Mrs. Potato, also known as Bawarchi Biryanis, is known for its authentic Indian dishes, especially the biryanis and dosas. While many praise the flavorful food and decent service, some customers have reported long wait times, rude service, and inconsistent food quality.
Tip: Call ahead to inquire about spice levels, especially when ordering for children, as Ms. Keerthi is known to be accommodating.
This is one of our goto restaurants for Indian Food whenever we visit Orlando. The appetizers and biriyanis here never disappoint. Would recommend trying Kothimera Gobi, Dum Biriyani and Dosas here. The pastries are good too to end you meal on a high.
Bawarchi Biryanis in Orlando offers a delightful array of authentic Indian dishes that genuinely satisfy the taste buds. The biryanis are particularly commendable, showcasing a rich blend of spices and perfectly cooked rice that capture the essence of traditional Indian cuisine. However, despite the fantastic food, the service leaves much to be desired. The ladies at the reception seemed more engrossed in their personal conversations than attending to the customers. This lack of attentiveness detracts from the overall dining experience, making it difficult to fully enjoy the otherwise excellent food. In summary, while Bawarchi Biryanis excels in delivering authentic and delicious meals, the inattentive reception staff significantly impacts the customer experience, leading to a three-star rating. With improved service, this restaurant has the potential to be a top dining destination in Orlando.
The restaurant is nice and decently maintained. The service is good. We were seated immediately and we didn’t have to wait long for the food and drinks. For starters we had the vegetable samosa, which we liked. The main dishes we ordered were the Hyderabadhi Chicken Curry, Amaravathi Chicken Curry and Temper Chicken Biryani. The food was delicious and the spice level was good (we asked to make it spicy). Overall, it was a great experience. However, I would suggest adding some background music, as the restaurant was very quiet. A bit of music would help create a more enjoyable atmosphere.
Came two nights in a row here. We ordered spicy food and God it was spicy to our liking. Great service and the food comes out quickly. The quantity of dishes could be increased but I guess that is the Orlando standard due to the parks and hefty prices. Overall the food was amazing and it made us come two nights. We had the chilli chicken and boneless chicken biryani and let them know if you want spicy food. It will burn 👍
We ordered 2 dosas and Vijayawada boneless chicken biryani. Dosa & Sambar are the best - had them after Saravana Bhawan . Biryani was also tasty .. good going bawarchi team

🌟 We’re visiting Orlando from California and came across this gem on Yelp while looking for something kid-friendly. I called ahead to ask if they could make the food non-spicy for my kids, and Ms. Keerthi was incredibly kind and accommodating. She even went the extra mile to speak with the chef and customize our order. She recommended the Veg Keema Biryani, and WOW—it was absolutely delicious! Flavorful, fresh, and the portion size was generous. To top it off, since I mentioned we were ordering from a hotel, she thoughtfully included paper plates and cutlery without me even asking. Such a small gesture, but it made a big difference. 💯 Excellent food and truly exceptional service. Special thanks to Ms. Keerthi for going above and beyond. Highly recommend this place if you're in the area!
Fireeeee! What I got the Hyderabadi Goat Dum Biryani in mild spice. Mild was enough to send my head on fire! The food came out very very very hot! It was steaming! I love how fluffy the rice was. At first I was surprised with the top layer being just white rice but I guess that's the style or it is to help me tone down the spiciness... either way I appreciated it cause I was able to mix in the white rice. The meat was very tender and flavorful. This was a good portion and had a decent amount of meat. I like the presentation of the water in the bottle but not so fond that there was no ice.. tasted weird.. Environment This is located in a plaza and there are plenty of parking outside and seating inside as well. They seat you and you order. I had to make my payment at the counter. I'd say it is a more fast casual place.. good lunch spot. Niceness of the staff The staff was super nice and attentive. I was able to quickly flag someone for attention. Dollar It was around $20 for this dish. It was a decent serving, enough for 2 I'd say Yes/No? Yes, I would return here, maybe with others so I can try a bunch of other items...
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Bawarchi Biryanis Orlando — A Flavorful End to the Long Weekend! Another long weekend food hunt led us to Bawarchi Biryanis Orlando, and I must say it was a delicious decision! Parking: Parking is never a hassle here — plenty of spots are available, which is always a relief, especially when you’re hungry and ready to dig in. The area also has a good number of other Indian restaurants, but Bawarchi stands out for its biryanis. Ambiance & Service: The ambiance is quite decent — nothing overly fancy, but clean and comfortable enough for a casual lunch or dinner. The staff were polite and soft-spoken, which made the experience pleasant and welcoming. What We Ordered: • Appetizers: We started with the Chicken Lollipop and Shrimp Masala Fry. The Chicken Lollipop was so good that we couldn’t resist ordering a second round — perfectly cooked and flavorful. The Shrimp Masala Fry was packed with spice and the masala was spot on, although the shrimp could have been cooked just a little longer for that perfect bite. • Main Course: We went straight for the Hyderabadi Goat Dum Biryani, which turned out to be the star of the show. The aroma hit the table before the plate did — soft, fragrant rice, tender mutton cooked to perfection, and spices that tied it all together beautifully. We’re usually not big rice eaters, but this biryani didn’t give us a chance to stop! The raita and curry served alongside complemented it perfectly. Overall: It was a hearty, satisfying lunch — the perfect way to wrap up our July 4th long weekend before heading home. If you’re in Orlando and craving authentic Hyderabadi biryani, Bawarchi is definitely worth a visit. They have plenty of other options on the menu too, so you can always order a few different things and share. Highly recommended for biryani lovers!

It is an okay place to eat Indian food. Their Gobi Manchurian and their vegetable hot and sour soup are the best. Full of flavors and had an immense kick of spice. Their dal and rice with garlic butter naan was a bit; though it lacked salt but we added the salt on top to balance the flavor. Their chicken 555 and boneless chicken biryani was below average. Mango lassi was good as well.
Dosas were salty, there was another table that ordered dosa and they were saying the same thing. Sambar was stale , and chole bhature was ok but disappointed by how the bhature looked .
The ambience was good but the staff was not able to deal with the crowd at all! The appetizer came in 15 min and it tasted good but the main course biryani was delivered 50 min past we ordered and it was not up to expectation at all and the worst part was I found hair in it. The yogurt rice wasn’t good either. Overall, this is not the usual bawarchi experience I ever had in the west coast!

Dude that kitchen door squeaking is going to give hearing damage fr. Also, the front looks ok, but jeez, the bathrooms are like the worst gas station I've ever seen. See photos. A/c is struggling, chili fish is obviously reheated, they serve biryani without a serving spoon (just annoying really). Biryani was ok, but there's got to be many better rundown restaurants in Orlando.

Not a pleasant experience. To start with there were very limited options which was notified after waiting for 10-15 minutes to give the order and we had to wait for around 50 mins after pushing to get us our order. It was little noisy may be because the food was getting late(my guess). Anyway the Biryani was very good but the chicken lollipop was over fried and the drink never reached our table. Restaurant was neat and clean thats a plus.
The food was good, but the service was extremely disappointing. The female employee’s behavior was unprofessional, especially considering the mistake they made with our order. Instead of acknowledging it politely or offering an apology, she responded rudely and blamed us for “coming late,” which made it clear that customer service was not a priority for her. Even though we spoke politely throughout, her attitude did not improve. We ended up just eating quickly and leaving because the experience completely ruined our mood. Good food alone is not enough — basic courtesy, professionalism, and proper etiquette matter just as much. This kind of behavior makes customers feel unwelcome, and it’s unfortunate that it overshadowed the quality of the food.
This place has unfortunately declined in both quality and service over the years. The biryani rice was clearly a mix of plain white rice and basmati, which is unacceptable. When I pointed this out and tried to show it to the server, he wasn’t even willing to take a look or address the issue in any way. While the taste was just about okay, the overall quality was disappointing. The corn soup was equally underwhelming and tasted worse than instant packet soup. The front desk staff has changed a lot over the years, and sadly, so has the standard of the place. Overall, poor food quality and indifferent service. Definitely not worth visiting anymore.
I had one of the worst experiences at Bawarchi near Orlando. I called ahead to place a to-go order, and the person on the phone spoke with attitude—definitely not the level of customer service you’d expect from any restaurant. Unfortunately, the food made the wait feel even more pointless. I ordered the Veg Kheema Biryani, Chilli Paneer, and Kottimeera Chicken appetizer. Every dish was disappointing. The flavors were off, the quality felt poor, and nothing tasted fresh. On top of that, the restaurant seems to have very limited food options, which was surprising for a place with the Bawarchi name. Overall, terrible service and terrible food. Definitely not coming back, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for good Indian food in the area.
Ordered the Vijayawada Chicken Biryani, and it was completely bland. To make matters worse, the raita was spoiled. Extremely disappointing experience—I won’t be returning.
They had us waiting for two hours for an online order that we placed. They told us around 7 o’clock that it’ll be ready in 45 minutes at the moment it is 930 and our food isn’t ready yet. Terrible customer service, Staff is very rude when you try to confront them honestly bawarchi is the worse in Florida go to New Jersey or any other state and you’ll find better food.
I ordered vijayawada spl chicken and Hyderabad dum chicken biryani for to go. Both the biryani’s were stale and not fresh. Biryanis were mixture of leftover’s from previous day. Awful experience. Not worth the money. Disappointing service from bawarchi.
They cannot handle the crowd. Genuinely need a better way to handle customers. Our appetizer came after 30 minutes and our main course came an entire hour after. It’s ridiculous. The staff is rude and there’s no order in the place. Food is okay.

I have ordered one plate gobi Manchuria gravy. They charged me 15 dollars for just a small plastic box. Not a good customer service n when I asked for cutlery she started counting the plates n spoons. Too much privacy with less quantity.
One of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve ever had — and that’s saying a lot. I rarely leave reviews, but this place absolutely earned one. From the moment we arrived, everything went downhill. The service was disorganized, slow, and shockingly unprofessional. Despite having clear availability, we were not accommodated properly. Food came out at completely different times, and to make it worse, we were rushed to leave while still eating — a clear sign that customer respect means nothing here. The restrooms were poorly maintained, adding to the overall feeling of neglect throughout the restaurant. Not once did a manager/owner check in. There was no apology, no accountability, and no attempt to fix the situation. The front desk staff were rude, disengaged, poorly trained, and completely disconnected from even the most basic standards of hospitality. The owner showed zero concern for the customer experience; even after complaints were raised, his focus remained on seating other guests rather than addressing his staff’s behavior or the issues at hand. This place clearly survives on one-time visitors who don’t know any better. There is no pride, no care, and no effort put into the experience. If you value your time, money, or basic human decency, stay far away. If you’re a party of six or more, expect to be split across multiple tables even when space is clearly available. This restaurant doesn’t deserve a single star, zero would be far more accurate. There are plenty of better restaurants nearby that actually respect their customers.
We were 4 Frnds and we ordered food from this place on Uber Eats. The appetizers were $20 each. (Very expensive compared to national average for an appetizer at bawarchi or any average Indian restaurant). The quantity was very little(it came in a box half the size of regular take out boxes). I have dined at bawarchi in different parts of the country. This was the only place that served so little quantities. We feel we paid a premium for this food and got scammed. Just because we liked other establishments we ordered at this place that took more than an hour to get delivered. We were hugely disappointed. Even the family biryani we ordered had very little quantity. We had to order again from McDonald’s because this quantity was not enough. The food tasted very mediocre. Not worthy of the bawarchi name at all.
Worst Service The food may be good, but the service especially at the reception is extremely disappointing. The staff at the front desk are not polite, and their behavior toward customers is not acceptable. I understand that managing an overcrowded restaurant can be stressful, but that is not an excuse to be rude. Customers deserve basic courtesy. There is one girl at the reception who seems to be working very hard, but she often forgets how important it is to be polite and respectful. Being busy should not come at the cost of customer experience. I ordered three items and, after waiting for over an hour, received only two. I didn’t mind the mistake, as these things can happen. However, when I politely asked about the missing item, I was told it would be checked but it never was. This lack of follow-up is exactly what I mean by bad service. I also noticed that she was behaving the same way with other customers, not just me. I am not trying to criticize her personally or affect anyone’s job, but the staff, especially at the reception, clearly need better training on customer interaction and basic politeness. A little courtesy goes a long way.
We had a very disappointing experience at Bawarchi Biryanis Orlando location. The food quality was below average, and honestly, none of the dishes we ordered were good. The biggest issue was the extremely long wait time. Even after waiting over an hour, our food had not arrived. When we politely asked the lady at the front desk about the delay, she seemed annoyed as if we were wrong to ask. After more than an hour, only the appetizer was served and still no kids’ food. Our children were so hungry that they ended up eating the spicy appetizer, which was not appropriate for them. About 30 minutes later, the biryani finally arrived, but there was still no sign of the kids’ order (paneer curry and naan). The kids’ food arrived nearly 2 hours after placing the order, while we were seated the entire time. This level of delay is unacceptable, especially for families with children. On top of that, the front desk lady’s attitude was very unprofessional and unwelcoming. We couldn’t understand why there was so much attitude toward paying customers. This was by far the worst experience we’ve had at any Indian restaurants in the area. What stood out the most was that this place seems to focus only on making money and not on customer satisfaction at all. We won’t be returning to this restaurant and I would not recommend this place to anyone…..
