Yesterday morning, as soon as I arrived in Palermo, my wife and I headed downtown. We intended to have breakfast in front of the Teatro Massimo or at a nearby café. As we continued in our chosen direction, we passed Via Mariano Stabile, where at number 136/b our attention was drawn to the ALBATROS bar. WHAT A SPECTACULAR, WHAT A BAR, WHAT PRODUCTS!!!! EVERYTHING DELICIOUS. I had a ricotta croissant from the cannolo, my wife a pistachio one, and then we shared a jam one. We were transported back to a time when everything was made well, with art and passion. Unique flavors that those of us of a certain age remember because we lived and ate in a certain way. We were not served, but PAMPERED by FRANCESCO, an employee at the ALBATROS bar who works as if he were the owner. He also prepared us two cappuccinos that, as my mother used to say, WERE SERVED IN FRONT OF THE KING. THANK YOU SO MUCH, FRANCESCO, FOR MAKING US FEEL AT HOME, for explaining in detail how to make croissants and other products, thank you so much for your courtesy and availability, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR EXISTING THE LEGENDARY BAR ALBATROS. Posto carino... Sia dolce che salato soddisfacenti!! Vetrina immensa e super invitante per quanto riguarda i dolci; trovo esagerato pagare 1 dolce mignon 1€ pertanto la prossima volta prenderò mezzo kg di dolci anziché 6 mignon. Sui bagni da ridire... Quindi oltre ad invitare la gente ad essere più attenta invito il personale a fare qualche controllo in più.

Excellent café for breakfast, brunch, or a business meeting. Wide selection of deli items and desserts. In the summer, they have an ice cream counter with over 25 flavors... So many!!! Open outdoor spaces, indoor or outdoor spaces with glass windows. I recommend it!

After a long time since I'd frequented the historic bar in the upper part of Viale Strasburgo, I found it aesthetically renovated but, unfortunately, disappointing in its products. Breakfast was not a daily occurrence, and the coffee was burnt... undrinkable. What a shame!

A historic bar and pastry shop in Palermo, which, despite its potential, never stands out in terms of customer enticement. Slow service, often due to listlessness, but above all, unhygienic behavior, such as "smoking your own e-cigarette" directly on the dessert counter while placing your order. A truly disappointing failure. The simple aperitif was good, served after several prompts.

I walked in at 4:30 PM on January 5, 2026. Out of three people working there, including the cashier, no one responded to my polite greeting. There was a certain sense of indifference in the way customers were welcomed. Never again.
