Fresh Bluefin and Bold Flavors at Biltmore If you’re looking for high-quality sushi with a modern twist in Phoenix, Bisutoro is a must-visit. The fish quality here is noticeably a step above your average sushi spot. They use actual Bluefin tuna, and you can really taste the difference in the melt-in-your-mouth texture. Chili Sesame Tuna: This was the standout. The presentation is beautiful, served with a large bowl of spicy ponzu in the center. The combination of the bluefin, yellowtail, and that citrusy-chili kick is perfect. Neo-Genesis Roll: A really unique fusion roll. The Korean Fluke and spicy salmon are super fresh, and the hit of Tajin and Sriracha on top gives it a nice "Arizona" flair without being overly spicy. The plating is "chef-kiss" level (great for photos!) and the atmosphere at Biltmore Fashion Park is upscale but still relaxed enough for a casual lunch or a date night. Pro Tip: Check out their Happy Hour (2–6 PM daily). It’s a great way to try these signature rolls at a better price point. Service: Attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Will definitely be back to try the Shōgun Roll next time!
AMAZING! We used to live in N Scottsdale so always went to Obon well let’s just say this one takes the cake and we won’t return to any of the traditional Obon locations most likely. The menu here is fire adding a lot of different and more elevated options than the sister locations. The sushi selection is really good and we truly enjoyed everything we got!!
I had crispy rice trio sampler and the Argentine Sizzling Rib eye. It was my first time here and came for dinner and it was amazing! My waitress melissa was super attentive and answered all of my questions. She's super nice! Hooked me up with the dessert on the go! I'll be definitely becoming back to try the other items that i was too full to eat!
You GUYS are my favorite sushi place in AZ!!! Everything is perfect, from drinks to appetizers to main entrees and to desserts!!!! You guys are doing an amazing job. 😍♥️ One thing might be helpful for some folks that don’t eat spicy food, the fried garlic chicken is to die for but can be very spicy, you can order it with 0 spicy! 🥵🤣 honestly, I never order chicken when I go to eat out, but the chicken here is the best I’ve ever had!!! 🤍
Had such a great time, came here to celebrate my birthday and the staff made sure to make my night amazing! Not only was the staff over the top great & friendly but the food was also fantastic! I highly recommend the crispy rice, and cheesecake for dessert! Thanks for giving me a great birthday experience!
Amazing restaurant! No compliments here, was beyond amazing!! Best food and will be coming back
This place is exceptional. Everything we ordered was fantastic. They also overheard it’s my birthday and brought out a special treat - how sweet is that?! Will definitely be back soon!
I visited Bisutoro for lunch - located in Biltmore Fashion Park, and I must say, it was a phenomenal experience. From the moment I walked in, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home. Now, let's talk about the food. The Yuzu Yellowtail Crudo was a real standout for me. The combination of kosho, ginger, and orange zest was a perfect balance, making for a deliciously refreshing dish. Next up was the Pressed Salmon Belly with Jalapeño and Truffled Ponzu Beech Mushrooms. The salmon was perfectly cooked, and the jalapeño added a nice kick of spice, while the truffled ponzu sauce complemented the mushrooms beautifully. The Spicy Garlic Noodles were another favorite of mine. The Northern Chinese spices and black vinegar gave the dish a unique flavor profile, and the cucumber and yu choy added a nice crunch to each bite. The Roasted Duck Bao Bun and Pork Katsu Bao Bun were also delicious. The crispy onion on the duck bun was a nice touch, and the spicy mustard on the pork bun added a nice kick of heat. The Bird Bao Bun was also a standout dish for me. The hafu, kewpie, scallion, and pickles all worked together to create a delicious combination of flavors. The Chili Sesame Tuna was another favorite of mine. The bluefin and yellowtail were both incredibly fresh, and the avocado and cucumber added a nice creaminess to the dish. The spicy ponzu, scallions, and cilantro added a nice kick of heat and freshness. Last but not least, the Citrus Spicy Salmon was a real showstopper. The combination of cucumber, jalapeño, yellowtail, avocado, lemons, green onion, and chicharrons all worked together to create a deliciously refreshing and flavorful dish. Overall, my experience at Bisutoro was outstanding. The staff was wonderful, and the food was absolutely delicious. The restaurant's ambiance is also noteworthy, with its chic and modern decor. Overall, Bisutoro is a fantastic dining experience that you don't want to miss.
Love, love, love! We would always go to Biltmore Fashion Park for shopping and enjoy their excellent restaurant selection. We thought they were missing an Asian concept, and BAM! The beautiful Japanese-American Obon Bisutoro popped up. Upon arrival, General Manager Frances greeted us with a big smile and made us feel so welcome into the newly constructed space. The decor is upscale but not stuffy, and the staff was so friendly! Our waitress Taylor was so helpful and knowledgeable with the menu items and gave great recommendations. We ordered the following: - Yuzu Yellowtail Crudo - Garlic Fried Chicken - Spicy Garlic Noodles with Northern Chinese spices, black vinegar, cucumber, and blanched yu choy - Steak Rice Bowl with the prime skirt, fresh wasabi, egg yolk, caramelized onion, and enoki. - Lobster Roll and Whitefish Roll - Espresso Martini - Black Velvet Cake All of our choices were delicious! Chef Paulo knows how to curate a menu, which shows in this concept. Please go check it out and give support to this new locally owned restaurant!
A lovely Fridate spot for me and my husband. Service has been super friendly and attentive each time. I love the modern take on Asian fusion menu items. The yellowtail appetizer was so good! I also loved the negi hama roll! 😋
One of the Biltmore's newest spots which brings a series of high end Asian to the Arcadia area including sushi and ramen. Mainly specializing in Japanese, the bamboo and teak wood accents dotted with snake plants and other greenery give a Zen, spa-like vibe throughout. This restaurant's speciality drinks revolve around Japanese whiskey which isn't common to see. Two of their best cocktails we had for the evening are the black dragon and kung-fu pandan. The black dragon being a Japanese whiskey type of old fashioned, with amaro and bitters, but the strength of the whiskey and bitters is turned into a smooth finish with black sesame, which paired great with the sea bass. The pandan is a rosé vodka based drink which was dangerous because you'd think you were drinking a non alcoholic tea it was so smooth. The ume mule is a plum whiskey base with yuzu citrus and ginger beer and is a good starting drink to have alone or with appetizers. The yuzu yellowtail was a refreshing appetizer to start with, having thin sashimi cuts with citrus-y yuzu and micro greens. The schezhuan chicken is dry spiced and amazing as is, though you can order sauces to pair it with. The chicken used are oyster pieces which have a lightly crunchy outside and are plump and juicy inside, and unlike other places, which can have inconsistent, smaller pieces be hard, dry and overly crisp, each piece on the plate was delicious start to finish and consistent in texture, juiciness and thickness. The Chilean sea bass was light and flakey with a mild sauce that complimented the fish without overwhelming it, and the Korean harvest bowl is a vegetarian style bibimbap that is very aromatic and flavorful. A pretty rare dish that isn't seen often in restaurants was the Hainanese chicken rice which is a part of this menu. Originating from Hainan, China, it is a staple of households in Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia, and, for those of you who are Asian, it's just like the chicken rice your Singaporean auntie and uncle make. The restaurant offers coffee and other café drinks to pair with dessert, such as the black velvet cake. This cake isn't overly sweet and is a fusion of (if I remember correctly) Chinese black vinegar, wine and overall has a rich chocolatey taste. The restaurant also serves wagyu steak for a higher premium and plans to eventually bring dry aged fish to the menu. The wait staff are knowledgeable about the menu and are happy to answer any questions you have regarding anything. The service overall was fantastic and will definitely be returning to try the rest of the drink and food menu, along with another bowl of that schezhuan chicken.
Excellent place with a good happy hour. Mother daughter lunch at HH prices. I will need to go back for date night. Good service, good prices, considering where they are located, well executed cocktails.
Delicious Asian fusion cocktails and bites. The pandan cocktail packed a citrusy punch with a nice pandan finish. The steak tartare was my favorite. It reminded me of the flavors in fresh poké. The sushi rolls were inventive and tasty especially the spicy citrus. The miso cod lettuce wraps were also a hit on our table. I would skip the haianese chicken. It was more like fried chicken with a sweet chili sauce on it.
Boyfriend and I had an incredible experience at Bisutoro. All the food was super fresh and high quality and we were incredibly impressed with the service. Shoutout to Melissa for walking us through the menu and providing us with expert level recommendations 🥰🙏🏻 She was incredible, and made our experience top notch. Highly recommended to anyone who loves seafood! ❤️
Amazing atmosphere pricing was perfect for a getaway. Had 3 rolls, and they were all very tasty ..Derek was a great service for our table ..the water was even classy ...
Such an inviting and comfortable sushi spot nestled in the Biltmore shopping center. Went after lunch on a Saturday and it wasn't busy. The food here is carefully created and it's bursting with flavors. Started with the baked crab rolls, which were to die for. Covered in a spicy Sriracha and comes with a tangy soy based dipping sauce, 10/10. The Korean BBQ wings, just order them, 10/10. The odon ramen was very tasty, a little smokier than I like. However, the pork was crispy and tasty, asking with the egg, 7/10.
We had a good time here. The waiter was a little slow, but the food was great. The tuna was fantastic, and if they write spicy they mean spicy:)
I highly recommend the honey glazed salmon plate and the citrus spicy almonds sushi roll. I wish I had taken photos as the presentation was spectacular. Our server, Angela, was pleasant and attentive.
We loved this place! Our group tried a wide range of items off the menu and everything was delicious. Great Japanese tap beers. We will be eating here again next time we are in the area!
Great service, unique menu that is so delicious, and tasty cocktails. I've been here twice and will definitely go back. Miso cod is always amazing and the chicken fried rice was great. The fish on the nigiri is very fresh and tender, no idea why other reviewers said it wasn't good, it's the freshest I've had in Arizona.
Excellent sushi! The atmosphere was great, music wasn't blasting, food was delicious and our server was wonderful. We chatted with the manager to express our enjoyment. Definitely will return when we visit Phoenix again.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding Experience at Bistrot in the Biltmore I recently hosted a retirement party for my colleagues at Bistrot in the Biltmore, and once again, it was an absolutely fantastic experience. This was my second time hosting an event here, and it exceeded expectations all over again. Michael, the manager, was exceptional. From the very beginning, he went above and beyond—he even gave me his personal cell number and patiently answered what felt like a million questions. He never rushed me and made me feel truly welcomed and supported throughout the entire planning process. The private dining room is beautiful—very upscale, open, and perfect for a special gathering. Our host Elda was amazing, attentive, and made sure everything ran smoothly. The food was delicious, served on time, and the pricing was very reasonable, especially for the quality and service. Every single person in our group loved the experience. If you’re looking for a place to host a private party or special event, I cannot recommend Bistrot highly enough. Professional, warm, delicious food, and a flawless experience from start to finish. I will absolutely be back again.
I just want to say what a great experience! The specialty rolls are absolutely amazing! I recommend the neogenesis if you like spicy sushi rolls! The staff are super friendly and the sushi is super fresh. I have eaten at many sushi restaurants in the valley and this place is by far my favorite! Big shout out to Jillian my waitress as she was more than accommodating and Manager Michael recommending some amazing mystery sake. Definitely coming back!
Nice place with great decor and ambiance. Good selection of sake, definitely enjoyed the bottle we got. In all, we (two of us) got a bottle of sake, pot stickers, a bao, a bluefin dragon roll and bowl of ramen. Total was about $110; the sake was about $30 (whole bottle, remember). Enjoyed the sushi roll, pot stickers and bao. (The bao did have mayo(?) in it, I don't mind but it seems to be a sticking point for some.) Did not get to try the ramen, but was told that it was "okay." Short version: Good food, great service, slightly pricy, but on par for the area.
Absolutely incredible experience! The food was amazing; everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. The staff was super friendly, attentive, and quick, making the whole evening smooth and enjoyable. We were seated right away and decided to go big, ordering about 8 appetizers and 5 main courses. The portions were generous, every dish was spot on, and the entire bill was just a little over $200.00 which felt like an amazing value for the quality and amount of food we enjoyed. From start to finish, everything beyond exceeded expectations. This will definitely be one of our go to spots whenever we’re back in Scottsdale/Phoenix area. Highly recommend!
We sat in a separate room, it was very comfortable, cozy. In general, the party was super; awesome fresh tuna cut in front of us, all the staff is very neat, and were dressed professionally. The cooks in the kitchen cooked in the open kitchen. Everything is clean, professional and very tasty. Overall, an amazing experience and would definitely go again.
Had a dope waiter who took good care of us. Vibes were the best, food was really solid though Sydne completely knock my taste buds out like the vibes had me expecting. Either way I’d definitely check out and recommend for a date night. We had our one year old with us too, and they were really accommodating and that was great. I had an old Fashion and it was, again, like a really solid ok. Not the best I’d had but good. Altogether, it was a good experience. Check it out for sure.
Food was amazing. Great atmosphere. I sat at the bar and was disappointed in the time I sat unattended. At these prices, customers expect close attention. The cucumber salad is the best I’ve ever had.
I ordered the Miso Cod, which was nice. It is baked then pan seared to blackened. Served on a bed of veggies. It was a little sweet to my preference, but good overall. I wish there was a side of rice with it. I also tried their fried chicken and spicy garlic noodles for appetizers (came as a part of group). Both were excellent. It actually tasted better than the main course. I also got their Pineapple Express for a drink, which was fantastic. Waiters are extremely nice and helpful. Good experience overall
Food was great, but they are just so understaffed, everyone is busy and the wait time is still ridiculous long. We end up have to take one of our appetizers on the go because it wasn’t ready and we had finished our main course and was just waiting for over 20 minutes. Will visit again because food is very delicious! I loved the shrimp dish! But probably will avoid the busy hours 😂
Celebrated our 15th anniversary. Great menu selection and service. Delicious cocktails. Try the cod butter lettuce cups. Ramen was legit. Sashimi flavor and quality was average, hence 4/5 stars.
My manager and I checked out this place for lunch on a Friday and we were basically the only people in the entire joint other than the few employees we saw. Since we were the only people in the restaurant, the service was quick and our server was always available. As everything is nowadays, every item was super expensive but they did have a lot of options for everyone on the menu. Lots of sushi roll options, ramen, bao buns, etc. The sushi rolls sounded super boujee and I almost couldn’t pick anything because they all had ingredients I wasn’t familiar with. I ended up ordering the snow flake roll and the pork katsu bao bun. The snow flake roll sounded on the tamer side and didn’t have any spicy sounding ingredients. My manager ordered one of the ramen bowls. Fortunately, my hunch about the snow flake roll was correct. It wasn’t spicy at all and I quite enjoyed it. Each piece was thick, yet each component was balanced nicely. It was super filling too, which was a good thing because after one bite of the pork bao bun, I couldn’t eat anymore because it was almost impossible to chew, let alone bite into. The outside coating was not it and the inside tasted and felt like rubbery fat. It was rubbery and stringy all at the same time. I appreciated how massive the thing was, but I honestly don’t know how one attempts to eat a bao bun that’s overflowing with a thick cut of meat. Do you fork and knife it? Do you eat it like a taco? I don’t know but if you were to eat it like a taco, you’d need a pretty big mouth. The bao bun was a disappointment, but at least I enjoyed the sushi and it filled me up. My manager also enjoyed his ramen. Nice atmosphere, nice service, nice-ish food (but very nice, boujee presentation).
Stopped by for happy hour with our pup and had a lovely dinner on the patio! Not only was the service great, but everything was delicious and came out quickly. We got the gyoza, short rib bao bun, and baked crab roll w/ spicy mayo. The food was a little expensive for the portion sizes (e.g., $10 for 1 bao bun), but it was tasty enough that I wasn’t disappointed. I will definitely be back to try more from their menu.
What a great spot! Loved the various dishes I tried here. Will be back in the future 🙌 Going with a 4/5 only because, for the price, I would expect the drinks to have a little more punch to them.
The food was decent and I liked the atmosphere. My only complaint was that my order was messed up and I sat there without food for a while, while everyone else got theirs, then I got the wrong food. They made it right and took some things off of the bill which helped.
The service was excellent and very accommodating. Led us on a quick tour of the menu and helped us with drinks. The atmosphere is great and has a nice ambiance. The weakest part of our dinner was the sushi & nigiri. The rice lacked vinegar flavor and structural integrity, and it fell apart as soon as you picked up. The shogun roll looked nice but was bland. I was also disappointed for the price point. You are not getting fresh wasabi. The bao bun has great flavor, but for $10 for a single serving was not worth it. The miso cod & katsu were excellent though. The cod had incredible flavors and it was soft & tender. I would skip the sushi & nigiri here and just go for the entrees instead. The garlic noodles were superb and a great dish to share with the table as well.
The service was quite poor, had to reorder/check in on items more than once, our server changed mid-meal with no handoff. Out of ingredients for 1/3 of their cocktail menu. The prices were reasonable and portions were large but overall not the experience we expected.
I literally felt sick after eating here. Our rolls were a little soggy, the short rib and pork katsu bao buns were over cooked and dry, we weren’t offered soy sauce, ginger or wasabi… drinks were terrible (we had to send one back) and service was sloooooooooow. Unfortunately I don’t believe we will be returning.
First with the bad, the food is overpriced for what you get. I've been to better Asian restaurants around the valley. The salmon nigiri was good but thinly sliced for being $15 for 2 pieces. We also had the spicy citrus roll which was okay because it didn't have any balance to the spice or yellow fish and salmon. The lobster tempura was far too greasy and mushy to be appetizing. The ramen was okay, you can find better ramen for a better price too. The noodles were overcooked and the meat was too dry. The gyoza was good though. The service from the sushi bar and the waitress was lovely. They were very helpful and attentive.
I left a reservation 16 days before, and they texted me as I got there saying their system overbooked them. Couldn’t even tell you about the food but i’m pissed and complaining :)
Nice staff, but food quality doesn’t match the price. $80 for 1 basic handroll, bowl of noodles, and a drink during happy hour. The drink was the yummiest part of the meal lol. TONS of gnats around the restaurant, and I watched a few fly straight into the soy sauce containers!!! Management might want to address the gnat issue before a health inspector does. Definitely better sushi bars in the area.
They do not accept open table reservations although they are listed!! We did get a table this is a gorgeous restaurant but that’s where it ends. Average food service was so-so. Just an actual place nothing special. We had appetizers: yellow tail and crispy rice trio Dinner was sushi and the beef short rib pasta. We asked the food attendant to course out our meal which didn’t o
Sorry in advance for the essay to anyone reading. TLDR: high prices, mid food, server was nice though. This place was utterly disappointing. Just moved to the area and looking for a new sushi spot. This one looks beautiful but lacks substance. We were there during happy hour so I wanted to try a few things while my girlfriend got the tonkatsu ramen. First thing I got was the miso, which was 7$. Pretty high for a miso but I thought maybe it would be a very good miso. Wrong. It had no tofu and 3 pieces of wakame and just a regular miso flavor. The crispy salmon’s rice was not crispy. Additionally, the smoked salt added no smokiness and INTENSE saltiness that was just not enjoyable. The gyoza was standard with a nice mignonette on the top. The spicy tuna maki was so lacking in spice that I thought I had ordered the wrong maki and got regular tuna. Our waiter confirmed it was the right one and offered sriracha. lol. The tonkatsu’s flavor was good, but both the bowl and spoon had an overwhelming smell of cleaning solution. Not sure if it had been just freshly cleaned before serving but for me, the aroma while eating the broth gave dishwater and so I didn’t continue eating it. The pork was also tough. And maybe it’s petty to mention this as well, but the soda was flat. Last, we sat at a high top toward the front. When the sun went down outside, they also turned down the lights in the restaurant, which is common and normally fine but it left our table in VERY low light. Other tables had lights above them. The hostess walked over with a light and proceeded to put it on the empty table next to us. Later our waiter did notice us in the dark and brought us one of the lights. Overall Pros: our waiter was lovely and the food came out fast. Our total during happy hour came out to 64$ before tip. Not too crazy but for what we got, it seemed high and we can get better quality and flavors at a lower price elsewhere.
We ate dinner here for a friend’s birthday. Our server was very friendly and started out strong. Our appetizers were pretty good but everything took like 30 minutes to come out. Our entrees lacked flavor and for the price point everything was we were all very disappointed and don’t think I’ll be returning.
Here is my experience for this sushi place i let it passes a day before i review with my anger i want myself to cooldonw for a day before writing down my review to make it fair this is was my first time there with my father in law and my husband, and my 2 years old baby, my father in law from Seattle, WA to see us in Arizona and he loves sushi and so I search for sushi place and I picked this place because it look professional sushi place and it look good inside but It was so disappointed, I had tryed lots of sushi places and this place is put me down For that crazy price with small pieces of sushi 🍣 and the quality is not that good! for that price more than that took almost an hour to make sushi for us( do they busy? = No!) I was thinking oh they sushi most be so good but no But seem like they fly to Japan to grow some rice and catch some uni and yellow tail , salmon for us that's why they took so long to serve us and service is soooooooooo slow 🐌 onec they show up with ours foods i was so exciting to see my sushi but onec i see it my face was smiling then it turn to confusing face and however I been ask them for a spoon and a bowl for my 2 years old baby and they never bring any for him and even i ask for bills check take so long and onec I put my card to the check book they takes another 10 minutes then I have to bring that check book myself to give to server any with this crazy price we aren't get full ,we decided to leave because if we order more foods or sushi this might take a year to get ours foods . Anyway I recommend you to go somewhere else there 100 places lots better than this place worth to go , worth to pay, worth to enjoy , Oh wait but I have to give a credit to Uni ! That was very fresh Uni and sweet ! , but it not worth to go back for this place... I have pictures and records to show that they wasn't that busy and pictures of menu which we ordered.. it was easy to make for this tiny sushi but why it takes so long and so pricy! A people that gives this place 5 stars they most be never try another sushi place lolz 😂
My husband and I went last night for dinner. We sat outside. It seemed the female server was training a new server. After 15 minutes of waiting outside and having not received water (after we were told they would bring it right out), we left. The server touched her tables multiple times inside. Seems she forgot we were outside. When we left the female manager was leaning up against the expo. They were clearly not that busy for us to have been forgotten. The manager, 2 servers, trainee and bartender did not notice we left.
Got completely berated by a waitress because I asked for her number lmao the waitress respond by announcing out loud how much I tipped and said it wasn’t enough. Even after trying to de escalate the situation and requesting the waitress to stop she continued on. The assistant manager then supported her associates actions do not go here
This was a very disappointing visit. We had an 8:30 reservation and a nearly empty restaurant, and it took more than an hour to even order our food. We had to get up twice to ask to be assisted, and we could see our waiter just hanging out with other workers instead of helping our table. If you’re busy I’m always happy to wait, but for a 55 dollar restaurant week deal this isn’t worth your money. Food was average, service was rough and we will not be returning. Kind of a waste of money, truthfully.
We got reservation at 8:45pm and when we got there they said that have to check us in and text me when table is ready. They said that it will take 30 minutes to 1 hour for us to get a table. A bunch of people was told this too with reservations. We all responded that is the opposite of what having a reservation means and it was same as a walk in. When we finally got our table out server never came back after getting our food and drinks to ask if we need a refill or how is the food. We had to ask twice to drink refill and both times it took 30 minues ( soda and water ). We had to ask for wasabi and soy sauce twice and server only gave wasabi and i had to just take a soy sauce bottle on a free table. THE RESTAURANT IS A FINE DINING SUSHI!!! We should never ask for soy sauce or wasabi when ordering sushi!
So disappointed with our family dinner tonight. We were excited for what we thought would be a food adventure, but it turned out to be a letdown from start to finish. The $22 ramen tasted like it came straight from the Dead Sea — way too salty to eat. When we asked for it to be fixed, the manager came out defensive and rude, without even hearing us out. After realizing we weren’t asking for a refund, just a correction, he replaced the broth — but it was still inedible. The nigiri was fine, but everything else, including the overpriced ribeye, was just mediocre. For the cost and hype, I expected way better. I don’t just feel disappointed about the food — I feel like we wasted our time. Definitely not coming back.
