I went with the egg breakfast served with home potatoes and sourdough toast, and the portion was more than satisfying. I asked if they had salsa and was happy to find out they did, and it was absolutely delicious. It had just the right kick without being too spicy, and it tasted amazing spooned over the potatoes. Such a satisfying and enjoyable meal.
The 50s Elvis and Marilyn atmosphere, simple menu items and peach pie are the magnets for me. The charbroiled 1/2 chicken dinner spoke to me from the new item menu. The flavor and juiciness of the "roasted then charbroiled" chicken and two sides was a winning combination. The mini peach pie ala mode was a perfect sweet end. If your dining party includes kids, they might send out the robot server. It would be fun for every age imo 🤖 👍
1st time at the Diner. The atmosphere really draws you in when you first walk in. The hostess was very nice and friendly. Wait staff was amazing and walked us through the items on the menu and gave my wife options with the Tea so she could try the different flavors. Food came quickly, it was almost more than we could eat and as big as your head! Pancakes were perfect! Omelet was perfect! We'll be going back.
Our experience was memorable! Melanie was great as our server. She was very attentive and always available for help. Our food came out quick and was tasty and fulfilling for my wife and I. I had the Tex Mex Omelet and wifey had the Payday Omelet. Love.the ambiance in this diner and enjoyed the music as well. I will be back with more family and friends. This is a diner worth visiting.
This place will bring you back to Mel’s dinner times lol (70’s show) come early and you can take advantage of breakfast specials before 11 AM! I ordered 2 egg breakfast with home potatoes and sourdough bread, it was a good portion size and I asked if they had salsa and they did (it was delish!) pic! It’s not too spicy but they were so good on top of my potatoes 😋 My son ordered the waffle breakfast. He really enjoyed it very much it came with two eggs, bacon & waffle. Highly recommend this place!
One of my favorite diners really good food big portions and amazing pies. I come here often the staff is amazing and definitely recommend.
Great food, excellent service and a fun atmosphere. I've been to other Mr.Ds locations and this one really is a gem. Different seating areas, a cool classic car turned into a booth and a full bar! They have a really big menu and their pies are amazing so save room. Lots of parking and easy to see from the street.
Food was very good, we had a lady waitress was very friendly. The atmosphere inside this diner was very cool.
Had a great 1st experience here at Mr D's Diner! Enjoyed a nicely cooked ribeye steak with grilled vegetables, baked potato. Seasoned just right ✅ They are experienced restaurateurs with several restaurants in the area. Dining in the restaurant was nice as the decor is done in a bright cheerful and vibrant 1950's motif. The first thing I notice walking in was the vintage Coca-Cola cooler. Then you see a real nice1957 Chevy that was restored and converted into a booth! Had a great dessert too! Mini berry pie a la mode. When you are in the mood for All American comfort food, do yourself a favor and visit the friendly staff at Mr.D's. Can't wait to try the breakfast 😋 5 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We ended up here because the original pancake house was packed and an hour wait. This place was delicious and there was no wait. The food was amazing!! Service was above the average. Plus the portions were huge. This was the old Marie calendars but they made it cute inside. Recommended this place.
Well, well what can I say about a place like this? It's lively, plenty to see plus it has good music. This is a Rock-N-Roll setting that will please everyone. The food is great and plentiful not to mention the selection offered. The 57 Chevy booth is a must for the enthusiasts just bare in mind that there's a fee for it. Our grandkids got a kick out of it. Hop in next time you're looking for a unique experience. "Thank you, thank you very much"
Great restaurant! Had a late dinner there and ordered the California Burger, and it was delicious! Had a peek inside, and I'm looking forward to finally dining in because the interior looks like fun! I'm also excited to eat breakfast because their breakfast menu is pretty big!

Went here unaware of anything about the place. I was just looking for a locally owned restaurant. Loved the royal blue door handle, was greeted by an enthusiastic cashier. Placed an order off of the really nicely selected menu. That's when I realized that this was the restaurant from the movie Pulp Fiction. So, without that, this is simply an exceptionally good local restaurant. It is even better than that, because that movie decades old, and this place looks fresh as a daisy. Had the andouille sausage plate, and the Anaheim breakfast. Both were huge and perfectly made. All the best here. Wish them well for the future.
I wish you had a ten. We have Stacey and she's the best. Her attitude and personality is so great. The food is great also. We've been going to her for years.
Came in this morning because I had a “free kids meal” coupon which they honored despite my lack of a child 😆 The food is great, can’t wait to come back, menu variety is great and super delicious. Our waitress and the manager were very attentive, professional and friendly. My wife and I really enjoyed today’s dining experience at Mr. D’s. We will definitely be back !!! 5 stars !!! Great place to dine, awesome service and menu.
Left the Original Pancake House because of crowding and their staff being unable to queue the crowd properly. Walking in Mr. D's was a breath of fresh air. We were seated immediately, and the ambience was perfect. Recognizable music, down low enough to allow quiet conversation. The service was quick, and my girlfriend called the food perfect at least three times. Even the pies are excellent! We will be back again, and soon.

It's a nice diner it used to be a Mari Calanders they have a pie selection and bit size pies. The menu is a decent size giving you a good selection of options.
Retro type diner that looks like or may have been an IHOP before but they added their own charm to it. Old school tables and chairs, paintings on the wall and even music playing in the background. I ordered the all meat breakfast burrito and it was very fresh, and flavorful. They give you what tasted like homemade salsa with it. It was good but a little greasy. I'm sure given all the meats packed inside, tough not to be. My server Judith was great and attentive! I would definitely go back and maybe try a different meal the next time!
After passing by this place numerous times, the building looks SO inviting and I was looking forward to visiting --- and today was that day! 🎊 There is so much to read and take in upon entering, so I did! When you walk in, there is so much eye candy it's incredible! A sign said 'seat yourself,' so I try to, but there is this phenomenal pastry displayed that makes you stop to look and drool! A Latino worker approaches and his eyes are wide open; I tell him I am just looking and he lets me gawk! After the pie show, I venture to the left where I see a small seating area and a bar. And I'm like, this place is small! I proceed to put my work satchel and my shopping bag at my table and look in the small area for the Loo. Nowhere to be found! So I walk back up front, and to the right of the pie display --- WOW! There is seating galore over here! After washing my hands, I decide to just sit where I put my bags. As I head to my table an older lady worker with a single pigtail approaches me with the same wide-eyed look as the Latino male! Now as a 6-1, 260 lbs Black Man, I am used to 2 different kinds of looks . . . the WOW and the Whoa! Both were the latter! Anyway I tell the lady, I thought this area was the entire restaurant. She says NO, it's just the bar. And I go sit down. Moments later, the same lady comes to my table and this is what she says, "What would you like to drink?" No . . . "Hi Sir, welcome to Mr. D's, my name is X, I can tell this is your first time. Do you have any questions?" How about that? Because the same wide eyes the workers had toward me, was the same way I looked at the restaurant . . . yet mine was WOW, theirs were Whoa! Anyway, I ask Stacie (no name tag) that I would like an ice water with lemon and lime. She says she has the lemon but doesn't know about the lime? Uhhh, we are in the bar area!? She brings my drink and both fruits are included. I was previously so enthused about visiting and I wanted to get the scoop on what was best, but my zeal was quashed and I just asked her to give me a couple minutes. While I perused the menu, she was jovial and friendly with the two other parties there . . . but oh well, such is life. When she comes back, I let her know I would like the country style steak with scrambled eggs, the hash browns and pancake. As she is flipping in her pad, she replies," The country steak and how do you want your eggs?" REALLY!? I repeat, scrambled. Then she says, and you want the seasoned potatoes. I correct her again --- but at least she did get the pancake right, and she is off to the kitchen. And in what seems like 5 minutes, my beautiful breakfast appears and it looks and tastes FABULOUS! 🤤 I am in no rush and I am relishing the décor and the atmosphere, and halfway through, Stacie brings me the bill (where I am able to see the NAME of who is actually serving me). Then twice (two times) in the next 15 minutes, she comes by to ask me, if I'm ready? When she laid the bill down she could have said, 'you can pay me when YOU are ready or you can take it up front,' where during my visual tour of the facilities, I saw a cash register, but no she didn't say anything except, "Are you ready!?" FOR WHAT!? So after enjoying my meal, and seeing the total tab is 18 and change, and all I have are 20s and 10s, I thought to just leave a $20 and bounce! But no, I didn't want to feed the stereotype! So I placed a 20 and a 10 along with the ticket so it was very noticeable and waved at Stacie! And I always HATE when wait staff says this to me: "Do you want any change!?" First off, know the amount in general of all your tables and lastly, just bring back change regardless --- especially if there are only 2 tables under your supervision! I tell her yes! And lo and behold, she brings back two $5 bills --- not a 5 and 5 ones! Guess she thought she was getting a five . . . NOPE! I left a one dollar bill, four quarters, five dimes and six nickels on an $18.90 ticket! Which is over 15% and I thought THAT was too much! I am coming back to experience Mr. D's again, but I will have a different server!
1st visit personally after hearing family rave about the great, hearty, home-cooked style food and even better friendly, great service. Arrived close to closing on a Sunday night and everything was fresh, tasty, quality food, and exactly the friendly service I’d heard so much about. Decided to have breakfast for dinner… chicken fried steak and eggs with country gravy. So many restaurants claim to be home-cooked style, but taste more like it came out of a can. Not here. The chicken fried steak was plump and juicy, but not in the least bit greasy like most places. The sausage gravy… Amazing. And the hashbrowns, unlike most places that are cheap, thin overly fried and greasy, these literally tasted like something my grandmother might make. Hearty, fresh, hot crispy, like I ordered, and not the least bit greasy at all. I don’t know how they do it actually for a restaurant kitchen. Family members had Greek salad and fajitas, which came up fresh, hot, and tasting amazing. Really pretty surprising how a restaurant gets everything to taste so fresh. Mr. D’s may look like a chain restaurant/diner from the outside, but it’s nothing like a chain at all. It’s family owned, with a limited number of locations, and a great 50s diner theme inside. I didn’t have any, but family had the peach muffins that literally look like a peach cobbler completely packed with fresh fruit. It really takes a lot for me to be impressed by the quality of restaurant food, but this place absolutely does it, and does it well. When they come talk to you, they treat you like family. So many places if you show up just before closing, they roll their eyes and you’re lucky if you get hot fresh food. This food was so good that you wouldn’t know it wasn’t rush-hour at dinner. I might just have to go back tonight for more. I no longer live in the area, but visit family here often throughout the year. This might just be one of my new favorites in the area!

It's fine. Diner food that is better than Denny's and has some some funky old school ambiance. I enjoyed the pastrami sandwich. Service was friendly. Tilapia was not too great, but passable for what it is. Grandma got the senior meatloaf and the portions were pretty big; she said she enjoyed it. Overall, decent food, but a little pricey.
I applaud the attempt this restaurant makes to create the feeling you are an "All American" diner. There's a fifty's theme mixed with murals of the local city of the artist interpretation of what the town may have looked back then. There is even a partial Chevrolet converted into a both to sit and enjoy dinner. The food options are typical for any diner featuring breakfast lunch and dinner options at anytime. There are couple dinning areas that offer secultion from the main dining area (possibly for larger groups). There is also a small separate bar area. However, the restaurant falls short in its attempt to transform the environment into into that diner it so wants to be. Most notably missing is a walkup countertop with stools as you would notice with older diners. There are few bakery options. Food price on the high end for the basic options. If you want to sit in the Chevrolet booth it will cost you group an extra $20. Overall, decent restaurant. A step higher then the corporate diners. Friendly staff. Live music (on certain days). Restroom facilities are clean.
