This is the most authentic Greek in town! The atmosphere is beautiful and intimate. This was my first time here, soI tried the Greek sampler. Every bite was Love on a plate! My daughter said that say that the pita bread was fresh and amazing and that the manager was funny 🙂

By far, the best Greek food anywhere near Plano. The saganaki is outstanding. The dolmas here are the best I’ve had. Huge with an outstanding sauce. My only problem with Kostas is choosing because everything I’ve had here is excellent! And to make it even better, the staff is always friendly and kind!

My favorite Greek restaurant in Dallas. Gyros are wonderful. Went back 10/17/2024 and dined in. The service was excellent, atmosphere relaxing and the food was some of the best I ever had.

First visit but not our last! The waiter, food and atmosphere exceeded our expectations. I was expecting a casual setting but it was way better. Waiter took great care of us and even brought a free “real Greek” salad when we accidentally ordered the wrong thing. He was glad to do it. Kinda pricey but WELL worth it. Will be going back for sure!

The staff and owner were so accommodating and friendly. The atmosphere was so nice and peaceful. The wait staff so attentive. They are truly special people that made me feel special. The ambiance was a little dark, but for our party, it was perfect. It allowed us the freedom to converse with a certain amount of freedom from other tables. Food was great, and the server made a great wine recommendation. Definitely recommend.

I don’t see how anyone has left a bad review. This has now turned into one of our favorite restaurants…I am in LOVE with this restaurant. We went as a small group and all kind of shared to try everything. Avgolemono soup surprisingly addicting (dip your pita), spanakopita…a heavenly Greek lasagna, their slovakis are SO tender and seasoned incredibly!, the shrimp scampi…THE SHRIMP SCAMPI!!!….best shrimp I have ever had HANDS DOWN, the rice was so good we had to ask for two side orders to go, the dolmas and mousaka can be an acquired taste but really good, and the gyro meat was so tender and tasty. I wish we lived closer because we’d be frequent flyers. As for the staff, our waiter was super friendly, answered any and all the questions we had (wish we would have gotten his name). Also noticed smiles on everyone else there, glasses were never empty. Seems like a close knit run place. Can’t wait to go back, try some new things while bringing home some of our favs. PS…Please come out with a cookbook!

Beautiful Greek cafe, with delicious, authentic Greek food. Our server was super attentive, and knew the answers to any questions without skipping a beat. The appetizer soup was delicious, as was my gyro platter. We also enjoyed the hummus appetizer. If you are wanting Greek food, definitely go to Kosta's!

This restaurant has great atmosphere, flavorful food, and a fantastic staff. I have started coming here once or twice a week for about the past month and a half and I am consistently satisfied with the meals and the service. Food doesn't take long to get out, my drink is always full, and the staff keep a professional yet human attitude, making them more than pleasant to interact with. My personal favorite meal, the Gyros, are always cooked to near perfection, with amazing home made sauce to balance out the natural dryness of the lamb. The deserts are constantly fresh and delectable while also being surprisingly affordable. While I have never met the chef(s), I can tell that he/they have years of experience can constantly deliver their best. The dim lighting and soft Greek music that plays in the restaurant ties the entire place together, keeping the mood and atmosphere right where it needs to be while not being intrusive. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough and can most certainly see myself going here for many years to come.

The food is fantastic, and I mean perfect every time we dine. Consistency is vital to maintaining excellent food and service, and they have it down. The owner, Dimitri, and his staff are amazing and always go above and beyond to provide a great experience. I found out today this location has been going strong for 23 years, and I've been coming there for about 18 years. They can’t be beaten for the best Greek food in the DFW area, in my family’s opinion!

I wish I could give the service more than 5 stars. We had a family get-together there, today (There were 10 of us). It was perfect to actually be able to visit and hear each other for a change! The food was delicious! Everyone loved what they ordered! But, the reason I came to write a review was the waiter. Due to some recent medical bumps, I'm on an extremely restrictive diet. I try to be very discreet when ordering and always work hard to find something on the menu. I don't like "attention" about it. The waiter was so kind, helped me make my selection, and understood when I needed a different utensil to eat my soup. He was simply a very kind man while being very attentive to the whole table. That was NOT my experience at a different restaurant last weekend where I was made to feel ridiculous. I will definitely be back over and over. Great job!

Great place for a traditional sit down family dinner. From dolmas to the baklava, you will get an authentic Greek feast start to finish. Bar seems well stocked and prices are reasonable. Expect to pay around $30 - $40 a person for 3 course meal with non-alcoholic beverages. Save room for dessert and coffee. We have enjoyed this place for years.

I’ve been twice to this lovely restaurant and loved the food both times! I tried my first Spanakopita here, and my first Greek Lemon soup. Both were AMAZING! My dinner-mates were just as pleased with their meals. And the bread is fresh and delicious!! I believe this is a family owned business, but I’m not sure. Wait staff were friendly and welcoming. This place is a keeper! I’ll be back!

Phenomenal Greek food, outstanding and attentive (but not over the top) wait staff, the pacing of service was really nice and the Greek ambience with music and low light setting made for a spectacular experience. It’s been a long time since I came last with my children and how much we liked this restaurant. But last Sunday, I came back and had a wonderful time. I had to come back for their delicious grilled chicken and vegetables, the vegetable soup, and the vanilla ice cream topped with chocolate and strawberry syrup. They were superb. The music, the ambiance, the servers were so kind. They made me feel at home. Come pay them a visit. Experience the delicious Greek cousine and leave all your stress behind. They are amazing!! I’ve been coming here for the longest time. From the amazing customer service to the quality food you really can’t go wrong with coming to Kostas Cafe and ordering anything off the menu. That being said my go-to is the Avgolemono Soup and the Dolmades Appetizer. This trip was no different than the probable hundreds of other times I have come here. The food was fresh and seasoned to perfection. The soup has this perfect creaminess that you won’t find anywhere else. The dolmades were Devine. The service was amazing. I know I’ll be back.

I think I've just found my new favorite restaurant. I ordered the dolmas "hard to find dolmas that are served warm" and these did not disappoint. Generously filled and lots of yummy sauce to dip into. The chicken shish-ka-Bob was also wonderfully seasoned served with rice and green beans. The bread was soft and still warm after a 25 min drive. The kind man who handed me my food said that I would be back for more, and he wasn't lying. Delicious food, friendly service, and reasonably priced.

Ordered moussaka today. Highly recommend giving it a shot. I appreciate Miguel’s efficiency and attentiveness! He broke down the tables from a large party and kept an eye on our table. Our waiter was also great and I wish I caught his name. He had served us several times and does a great job too!

Right away, from stepping into an authentic, cozy atmosphere to the stellar service and phenomenal food, I couldn't be any happier! I was greeted warmly and promptly as soon as I arrived and seated at a centrally located table. There was authentic Greek music playing lightly but also, the Cowboys game on silently. The atmosphere is so cozy and relaxed and it truly feels like they welcome each and every person with the utmost care. My server, Ric, was pleasant and attentive, and did a wonderful job taking care of not only our table but every other one since he was the only server. He even suggested a lovely red wine for me. I enjoyed a small salad along with some very fresh bread before my meal. I opted for the Athenian combo so I could try a few things and my husband has the Greek combo. Every single morsel on our plates tasted absolutely devine, was cooked to perfection and seasoned beautifully. I am not local but I would absolutely drive here just to enjoy a phenomenal meal again anytime!

Wonderful food in spite of the steak being overcooked. It was still tender and had great flavor. I ordered medium rare, but got more of a medium well with very little pink. The staff were very friendly and the restaurant was clean. I’d definitely go back here. My only complaint about the atmosphere was that a couple with two young, very talkative kids, were sat next to us in a very close proximity. They weren’t loud, but it made it very hard for my wife and I to converse. I will also mention there were other tables that were empty, further away from ours.

Wonderful experience. We weren’t expecting this restaurant to be so nice. We ordered lamb chops and the gyro sandwich plate. Boyfriend said it was the best lamb chops he’s ever had. Quaint little, family run, Greek Bistro in a quiet area. The staff is polite and personable. The food is amazing. I had the Greek Platter so I could try a little bit of the whole menu. I was not disappointed. Especially the spanakopita. I normally loathe spinach and spinach based dishes, but their spanakopita is beyond excellent and I would definitely have it again. The lighting was a bit low for my taste, but that was my only issue, and that's just a personal preference of mine. I highly recommend giving Kostas a visit for lunch or dinner.

This place has been on my wish list for years and I finally visited. Dimly lit ambience makes it a good option for a date night. Hummus was good, pita bread was hot and plentiful. Greek side salad didn’t come with all the trimmings that I assume the actual Greek salad menu item does. Tried the lamb shank with lemon sauce and wasn’t disappointed. Giant proportion that could be shared between two. I think I’ll try the chicken when I return.

2026 Edit: No more lunch menu, prices have gone up. Service can be Sloowww... We hadn't been to Kostas in a long time when we decided to drop in for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon. The experience was excellent, better than I remembered from past visits years ago. Our server was perfect, never hovering, just attentive and quick to respond. The food was as good, or better, than any Greek we've had at any of the Greek restaurants in Plano and Frisco. The appetizer bread was so fresh it seemed to have been baked just before we got there. The Greek salad was chilled, fresh and crisp with just the right amount of dressing. The chicken and pork souvlaki entrees were cooked perfectly, with tons of flavor. The Greek potatoes were also moist and full of flavor. Overall, the quality was equal to the now closed Greek Isles when it was at its best during its heyday 20 years ago. Another great surprise was that the prices were still very reasonable, especially compared to many places in Plano/Frisco that seem to see Covid, shortages and inflation as excuses to completely ignore the price to value balance (like a certain German restaurant that used to be co-located with the old Greek Isles). Overall, we experienced great food, great service and reasonable prices. A combination that will definitely bring us back.

My husband and I are always looking to try something new. We drove by Kostas and thought we would give it a try. The ambiance is very nice and comfortable. The hummus and spanakopita are really good. The menu does not include any vegetarian options other than the hummus, salad and spanakopita, so if you are looking for a vegetarian dinner, you will not find it here. The restaurant was pretty busy for a Thursday evening, so I'm guessing that means that the food that is not vegetarian is good. Service was friendly. I would recommend this restaurant if you are not vegetarian.

Cozy and casual greek restaurant in Plano. Chicken Slovlaki and Green Beans are delectable, however for some reason they gave us okra instead, still decent. 1 star off as the price difference between locations seem unjustified, it’s the same food. The gyro is decent but it would be nice if they combined it all together as a wrap and not a pita with meat and a side of veggies, that may be more of a personal qualm. I enjoy both locations and enjoy the 3-course service, especially when if it’s lunch!

I ordered the Moussaka which was pretty good, was surprised how much I liked the soup, no photo of it unfortunately. The customer service was also great. Will go back whenever I get the chance.

We’ve been coming to this restaurant for nearly 10 years, and while the menu and décor haven’t changed much (aside from a new interior paint color that isn’t our favorite), the food has stayed reliably good. On one visit we were served a lamb chop that had clearly gone bad, but the staff replaced it immediately and the rest of the meal was excellent. Our only real frustration is that the owner often spends his time drinking and watching sports in the dining area, which can feel a bit tacky—especially now that prices have risen and the average entrée is over $25. Because of that, we’ve shifted to visiting only for special occasions, when the atmosphere matters a little more. Even so, we keep coming back, because those lamb chops are absolutely worth it—pricey, yes, but consistently delicious.

After almost fourteen days of American food this was really a tasty change. Gyros were almost better than at home , the Waiter was so kind and offered us appetizers for free. If there's anything I could complain about it's the darkness in the restaurant, it was very dark. But the ambience is very nice with beautiful Greek photos on the wall. A little unexpected gem. Traditional Greek decor and music. We were welcomed on our arrival and the service was attentive and gracious. We were there at lunch and had dolma as an appetizer, the chicken sandwich- served on pita with onions and tzatziki- with a side of Greek potatoes, and avgolemono. The dolma was delicious. It had ground beef and rice and was more savory and didn’t have the piquant vinegary flavor that I’m used to, but I really enjoyed them. The soup was lovely. Fresh, eggs blended beautifully, the touch of lemon created a nice note of freshness. Chicken sandwich was great- chicken was tender and juicy. We spent about $10-12 per meal. I am looking forward to coming back and trying more of their dishes!

Had the calamari to start, which was great! Lamb chops for dinner, we ordered medium rare / medium and they came out medium well / well. Flavor was good but it was too tough. The soup was delicious but the sides were not. Having been to Greece twice and having enjoyed amazing (and cheap) authentic Greek food, the overall experience was lacking. It’s not a spot I’d recommend and probably won’t come again.

Atmosphere and service were great. The food was just not my favorite. The gyro had too much veggies and not enough meat. Potatoes could be seasoned more. The crab claw appetizer was very good though. I prefer another Greek restaurant in Frisco but I'd be willing to go back to Kostas because the employees are very nice.

I'm only giving this a 3 stars, so that I can improve my review after my next visit. I have never had Greek food before, I know, how couldn't I!? This place is perfect for first timmers. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledge. Our waiter was very nice and til time to describe dishes, wines and desserts to us and answered all of my curious kids' inquiries about the restaurant, food, culture and country itself. The food was delicious and everything they promise it to be. We had a red Greek wine that was phenomenal, and gyros all around, except for my less adventuresome daughter. She had the CHICKEN SOUVLAKI, she liked it, but ended up trying and loving my gyro too :) My youngest loved the lemon soup and ate all of it, which is not something she does. She even took mine home and had it for lunch the next day You have to try the Greek desserts. They are a real treat. Honestly though, we ordered every desert on the menu I think and everyone had a few bites of each. There is one that's not on the menu, and I can't even say it right, so I'm not going to try to spell it. It's only made once a week near the weekend and once it's gone, it's gone for the week. We will definitely be going back!

I received an Uber eats order from these gentlemen. This review is from a Greek guy. The food was very mediocre. The Mousaka and the spanakopita had very little taste. The most offensive part to me was the feta cheese that they used. It tasted like cardboard. It had no taste. It appears they’re not spending a lot of money on the quality of their food. I’m so disappointed being Greek. They sure can do a lot better.

Passed this place with my girlfriend and we decided to stop in for dinner. We weren't sure what it was other than the info Google maps shows. We went in and were led to a table. A nice waitress filled our waters, so we opened the menus. First thing I'd say is this place is more pricey than you'd expect, and more than most other Greek restaurants. Google says "$10-20" which is definitely too low, especially if you order anything other than an entree (like... a drink). For example, a chicken pita wrap and soda alone will run you over $22 plus tip. After looking through the menu, we waited 5-10 minutes to place a drink order but nobody came by. We looked around and saw that most of the tables with people at them had food, so we decided to apologize to the host and find somewhere else for dinner. The host kinda gave us a grumpy noise in response.

Food quality has gone way downhill. The food was dry, cold, and the service was horrendous. We asked the owner why he would only have one waiter with a large table for a birthday a couple smaller tables and ours. He told waiter they’re pissed and overheard waiter respond I don’t even care. I stated you should as just lost our business. I recommend any fast food chain over Kostas as food quality was terrible and service was awful.

Horrible experience. Green beans were two different colors. Like they threw in some old beans with the new ones. Yuk. The cheesecake was a small square. Not a slice of cake. They charge too much money for a 3"X3" square. The short, black, waiter with an attitude, refused to add my dessert to my ticket. He said the computer wouldn't allow him to add items. Liar. He said "tell the other guy to make another ticket for it". Then said that he cannot get the tickets out of order. He just made up lies so would not have find my ticket and mess up his rhythm. When he presented me with that stupid hand-held thing for payment, he told me "you need to put a tip". Boy did I tell him off and NOT tip him. He argued with me about it and was very rude. He was supposed to give us receipts from that stupid machine, but he dropped that ball too. Again, he has his own system and just can't be bothered. The owner was very kind and understood my complaints. But the damage was already done. Great atmosphere and decor. It's a class act. If only the waiter had class like the owner.

A Sobering Experience — For All the Wrong Reasons I had high hopes for this place — the atmosphere looked inviting and the reviews seemed promising. Unfortunately, the evening took a strange turn when the owner decided to make himself the center of attention… after apparently having one too many. Instead of greeting guests with professionalism, he staggered from table to table, loudly inserting himself into conversations and creating an uncomfortable scene. The staff did their best to maintain composure, but it’s hard to enjoy a meal while watching the person in charge slur through small talk and disrupt diners. It’s a shame, really — the restaurant could be charming if it were run with the same care its patrons are expected to show. Hopefully, management sobers up enough to realize that hospitality doesn’t come in a bottle
