Mini Gourmet

My father and brother, may they RIP, had been frequenting this place forever. I'm a huge fan of the hometown atmosphere and great eats. It's a great Saturday morning dig.

We have been going to Mini Gourmet for many years and they never disappoint. Usually go for breakfast, most times Linda has Ham and eggs while I have chorizo and eggs.

Love this restaurant. Small town feel with great food. We've been coming here for years and will continue to.

We were looking for a small mom and pop place for breakfast that didn't cost too much. Found it! Food and service was great!

Small, quiet, clean, delicious. My girlfriend and I went here right after they opened and it was an entirely pleasant experience. The decor is baseball themed, the staff is friendly, and the service is fast. Food was pretty reasonably priced, and good portions. Odd location for a place like this. But I would say to definitely seek it out.

I’m 36 and I have been going to Mini Gourmet my entire life. I take my daughter now!!! I have never had a bad experience or any complaint of any sort. The food is amazing, the service is top tier, and they have always made me feel like family. I LOVE MINI GOURMET!!!!!

The rest of their food is too! The service is always fantastic and it gets busy on the weekends so get there early!

Really good place to have breakfast. Very chill and full of elderly locals. I heard Tommy LaSorda the baseball legend comes here a lot. They are known for their French toast. Ask for their Salsa, it's not on the menu but it's very delicious with everything. The staff are very courteous and friendly, opening doors and stuff. John and I might get the other name wrong might be Caesar.

Definitely a great restaurant! I truly believe that this is the best restaurant in Placentia! They have a great Tuna Melt and California Chicken Sandwich! If you are in the Placentia/Yorba Linda area during breakfast or early lunch, this is THE PLACE to go to!

The homemade Hash was perfectly crisp and delicious on the outside and a nice consistency inside. Great menu choices with decent prices and friendly, attentive service. Thanks for starting our day off with a delicious meal! We found the hidden gem! 💎

Hole in the wall diner. Interior needs updating but I have never had anything here I didn't like. It is your typical diner food and prices are reasonable.

I ordered the breakfast burritos, which were delicious! The only thing is, my burritos had two open ends! 😂 I thought that was funny. After re-rolling my burritos, I ate both of them. I ordered the chorizo in my burritos. I love that stuff, but rarely eat it. This place has a real classic dinner look to it. Really nice staff, too. Great service.

This place has been here for an eternity. Very small restaurant which gives you a small town feel. They have the basics covered don't expect anything fancy. I ordered a scramble with bacon, sausage and spinach. It was very good and not over cooked. The coffee was good because they have flavored creamer which is a winner for me. I gave it 4 stars because I think it needs a little remodel. The pricing is what makes this a good value.

Only reason they get 4 out of 5 stars is, I ordered eggs over easy & they were over medium. I don't waste food & typically all their breakfast are perfect. Have their Oatmeal or Cream of Wheat. Yummy! You might get to see Tommy Lasorda there for breakfast too! I did! Great plus for breakfast! 👍👍👍😊😊

Have always done breakfast here. Corned beef hash is excellent. Not canned. Had the French dip sandwich today. Bit too salty for me. I'll just stick to breakfast from now on.

Been here many times in the past, finally getting around to reviewing. Always enjoy the Mini Gourmet omelette or the motherload. Same staff as long as I can remember and they always treat us right.

A great breakfast spot. I really liked their Corned Beef and O'Brian potatoes. Service is phenomenal 👏.

Old Time diner feel. Breakfast lunch place..Very friendly people...food is pretty good.went in for lunch..they close early I had a sandwich and my friend had the huevos rancheros...he said it was just ok...mine was good. Definitely be back for breakfast

My few experiences with having eaten there have not been very good at at. The food isn't the greatest. I ordered a pastrami sandwich once. There was more mustard than there was meat. (No exaggeration what so ever.) The service has never been great either. The few times I've been to Mimi's it was because of an invitation!! Of the two, food and service, the food was the worst. Yuck!!!

They kindly allowed me to order something else and I had an omelette with bacon and Avocado. The Avocado was generous and I enjoyed the omelette. I asked that it would be cooked soft to avoid it being Dry, having that Brown crust on the eggs which can happen at many restaurants. This omelette was very tasty but I must say it’s not actually an omelette. Omelettes are eggs cooked in the skillet with the ingredients placed on top and the egg is folded over to enclosed ingredients. This so-called omelette was actually a scramble with everything mixed inside the eggs like a scramble and cooked firm like an omelette. It made no difference to me. It was quite good but I thought it’s note worthy to mention it’s not actually an omelette. I ordered a biscuit with this meal and like so many restaurants it was rather heavy. There was nothing outstanding about it but it was OK and I ate it. I have yet to find a good biscuit in a restaurant. The O’Brien potatoes were large chunks and didn’t have any special seasoning besides salt. They were probably fine for someone who likes bland food. There was very little pepper and onion mixed in. My partner ordered a skillet. He found the whole thing rather flavorless and lacking much flavor , as well as a Lytle or cooked and dry. This is a popular place that I don’t know if it’s because of their breakfast or their lunches. Many people are probably satisfied with a very ordinary meal with nothing particularly outstanding at the meal and sometimes slacking certain qualities. If you’re not particular you’ll probably find something very good that you will enjoy.

Pretty sad looking and tasting avocado toast. Omelet, French toast, etc. average. Nothing special. Amount of food for the cost not worth it.

I used to go there all the time before the new owners took over now they're cheap. I ask for Swiss cheese they used American cheese and put it on top of the Omelette instead of inside it was cold cheese was not melted the food was cold the muffins were cold coffee cold. my friends food just was terrible sent it back they use very cheap cuts of meat and it's really gone downhill

In fact, he never returned to ask if we needed anything (or I could have reminded him about the butter & asked for mild salsa). When I was paying the bill, I did something I almost never do, I very politely told him, "since you're the owner & my mom likes coming here, I'll mention the chicken was dry" he just looked at me blankly & didn't reply. I wasn't hoping he'd comp the $17 fajitas or give us a discount for an upcoming visit (I was fine he didn't offer anything) I just wanted him to have some helpful feedback. The place was clean, with good air con & I liked the music wasn't too loud. Thanks for reading my review.

The customer service was great! But I'll be completely honest, the food was not. The people are great, but their food I am a little concerned about. Ordered the steak and eggs, and my steak did not look or smell like one. It had a pale color to it and it did smell rotten. Upgrade the quality of the food please, then I will come back.

Food was okay, a little overpriced for simple food items. The hash browns were hard and burnt and overall the food was cold.

The food is too cheap despite the prices. Had a "rare" steak and eggs breakfast here three different times. A rare steak here is a suitable replacement for a shoes sole. Hashbrowns were cool to the touch and limp/soggy. The word gourmet in the name is very misleading. It is anything but.
