I signori che si alternano dietro al bancone sono gentilissimi e molto attenti a fare la focaccia migliore possibile, non lesinano mai sulla quantità degli ingredienti, sempre freschissimi, e prima di servirla la piastrano per renderla sempre calda e croccante. Che dire, focacce davvero deliziose ad un prezzo più che onesto, servite da persone meravigliose.

Nella zona storica di Genova è incastonata una piccola perla ma di enorme valore culinario e tradizione, la focaccia di Angelo è buonissima croccante fuori e morbida dentro , calda è uno spettacolo e il suo gusto ricco, poi i connubi e le combinazioni di queste focaccie farcite sono veramente gourmet, prezzi onesti per le. materie prime che usa, lui persona squisita , veloce , e ci siamo trovati bene a chiaccherare con lui mentre mangiavo queste squisitezze, ci torneremo sicuramente alla prossima visita a Zena.

Il proprietario é molto gentile, mi capita spesso dopo le serate di andare qui con amici e prendere varie focacce, nessuna opzione nel menù é vegana ma solitamente la personalizzo senza problemi, con pomodori e cipolle ad esempio o altro. La qualità degli ingredienti é ottima e si vede che lavorano con passione. Prezzi molto onesti.

location Piazza delle Erbe, un posto tranquillo, per lo meno durante il giorno, dove poter gustare un ottimo prodotto genovese, come, appunto, la focaccia farcita proposta da Vecchia Genova, c'è l'imbarazzo della scelta, c'è anche un'ottima scelta per le focacce vegetariane. Consiglio di provare, assolutamente! Io ci sono stata oggi e conto di ritornarci. Grazie ai proprietari, pazienti e cordiali.

La parte difficile è stata scegliere solo una delle decine di focacce proposte. Poi, è stato tutto facile. Poca attesa, prezzo ragionevole, servizio piacevole da parte del proprietario. E la posizione è geniale, che siate genovesi, turisti, studenti fuori sede, prima o poi ci valuterete e vorrete mangiare lì tutti i vostri pasti.

Sono stato in questa focacceria durante le vacanze a Genova e la focaccia è ottima, mai mangiato una cosa simile. Sicuramente quando tornerò a Genova ci rifarò un salto e porterò dei miei amici con me. Personale gentile ed educato, molto disponibile!

Originale, simpatico e buonissimo! Queste focacce farcite sono un tripudio per le papille gustative! Mai assaggiato nulla del genere. Considerando poi che, prima che il brillante creatore di questo nuovo presidio dell'eccellenza gastronomica iniziasse questa gestione, quella precedente era esattamente l'opposto su tutti i fronti, questa é la migliore sorpresa di sempre! ASSOLUTAMENTE DA PROVARE!! Bravo!!

This is a classic little sandwich shop with a small counter behind which your delicious sandwich will be assembled, and a handful of stools along the opposite wall for dining in (such as it is). This is really a takeaway business. And what a business it is! They make sandwiches and that’s it. Created with top quality ingredients on pillowy focaccia. I had turkey with an artichoke cream and the big guy had mortadella (his fave) with straciatella cheese and pistachios. We were both very happy and quite full as these sandwiches are big. Grab lunch there - you’ll be glad you did!

Lovely place! Grabbed two panini for the roadtrip home but it was really difficult to not just eat it all straight away - 'cos it smelled so good! Was lovely and warm and was still amazing even when we ate it a few hours later. Amazing service, the lady was so sweet and helpful! 10/10, I recommend it to anyone!

Great sandwiches! We already went twice to get lunch at this place. Next to a big collection of meat sandwiches, there are also at least five vegetarian options. The eggplant sandwich was amazing! Service was nice and fast. We can really recommend this place.

The most filling sandwich in all of Genoa! Very friendly atmosphere and excellent service, but since the sandwich is made by hand, you’ll have to wait a bit longer. But it’s definitely worth it! After eating it for breakfast, I felt full the entire day, even with a lot of physical activity. The selection is wide, and if you enjoy simple but delicious dishes, you’ll definitely be satisfied! 10/10

Perfect lunch spot! I tried the “Foce” with ham, pesto and potato and it was delicious! The portion was very generous, but I just had to eat the whole thing because it tasted so good. My gf tried the Sant’Ilario (substituted the mortadella with ham) and said she would “take a bullet” for that sandwich😆 Very charming little shop and the owner(?) was very sweet. We will definitely come back!

5-Star Review for Vecchia Genova What a gem of a sandwich shop! I’m by no means an expert on Italian food, but the sandwich I had here was absolutely incredible. The bread was light and fluffy, and the ingredients were super fresh and full of flavour. The pesto and potato cream added something really special—it took the sandwich to another level! For just €7, the portion was more than generous, and the quality far exceeded my expectations. What really stood out was the care and attention the guy behind the counter put into making it—you could really see the love that goes into every sandwich. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favour and stop by. It’s well worth it!

As an Australian with Italian heritage, I’ve had a LOT of focaccias. I found this little corner shop in Piazza Erbe and was so blown away by the focaccias, that went back the following day. Without a doubt, the best focaccias I’ve ever had anywhere. The bread is fresh and lightly toasted to give a crunch whilst being soft in the middle. The fillings are mouthwatering, very traditionally Italian and so fresh. I had both the Mandraccio and the Vecchia Genova. I couldn’t recommend these focaccias any more, they’re amazing and the owner Angelo is a very friendly and hospitable man.

Such a hidden gem! We found this small place so randomly and we went inside and OMG! The focaccia sandwiches were AMAZING! There are around 10 sandwiches in the menu, however the owner was kind enough to let us add more stuff in. There weren’t any vegan options on the menu, but he made modifications and it turned out to be the most delicious sandwich I’ve had in a while. It’s a must visit!

I wanted to try a typical focaccia from the region, so I picked one with pesto, mashed potatoes (yes, really), and ham. The individual ingredients were good, but the lack of pesto and overload of mashed potatoes made it a bit underwhelming. I think another focaccia would’ve been a better choice. That said, the base ingredients seem high quality, and the staff was very friendly. A decent experience, but not unforgettable.

Decided to get lunch here. The sandwiches are very large, all built into Genovese focaccia, which is very fluffy and delicious. The woman who worked there was very sweet. The only downside is that we found the sandwiches to be very salty. I guess it was the meat itself, but if you are very picky about your salt levels you might not like them.

Il luogo è molto pittoresco e piacevole. Il proprietario è gentile, paziente e fornisce un servizio rapido. Il panino non è male, ma per i miei gusti era troppo salato. Peccato, le aspettative erano alte, non solo per la buona atmosfera del posto, ma anche per le buone recensioni.

We went there because of the outstanding reviews.. Well its nothing special. The focaccia was dry and lacking in stuffing and flavour. It costs 8 euros. But at least it was really big!

Focaccia farcita buonissima! L’unica pecca è la poca simpatia del signore che mi ha servita. Nel momento in cui mi è stata servita una delle due focacce ordinate ho fatto una semplice e gentile richiesta: un sacchetto per portare via il cibo da asporto. Con la classica simpatia che contraddistingue certi genovesi, il signore mi risponde stizzito “eh ma potevi dirmelo prima”. Io rispondo “guardi le ho solo chiesto il sacchetto, non mi pare di averle parlato male” dando via a una serie di mugugni poco piacevoli da parte del proprietario/signore che ci ha serviti. Come ho detto all’inizio, la qualità del cibo è ottima; c’è moltissima scelta ed è tutto buonissimo MA trovo davvero brutto arrivare a rispondere così male a una persona che sta semplicemente chiedendo un sacchetto. Ho lavorato per anni a contatto con il pubblico e so bene che questo non è il miglior modo per attrarre clientela. Per quanto il cibo sia buono non vi tornerò più; essere aggredita verbalmente senza motivo non mi invoglia a tornare in questo posto…
