Opinions de Reposado Palo Alto
Reposado has a great party vibe to it with friendly staff and courteous service. Most of the crowd here are from offices in and around Palo Alto so expect this place to be very busy. Reservations are absolutely recommended. Best part for me was the fact that they had a vegetarian menu with some great options from starters, sides and main dish/entrees. Appetizers: Starters include fresh chips and salsa. The plantain chips which come with a cream + honey chilli sauce are an excellent choice for sides or appetizers (see pic). Street tacos (corn based) are an excellent choice as a starter or main dish. The enchiladas with the shredded cabbage and goat cheese on top is a treat for the taste buds. Also recommend their freshly squeezed orange juice. Highly recommend this place overall.
We had a lovely time at this upscale Mexican restaurant. This place serves elevated yet hearty and authentic Mexican cuisine (approved by my Mexican wife!). Most of the dishes feature Mexican flavors in upscale restaurant style food and presentation, so read the menu before you go to set your expectations. The cochinita pibil is my favorite main course, and I often have leftovers to take home after. The guacamole and queso fundido are the two shareable appetizers I like best. They have a variety of tasty margaritas, but be warned - the large sized ones are pretty large. When I'm driving I usually order a small. Service is fast and attentive, and the atmosphere is slightly on the noisy/lively side on busy nights. This is a great spot for a date or a nice meal out with friends. Expect a meal here to take an hour if you order appetizers and drinks and take your time. Cost ranges from $40 per person if you just get a main course to $80 if you have appetizers and drinks as well.
Great food! We stayed in the hotel across the street for a week. We ate at many different places but kept coming back here. My wife kept trying to customize the dishes by asking for things on the side and then said “I should have just eaten it as is!” She liked the flour tortillas better than the corn, but liked the refried black beans better than the whole, which is usual for her. I was impressed that the corn was a non-GMO variety. This place is definitely going on our list of places to come back to next time.
Our dining experience here was pretty phenomenal! We went pretty late, around 9 pm, but the service was still impeccable and amazing! A staff member came to introduce us to the menu and made some great recommendations! The prawn appetizer was good. However, I was really blown away by the crab crepes. The amount of crab and the quality was incredible and the crepes were very soft and delicate. The hanger steak was delightful as well. Great char and crunch, but it wasn't overcooked at all. The salad on the side is spicy though - be warned! Phenomenal nonetheless. The atmosphere and decor is beautiful and it's a great place to celebrate all occasions. Suited for conversation and relaxation. Loved it!
Stopped by for Happy Hour in Palo Alto after a quick random search. Found a spot with HH from 4pm to 6pm, and we rolled in at 5:30—just in time! It's a Mexican place with tons of tasty starters to try. And the Happy Hour deals? Definitely solid. Plenty of booze. Totally worth it! 🤣

I liked the interior decor. I appreciated the vibe and ambiance. It not a typical Mexican restaurant. It is what you would expect for one in Palo Alto. The food is good. The staff was friendly.

The shrimp empanadas are my favorite and the cochinita pibil is excellent. The manager Angel is very attentive, great experience.
We stopped by this lovely restaurant for snacks and loved their empanadas, salsa and chips and a roasted corn dish that was fabulous.\nCan't wait to go back for dinner!

We came here on a weekday to celebrate a birthday. The drinks were designed and nicely presented. We shared all of our dishes family style. The homemade plantain chips and tortilla chips are very thin and crispy. Portion sizes are on the smaller side. Prices are high for the cocktails and the larger plates. The ambience is great with the high ceilings and wood interior. We had 2-3 people wait on us. Our original waiter didn't write down our order and we had a mix up on one of our plates but they were pleasant about correcting it. Around us there was a work group lunching with 8 people and there was a friend gathering of 4. This seems to be a place to celebrate and or enjoy food with friends. The restroom is located on the 2nd floor where there is also a private room (which was occupied by corporate-looking clientele).
We had a fun double date night here at a reserved table as first time guests. The food was excellent, and the service was ok. Drinks seemed pretty weak to us. For over $100 per person we expected a bit more attention to detail and more frequent check-ins by the wait staff. They forgot our soup, so we had to ask for it after the entrees were served. The desert order took an unexpectedly long time to serve after the order was taken. We think it was probably ready and forgotten by the server. Maybe they are not properly staffed? It took 2.5 hours for dinner. Parking was bonkers and required several loops through the public parking structure to finally get a spot. Street parking was totally packed. I would return again, but if the service is slow and inattentive the next time, I probably won't keep returning.
We had a wonderful family reunion at this restaurant and truly enjoyed spending time together while sharing a variety of delicious dishes. The food was flavorful and well prepared, and everyone in our group found something they liked. The staff was friendly, helpful, and made us feel welcome throughout our visit, which added to the positive experience. The restaurant itself is very nice and well maintained. The only downside was the long wait time — about 30 minutes — and the noise level in the dining area, which made it difficult for us to hear each other and enjoy our conversation. Other than that, it was a very pleasant experience, and we would definitely consider coming back again.
Came here last night for a late birthday dinner with my sisters. It was a Tuesday so we probably didn't need a reservation. Lots of open tables available for seating and no one new really came in the whole time we were there (6-8pm). We ended up sharing appetizers for our dinner and some wine. Everything was delicious and I would come here again to try out some of the main entrees.
We had a fantastic meal, starting with their chips and guac. Warm, fresh tortilla chips, fresh, flavorful guacamole with three different salsas. There were 5 of us, including a 6 year old who got his own menu of choices. I had the hanger steak, perfectly prepared, with a delicious stuffed pepper, others enjoyed the Seafood crepe. Our servers were attentive but not intrusive, everything we wanted was available and nearly immediate. We will be back, there are several menu items that require exploring. Enjoy!
Really good food and drinks. Had the Burrata with tomato starter, chile poblano, pollo parrilla mole sauce with tamarind margarita, mango margarita. Drinks were good - not too sweet and made well. Food was well made along with red and white rice. Very flavorful. Got the salted caramel ice cream with upside down banana bread.
Great place for a big work group dinner! They accommodated 11 of us easily. Chips and guac for the table is a must. The pancita dish was good, and the Ceasar salad with chicken too. The panna cotta dessert was very weird, and the tres leches a bit disappointing. Definitely get the banana upside down cake (platano enmielado) though! Stunning. Would come back for big group meals.
What a nice spot for a drink and a bite. It's a little more expensive than some of the other options around but quality is on point. I came for just a drink and a bite but ended up having two drink…
Way overpriced for super small portions of food. Ordered Cesar salad with grilled chicken, cauliflower dish (coliflor a la parilla), and chile poblano. Not worth the price at all. Will not return.
Love their guacamole and chips ! But the veggie main course is very limited and has been same for super long time ! Never the less love the tofu dish !

The steak appetizer I had was extremely spicy (it doesn't even say on the menu and staff didn't tell), and was cold and was tasteless. The service was also very slow.

We were in the mood for mexican food and thought this place looked quaint and interesting. But the margaritas are meh and the food is pretty lousy. There are many better options in Palo Alto.

I love mexican food, but I wasn't excited about "fancy Mexican"...but I was wrong! It was DELICIOUS - awesome, creamy sauces but not heavy. Excellent Margaritas too. Dinner for 2 was $100.
The best I can say about this place is "It's not bad" however nothing really stood out for me taste wise or service wise. The ambiance is good 👌 The tall ceiling with ambient light feels nice. I was here to celebrate a friend's birthday and maybe that made it special and worth 3 stars. Vegetarian options are available and Chile Poblano was good. Drinks options are plenty however the one I ordered, Lemon Drop cocktail tasted like basic, too sweet lemonade. Honestly, I would have been okay with the quantity, quality, and the slow service if it was not this expensive.
Overrated! Great atmosphere and great food presentation but the taste was average. My son really enjoyed his chicken Mole, but my brother and I were so so with the salmon and a seafood crep. Serv…

Expectations were high, service was low. This is a Mexican restaurant and the only steak option (the most expensive plate) did not come with rice and/or beans. For lunch though the meat option does offer beans. If I wanted to go to an American steak house I would have gone to one, but I opted for Mexican food instead, brócoli and potatoes are not Mexican cuisine. Unfortunately there were no other meat options that offer rice and/or beans together. My food took quite a long time to arrive and I was never attended to by my waiter nor even saw him pass by in order to flag him down during the extended long wait. Thankfully the hostess was kind enough to ask us how everything went at the end and was receptive to us, kudos to him, because of that we still tipped. I wish the service and menu were better because the location and presentation/decore inside the restaurant was really vibrant and nicely put together. Would like to see a carne asada option for dinner (w/rice & beans). Thank you.
Absolutely ridiculous, this place nickel-and-dimes like nobody's business! For context, we had a group of 8 people who went to celebrate a friend's birthday. We carried our own cake due to dietar…
Comically overpriced. Service and atmosphere were perfectly fine. Everyone was friendly but the food was forgettable. To drink, I ordered a mocktail which was fine but essentially a tamarind lemonade with club soda. To eat, I ordered a seafood crepe. The dish itself is more nuanced than those two words let on, but your tongue would not be able to tell if you didn’t read it on the menu prior. It was basic and perfectly fine, but it was *$38*! Just about everything on the menu was eye wateringly expensive. Most mains clock in at around $40. I also shared in some brussel sprouts and guacamole with my party. The former was average but a tiny portion for nearly $15. The latter was solid but, in theme, pricey. Everything except the sprouts is pictured. Overall, this restaurant made me feel duped. Like a joke was being played to see how much they can get away with charging. It really does not feel great after dining at a place like that. I feel a bit foolish. And I am going to spare myself that feeling in the future.
