I came here with a group of 6 for brunch and we had a great time. We made reservations ahead of time and got to sit outside. The outdoor seating had a mix of shaded and unshaded tables and we were able to get a shaded table during the summer. We were pleasantly surprised because of the big portions and how yummy the food was. Service was also great. Parking can be found in a nearby garage or parking lot. I can't wait to come back for dinner!
Great place for an intimate date with great food, drinks and service. Our server was very friendly and did all possible to work with some ingredient intolerances. Drinks were high quality as well as the food. The vibe inside was very trendy, and intimate, but had outdoor seating as well. Would highly recommend this place.
Cool ambience, good mexican-Californian brunch spot with both sweet and savory options from stacked pancakes to omelets and quesadillas. No reservations required on a sunday. Indoor and outdoor (covered) tables available. We got the pistachio butter hotcakes - fluffy, buttery, good stack of softness :) turns out the pistachio flavor is just the butter spread on top, not so much the pancake batter. Berries on the side, good presentation. Quesadilla was cheesy, gooey and pretty huge. The salsa was not spicy. Salad was OK freshness wise. I would come back to try their drinks- wide selection of liquors on display inside. I'd split 2 dishes and a small plate with 3 ppl. Good for groups and families.
Absolutely delicious restaurant/bar that is a great place for a happy hour. Great for those that don’t plan ahead since they don’t take reservations so we were able to be seated for a party of 4 with no wait at 6pm on a Thursday. There were still a couple of empty tables there as well. Food was delicious, appetizer portions are a little pricey and on the smaller side but the entrees are well sized, good value and everything is absolutely delicious. Plenty of drink options as well.
My friend and I wanted to be healthy and opted for a salad. I added Salmon and my friend chose chicken. The salmon was a generous portion and served with a glaze. The flavors of the salad, the dressing, and the salmon went perfectly together. My friend loved the chicken. The portions were generous and we had enough left over to take home. The biggest surprise were the cocktails. Beautiful to look at and delicious to the taste. I’m already planning my return visit to try other entrees
Our new favorite brunch place. We will go back to try their breakfast burrito and more. We shared the pancake which was delicious. I had the chicken mole tacos and hubs had the egg avocado breakfast sandwich with potatoes. We both had the Mexican Olla coffee. All delicious. Highly recommend.
Really enjoyed the food and cocktails. Service was attentive and the ambiance and decor was really nice. I would definitely recommend this place to others. Interestingly, they didn't only have Mexican dishes on the menu, they also had a Thai dish and some other interesting dishes. The chocolate tart dessert was amazing because it wasn't too sweet.
The lasagna is delicious! Wednesday night we got seated right away in a cute outdoor nook. The service was very good, along with the drinks and food. The fried potatoes were a find, along with their creative drinks. We missed out on their guava filled donuts for dessert. We’ll be back!
My first new place after many months of Covid lockdown. Wow what a way to start ... The place is on California Ave and the street is blocked for traffic so all seating is on the road, kinda European style. First all the covid sensitivity stuff - all staff wear masks, tables are at least 6-8 feet apart and there's sanitizer if you want. We were a party of 6, so we tried many of drinks. The winner for us was Year of the Earth Dog, an excellent variation of a margarita. There's tamarind instead of orange liqueur. the combination was excellent. Kudos for an innovative mix. Others ordered Ryan Alexander, Chapulin, Love Machine ... all very good. Achiote tortilla - served with most of their dishes, Wow, I've never had this before and needless to mention was blown away by the taste. Has a pleasant peppery flavor. Divine! Appetizers: Empanadas, Queso fundido and we had to order the nachos. Entrees - I went with the tacos de carnitas - you get two and they bigger than a "street" taco. Would warn that if you have any of appetizers you won't be able to finish it. Others ordered the tacos del mar and maja lasagna. The service was attentive and not intrusive. Accommodative when we wanted some customizations. I've been to Michelin star Mexican restaurants and I have to say these folks were better. There wasn't a single appetizer or entree we didn't like!! Highly recommended.
Staff were kind, patient and pet friendly. Cocktails were perfectly made and food presentation was beautiful, not to mention delicious. Family owned and operated which is so awesome to see and support!
I was surprised by this place. The dishes were amazing. The burger specifically was great. The sauce and the meat was well prepared. The staff was helpful. The space is kind of small. The drinks were great as well. Lots of parking around.
Came here on a Wednesday night and got seated immediately! I like the outdoor patio ambiance here and we got a really patient and nice waitress too. I got the chips and salsa which was a good filling touch and cheap too! We got the empanadas and the lasagna as our main courses and it actually was super filling. The lasagna was the star with super unique filling and it was just a beautiful presentation too! Overall would come again and a great date location because of the cute ambiance. Limited menu helps with decision paralysis too.
Cute little place with superb service! Plenty of choices for vegans and vegetarians. We ordered the beet empanadas and the veggie tacos. Good portion sizes, and soo delish. Love the verde and the red sauces. We went here for a Saturday brunch and there was no wait time to sit indoors.

Any of these reviews that say Not to write home about - is a competitor. I’ve eaten all over this country. I eat out 4/5 nights a week. And this was one of the top 3 meals I’ve ever had. Anything other than a 5.0 is either a lie or someone that thinks they should get amazing food for $2. Jose was the best!!
Just loved the place. Lively area so plan to take a little while to park. Staff is super attentive, chatty, and knowledgeable , but this place is meant for a leisurely meal. They tend to bring dishes in a serial order rather than parallel. Food is generously portioned. Amenable to vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and restrictive diets. Cocktails seemed a little steep to me but delicious none the less.
The drinks are good here. I liked the guac, well who can go wrong with that anyway? I am an Indian vegetarian and the food was ok.
Street dining with heaters for comfort. Space is available inside as well. We enjoyed the Pork tacos with mandarin oranges. The meat was cooked until tender but was a bit short on flavor. The Queso Fundido with chorizo and huitlacoche tortillas was tasty but the cheese was very heavy. We couldn’t finish and did not take a box. The flautas were our favorite dish, fresh and light. The Salsa & chips; one with a tomato base and one verde were good but you do have to pay $6 for two very small cups with no refills. Overall we enjoyed our dinner. The wait staff was excellent and very friendly and knowledgeable. Seemed a bit expensive for what we ordered, $110 with no drinks for three guests.

The food is definitely well made, but the extra high price tag doesn’t seem warranted. Food quality is about on par with restaurants that charge roughly half what Son of Wolf does. We got the mahi-mahi tacos — you get 2 tacos for ~$30, which is insane to me as the tacos are not very big and don’t have a ton of fish on them. The fish was well cooked, but a little bland for my taste. The carnitas plate was decent, though I think it would’ve been better crisped up as some places do. The cilantro salsa was excellent. Again, the portions were kind of small for $36, given that pork shoulder is relatively cheap, and the food was nothing mind-blowing. Ambience was nice and the food was well made, but honestly there are about a hundred restaurants in Palo Alto with better food at this price point.
The food is wonderful. My only complaint with a place is that it is pricey, and maybe overpriced for what it is. That said, it is very very delicious food. We came here for happy hour. I would say the happy hour selections are not terrific. We were happier when we got a table and ordered off the regular menu. The appetizer that is simply melted cheese is marvelous. And the tacos were delicious, but as I said probably overpriced. And the desserts were lovely. I hope this place makes it, but I think they need to have a better happy hour with good deals.
Great tequila and mezcal selections, although only a few Anjeos which was a little disappointing. I really enjoyed the food here - house made tortillas were memorable with a tasty carnitas plate. Arugula salad was mid. Service was ok but I had to flag them down and wait a bit for attention. They were helpful and friendly when I got their attention, suggesting tequilas and bringing me extra spicy salsa (which was yummy). Small space so best for just you and a friend to go for dinner or drinks and a good chat. I plan to go back.
Atmosphere is good, they allow dogs outside, the server was great, but the food was just meh. Not bad, but forgettable. Which I guess is better than remembered for the wrong reasons. Servers are definitely great though.

This place was okay! The food was nothing to write home about. Friendly service and cute spot. We had the crudo with sweet passion fruit purée — I didn’t really enjoy it. The agua chile was red and not very flavorful, and the cochinita was just okay, with a pretty small portion for the price. Tuna tostada is what saved the night! We sat outside because it was a beautiful night, and a flight of mezcal definitely made everything better :)

The food was good, but too expensive for the quantity/quality. A small appetizer+two entrees, no drinks or desserts, racked up a 100$+ bill. That being said, our hostess was absolutely lovely and service was fantastic! Very cozy atmosphere too!
