracy before leaving.
I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich with fries. Food came out quick and tasted fresh and crispy. Chicken sandwich was very good. Fries were also top notch. Location is open fairly late. I will definitely be back if in the area
Party of 7 were all happy with their choices. Large portions and good flavors on everything. We had sandwiches, strips, wings, wraps and fries, and all were delicious.
best. chicken. ever. I continuously go to Holdaak over Canes every time. Their 3 piece spicy chicken tenders come with bread, fries and sauce and manage to fill me up every time. It’s on the spicier side but bearable. The spicy is >>> than the regular but can’t go wrong with either. The sauce slaps harder than canes sauce too. Go here, you won’t regret it.
Best fried chicken I've ever had, hands down. And I usually don't like fried food. The spicy chicken sandwich with the Asian slaw is soooooo tasty!
Move over CFA/Popeyes this is the best spicey chicken sandwich. Looking forward to trying the chicken strips and wings next time.

Súper clean , very fast and good food
Big portions, good prices. Spicy chicken great !!
2nd time trying this place, really good. simple yet very delicious! 👍
This is hands down one of the best chicken places I've been to.
They give you lots of popcorn chicken.
Holdaak is great. Get the "Come Back" sauce.
One of the best fried chicken I've had
Puts all other fried chicken places to shame. Where has this place been hiding?!?!?
Best chicken around. They need to open a spot in the IE!
One of the best chicken sandwich I had.
Place is fire had it a bunch of times always good
Great service - always ready for pick up on time and delicious wings!
Best chicken I've had in a long time. I really recommend it. :) fries were super crispy and delicious too
Friendly service pretty quick as well this is my husbands favorite chicken strip spots with a kick...chicken strip are a decent size. Good price for the combo as well.
The first time I went there it was nice and quiet, the staff was kind, the spicy sandwich was delicious. they're fast, the food is good and it is a nice place to go
If you are looking for a good chicken sandwich, this is the place to be! This has to be the best chicken sandwich I've ever had!!! Highly recommend this place!
Menu is simple but food is excellent! Food was cooked to order with no delay. It was so good we went back in the same day after the first visit?
By far the best friend chicken I've had, at a great price. 3 piece meal with fries will fill you up plenty.
Best chicken sandwich ever and best wings. The kids love the sauce and the shaken fries are an excellent complement
Probably one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. I'm dreaming of starting a franchise with a drive though. So good!
Good hot fresh food. Although if you cannot handle spicy stick with regular or sweet and spicy not too bad. Would visit again.
Fried chicken tenders like no other. Crispy on the outside juicy on the inside. Fried to perfection. Must try the spicy tenders.
Phenomenal spicy wings Tender and crispy strips Great sauce And fast service Can't go wrong here 10/10 Perfect wings
Fast,Friendly love the chicken salad. Frequent at least once a week. Great food.
Super tasty fried chicken sandwich. Asian flavor is on point. Fries with the comeback sauce is a must.
Amazing food, spicy chicken sandwich was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend.
I have eaten at this place many times and look forward to many more visits in the future! Everything is delicious
Great crispiness similar to that of bbq. Chicken. Great fries too, nice mild spice with sweetness
This is the best chicken strip or chicken sandwich shop anywhere. Forget Chick-fil-A or Canes.
Great flavor on their spicy chicken sandwich. Fast and prompt service.
My son loves this place!! Chicken is delicious and fries also!!
Good chicken sandwich. No decorations on the wall because the food is good enough you dont need anything to distract you from it.
Great food for great prices considering the portion! Love the flavors!
Super delicious and great portions! Definitely recommend!
Love the food here. Excellent Korean-American style hot chicken. Crispy, juicy and sweet. Not a buffalo chicken style. Original will give you the crunch and delicious flavor if you don't want the heat, but it's really not super hot anyway.
One of my favorite chicken places, their sandwiches are really good especially with the comeback sauce
Most delicious chicken sandwich I've ever had the pleasure of stuffing into my face. 10/10 would indulge again.
I am blown away. I have low expectations for all new chicken places that I try. I have never eaten anything so flavorful. The chicken was juicy and the breading was hot and crispy. The slaw and sauce balanced out the heat perfectly. I practically inhaled the sandwich. Bravo.
A great new take on the chicken sandwich craze that seems to be sweeping the land. I'd even go as far to say some of the best fried chicken I've ever had. The Korean flair on this sandwich with the pickled slaw is incredible. This is a must try if you are near one, and it will give you a new experience on the fried chicken sandwich.
The best hot chicken in Orange! (And yes I have tried every place in Orange that has hot chicken) And one of the best I’ve had in LA metro. The comeback sauce is some of my favorite special sauce and I’ve never had any like it before. Has a tasty umami flavor to it. I think I’ve eaten here at least every other week for the past 3 months it’s that good... I might have a problem...
Any time we are in the area we go to this place. The chicken is perfect and juicy. The sauce is just the right amount of spicy.
Wow... by far the best fried chicken sandwich out there, it's giant. Gotta order it spicy, even if your tolerance is a bit weak. Ordered 2 spicy sandwiches with fries and it was ready under 5 minutes. Got an extra side of coleslaw and the daikon slaw they serve on top the chicken and it was 21 bucks and change. Go, go now!
This place has THE BEST spicey chicken sandwich I have EVER had. You need to give this place a try. Mostly indoor seating. Friendly staff. Great food. This is my new favorite fast-sit-down place in Orange
I stumbled upon Holdaak by accident and let me say I am more than grateful for it. I had no idea what to expect as I walked in. Then, the smell of the sauce hit me and I knew from that moment that I was in the right place at the right time. Their caramel sauce is the go to however, I do not see you going wrong with anything you choose to eat off their menu.
Not as spicy as some of the other hot chicken places but the overall taste and texture of the fried chicken is better than hotties as well as the generic ones like popeyes and chick Fila
A tad overpriced, but expected with "hipster" restaurants like these. Food was absolutely amazing, wings were the perfect amount of crisp but still insanely tender on the inside. Would definitely recommend.
Place is freaking awesome. Great service. Fast too. Delicious. I wouldn’t have it any other way. Go here for your Korean fried chicken sandwiches my people. Go here.
Service is quick and food delicious. Crispy is the only way to describe their food. Only downside is there's no online ordering and phone orders can get busy if they're busy.
This is my 1st time stopping at this spot Food was good just like how I got it the first time.I usually go to the one Fullerton an I need to try it at another location due to the fact that my location no longer meet my expectations.
The best fried chicken sandwiches in SoCal 👌🏻 variety of flavors and heat levels and you can find daily deals when you check out their website (two sandwiches for a discount, two combos, Monday is salad or wrap discount day, etc.) for a discount. Got great service at the register at the Orange location
Had the three piece combo and the chicken meat was so moist and perfectly breaded! Then I had the chicken wrap that was even more delicious! Has a ton of ingredients that complement each other. Will absolutely be coming back!
Great chicken sandwiches. Stickers everywhere. Provacative bathroom artwork. A little strange to only play Bruno Mars when I visited (I'd expect a wider range of pop artists as opposed to just one) but it grew on me .
Absolutely loved this place so good I forgot to get a snap of the food, I went for the lemon pepper and it does taste like LEMON I love lemon so the taste was perfect for me the chicken if juicy and soft, then wings and popcorn chicken were great but the wings are my favorite
Amazing sandwiches! Everything is great! The fries! The tenders! Love!
This place never disappoints. Their chicken sandwich is on point. If I am in orange county I make sure that I hit this spot before heading back home.
The location is clean. I was greeted when I entered. The cashier was friendly and accurately took my order to go. My food was promptly put together and packaged neatly. One thing that would have made my visit more comfortable is to have seating, not high stools, that someone short like me can sit to wait for my order.

Good! 🍗 My sister and I are always in the area yet have never had a chance to try this place out until now. We're really glad with the menu options and found the prices to be pretty reasonable. Everything looked really good and they offer a lot of different flavors and seasonings which other places don't. - * #4 Combo (5 Strips): 8/10 - 'spicy' flavor wasn't spicy at all but fries were good - * Popcorn Chicken: 8/10 - good batter but no seasoning so quite bland They're located in the Tustin Square plaza which can get crowded at peak times so parking might be different. The interior is nice and they have plenty of tables to sit at. Be sure to stop by if you guys are ever in the area! 🐓
The Seoul Spicy chicken sandwich packed some serious flavor. The original sandwich was great a bit more on the milder side. Their fries great even better when dip in there sauce.
Great service and clean spot. The spicy level is quite mild if you eat spicy food. The spicy chicken sandwich was great with the slaw. The wings were mixed. I wouldn't get the original, they don't have any sauce or spice. The spicy were good. The caramel soy was pretty tasty as well.

The chicken wings were tasty and crispy.
Very good chicken sandwich. Nicely flavored sauce. Very nice alternative to other chicken fast food chains. Also, nicely seasoned fries!
The chicken sandwich is okay so-so, the spicy not so spicy. Fries are delicious, very crispy!
The chicken sandwiches are good. Better than Popeyes and much better than Chic fil a.
Used to be one of the best still pretty good just too many competition price is Fair
Delicious chicken! I ordered the three-piece original chicken which comes with the breaded chicken, toast, seasoned fries, and special sauce is was absolutely delicious! *They told me if I order through their website there is no additional fee charged as on the Yelp site, good to know since I was picking it up myself anyway. I ordered in person and only waited a few minutes while my order was being cooked. 1. Friendly cashier 2. Delicious food 3. I had to grab my own fork, napkin, and ketchup packet to put into my bag. Definitely grab some napkins you'll need it! (It's on a table near cashier) 4. No place to sit while waiting for your food. 5. Self serve drink machine in the rear of store 6.No public restroom I'll definitely be back for more chicken😉👍
The strips were good and crispy. Maybe even crisper then Canes. The sauce was OK. It's a Mayo based sauce with a little kick. My wife had the sandwich, which had some pickled veggies on top of the the strips. It seemed better then the strips alone. Overall I'd go back but I might like Canes a little better.
First time going to this Korean fried chicken shop. Food was good and tasty sauces but limited selection of food. Chicken wings or chicken tenders and limited sides. Still worth the trip. Good tasting chicken though.

This has been one of our favorite places to go and is a regular in our line up of places to go when we eat out. However, after this visit, Holdaak might fall from my favs. First, prices have increased here. I expect that given inflation and the price of chicken. But this goes a bit further. They’ve revamped their menu. Previously, you could get either 3pc or 5pc chicken strips for the same price as you can now for the current 2pc chicken strip meal. Mind you, the strips are bigger, but I’m skeptical that the 2 bigger pieces are equal to what they were before. Second, one of the reasons we loved this place was because of their fries. It seems these have changed too. Now they’re crinkle cut and just don’t taste like they used to. They’ve cut back on the portion size and the taste just doesn’t hit the same. Big loss there. Third, the chicken wings. This was the final blow. Before their menu switch a few months back, chicken wings weren’t as breaded. The current wings are bigger, but it seemed like most of that was breading, so I doubt if they’re actually any bigger…just looks like it’s more. Next, I don’t remember being charged in the past for doing half and half for the seasonings. Now they charge. AND the original flavor just tastes like fried chicken…nothing special to it anymore. We also got the caramel soy, and that was a let down with it over the breading. It just didn’t give me the usual good mouth-gasms I used to get here. For the sake of helping others, especially families, I recommend just getting the family pack for $38.95, but this doesn’t come with fries. I used to get x2 5pc chicken tenders (comes with toast and fries) + 10pc wings for about $50-$60 +/- for my family of 3 plus my mom, and we’d always have leftovers. I suppose those days are gone. I used to think this place was better than Clyde’s but after this visit, I say there equal. I get times are hard and prices change, but please go back to the vendor you got your old fries from…and even chicken. What you’re offering is more expensive for less quality. Personally, I’d rather pay more for what you used to offer.

So so fried chicken. Definitely better ones out there.
Comeback sauce is great. Chicken strips are pretty good. Good Diet Pepsi. Won't take phone calls.
Really disappointed they took the fried chicken off the menu. It was great.
Food is great but lately I’ve seen chicken just laid out on a tray for orders. Food temperature is hit or miss at this point. For a spot like this, you’d expect freshly made food
Food is great but order accuracy is poor. 3 out of 3 items purchased were not correct.

Is alr
Not very good. I got the regular chicken tender with fries and my friends got the spicy sandwich. None of us liked what we got. The tenders were juicy but very bland. There was a little seasoning on them but you could barely taste it. The fries were also soggy and tasteless. Even the ranch was watery with no flavor. The only thing that had some flavor was the red sauce. It was sweet with a little kick but it wasn't enough to make up for the blandness of everything else. The chicken wasn't undercooked but the breading was very flour-y in some places. In the end, I ended up removing most of the breading and just eating the chicken plain. Both of my friends said the spicy chicken sandwich was also not great. It wasn't very spicy and they didn't like the sauce on it. The wait wasn't too long but almost $30 for two sandwiches and five tenders seems a little high. I came here on a recommendation but I don't think I'll be coming back.
I've been here several times and the chicken is really good. Ive always ordered using an app though and today I went in to order in person and had the worst customer service. I orders a 20 piece caramel soy chicken and he put down a 6 piece when I told him about the mistake he told me it was my fault for not checking the order. I asked if there was a way I could pay for the other 14 pieces I asked for and he tried in no way to provide good customer support. He wasn't wearing a name tag either which was very unprofessional but he was wearing a hat and a mask with a red X on it
I ate here 2 times before but this time was just bad experience. The buns were thick and chewy. I ordered a chicken sandwich but the chicken patty came in 2 pieces and they were not crispy like the single patty one
Placed my order online at 6:45ish and it said it would be ready at 7:05. I live 15 min away so we left right when I placed it. 4 min after leaving my house I got a text that the order was ready. I tried calling when I saw this to make sure that my food wasn't sitting in the bag getting soggy and cold for another 15-20 minutes till it was supposed to be ready. No one answered so when I got there I asked for fresh fries as they had been sitting in a tied up bag for 15 minutes. The lady at the front was very nice and asked the other girl cooking to remake them. She immediately rolled her eyes and said "ok" while I was still standing there. I then waited for my food and went on my way. Not sure why she would be frustrated with me when the order said it would be ready at 7:05 so I planned to get there then. Meanwhile they finish it early, knowing the initial time was 20 minutes later. I would think this is common sense. If she recognized her wrong and wasn't rude about it I wouldn't be leaving a negative review. But don't roll your eyes at me when YOU made the mistake.
I went today to the orange location. Quick service, order was correct. Only problem was on one of our chicken strips of the 5 piece order was a grayish pink color inside. All the other pieces seemed fine but my son lost his appetite after chewing it and it was stringy. I cut the other pieces and they seemed fine. But he couldn't eat it after that. I called to inform the staff and the cashier did apologize but no response of replacing the food or his order. Or even wanting to see the piece itself. I feel that it was just like sorry, but whatever. Spent over 50.00 and don't think I would go back. Great chance to correct an issue and a major fail

Very expensive for three pieces of fried chicken, not the friendliest place, you can visit.
Bad customer service and chicken was undercooked
Prices went up so much, a lot of the old menu is gone. The loco fries were the only thing we kept coming back for and those are gone too
This place was great. Out of nowhere it did a complete 180. The spicy sandwich is not the same (they removed the original Korean radish slaw and now it has a basic coleslaw) the fries were fine, but way too much seasoning. I will unfortunately not be returning. It’s a bummer because this was my favorite spot for a chicken sandwich.
The best spicy chicken sandwich I've ever had. It will change your life in a good way. Tenders and wings are fantastic as well. Great food and great value. I learned all this from my last visit 3 days ago. Today tho, customer service was a bit off. I accidentally ordered from the Fullerton location by mistake. When I went to the Orange location and we figured out that I had ordered from the wrong location the manager in Orange called the supervisor at the Fullerton location to cancel my order. The manager at the Fullerton location said that they would not cancel my order that I had to go drive 20 minutes to pick it up and that they would not cook food for me in Orange. Kinda weird right?
Absolutley clueless workers. 2 signs stating there is a lunch special. Workers can't find it in the system or come up with a solution to honor the special. That's terrible customer service. Food was average at best. Why have Spicy chicken without having something that is actually spicy? Fail. And for Christ's sake turn down the awful music. Would not recommend this place at all.
I’m very disappointed on the quality of the chicken. I’ve been here before many times but ever since they changed the menu the chicken is different. I tried the popcorn chicken for the first time and it was nasty. The chicken was chewy and some pieces tasted like they were reheated. Very disappointed because unfortunately I threw up the 2 pieces I had. The Fries are still really good.
Ordered the loco fries and a spicy sandwich+tender combo. The combo was missing the tender and the fries had no bacon, onion, or cilantro on them. Have called several times and no answer
Went here on Valentine’s Day night. Girl working the front was rude. “What can I do for you?” She asked. Gave me my order, had to ask her for the cup. Get home and there’s no sauces in the box. Never made eye contact. The simple things of working in a restaurant she didn’t do. I’ve served for years and I know. I paid for extra sauce and, if you know this place, they have the best. I even tipped on a takeout order. Disappointed. Find another job if you’re not happy. Don’t ruin the reputation of this place because the food is actually really good.
