This has to be the best Chinese food we have ever had! The food was so juicy and flavorful it practically fell apart and melted in your mouth! It was a very clean restaurant and we loved that they used real china instead of plastic or mismatched plates. The service was okay but the food made it so worth a 5 star rating!

Food was delicious as well as plentiful. My mom has a diabetic condition, the order taker AND the chef brainstormed ideas to cook her meal and were very understanding and accommodating. Meals were prepared timely. Was a very pleasant experience. I am from out of area, when I come back, I will also come back to this restaurant.

Is a great place at a right price. The portions are meant to share and the flavor is really good. You will enjoy the fried rice and any soup from the menu. Mongolian beef and sweet & sour chicken are awesome. We've been here several times and can say is our favorite chinese food.

China house is the go to restaurant for me and my crew. There's no other Chinese restaurant in this area that serves such quality and good service and atmosphere. I give it a 10 out of 10. My favorite is the usual sachwan chicken fried rice. Pot of tea and ice water. $15 YOU CAN'T BEAT IT!

Yang chao fried rice is one of the best. Not too oil, bland, or salty. Hits the spot. Salt and pepper was great, serving was big for two people! Prawns, not a big fan because of the thick breading. But I love their sweet and sour sauce. Everything was in order, they had complementary chicken soup which was perfect for the cold weather. They had complete condiments such as their chili. I will go back once I crave Chinese food again. Oh, serving was so quick as well!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at China House restaurant and I must say, it was an incredible experience that exceeded my expectations. The moment we stepped foot into the restaurant, we were greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring our dining experience was enjoyable from start to finish. The food at China House was simply outstanding. Every dish was bursting with flavor and it was evident that each item was meticulously prepared using fresh ingredients. The pot stickers, in particular, tasted like they were made with love and care - truly homemade perfection. One of the highlights of our dining experience was the innovative spinning middle design table. As a family of 6, this feature made it incredibly convenient for us to share and sample a variety of dishes. We were able to order a plethora of items, indulging in the vast array of flavors that China House had to offer.

Great local neighborhood Chinese restaurant with lots of my favorites: Singapore noodles, sweet & sour pork, Hong Kong style noodles, clay pot, Chinese broccoli with mushrooms, walnut shrimp. My family has been going here for over 20 years and we've got many holiday memories here. The staff feel like family and the food comes out fast. Easy parking.

Ever since our favorite Royal Palace closed down we have been looking for a new spot and we believe we have found it with this restaurant. We spent $100 on dinner for a family of 4. We ordered wonton soup, chicken fried rice, salt and pepper ribs, sweet and sour chicken, and Mongolian beef. Everything was delicious 😋

Whenever my husband & I go to China House, we are seated within 3 to 5 mins. Our server(s) are always courteous and prompt. Once our order is placed, it usually arrives about 15 min. or less if they are not busy. The food is really good & tasty. We like the Beef Chow Mein, Wor Wonton Soup, Sweet & Sour Pork which we enjoy. We have taken family to China House and they were impressed with the food..our son is very critical of food service. When he is impressed, we are good to go.😘 The prices are very reasonable.

The food is better than some other Chinese places. I liked the flavor. It took a bit longer to get our food to us than what I think is normal. They were moderately busy and not sure why it took that long. The service was just normal, nothing great or bad. They probably need to hire more wait staff to make things run more smoothly. The place had more customers coming in after we got there and it even looked as if they might fill up. It was not too expensive and for the good quality the price was right. If someone is looking for Chinese food I would say check the place out.

I've passed this place for years but this day we had a hankering for hot and sour soup for lunch so we tried it. We also ordered mu shu chicken. The food came quickly, portions were generous, and food going to other tables looked and smelled great. We'll be back!

One of the better Chinese restaurants in the area. Their dine in lunch menu is the best. I never had a bad experience dining or getting take out from this place. They recently raised their prices anywhere from 50cents to $2. But the food is always good so you won't even notice the price difference. Besides, their just trying to keep up with the near by competitors that serves overly greasy and at times bland food.

A
Andrew Barnett

Lots of food for a really great price. I love their soups. Fried rice is okay. Other foods are good when eating them at the restaurant fresh. Taking it home I never can seem to warm it up and get it tasting as good as it was in the restaurant. Bottom line lots of food, very decent price. Will be back again!

Great Chinese food!!! However the food does fluctuate quality once in the while. I feel that it is different cooks... I have been going here for the longest time, however there has been a downhill slope of the taste. Either I am getting rather bored with the food or I am correct. Nonetheless, to be completely honest I have started to go to another Chinese Restaurant in Willow at Hercules, which I enjoy the excellent service and food very much.

Hate to even give this low of a review but I believe they deserve it. Our family has been dining at this restaraunt since the original on Pinole valley rd. In the past few months 2 things happened. The prices have gone up and the quality has gone down. We ordered take out. Walnut prawns, 2 Mongolian beef because it's a favorite. Chow mien and won ton soup. Almost $60. The chow mien was bland and limp. The Mongolian beef had little beef and was more of a spicy onion dish. The walnut prawns and soup were good but we have gone here for the last time. UPDATE: They have come around with the quality of food. Prices are still a bit high.

Not bad for a quick Chinese food fix reasonably priced. Location has ample parking and has a loyal frequent diners. Hot and Sour Soup is a good starter, but I prefer a bit more heat. The fried appetizer sampler is something I would skip. The BBQ Pork Chow Fun was full of flavor and the Salty Fish Fried Rice was fragrant. The clay pot was a miss. I was hoping they would actually cook the food in the clay pot for that taste, but it appears the food was cooked and served in a clay pot. The Iron Platter was just what you expect, burning hot served.

I’ve dined in before and food was good. This take out food was bland, no seasoning on fried ribs, broccoli and beef was good, chicken chow mein ok. However I spent $48 got one pack soy sauce, one fortune cookie. This was meal to feed 3.

S

This place can be a hit or miss. We typically get The salt pepper pork, HK style chow mein, calamari, mongolian beef, walnut shrimp, and a veggie. Consistently the walnut shrimp was good. The HK chow mein typically tastes better when it's not late, some times it can taste old. The mongolian beef was the biggest disappointment, we've normally felt like we get very little beef with the dish. Personally the calamari isn't that great, too much breading for very little meat, when it's fresh it's better.

R
Rene Anduray

Good food at affordable prices. The service however is a little lacking. I've dined there several times and NEVER has the wait staff come by and ask if I'd like more water or additional napkins. But that's not so bad, my tipping certainly reflects, the level of service. What keeps me from awarding this restaurant a higher rating, is that during my last visit about a month ago, there was a tall overweight Asian young man, manning the front counter. I'm assuming he is related to the owners. This young man was downright rude and racist. I witnessed him being exceedingly rude to a patron. I was waiting in line to pay for my family's lunch, when the patron ahead of me in line addressed him in Cantonese. Well, that was as if the patron had committed the highest insult. The manchild threw a tantrum, one of the waitresses had to run to the counter and take over. The waitress had to take this poor patrons order while the overgrow child kept up his tírade. About how "He disliked anyone who couldn't speak English and rhetorically asked if he looked like he could speak Chinese!! The poor patron as well as other customers were right in front of him!! All the waitress could say to placate him, was as if speaking to a toddler "Oh come on, you can understand a little." It truly is a shame that this young man displayed the same lack of empathy and intolerance towards his customer as, no doubt his own ancestors may have suffered after arriving in this country.

Great food. Sometimes they over sauce some dishes but otherwise, a family favorite. No matter how much food you order, it will always ALWAYS only take 15 min. On a side note. Little odd to see someone cutting green beans at the first front table of the restaurant and on the table glass... not even a cutting board. Shows that health standards are not a big focus here which breaks my heart as someone familiar with food service. Will make me rethink the quality of this kitchen. Might explore other Chinese location for this reason alone.

Very typical, nothing special, overly priced. So many better options out there. I can't believe this place lasted as long as it has. And we were literally the only customers on a Sunday afternoon. The only other people who were sitting at tables were workers, preparing vegetables.

It's OK. The garlic chicken was more like garlic water chestnut. Chow mein was OK. Fried rice was OK. Got chicken in all of it. Definitely skimped on the chicken, especially for the price. Usually you can't go wrong with chicken chow mein, but it was so bland, like they forgot the seasoning or sauce? It was just plain noodles and penny-sized cuts of protein. Pretty boring. Sorry, don't mean to be harsh, but pretty disappointed we spent so much for such a boring meal.

Here’s a few things you need to know about “The China House.” 1) Yes, the customer service could be better but it hasn’t been since I can remember! I’ve been ordering from “The China House,” for four years now. That brings me to #2. 2) The food is delicious. 3) I don’t know if they remember they created a menu online with a price next to each item! Because, Sometimes they over charge my boyfriend and/ or friends when they order so please pay attention to your amount. 4) also sometimes they seem to give me different portion amounts. I normally order mandarin chicken salt and pepper shrimp. I had to start counting the amount of each item and the numbers didn’t add up😡 at times they gave me less but never changed the price. P.S pay attention!!😺

I woukdnt eat here again :/ I gave 2 stars because the bbq pork fried rice was good. The noodles didn't have much flavor but they were ok. The sweet and sour chicken was soggy and not good, I've always had it with plain chicken and sauce on the side. It would have been better if they sent some soy sauce or something which they didn't. No plates either.

i can eat here when i am on a budget and dont want to cook but dont want buffet. they have a lot of parking, and i dont need to worry about paying for parking. its been there a while and they do have a lot of patrons. i gave it 3 stars because its just ok when it comes to taste, and price/affordability is definitely a yes yes yes. i dont eat here to often but i did try their family meal and its ok, but needs revision

I can say the food was good, but be aware waiter service was rude when I came in, and plus they charge me 20 dollar tip? I was going to leave cash tip but they added to the bill if I gave authorization to do so, I didn't like that, and it was a hefty price, also picked up the plates rapidly like if they were rushing for some reason. So be aware when coming over here.

The food was less than mediocre & way too overpriced. They overfill your food with onions & other vegetables & leave u with little to no meat or shrimp. The kung pao prawns are about the only thing that is good. Yet & still, veggies overflowed with all of 3 - 4 shrimp in a large box. And the customer service here is HORRIBLE😲 The host is beyond rude & extremely impatient. No etiquette whatsoever. If u want good Chinese food at a decent price, go to Hunan Villa. Go anywhere u want. Just don't go here. 😶😞😒👎🏾

Please don’t support this business people. There are So many Chinese restaurants in the area to choose from. I just ordered via DoorDash and was delivered the wrong order. I called to let them know and they totally denied it and said they have no idea what happened. They started with a attitude and said what!! I continue to tell them about my wrong order and they basically told me that is what I ordered and it was not wrong. For people who know me I eat Chinese food on the regular and I know the difference from Chow fun versus Birdsnest noodles, crispy noodles, Singapore noodles, Hong Kong style etc. Totally unprofessional in a time during Covid where we are trying to support our local businesses. I will no longer support a business who are not grateful for their customers. Please do the same.

Rude service and terrible food! I wish we had read all the negative ratings before ordering. We ordered six dishes to pick up for three people. Although we showed up early, most of the food was already stone cold, and oddly... terribly over-cooked into a nasty glop of goo. What it lacked in pleasant texture, it "made up for" with virtually no flavor. When each of us agreed upon the poor food quality, we called them to inform the management of our displeasure. We spoke with two separate people, both of whom were rude, suggesting it was somehow our fault. Examples: 1) We ordered our food "without MSG" as is offered as an option on their menu. The employee to whom we complained, told us that "the MSG IS the flavor". We have avoided MSG for years and NEVER had food so lacking in taste. The fella said he didn't know what else to say. I suggested a simple apology would help. That's when our call was dropped. 2) To his credit, the apparent manager called us back, but showed no care for our misfortune either. When we told him that the chicken curry was not spicy, he said it wasn't supposed to be... even though our paper menu, their main inside menu, and the printed menu found online ALL show it is supposed to be spicy. This call was also dropped, even though we are just down the street with a perfect connection. Having eaten there periodically through the years, they usually served decent food. We were just in the mood for Chinese food tonight. Next time we want Chinese cuisine, we won't be giving them our money. There are SO MANY better quality establishments available that actually want our business.

Y
Yvette Rowland

If I could give them a zero I would...This place is a joke we always go here the food is great but the service is horrible. We went as a family they didn't even want to give us water. I asked more then three times the waitress acted like she didn't here me. Finally she said how many as if she couldn't see seven people.... my husband finally went to complain the manger said we were not going to give you good sevrice because you didn't tip us last time. He told him every time we come here the service is horrible why would you tip.. they never come back to the table...unless you call them two to three times...they will never get my money again....We can go somewhere were we can get great service with good food....

First time takeout at this restaurant. I ordered Oyster Beef. Got home and discovered that the little beef in the food was grey and the entree full of mostly over cooked vegetables. Horrible and gross. I will never order anything from this place again.

Terrible service out matched by the terrible food. The soup spoon was filthy, the egg roll was cold and the chicken tasted like they left it in luke warm water for a few days and then put it on a plate. The hot tea and the fortune cookie were the best part.

If you like to be rush and constantly checking if you already finish with your plate to bring you the check this is the place .Two ladies making us uncomfortable also they add on your receipt how much tip you left no is up to you is up to them , but with that awful service people don’t will tip them 😡

I bought take out from China House yesterday (June 13, 2024). I ordered chicken fried rice and sweet and sour chicken. The rice was quite greasy and the sweet and sour chicken was actually shrimp. My wife and I took our mom there for lunch, we walked in they didn't acknowledge us, finally another worker seated at the table, brought us 3 cups of water but only gave us 1 straw, I have to ask for 2 more. It wasn't busy at all but we waited 20 minutes and they didn't come and ask if we were ready to order, instead they took orders from a couple that came in after us. I was running out of patient because my mother can't sit for too long because she was on her wheelchair so we decided to leave and it doesn't seem like they care. I will never ever go back there again. If I can give zero star I would of.

I recently visited China House in Pinole and had a frustrating experience. I ordered two combination fried rice dishes, and when the person said “regular size,” I assumed there was also a large size and asked for it. He then questioned where it said on the menu there was a large, which was confusing, especially since “regular” implies there are other sizes. His response felt dismissive and unhelpful. We spent over $100 and expected better service. When we arrived, we were barely 10 minutes past the estimated time, yet the staff threatened to throw our food away because it had “gotten cold.” Why is the food getting cold in 10 minutes? Food normally should not be getting cold that quickly; it should still be barely room temperature or still hot. We had given our phone number, so why didn’t they call us when they couldn’t find us? They were asking where we were, but they had our contact info, so why didn’t they reach out? The lack of communication and poor service ruined the experience. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone seeking respectful service and a pleasant meal.

This was our first time trying this restaurant, and it will definitely be our last. My husband, son, and I went for dinner last night. According to their hours on Google, they are open until 9:30 pm. We arrived around 8:40-8:45 pm, and I would have appreciated it if the establishment had informed us they were closing soon, giving us the option to order takeout. Instead, they seated us without a greeting, no "hello" or "welcome." While I understand that not everyone is overly polite, the server immediately asked, "What do you want?" in a rude tone, repeatedly saying, "What else?" with the same attitude. When the food arrived, it was obvious they were rushing us to finish our meal. The server hovered over us, eager to clear our plates, especially after the other two families left at 9 and 9:03 pm. Shortly after, she asked if we needed boxes, implying we were done, and a gentleman brought the check. It was particularly upsetting when she started clearing the table before my 3-year-old son had finished eating and then directly asked my husband to pay, even though he was still drinking his soda and the check was sitting on the table. I wouldn’t have minded as much if it were just us adults, but rushing my son like that really bothered me. If you decide to try this place, make sure to go with plenty of time. The fried rice was the only delicious dish we ordered.

The food was bad and the staff also were rude. Also I ordered something and they gave me something different. I won't recommend this Chinese restaurant.
