Found this place when I was looking for a restaurant on the way to the airport. Really delicious! Tried the salmon burger and shrimp burger with cole slaw and carrot cake. They also offer other seafood which they can cook the way you want.
A friend let us know about this place and we were not disappointed. Ordered the coconut shrimp, grouper sandwich, and shrimp burger. The best part was in the details... Best tomatoes I've had in a long time. Great bread on the sandwiches too. Oh, and the dill yuca was amazing. I'll be back!
Enjoyed an early dinner. Customer service was great with a nice family business appeal. Young man and lady ensured we were satisfied throughout of visit. Enjoyed th whole fried snapper with the fried rice, but they had much more to choose from on their menu.
Little hidden gem. I love grouper and when I make it to Florida I have to get a sandwich. In Orlando area it is not as easy to find a fresh one. The sandwich here ranks at top of list for my favorite grouper sandwich. It was fresh and perfectly seasoned. Not too much but right on the money. Service was great.
WOW. This place was wonderful!! The place is very small and unassuming. The staff was impressively pleasant, helpful, and attentive. The food was amazing. We're not from FL but we've bookmarked this place because we are absolutely going back. Kudos to the cook/chef(s) because they are beyond talented. I started with the crab cake and crab bisque because I couldn't decide. Both great choices and I could've stopped there... But I didn't. I also had the scallops and dill yucca. Those were THE best scallops I've ever had. Perfectly cooked and, apparently, reheated well when my husband had some leftovers for breakfast the next day. Husband started with the calamari and then steamed shrimp, lobster tail, and scallops for his main course. He was also a very happy camper. Highly recommend.
Jose was awesome, friendly, and gave excellent suggestions. The blackened grouper was so fresh I couldn’t believe it’s quality and flavor. Amazing! No overpowering flavors, but just right. The grouper came with white rice and broccoli. Bathe white rice and brócoli were cooked perfectly. Fluffy rice, light natural flavor, and the broccoli was steamed just right, with a little bite to it. They weren’t seasoned much, but it honestly highlighted the grouper flavors and made for an all together healthy dish you absolutely would order again and feel healthy after eating. I was loving everything so much, that as I write this I ordered a shrimp quesadilla- one of Jose’s suggestions. Can’t wait for it to come out! (Update, it just came out and I cant tell you enough how perfect it was. The shrimp was so delicate and the cheese was rich and creamy. They serve it with peppers inside and something acidic to give it a pop and boy was it outstanding. Atmosphere, painting and decorating: the place is simple, lit mostly by the window light. It does need updated lighting. The can lights are a bit small and too dim even at midday it seems a little dark. The seating is a bit plain, they could use something a little more rustic looking that reminds tu of docks or something. But I didn’t want the score to be affected too much because atmosphere aside you need to visit asap.
This review is for the Paella at Happy Snapper Seafood. We love it and ate almost all of it on the way home. Thank you very much offering such great dishes Julietta at your restaurant.
We were looking for a local seafood restaurant for our last night in Orlando. We came upon this place and we were not disappointed. It is a local place, family owned so you know the quality of the food has to be good. It wasn't, it was fantastic and very fresh. The service was personal and friendly and we loved everything about it. The prices were very reasonable unless you have your food door dash to a Pittsburgh Steelers game.
We had the snow crab legs, the octopus salad, oysters, deep fried whole red snapper with fried yucca and fried rice. Loved it all!! The server was awesome!! We will be back the next time we are in Orlando.
This place was perfect. I love to find local seafood restaurants when traveling. They did not disappoint. The crab cake was flavorful. The seafood quesadilla was outstanding. The snapper melted in your mouth. Coleslaw and potatoes were excellent. Wealsop got the shrimp fettuccine Alfredo. The shrimp were huge. The sauce was delicious. Save the garlic bread to mop up the sauce when done. Yum. Presentation was awesome.
We had a great experience here. All food was prepared after we ordered it and it was really really good. The clam chowder was the best I've had and I've had it all over the US. I highly recommend Happy Snapper while in Orlando. There isn't a lot of seating, but it wasn't busy when we went, Saturday around noon. Nice people as well.
The food was amazing, there’s now words to describe how good the service and the food was. The server was really nice and recommended many good things to us! We ordered many things and we thought the price was going to be so high but surprisingly it was very affordable. Best sea food my family has had in a while!
Been meaning to visit & so happy we finally did for my mom's birthday since she wanted some good fried fish! They did not disappoint! We ordered a little bit of everything & loved it all! Service was amazing along with the cuisine!

Happy Snapper has excellent food and service. Tables inside and out. The best New England Clam Chowder I have ever had. More clams than I have ever seen, and I think they make it when you order it. Met my brother and his wife, down here for Daytona, and we came up from Fort Myers area just to eat there. Thank you very much, Happy Snapper crew for our great meals!
My husband and I stopped by the Happy Snapper because we like to eat fried fish on Fridays. It was absolutely amazing! We got the 2 pound snapper with dill potatoes, and coleslaw. Everything was amazingly delicious! We really did leave the restaurant HAPPY!😂
This was my second visit to this fantastic small, unassuming restaurant, and it confirmed what I suspected the first time. The food is prepared by someone with serious experience at a high level. The seafood is as fresh as it gets. I had the octopus salad, and I can say this honestly—as a seafood restaurant owner myself—it was the best octopus salad I’ve ever had. My wife ordered the grouper sandwich, and it was outstanding. I looked around hoping to find the chef so I could personally congratulate him, but I couldn’t find him. The waiter was also very polite and attentive. This is, without question, my favorite lunch and dinner spot in Downtown Orlando.
Expertly prepared seafood that surpasses in taste than most fine dining restaurants. Every dish is oh so good and price is reasonable. Traveling for 2 weeks with many excellent restaurants, this one is right at the top ! Family owned and managed, service is friendly and immediate . It is a casual , clean , small restaurant which likely allows them to keep prices reasonable. Thank you , thank you to this family . I wish I lived in the area so I could frequent this place every week .
WOW! Was blown away with there food. Here is what we had.... 1.Fried grouper sandwich 2. Dill potatoes The sandwich was as fresh as any grouper I have ever had and the bread was awesome. Tarter sauce had the right amount of tang and the veggies were fresh cut. The Dill Potatoes as a side item blew me away. Perfectly cooked split red potatoes, cooked to perfection and coated with the right amount of oil or butter and dusted with Dill and seasoned. Was not expecting to love them as much as I did. Give this place a shot before they get the funding and move up to a better location amd there prices go up.

While on vacation, I recently visited Happy Snapper Seafood. To my surprise and delight, the seafood quesadillas and seafood paella were exceptionally delicious. The owners/chefs are amazing. It was as if I was back on a Caribbean island. The waiter was top notch as well. I will definitely be back. 😋10*'s
We were greeted by a very nice young man, and told to sit anywhere. Once we sat down the young man came over quickly with waters and took our order. We previewed the menu before going. Of our group of 3, 2 of us ordered the grouper sandwiches, and my daughter ordered the fish and chips. The food is freshly prepared, so there was a little wait, but so worth it. The grouper was seasoned and grilled perfectly, no need for tartar sauce. The fried fish was delicious and not greasy. The French fries were perfectly cooked, delicious and hot! We were very pleased and full when we left there. We will definitely eat there whenever we are visiting the area!
If you're ever near the south side of Orange Ave., Happy Snapper is a cozy spot worth checking out. It's a small but inviting place with a nice seating area, perfect for a casual bite. Our server was friendly but could have offered a bit more guidance, like asking if it was our first visit or explaining the menu in more detail. We did feel a little rushed, though. I went for the Blackened Salmon, which came with two sides. The salmon was flavorful and perfectly cooked, definitely a solid 4/5. The rice was just okay, but the broccoli—wow! It was absolutely delicious. My mom had the fried rice with shrimp and opted for the sauce on the side. She thought it was decent, but nothing to write home about. A heads-up for those ordering crab legs: everything is market price, and sides are sold separately, a la carte. Overall, it's a good spot, but next time, I’ll skip the white rice and stick with the broccoli!
Such a yummy surprise! Enjoyed their blackened salmon tremendously. Casual environment, quick friendly service. And delicious food. $$

I recently visited Happy Snapper Seafood Restaurant with my kids after being enticed by the positive Google reviews and appealing photos. However, my overall experience fell short of expectations. I had high hopes for a fresh and enjoyable seafood meal, but unfortunately, there were a significant drawbacks. We decided to order a variety of dishes to share, including Calamari, Fish & Chips, and Blackened Salmon with Broccoli and corn on the cob. While the Fish & Chips and Calamari were satisfactory, the Blackened Salmon was a letdown. The salmon was overcooked, rendering some of the end portions too tough to eat or even cut. This was a huge disappointment, as we were looking forward to savoring tender and succulent salmon. Furthermore, the restaurant's ambiance could use improvement. It felt a bit dull and lacked the lively atmosphere that one would expect from a seafood establishment. To enhance the seafood vibe, it would be great if they brightened up the space and played Island or Caribbean music, adding a touch of vibrancy to the dining experience. On a positive note, the trivia loop playing on the TV screens provided some entertainment, and the Coleslaw served was quite good. However, considering the overall experience, the lackluster ambiance, coupled with the disappointment of the overcooked salmon, made me question the value for money, specially when I brought it up to the server. Who replied this happened recently to someone else and that was it. No let us make it up to you on your next visit or and real concern to address it so it doesn’t happen to someone else. In conclusion, my visit to Happy Snapper Seafood Restaurant did not live up to the positive reviews and enticing photos. While there were a few highlights, such as the Fish & Chips and Calamari, the overcooked salmon and lackluster ambiance overshadowed the positives. I believe there is room for improvement in terms of food quality, ambiance, and customer service.

I don't know if they lost some cooks due to better opportunities but many this place is awful. Firstly, it took more than 40 minutes to get my appetizers and another 20 for food. The food it self was not great at all, it was so bad I just asked for to go box five minutes into eating it. I paid full price + tip($125) because I don't believe in handouts and I post only genuine content. I literally left the place hungry after wasting 1 hour plus of my time, to find another restaurant to eat!! Overall the experience was horrible, the only plus is the prices was very competitive compared to similar food in the area. I definitely do not recommend this establishment in the near future.

Fish was way undercooked and had a bad smell. corn on the cob was way undercooked only thing was good was the rice. I went into the location and voiced my concern in a professional way and was told to buzz off. Drive by daily and parking lot is always empty so now I know why. All these 4 star reviews must be from friends and family.
