Kobe Japanese Steakhouse - Alafaya

Tam was an amazing chef for my daughters college graduation dinner what a fun time and amazing experience.

Toshio was absolutely fantastic throughout our visit. I had a wonderful time—his sense of humor, especially the classic dad jokes, added a fun and lighthearted touch to the evening. The atmosphere was bright and welcoming, and everyone genuinely seemed to enjoy themselves. By the end of dinner, we were all engaged in great conversation and even had the pleasure of celebrating a birthday together. It was a truly memorable experience, and I’m already looking forward to coming back!

Everyone’s favorite Japanese steakhouse and hibachi experience is at its best at the Alafaya location. The packed dining room runs like a well oiled machine producing delicious aromas, the sounds of ringing steel, and tall flames. While the fiery show is on display, an army of service staff members carefully tend to each patron. Enjoy classic combos like the Kobe Trio or the Land & Sea while creating some lifelong memories around the hot teppanyaki grill.

Absolutely loved our first time here as a family! We brought kids 5-13 and it was absolutely fantastic! Highly recommend for all ages! Very interactive! Amazing service. 100% recommend.

The steakhouse provided me with one of the best steak experiences I've ever had. We had Chef Bao Bao as our cook and he was very funny and interactive with us. I recommend the Land and Sea for a variety of beef and shrimp. The sirloin I had with the fish was so tender and flavorful, best steak I've had for sure. The Scorpion for 2 was pretty good and coconut breeze amazing if you want a tropical and refreshing taste. We didn't need to wait that long but it was very packed when we went. I spent around ~$80 for all my items.

Chef Bao was our chef and he did amazing. Super funny guy had me laughing the entire time and normally I don’t find it that funny. Food was amazing.

This was my first experience and the food was delicious. The vegetables, noodles, meat Trio (chicken, shrimp, sirloin) portions are more than enough. Great food and experience.

The chef haha was very entertaining. He made the outing fun. I have never had a bad experience at this location. They made us wait long like 15-20 mins after reservation time but it was fun. Service is ok.

Chef hana was the best. We had a great time celebrating my brother’s birthday and he was super entertaining

Our chef, Toshio, was amazing! Great food and atmosphere! Came for a birthday dinner and had an amazing time. Food was cooked perfectly and Toshio told great jokes.

Really good experience. Wouldn't say great however. Our chef was on the boring side, we found ourselves eavesdropping on chef at next table because he had a personality. Food was excellent, filet was very tender (rare) and scallops good as well. Only thing I would've changed would be just sear scallops without soy sauce, it kind of overwhelmed the flavor. But overall we had a good time, great food and enjoyed it a lot.

Such a wonderful experience! Chef Minh and Our Beautiful server Ahn were amazing!! He was so pleasant, talented and made our night extra special! The food was so delicious! We had the chance to try their yummy Wagyu Steak! I recommend Kobe Ichiban Japanese Steakhouse to anyone who is looking for a great atmosphere and delicious food!

The food was delicious and the attention that we received as a large group was beyond our expectations. Our glasses were being filled constantly and the waiters/attendants were just awesome! Definitely returning!

Toshio gave us an amazing experience at dinner with the family. I’m not the biggest fan of Ichiban dinning, just think it’s too crowded and can never get comfortable. But, the booths are huge and very spacious and the food is perfect portions. 10/10 recommend this place and Toshio is the absolute best!

My family has frequented this particular Kobe many times and have always had a great experience. Last night we were there for a birthday celebration. Due to our large party, we had 2 chefs. Both Wawa and Hoshi were amazing and really created a great vibe for a very important celebration. In addition, Joshua and Kami were wonderful as well. Thank you for a great experience!

We had a large group with three young kids. Chef Minh was really great and engaging with them. They were a little nervous and overwhelmed with the loud noises and fire but he talked with them and showed them it was safe and for fun. They loved it.

Very, Very good! I really enjoyed our chef. He was extremely funny. Our server was very attentive and checked up on us constantly. The food was on point and the portions are massive!

Never a bad experience at Kobe. I usually choose it for my birthday and the show never gets old! Even when the chef doesn't say much, they always find a way to make it entertaining and get the whole table involved. If you sign up online for your birthday, you get a decent discount on your dinner and they'll do a dessert and the whole birthday shenanigans for you as well. You're never too old for the whole show in my opinion. If you don't want the whole chef meal, you can order al a cart off the menu too.

Excellent dinner and entertainment tonight with Tam. The service is outstanding. And the portions are large. We came tonight for a birthday dinner and are so happy we did. The atmosphere is beautiful. The staff are friendly and helpful. Definitely make reservations as this is a very popular location. Very family friendly.

A great spot on Orlando. You definitely get your monies worth! Huge portions of food that will last for days when you take home leftovers! Highly recommend.

Absolutely marvelous experience. Stunning. The food was so good, I found myself staring in awe at times. Our chef Hoshi was amazing and prepared such immaculate food. This place is marvelous. SO GOOD.

The hibachi was truly amazing, and the sushi was exceptionally fresh. We were particularly impressed by the attention to detail; our empty plates were promptly cleared away. It was wonderful that the manager checked in with us afterward, which speaks volumes about their service. I requested takeout containers, and she kindly packed all of our food for us. We celebrated my son's 18th birthday there and thoroughly enjoyed a magnificent dinner.

I can say that this was the best hibachi experience I’ve ever had, I’m not from Orlando but I promise I will be coming back. Definitely need to shoutout Leeann and Long our hibachi chef, these two are amazing workers and made me and my Bf’s experience amazing. Also the food was literally amazing and I’ve had my fare share of hibachi in my life but definitely 1000/10

The food has always been so good. They give you plenty of it too. We went on a Saturday night. We had a reservation. Unfortunately they have trouble with taking too many. They were running 45 or so minutes behind. Many people were upset. It was chaos. Also for a place that is really loud anyway, please don’t bang on that drum for birthdays anymore. There has to be a better way.

Food was great. Atmosphere was great. Only disappointment was how everyone in our party felt rushed to get out of the restaurant. The busboy literally took someone’s plate as they were eating off of it, and proceeded to box up the “leftovers”.

I think over all the atmosphere and service are phenomenal. However the food is not the greatest. Been to other hibachi restaurants and loved it. This is the first time I’ve ever seen them add potatoes and noodles to the food. Kinda weird. The food was also just kinda bland. Not the works faults tho!! Ik it’s a chain restaurant so they have to do what cooperate says, but they really should change the menu.

The food was good and we loved chef Hau, he was really entertaining and honestly made the whole experience much better. Other than that, service was eh…we had a 7pm reservation and didn’t get seated till almost 8pm and unfortunately that seemed to be the same situation for many in the overly packed wait area. So be prepared to wait even with a reservation. If you’re planning on having a cocktail or wine, expect to spend a minimum of $13~$15 a drink. This is one of the smaller locations, but still a cute for the space they have and they have plenty of parking in the back of the restaurant.

Were there for a friend’s birthday. Overall, the place was ok if you’ve never had a hibachi experience before. Food came in HUGE portion that is impossible to finish (rice, soup, salad, veggies, and the meat of your choice). Not even halfway through the plate, they asked to pack up the food for us. The chef was nice and funny but we felt a bit rush. You also still have to wait a bit even though you have a reservation. Also, we politely asked one of the servers if he can take an empty plate out as there is not many space to put everything, he said he couldn’t take out the plate, which was a bit weird.

I hate to leave this review because I used to really enjoy Kobe, especially this location on Alafaya. During my college years at UCF, I frequented it weekly with friends. However, my recent visit on Friday, June 6, 2025, for my sister’s birthday was a letdown. We made 8:30 PM reservations due to my children’s Jiu Jitsu schedule and arrived on time at 8:27 PM. Our party of five was seated about 15 minutes later with another group of five. When placing our order, I informed the server of my son’s egg allergy and requested his rice be cooked in the back to avoid cross-contamination and to not disrupt the hibachi experience for others—a standard accommodation at most hibachi restaurants. The server assured us this wouldn’t be a problem. The chef, identified as “Chef One” on his uniform, arrived but struggled with communication and had little of the usual showmanship you expect at hibachi-style dinners. He attempted some tricks, like flipping the spatula and an egg, but dropped both. Unfortunately, despite confirming the allergy earlier, the chef forgot and began mixing eggs with the rice. After realizing the mistake by reviewing the order sheet—something he did frequently—he requested a separate rice dish from the back, which thankfully arrived just in time. The biggest issue of the night was the portion sizes. Being seated at the end of the table, I received only two pieces of broccoli and some onions for my vegetables. I’ve included pictures for reference. The food that I did receive was good, and I still tipped over 20%, with a total bill of about $264 for five people. However, the main appeal of hibachi is the entertainment and experience. Without it, it’s hard to justify $52 per person for minimal portions. I’ll likely take a break from Kobe for now but may return if I hear things have improved.

I decided to give Kobe’s another chance after the last experience I had and what a mistake! There was hair in the Togo orders that I placed. Smh
