Charlie's Burgers Plus/King Falafel

Charlie's has that certain craveability that no other fast food place can fill in your heart(and stomach). My favorite is the pastrami sandwich and of course their fries. Simple but done with perfection every time. There is also a very friendly lady(wears a bucket hat and beautiful smile) who I am delighted to see each time. Never disappointed. P. S. I love the building's facelift

This place is sort of deceiving because of its sort of random name and location. But it is was a great surprise as the burgers were delicious fully loaded and their regular fries are enough to feed two. My wife got the falafel and enjoyed it and I got the burger and it was great! We went a second time and it was consistently good which is a major plus for me.

Charlies has been my family's favorite burger place for so many years. The burgers are so delicious and fresh. If you are up for a lighter lunch I strongly recommend the turkey sandwich. They always provide excellent customer service.

Pros: - Sold menu choices - larger or small burgers - very fair portions (if you order fries, you'll get a quarter of a bag of em) - new remodeled building with a retro 50s vibe - friendly/ helpful staff 🙂 Cons: - takes a while to prepare the food. Don't expect the drive through to be much faster. - too much ice in the drinks (but just tell them to give you "easy ice" and you should be golden) - sparse, no condiments on the tables (but just ask and they'll give you some no charge) - NO free refills

This is a classic burger joint in Orcutt. Everyone here grew up eating Charlie's burgers. It isn't fancy, just good burgers and fries. The only problem is that the drive-thru has a VERY sharp turn. If you have a big vehicle, just park and walk in.

I have been going to Charlie's for ever! It changed owners within the last couple of years! The new owners have picked up the ball and scored a TD! The food is fantastic and staff are super friendly!

They're the only place I can eat bacon on my burger. I normally eat a pretty plain burger, but I get the works when I order a Charlie Burger. And somehow their turkey sandwiches are the best, just add onion. The crinkle cut French Fries are always hot and crispy and I love how they throw them in the bottom of the bag instead of wasting money and resources on a holder for them. If I'm going to pay $40 or more dollars for fast food for me and my family to eat whether it's McDonald's, Jack in the Box, Taco Bell, or Charlie's, then I'm going to choose Charlie's every time because the quality is actually worth the money unlike those other places.

The burgers and fries here are really tasty and the inclusion of vegetarian options such as falafel and avocado sandwich/wraps makes the menu great for bringing anyone. The service here was fantastic and you can tell they care you are getting the service and quality you need. I will be revisiting in the future!

Local Falafel and Hamburger place, with lots of options to have it the way you like. Homemade french fries were also a treat. My wife enjoyed her Queen burger and I had the King burger (extra patty). Lots of flavor and a welcome change from the chain burger places. Free parking plus they do have a drive-up window. We sat inside in a room place.

It's a really cute lil' place that has quick and good food. They serve a nice half pound burger, the super king, as well as other smaller sizes. Few of my favorites would be the avocado sandwich, falafel sandwich, and the turkey pastrami. All have great portions and are tasty.

Great little burger joint in old Town Orcutt. The burgers are slightly above average, but the fries are great! The staff is super nice, and the food is always made fresh. The food is also reasonably priced. They have some big screen tvs there for you to watch while you wait for your food. I haven't tried any other food from here, but I do know they offer a lot more food then just your typical burger joint.

Great food, poor service. Every time I call whoever they hired is just rude and monotoned sounds like he doesn’t even want to answer the phone. Other than that the food is great. Get rid of the employees who don’t care about customers

First time here. Food was good. I had the chicken sandwich and my hubby had the king burger. First they gave us the wrong order. Then they forgot to give us our drink. While sitting there eating. We saw another costumer telling them they forgot his drink. Nice little burger place but they gotta get it together.

Fresh hot lunch prepared after you order. Friendly staff. Thought the falafel was lacking flavor but will be back to try other options. Daughter got the chicken strips. They were excellent and the basket of fries it came with was more like a massive bag of fries. Perfectly cooked and piping hot.

I don't trust a menu with multiple changes of price visible, hand writes, and the quality of food was 3/10. Clean, fine, wouldn't crave it in the night. I don't want to eat at a restaurant that can't find the bottom line, and doesn't know what their food is worth. many people eat with their eyes but I eat with my business mind. That tells me food cost and overhead projection has been miscalculated against revenue. Which means you either over valued your sandwich or now I am paying to make up for your lack of foresight, something that leaves a bad taste in the mouth in any event. When I assemble a Sandwich at a golf club, it is 19.99, because a man in a salmon shirt can afford a 20 for a sandwich. When I assemble a sandwich and fries for a working man, it costs half of the local median minimum wage, because if I'm not worth half of what you make in an hour you can't eat my food. know your value, value yourself to establish markets, not to react to them. I generally don't work for free but there are three free lessons, the best of luck to you , Charlies. you never know who you're serving, working for, or speaking with, so you should be kind to everyone. I have a feeling if I wore my bank account on my tshirt the food would have been as excellent as I heard it could have been. Shame.

Absolute WORST customer service possible in the history of EVER. Was looking forward to some dinner Tuesday night, 7:20pm, EMPTY parking lot, chose to hit the drive through with 1 other car in front of me. Checked out the DT menu for quite a while before pulling around. EVERY SINGLE time I have visited here, I have placed my order after pulling forward, an employee would come out, respectfully, polite, we would chat, they would take my order and return inside. But NOT TODAY YALL. 😩😩 After pulling forward, I was introduced to the rudest employee I have EVER encountered. After a scolding dirty look, and with the rudest tone possible, the mean lady told us we passed the speaker to order. Is this speaker something new ? Because I have never been prompted to use it ? I was already shocked at her demeanor with my family. I submissively mentioned that we were at the menu for quite a while, and no one said anything. YALL, she really did yell back “WE WERE BUSY!!” “NEXT TIME YOU WAIT !!”😱😱 Please keep in mind, we were never greeted, never acknowledged, never asked to wait. We felt extremely awkward, belittled and attacked within seconds of being approached. I refused to order my food and we decided to leave for the fear that something was truly wrong with this employee. Please be careful if you decide to risk coming here, also shield your children from the attitude and pure disrespect of this female employee. To the owner / management - SUPER NOT COOL ( cause your pastrami is bomb ) Pastrami 10/10 Customer Service - SUPER BELOW PAR I recommend a new hiring person.

Its a bummer they always close much earlier than there business hours say. Also they only served burgers after a certain time no fries or anything else on the menu.

Was excited to try this place today because of its great reviews, but didn’t get to due to its horrible customer service. We waited in the drive thru line for a while and pulled up but no one took our order after we called out to “anyone” for several minutes. We then decided to dine in but also waited for over 10 minutes right in front of the cashier lady whom NEVER even acknowledged us . I understand they were probably busy but she could have AT LEAST greeted us and told us it would be a little while til she took our order. We ended up just walking out and going to another local burger place. Word to the owner, maybe consider training the team a little better to handle customers during busy times. Good luck!

Very disappointed. My chicken strips were dark brown, like the oil was very dirty. When I called she even said how they looked to why would you give that to a customer then there was a hair in my fries that went in my mouth. Never again. What a waste of money. I wish I could post a picture.

Be careful! These guys never pay attention to what they are doing. There's always something wrong with their burgers. They just charged me for bacon in all my burgers just to find out they dont have any bacon on them. Tried calling them but they wont answer phone calls. If its not 1 thing is another with these guys. Always messing up and customers have to pay the consequences.

We used to love this place. But our last few visits were bad. The food is not as good , the employees are rude and the order is always wrong. We wanted to give them another try but it has been too many times. Met the owner on e and you can tell where the employees get the rudeness from.

The employee was barely putting on his headset. I wanted to hear his excuse. I said "Is your intercom not working." He said he didn't see me. I'm like huh and I drove away.

Burger dry where’s the mayo on bun and the delicious lettuce dressing with mayo making it delicious burger was not the same. Nearly no shredded lettuce. As she listened with stern face her only reply was next time you order at drive though speaker. I explained reason I ordered at drive window was to explain myself. Nothing from her no apology and the burger was at its worst. As we drove off we heard the purposeful rude laughter. I have the photo wish to post it

Tasteless and they don't toast the bun anymore. Recently tried one more time and roast beef tasteless and bread not toasted. Think we may be done with this place. Bring the old crew back. To John and Jeanine I get a pastrami sandwich religiously once a week along with a patty for my dog..the people have always been polite and engaging until today 2/25/25 @12 noon. some young Latino lady with a pony tail who needs some customer service in a huge way is there. As a customer frequenting your establishment I am blown away by her entitled, arrogant and down rude attitude..! While ordering she talks over you to begin with (which is why she missed my cherry coke which I didn’t want to argue about) , then when you pull up you’re not even acknowledged until she hand you your bill, then later literally slaps the bag in my hands and walks away as I’m saying Thankyou…we all have bad days I get it, but behavior like that can easily steer loyal customers away..It would seem to me that it should be her thanking us for our patronage…! Instead of getting some entitled I don’t care and don’t want to be here attitude..! I do want to give a shout out to the young lady who also works there on other days along with the young man with blond hair, these two young people are part of the reason I like going there…! I couldn't even get an order in to review the food. I walked in and stood at the counter as no one behind it even acknowledged me. After about 2-3 minutes, the girl behind the counter asked if I had a mobile order then proceeded to ignore again until I got fed up and left. I have worked in a restaurant and understand being busy, but not acknowledging and flat out ignoring customers is unacceptable. I'm not sure what this issue was, but I won't return based on that interaction.
