The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed. They make their own guacamole and salsa and are happy to make changes to items on the menu. Definitely a 5 star restaurant.
We visited this place with 5 kids, a few among them on the severely allergic end for eggs. The waitress was very friendly, explained what food items to avoid, also that hard tacos are fried in the same oil as fish so it might be better to avoid the tacos when we wanted to order the Taco salad. Food service was quick, and delicious. Service extremely good. We left the place very happy. I would recommend this place highly. Their house red wine and margaritas were very good too. Thank you for providing us with Good food🙏
Great food, but even better service. They went out of their way to make sure our take out experience was as good as it could be! And the shredded beef is as good as I've ever had. We will certainly be back.
We had a large group and our server was incredibly accommodating and patient! The food was great and the atmosphere was clean and cute. I’ll be back!
First time here , and I loved it! Food is authentic , taste like if my Mexican grandma whipped it up! Price is fair , portions are great . Try it out! Staff is very nice as well
This little spot to eat is one of my absolute favorites in town! I eat here WEEKLY! I work right around the corner and when I’m craving Mexican food(which is often) I go here. The owners treat you like family. The food is amazing. Don’t miss out on this little spot. It’s truly so good!
The best food , for me is like a home made food Great location, friendly owner, pork habanero my favorite, pozole , tacos dorados, fish tacos , everything is Soo good, Highly recommended 100%
Small intimate place. Excellent food. Friendly staff. Will definitely return. If you like this restaurant, you should try their Atascadero spot, Fregos.
Amazing, amazing food! The host/server is so kind and the service is fast. The food is honestly quite impressive, authentic Mexican food done right. The price for quality is perfect, not too expensive and everything is so fresh!! You've gotta try the fish tacos. blew my mind for sure. There isn't a crazy drink selection or anything but the food is truly what shines here.
Absolutely amazing!! Found this spot online and thought we'd try it out. I can't explain how delicious the food was. I had the shrimp cocktail and it was by far the BEST I've ever had! (And I've had many). The shrimp was so fresh. The cucumber, tomatoes, onions and avocado were the perfect ingredients to finish it off. And the flavor. It was absolutely delicious. I mean delicious!!! My husband had the burrito Gordo. He said it was so fresh and filling. The salsa and chips were addicting. We ordered 2 servings. Last but not least, the micheladas. OMG!! perfect, perfect, perfect! We will definitely be back. Great food. Terrific customer service. Must try this place!!!!
Stopped in for lunch and the food was delicious. We had fish tacos and tostadas con ceviche. The flavors were perfect. The portions are very good. And the staff is friendly and helpful. This is a great place to eat.
Simply amazing. If you’re looking for some authentic Mexican food in slo county with good hospitality, make sure to come here! They are very friendly, treat you like family, and on top their food is the best in the town! If you’re looking for an authentic experience with good food and hospitality, don’t hesitate to have a meal here!
Great local mexican food! The owner is extremely nice and warm. They are always willing to give you exactly what you ask for. I love this place and we order from here regularly. The portions are big and the prices are very fair. If you are in the area, stop by, you won't be disappointed.
Great little spot away from the bustle of Spring Street, well worth the detour! We saw the 4.5 rating, but still weren't sure. The place looked closed at first, but when we walked in were warmly welcomed. Excellent Mexican food in a casual little place. Buen provecho!
Excellent service. Excellent food. Cute atmosphere. We sat on the porch in lovely weather on a quiet street. I had the chimichanga and it was delicious. My husband had the torta and said it was really good as well. Everything was fresh and homemade. The review about the bag chips and bottled salsa is totally off base. And I thought the refried black beans were amazing. I highly recommend if you are ever in the area.
Very cozy place with excellent food! The wait staff was wonderful! My husband and I were surprised that it wasn't packed. I think they need to dress up the outside a little too draw people in. Once you taste the good, though, you'll be hooked.
This place is small so keep this in mind if you're coming here with a large group. We had 11 people in our party and most of us sat out in the patio area while others sat inside. The waitress (didn't get her name) was friendly and accommodated us as best as possible. We ordered the trio nachos, chicken enchiladas, cheese quesadilla, taquitos and all were delicious. Would definitely recommend.
Real, authentic Mexican food. This was the best restaurant chile relleno I’ve ever had. The rice and beans are decent, I think a little more seasoning in the rice would make it better, but it was still good. The green salsa and chips were amazing as well. The Michelada was perfect and bigger than I thought it would be, so that’s always a plus! Definitely a spot you must try if you want GOOD Mexican food. Even the music was good!
Food was decent. Not many vegetarian options but server helped make couple of vegetarian dishes.
This is a great spot! Amazing food and wonderful service. My new favorite spot for chips and salsa and the best Quesabirria tacos I have had in town so far! I will definitely be coming back as a regular.
Delicious food! We got the carne asada street tacos, birria ramen, and guacamole. It was all super good.
Right across from The Piccolo Hotel, Habaneros is a (not so hidden) gem. Their staff is so friendly and helpful. The food is even better. We can’t say enough good things about the chicken enchiladas were perfect. Two accompanied with rice and beans, the chicken was fantastic and plentiful. The taco salad was a large, secretly bottomless dish. Highly recommend the al pastor on top. The hidden rice and beans on the bottom give it a little extra flavor. Definitely an easy visit and perfect for an afternoon mean with no fuss.
This small family owned restaurant has delicious food and a charming atmosphere. We enjoyed it.
Ordered the quesabirria tacos! They were amazing. Efficient staff and wait time. Thanks!
Looking for a spot to eat while on the road. Found this on the map app and it sounded good. We weren't disappointed. The place is small but a mom and her son running the place and doing a great job. My son and I had the wet Carne asada burrito. I loved it but he thought it was spicy. My other son had the chicken taquitos. Good sized portion. My wife had the shrimp/chicken/beef fajitas. She loved them. Glad we found the place. Will definitely come back.
I was surprised at how quiet it was at a 6pm on a Saturday night especially when the food and service is as wonderful as it is! We were passing through on our drive home and stopped for dinner. Its a darling little hole in the wall in a great location. More satisfying thab we couldve anticipated when choosing a spot so qyickly, we are so so glad we stopped here. Staff was kind and attentive and the food was delicious and filling. Absolutely a place I would recommend!
My work got takeout from here and it was amazing! If the rice & beans are good you know that the food is going to be 🔥🔥🔥 I got the potato taquitos. Both of their salsas were absolutely delicious. I really appreciate that they have vegetarian options & looove that they use potatoes!
Tacos ahogados with carnitas, papas, and authentic tortillas. Refried beans done right. Homemade chips. Flavorful fresh salsa. Arresting photos of Tejana woman and Emiliano Zapata on the wall. Its local clientele affirms this place is the real deal.
Delicious food! Great portion sizes, a lot of food. The staff was welcoming and attentive. Definitely recommend.
We have come several times from out of town and love the food and service! I ordered the TJ taco with el pastor and it’s huge with a handmade corn tortilla it’s the size of 3 tacos for a low price! It’s our favorite place in Paso!
Found this small little place. My Dad is very picky about his chili verde. He said it was in his top 3. The meat was so tender. I had chicken soft tacos. I could not finish it all. Great service.
Wonderful lunch at Habaneros, right across from the Piccolo Hotel. The generous portions prepared us for an afternoon of wine tasting. Super friendly service; fairly standard menu.

Ordered 3 tacos (they customized with chicken), taquitos platter and chips/Guacamole to go. All very fresh, clean and delicious. Top tier and definitely come back next time in town.
Visited with another couple just after Christmas. We were looking for Mexican, but something a little more upscale. Gave up and settled here. Probably the first time in my life that chips and salsa weren't served to the table (in a Mexican restaurant), and we were charged extra for hot sauce ($1 only, but still), but the chicken verde enchiladas were absolutely delicious, and I forgive them the rest. Would eat here again, but probably for lunch instead of dinner.
Had lunch here yesterday with the family. Nice and quiet place at least during lunch. It is a cozy spot with a few tables. The food was absolutely delicious. Some of the best Mexican food I have had in a while. We had the barbacoa beef and quesabirria tacos. Also had a margarita which was yummy and not overly priced.
This place is wonderful! Very cozy dining room and delicious food. My husband got the mole enchiladas, which had the perfect amount of cocoa flavor. I had the pozole, which tasted just like my dear friend's homemade recipe! Delicious, and loaded with plenty of meat, it also came with a little bowl of add-ins (you know I tossed all that good stuff in there, too!). Service was quick, and very friendly/welcoming. We will definitely be back for more!

Habaneros offers great, homemade Mexican dishes. They have a good variety. They also offer beer and wine, but no spirits. This meant no chance of a margarita with my tacos. It was also noisy inside. Patio dining on a warmer day would have made for a better experience. Overall, this is a great Mexican diner with fair prices.
The perfect stop after a long day. Just some good ole fashioned Tex Mex but with great service too! I had a Burrito smothered in sauce and cheese and my wife had a Chimichanga, which technically isn't on the menu but they were super cool about making one. You know a Tex Mex place is good when the Rice is good, so yeah I'd recommend stopping here!
Small, cozy restaurant. Service staff was friendly and attentive. My partner had the carnitas which were very good. I had the fish tacos which were just okay. Wanted to like the food more than I did.
Very nice decor. Small but classy. Our frajitas were delicious and margarita good(wine).excellent service.Menu is limited however one whole part is dedicated to shrimp. The salsa was a bit too spicy for us, but good.

We had a good lunch here. The food was tasty. Margaritas were good as well. Server was friendly. It’s a small place but our group of 5 got a table with issue. We would definitely come back here.
We have been coming here for a while now. Every trip to Paso, we’re always coming in for the “Great Food.” We were here in May 2023 and it was not the same. Disappointed. We are back in town and went there last night thinking, “maybe the last visit may have been an off day.” Well…sorry. Just below average. No flavor, no seasoning, rice and beans were bland at best. I can go on but I won’t. We will not be returning. So sorry, Habaneros.
Small, friendly, home style, Mexican eatery, one block from the center of town. Nice simple decor, polite efficient service, with a few items on the menu you might not see in a restaurant this size. Free street parking in front is easy. Convenient location for the nearby park and shopping. I had the pozole, it was tasty and a generous portion. A few tortillas would have been a nice plus.

This place has the worst Mexican food. Two tacos with no flavor. Beans and rice bland. Wife's margarita was super sweet and undrinkable. We were the only ones there, completely empty. Very expensive, $40 shared a plate with one drink. Seriously all these reviews are completely fake about how amazing the place is. The very worst, you should avoid.
I was passing through Paso Robles and decided to grab a burrito for the road. Big mistake. What I got was, hands down, the saddest burrito I’ve ever had! Just a pile of rice, maybe a spoonful of pinto beans, and a couple of thin avocado slices trying to pass as “filling.” No sauce, no seasoning, no effort.
The food was horrible. The birria tacos was full of fat and only 2 pieces of onions, broth was good, but corn tortillas were burnt with no sauce and barely any quesa, so little cheese I could barely see or taste it. The refried beans have been sitting in a pot all day as they tasted burnt. Rice had very little taste. We should have realized when we were the only ones in the restaurant at 5pm on a Saturday, left at 6pm and still no one. Meal was $50 and so not worth it. We were here on vacation and it was outstanding, must be new owners, when you leave hungry, not good.
