📌Free city parking, Lot 5 enters from Cambridge Ave at New Mayfield Lane. Walk to California Ave through Mimosa Ln. 👍Samosa (4pcs) Crispy, not greasy, along with 3 condiments : Mint cilantro chutney, Tamarind chutney, and a deliciously nice surprise : mildly spicy Mango chutney! 👍Malai Kofta Must be one of the best in the 415/650/408 area. You'll come back for more! 👍Shrimp Vindaloo Huge prawns! 🏆Very cozy and pretty romantic ambiance. Super friendly servers. ✨️Both the better tastes and bigger portions make this lovely Indian restaurant a hidden gem for good value comparing to others.
This place is amazing, amazing and amazing 😆! From the customer experience to the delicious food, it’s all fantastic. I’d love to try every dish, but I always go for the Palak Panner medium spicy! 🌶️ I comes with complimentary rice. The prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous. The music brings back so many childhood memories. Give this restaurant a try! @Marcus! Thank you!
Uniqueness: Classic Indian flavors with excellent service Wait Time: [x][x][x][ ][ ] (Popular spot, reservations recommended) Food Quality: [x][x][x][x][ ] Service: [x][x][x][x][x] (Fast, friendly, and attentive) Setting: [x][x][x][x][ ] Cost: [x][x][x][x][ ] Tried this Indian restaurant and overall had a solid experience. The food was flavorful, well-spiced, and satisfying. Some dishes stood out more than others, but everything was well-executed and comforting. Service was a highlight—waiters were fast, friendly, and very attentive, making sure we had everything we needed without feeling rushed. This place is popular, though, so reservations are a good idea, especially during peak hours. The setting was warm and inviting, though it can get a bit crowded due to its popularity. Prices are reasonable for the quality, making it a great spot for a solid Indian meal. Would definitely come back, but next time, I’ll make sure to book ahead!
Pretty good food. Went there at about 11.45am on a Saturday and we seemed to be the first ones there. The service was pretty quick. The food was served hot and fresh. Malai kofta was very good. Quantity did seem a bit less though. Paneer was soft and tasted really good.
Went to this place for dinner. Tried palak paneer, paneer shashlik and samosas. Everything was really good. The food was delicious and freshly made. People here are really sweet as well.
Namaste Indian Cuisine in Palo Alto is, without a doubt, one of the best Indian restaurants in the Bay Area—easily making my top three! From the moment we stepped in, we were captivated by the restaurant’s warm, moody ambiance, beautifully adorned with gold-plated water vases, intricate artwork, and a cozy yet upscale feel. It’s the kind of place that invites you to settle in and enjoy a truly authentic experience. Now, let’s talk about the food—absolutely phenomenal. We ordered the Lamb Vindaloo, Vegetable Biryani, Aloo Gobi, and the Meat Platter, and every dish delivered bold, vibrant flavors that rang true to traditional Indian cuisine. The Lamb Vindaloo was rich and spicy, with tender, melt-in-your-mouth meat. The Vegetable Biryani was fragrant, fluffy, and packed with a perfect blend of spices. The Aloo Gobi was a beautiful balance of textures, and the Meat Platter was a carnivore’s dream—each piece cooked to perfection, juicy, and incredibly flavorful. The service was just as impressive as the food—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, making sure we had everything we needed while still allowing us to enjoy our meal at a relaxed pace. Namaste Indian Cuisine is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Indian flavors in a beautiful setting with top-notch service. This spot has set the bar high, and I can’t wait to return!
Very nice cozy place in the heart of Palo Alto downtown with outdoor seating. Service was good. I ordered the Lasooni Chicken tikka which was good and as big a a meal. Topped it with Biryani which was very good with a lot of fried onions and good portions of chicken. The chai was pretty good as well
Delightful Indian restaurant run by a very friendly & welcoming Nepalese family. Both the starters and entree were excellent. Be aware, order the properly spiced curries instead of mildly spiced. The latter disappoints. Service is not rushed at all. Plenty of free public parking around the spot. Even on a peak evening weekend, wait time was just 20 minutes.
We tried Namaste for a date night dinner, and we were so glad we did! The ambiance inside was beautiful and romantic with gorgeous paintings on the walls, large sparkling chandeliers, and a handsome interior. We enjoyed all the dishes we ordered. The generous arugula salad contained a lot of avocado, beets, and goat cheese. The tender tandoori chicken and the flavorful sea bass curry were delicious. The service was attentive and friendly. We greatly enjoyed our wonderful dinner and definitely plan to come back and try more dishes! Thank you, Namaste!
My frequent dining experiences at Namaste Indian Cuisine have been exceptional. Located right on California Ave in Palo Alto, this cozy eatery exceeded all my expectations. The inviting aroma of spices is very welcoming, the tasteful decor is top-notch creating an ambiance that is warm and inviting. The host and staff are very friendly, attentive and welcoming. I've been to other Namaste locations in Los Gatos and Santa Cruz. All have great food and unique characteristics, this Palo Alto location looks like a fine dining establishment with superior setup and elegant ambience. Food at this location is probably one of the best Indian cuisines I've tried in US. Corn malai tikki, stuffed mushroom and paneer shashlik are my and my family's favorites. My daughter loves their butter chicken. Naan has the perfect texture and taste. We usually get Oyster Mushroom curry that my wife totally loves. The portion sizes were generous, and the quality of ingredients was evident in every bite. Overall, I can't recommend Namaste Indian Cuisine enough. Whether you're a seasoned fan of Indian cuisine or trying it for the first time, this restaurant is a must-visit.
We stumbled upon this place when looking for a good Indian restaurant that doesn’t serve same taste through all dishes and I am glad we chose this place absolutely delightfully different. The paneer shashlik was beautifully served with a side of 3 types of sauces the paneer was bit hard and not well marinated but the presentation was good. Then came the mix veg in coconut milk absolutely fantastic and flavourful. The malai kofta was a bit on the sweeter side but totally delicious. The garlic naan was decent. The mix veg came with a side of white rice, the rice was hard to chew. The staff was very very attentive, what really touch my heart was I requested for warm water and the person attending us got the 1st time and after a while. She was so kind and attentive she got another set of warm water glasses and I really appreciate that kinda attention. Apparently while chatting with the host we got to know the place is starting new and they really go the extra mile to get along the customer. The best part is there are a lot of options for vegetarians. The place is totally worth going again and again.
Namaste Indian Cuisine truly deserves a five-star rating! The service was impeccable. The stuffed lamb and mushrooms were absolutely delicious. The butter chicken was equally amazing, especially when paired with the soft, fluffy naan bread. Each dish was seasoned to perfection.
I see why Namaste has such strong reviews. Indian food, generally in my experience, can be passable just by being "good enough". Namaste takes particular care with the exact spice mixtures they use though, and it comes out in the quality of the food and complexity of the taste. Will absolutely return, delectable cuisine.
My friends organized a surprise birthday party for me at this beautiful Indian restaurant, and they couldn't have chosen a better place! The food was absolutely delicious (and I'm a huge fan of Indian cuisine!), and the waiters were so kind. They took many pictures of us and even let us use the restaurant after closing to take some extra birthday photos! Recommended especially if you’re a big group :)

Came on a Sunday for lunch with a reservation and was seated within minutes of entering door. We had Samosas, Palak Paneer, Butter Paneer and a Chicken Biriyani and a Garlic Naan. All delicious and some of the best of each plate we’ve had in the bay area. The Garlic Naan was so crispy and buttery delicious!

Authentic indian/nepalese food with great service. Outdoor dining space is nice too, specially during late evenings. Lots of veg and non-vegetarian options to choose from with some authentic Nepalese cuisines. Staffs were friendly and very polite. Beautiful place to dine in with friends and family. I recommend this place.

Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous! Everything I have eaten here is absolutely amazing. There are many menu items and I appreciated their vegetarian options. I wish the restaurant was closer and it is absolutely worth the drive. I do recommend stopping in and trying anything - I have yet to receive a mediocre dish here. Highly recommended. Park in the parking ramp on the next block and walk over, super easy. Seriously, check them out!
Just had dinner at Namaste. We are so impressed with their food! Very sophisticated tastes and flavors. We had three dishes and every one was absolutely delightful. Strongly recommend this restaurant. The service was also first class. Thank you Namaste, we will definitely be back!

Reunion lunch with friends, on a chilly Sunday. Staff were very patient with us as we chatted for hours, only sometimes with food in front of us. Just the right amount of checking in on how the food tasted... not too often nor infrequently. Garlic Naan was buttery and fresh, biryani, raita, aloo was served hot and tasty.
I visited Namaste Indian Cuisine on California Ave with colleagues, and it was a really pleasant experience. I ordered the Saag Paneer Thali, which included perfectly seasoned saag with cubes of soft paneer, dal, rice, naan, salad, and a little dessert , everything felt well-balanced and authentically cooked. To start, we had the Stuffed Mushrooms, the mushrooms were juicy and generously filled with a spiced, cheesy mixture that paired nicely with the mint chutney. We also tried the Corn Malai Tikki, which had a creamy, slightly sweet corn filling with a mild spice and crisp exterior delicious and light, yet satisfying. The staff was friendly and attentive, the ambiance calm but lively, and the overall meal felt like a really nice, mid-priced lunch spot. Would definitely come back for the thali and appetizers.
Great spot to have a good lunch with colleagues. We sat outside on a beautiful afternoon. The air was crisp and the service was warm. The menu is what you’d expect from a typical Indian restaurant - I went in for a lunch-friendly thali. It proved to be more than a lunch. The dal, curry and nan were delicious, so I took leftovers home. Lassi hit the spot. We had two appetizers - both were elegantly made, amazingly presented and very shareable.
So we had dal makhani, shahi paneer and garlic naan. It was served with rice. The best part honestly was the service though. Have not seen such a busy restaurant with such good service. Garlic naan was so nice. Lovely. Rice was nice too. The gravies were way too spicy for us but don't blame them for it though haha. Specially recommend the dal makhani. Did not like the texture of paneer though.
Visited for dinner. It’s a popular place, but we managed to get a table for two without any booking. We ordered shrimp vindaloo (with rice), roti, tandoori chicken everything was good. Regarding spice level, we went for medium spicy but it wasn’t spicy at all. So if you are an Indian go for spicy not medium. Food was really good though. Service was also very good. The ambience was nice. They had lovely instrumental music playing too
