We stumbled upon it by chance, but we couldn't have been more satisfied. The kindness and customer service were unmatched by other restaurants in the area (and, given the heat, they even provided a bowl of water for us, knowing we were bringing a dog). The food was delicious, with generous portions, plenty of options, including vegetarian options. The owner and waiter were incredibly friendly, the bill was absolutely reasonable, and the wine was good. Absolutely the best place we ate during our vacation.

We discovered this place while asking for directions to a restaurant where we could try the valley's typical dishes. They recommended Rita's Sogno, what a wonderful find! The owner welcomed us, even though the place was packed and they were having trouble getting service due to the limited availability of waiters. The owners' kindness is definitely the restaurant's distinguishing feature, as is their care in explaining the dishes and looking after us throughout the dinner. The food was simple but excellent, and the bill was particularly reasonable. We'll definitely be back!

The menu lacks only one item: courtesy, which is offered free of charge in the excellent service. We had an excellent lunch, with homely yet refined and traditional cuisine. Highly recommended. The only problem is that it's located in a back alley off Piazza della Vittoria, and the house number isn't 20. But just ask and you'll find it right away.

It was a bright and sunny day in Sampeyre for the Baio Festival. Despite the overwhelming influx of tourists, we managed to find a table. The fixed menu (today only) included an appetizer, first course, second course, half a bottle of wine, and coffee for €25.00. Sparkling wine was not included. The wait staff were quick to take orders, and the owners were very friendly and demonstrated their understanding of the virtues of hospitality. Recommended, and then... we'll definitely be back.

Animal lovers.. we booked for 3 informing that we had the dog.. as soon as we arrived kibbles and a bowl of water for our dog 😊 ..a really nice welcome. Friendly, familiar and very kind staff. Good food, homemade and reasonably priced. I didn't take photos of the second course which was wild boar and polenta and the dessert which was an eggnog mousse with caramel... because as soon as I smelled the scent... I stuffed myself 🤣 To those looking for a rustic, characteristic place with local dishes... I highly recommend it ❤

Located in the heart of Sampeyre, this family-friendly restaurant serves traditional dishes, served by attentive, helpful, and always friendly owners. The menu ranges from delicious sampeyrotti (vegetable-filled crepes) to classic Piedmontese appetizers like sweet semolina, peppers with anchovy sauce, and fresh tomini cheese with caramelized onion. The menu also includes traditional first courses, from ravioli to tajarin, and mountain-style second courses, starting with the ever-present wild boar with polenta, spicy tripe, and other specialties. Everything is served on large platters or pans to share. A special mention goes to the desserts, which are strictly homemade. With the option of sampling all the hot and cold appetizers and then moving straight on to dessert, including wine, water, and coffee, we paid €25 per person. A more than reasonable price. The restroom is kept clean and located outside the dining room entrance.

Quality home cooking. Fast service despite the restaurant being busy. Excellent value, but with more elaborate menu options if desired. Ideal for everyone. Impeccably clean. Reservations are recommended on holidays. Family-run restaurant. Easy to get to with parking nearby in the adjacent square. Under the porticoes of the square, straight under the arch for 20 meters and you're there.

This is a CANTEEN with the prices of a tourist restaurant. A place suitable for those over 60 (not all) who just want to eat something and be greeted and greeted with a smile. Reason for my rating: As soon as you enter, you're not given a paper menu, but a young girl, a novice, comes over with a notepad and pen and suggests what they want, given that the next table has different dishes. We order an appetizer and wait AN HOUR before anything is brought, even though the place is half empty. You might think the wait is worth it, but instead we get a Piedmontese-style mixed fried fish, tasteless and greasy, with sampeyrotti that seem reheated. We move on to the first courses and the gnocchi, which we ask to be served more quickly. The waitress comes directly to the table with the pan of these gnocchi immersed in a cream and butter sauce that splashes everywhere. We had to move our coats to avoid damage. I won't even tell you what the taste is!! We move on to the main course, where we order wild boar with potatoes. I regret not taking a picture of the potatoes to show you, because the ones at McDonald's are a masterpiece in comparison. They're so soft and greasy that we absolutely refused to eat them. The wild boar is the only redeeming feature, but the portions are truly paltry. We skip dessert to avoid any further unpleasant surprises and move on to coffee, which the waitress spills on the table as she serves it, capping off our experience in style. The cashier offers no apology, making us pay every penny. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!

Looking for a place for a modest dinner on a warm July evening, we found this restaurant on the maps, with positive reviews and images of inviting dishes, but Google shows it closing at 8:00 PM. Seeming strange, we went to check it out for ourselves: from the outside, it was deserted. We decided to go in anyway, and a gentleman greeted us, regretfully offering us the set menu due to the lack of staff. The menu included appetizers through dessert, excluding drinks, for €25. All in all, it didn't seem like a bad offer, and he kindly showed us to a table for two. The show began. Clearly inexperienced and unprofessional girls served us a (ONE!) slice of salami, followed by another girl with a (ONE!) 2cm x 2cm square of omelette and a (ONE!) spoonful of their famous beans. Pointing out that we're eating very quickly (how long would it take you to eat a slice of salami?), they take our plates away to serve us the first course: gnocchi officially Valmaira-style, but clearly gnocchi with cream, which only an excessive amount of Parmesan cheese could save. Still, it's still the best dish of the evening. They kindly serve us an extra helping of bread, directly from the basket on our tablecloth. And so we move on to the second course: pork loin with potatoes. Frozen from the start, but more importantly, so badly fried that I've rarely had worse in my first years as an out-of-towner at university. Finally, dessert: this time, a wide choice of bunet, gelato, and crème caramel. Unfortunately, we both order the bunet, without having had the chance to try the other options, but what can I say? Maybe it's better this way. As we paid, we read next to the register that the official menu would have only included the typical appetizer, the first course of the day or gnocchi, and the second course of the day with a house side dish, so we wondered what the difference was between that and tonight's offering. Back home, we read other reviews late and discovered that the "unexpected staff issue" wasn't just a one-off tonight, but has been used as an excuse for a while now. With the classic "I'm giving one star because I can't give zero," we suggest not going to this place, which enjoys an excellent reputation from days long gone by!
