Il mio porto sicuro nel centro di Roma , ogni volta che qualcuno mi viene a trovare da fuori gli do il benvenuto portandolo al Galletto dove la cucina non mi delude mai , piatti squisiti con materie prime eccezionali . Vista mozzafiato e personale attento e super gentile . Consigliatissimo

This was our second time at this restaurant on what might be the most charming square in Rome, and it was even better than our first visit. The food was the best we’ve had on this trip. We shared the special appetizer, an incredible carbonara, their famous chicken, and a very tender filet mignon. Everything was delicious. Our waiter, Alessandro, was great. He helped us choose a fantastic, fairly priced bottle of wine and even shared the story of his visits to that vineyard. The whole place has that kind of warm, genuine care. In an area full of touristy spots, this is a true family-run Italian restaurant with real, authentic cooking and excellent service. We enjoyed it so much we’re planning to go back again before we leave. Highly recommend.

The pasta was amazing — creamy, delicious, and clearly made with quality ingredients. The sauce was smooth, the bacon perfectly crispy, and the portion just right. I also tried calculating the calories using the service shown in the attached photo. It was super convenient and fast! I’d really recommend it — it makes tracking your meals effortless.

An excellent lunch today. Started in the sunshine but realised our mistake as it got too hot. Our waiter also spotted my discomfort with a lady’s dog sniffing around my feet, as she blew smoke in my direction. He discretely offered to move us, some that showed great empathy and attention to detail. Italian camerieri are truly excellent professionals! Fennel olive and orange salad followed by pasta ( carbonara and Amatriciana) were all very well put together and presented. The berries & gelato and the tiramisu were very good. Many tiramisus have soft biscuits and heavy custard: this was light, beautifully flavoured and had still crunchy biscotti. One of the best I’ve ever had. A delightful lunch away from the nearby crowds. Definitely worth seeking out

We arrived late in the afternoon to a full terrace and the waiter was brilliant and within 10 minutes we were seated. He recommended the salad Puntarelle with anchovy sauce. This is a seasonal delicacy well worth the trip. The whole experience was great, not like the touristic packed Travastere that we escaped. The square is also delightful, far from the maddening crowds of unfortunately now most of Rome. Highly recommended. Book to not be disappointed.

Incredibly delicious! Like all the food in Italy, simply spectacular. Octopus was perfectly cooked. The steak and onions was addictive. Our waiter was really good and professional. The atmosphere inside was modern and comfortable. I wanted to order the frozen fruit dessert but even I was too full by this point of my trip :) Buon Appetito!!!

Of all the restaurants we ate at while visiting Rome, this was by far the best meal we had. We were so well treated, and we witnessed how kind the staff was to other patrons. Locals were dining here, so we knew we came to the right place. Each of the 4 dishes we had were absolutely delicious, the best eggplant parmigiana and stuffed artichoke we have ever had! Strongly recommend making a reservation.

Best dinner we had in Italy! Also the most expensive. We had cacio e pepe and the cod. Both were amazing. We tried going a second time but apparently they were fully booked, so book ahead!

Premetto che ci sono stato in occasione di un ricevimento di matrimonio quindi la mia recensione è limitata a questa esperienza. Ristorante molto carino ubicato in piazza Farnese che dispone di un ampio spazio esterno coperto da grandi ombrelloni. Le portate del menù erano tutte a base di pesce che, devo dire, freschissimo e di prima scelta. I piatti erano confezionati con cura e i vini di qualità e serviti sempre alla giusta temperatura. Il personale molto cortese era sempre attento e pronto a soddisfare qualsiasi richiesta extra. Posso quindi affermare che questa sia stata una delle migliori esperienze relative a un pranzo di nozze sia per la scelta del menù (merito degli sposi) sia per il trattamento riservato agli ospiti dal ristorante.

Not pushy to try and get you in. Just explained the menu and supported your choice. This was from a female staff member who welcomed us. Male staff member was overly pushy which was a put off but the female staff member was amazing. Lovely food and sea food pasta was much more filling than plain fish meals. Always have pasta as if you like fish like I do it's you get nothing but the fish and have to pay more for sides. They aren't good portions. Pasta and something is a winner. Pizzas are very good size and tasty

Il locale si trova su Piazza Farnese, e dispone di sale interne arredate semplicemente e con gusto, e di uno spazio esterno coperto con ombrelloni a protezione dei tavoli. Il menu propone pochi piatti di cucina romana, sostanzialmente i primi piatti, ed un'ampia scelta di piatti a base di pesce. Tuti comunque di buona qualità. La cantina è discretamente fornita. Il personale è garbato e disponibile, attento alle richieste dei clienti. Il rapporto qualità-prezzo è un pochino sbilanciato.

Cibo di ottima qualità ai piedi della Farnesina. Servizio semplice ma nel complesso efficace. Frequentazione e utenza del ristorante quantomeno discutibile. Prezzi non popolari sono solo un corollario al quadro surrealista.

Mi spiace dire che il cibo mediocre sono stato ieri sera piatto di funghi porcini pessimo erano insapori se non amari come se sulla brace fosse bruciato prima qualcosa della cottura dei funghi poi 30€ un furto! , proposto come fuori menù ma il prezzo sulla carta non c’era! spaghetto con le vongole mediocre , prezzi alti per la qualità del cibo che non era sufficiente . Una cornice unica che merita più attenzione nel cibo e nel servizio che sembrava frettoloso e poco attento. Non metto uno solo per la location mai più!

La stella è unicamente per il triste e molto poco professionale soggetto i cassa, che al pagamento del conto se n'è uscito con " la mancia la paga ora con la carta o in contanti? " . Un commento da miserabile che ha fatto crollare il giudizio e la voglia di tornare. Peccato, davvero inopportuno.

In response to the owners comments, FIRST if they actually read the reviews, we are FAR from the only people who have had a bad experience here. Also, the waiter in question seemed to be able to communicate with us fine even though he only took our order and brought the bill, and when he brought the bill suddenly his ability to communicate with us dwindled and he couldn’t understand that we did not agree to his request for a tip- specifically his ask for cash! A minute of small talk and a couple questions about wine should be expected as a bare minimum. Let’s be clear. There was no “special” service and actually the service we observed being provided to other (Italian speaking) guests, was much different - better than what we received. We did not feel that a tip was required at all, especially when the food was quite underwhelming and service was poor. Specifically, they added a 14 euro tip with the credit card which we did not notice until the next day (careful who you trust to be honest)- and when the waiter brought the bill he repeatedly said “servico, servico”, “euros” and would not leave until my husband finally agreed to pay it. The owners response that the waiter asked for an extra tip in cash is accurate, but they also had also added a 14 euro tip to our bill already without our consent! So what he says isn’t much of a defence. We believe this is due to the fact that we were English speaking tourists- plain and simple. They know that we are used to a tipping culture and we felt that the waiter pressured us knowing that we would eventually back down and agree rather than making a scene, which is not in our culture. I hope that is not their normal service/practise and, if so and other people like that, it’s great for them. We feel it is important to share our first hand authentic experience at Ar Galletto Roma. Lots of these touristy places seem to have a lot of high reviews from locals- not tourists like us- and clearly the locals experience at this place was better than what we received. Tourists should also know what to expect when deciding whether to spend their money here or not. We stand by our review. Our experience was not satisfactory at all and thankfully we did not experience that kind of treatment in any other place in all our time in Italy. To us that indicates it seems to be a problem with this particular restaurant/staff. —————————- Original review The worst dining experience in all our time in Italy. Legit - I have NO idea who is leaving these glowing reviews- ????? Food meh. $25 spaghetti that was the most expensive and worst tasting pasta we ate during our entire trip to Italy. Especially the roman artichokes were awful and the zucchini blossoms were small, greasy and not fresh at all. Prices overall quite high for what is provided. Compared to the non-tourist places we ate at, the quality of the ingredients and preparation of food was lacklustre at best! (IMHO Try Puntarella in Trastevere! WAY better in every aspect!) Service - very unhappy…. Overall the service basically sucked. Atmosphere is plastic walls. We asked for a table inside when we reserved as we aren’t fans of eating with others smoking cigarettes next to us. But we were put in the plastic walled area and were not thrilled with putting up with the smoke that came right through. If you think 125 euro for a 2 course meal for 2 with wine and coffee is a decent price then …. I’d agree!!! Only if it were amazing food and service- neither of which applied here sadly. Not to mention they added a 14 euro tip and we didn’t realize until the next day. Tourists beware. These people totally ripped us off. Not a great start to our time in Rome. Thankfully not all restaurants treated us this way. Avoid this place at all costs. SO many other great options in Rome —— — —
