One of the best Restaurants i know. Every dish is well created - it is obvious that the dishes were designed by a highly sophisticated cook. Although it‘s used to be very busy, all waiters are super friendly and attentive, they will always find time to answer your questions on dishes/drinks. The prices are very fair and did not raise within the last 3 years. We loved everything we ate there, especially the chocolate and apple cake (absolutely unique!!), as well as the tuna and fassona tartar, the ossobuco, tuna steak and the current version of their Linguine B.Cavalieri. We are convinced that all waiters are absolutely great but we were especially impressed by one of them (unfortunately forgot his name…) who spoke very decent english. This is probably the best waiter we ever had, he can give in-depth Information on every dish and wine they offer. He helped us with our decision when we were uncertain about what to choose and offered us options that we did not concider before based on the wine or antipasti we chose. This is what I call a professional Restaurant! At the same time the atmosphere is casual so that everyone can feel welcome. Thank you for these incredible dining experiences! We were driving from France and needed to stop for lunch. I found this place on Google and it was such a great find! The town is beautiful, and this restaurant is right on a pretty quiet square. I had the pesto pasta which was amazing. The freshly baked bread and aioli was SO tasty. Great vibes, and our waiter was lovely.

LOCATION 5/5: Da Gillo is situated in the perfect location, nestled in the heart of a medieval borgo. It creates a captivating ambiance, reminiscent of entering a greenhouse, which adds a touch of romance. Whether it's lunch or dinner, the setting is truly enchanting. SERVICE 3/5: The service at da Gillo was commendable, and we were treated with utmost kindness throughout our visit. The staff was attentive and ensured our needs were met. FOOD 2/5: Unfortunately, the food was the disappointment of our experience. Although the ingredients were of high quality, the execution of the recipes fell short. We had high expectations based on the menu but were left wanting. For example, I ordered the tuna cube rolled in speck. The saltiness of the meat was not balanced by the coulis and burrata, and the combination didn't quite harmonize. The biggest letdown, however, were the first courses: linguine with sea urchins and spaghetti aglio, olio, peperoncino with tartare of mazzancolle. The linguine were excessively salty, and the sea urchins had an overpowering taste that became nauseating after a few bites. The spaghetti were overwhelmingly garlicky, making it impossible to appreciate the mazzancolle. Maybe we just made a poor choice on the menu, so we will see if the ocasion will take us there again!

Service was mediocre, nobody seemed to care, had multiple servers, I just kind of felt unwanted 🤷🏻‍♂️ Primi, spaghetto “B. Cavalieri,” was flavorful but the catch of the day Ligurian style was underwhelming. Fish was dry, overall dish was lacking flavor.

We weren't welcome here even though a table just became available. I didn't understand their explanation, "we're closing this round", and they weren't very nice about it. Disappointing.
