Ristorante carino, con posti sia all’ interno che all’esterno, situato in un piazza leggermente più in disparte della famosa passeggiata dove è sempre pieno di gente, scelta dei piatti non molto ampia ma questo permette di far sì che sia tutto buono, e di qualità, servizio veloce e la signora dei tavoli con i ragazzi sono molto gentili e sono molto attenti ai clienti e a farli stare bene, passando anche dopo, per chiedere se andasse tutto bene… sicuramente consigliato .. prezzi onesti anzi anche al di sotto della media… COMPLIMENTI FATE DAVVERO UN BUON LAVORO

Questo ristorante - trattoria è una vera perla a Polignano a Mare! È disposto su due livelli: al piano superiore si mangia praticamente all’interno di una grotta, un ambiente molto suggestivo che rende l’atmosfera unica. Siamo andati anche con il passeggino e ci siamo trovati benissimo, accolti con grande disponibilità e attenzione. I piatti sono superlativi, curati e ricchi di sapore: dagli antipasti al dolce è stata un’esplosione di gusto. Le brasciolette sono un must assoluto, buonissime, davvero imperdibili. Un grazie speciale a Miriam, dolcissima e premurosa, sempre attenta e capace di farti sentire a casa. Consigliatissimo, esperienza da rifare!

I am not sure why this restaurant does not have 5 star reviews all around, but perhaps some people had different experiences than we did. We searched all over Polignano a Mare, finding every restaurant full on a rainy October evening. The Cuccundeo had a table for three and we were more than pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was perfect: refined, yet relaxed, with calm music and impeccably friendly and informed service. We ordered the superb "delizie di casa' antipasto which we shared between three people. One of our company had a lovely tagliata, and two of us shared a zuppa di mare, which was incredibly good, and very generous. I lived in Italy for many years and have travelled all over so my very positive review is not an uninformed opinion. I am not bowled over by my first meal in Italy, in other words. It was an evening not only saved, but elevated, and the prices were very good. I will also attest to the Primitivo wine that we were served. Local and top notch. Complimenti!

This cozy spot has a few tables indoors, a few right in front, and more seating in the piazza. It wasn’t too busy when I went, which was shocking to me, because everything was so good. They had a tasting menu for two and a la carte dishes. I went for the pizza because I could smell it outdoors. It was made quickly as there weren’t too many people there, and delivered by the chef (I think). The menu had classic dishes as well as some modern takes. They were simple and made with fresh ingredients. Service was quick, efficient, and friendly. A woman managed all the tables indoors and the 2-3 out front. Despite my limited Italian skills, we were able to communicate well. And Google translate helped me decipher the menu. Outside of fine dining, this was the best service I had. It felt like a mom and pop shop. I would definitely come back again. With a large group so we could eat all the things.

Right out over the ocean, very casual and rustic but so beautiful. Food was delicious and fresh. Carmelized tomatoes made me want to weep with joy! Tiny clams were so yummy and I don't usually like clams. The fish stew was still boiling when they served it.

Service and the food were excellent. It's much better than touristic places around. The prices are honest as well! Thank you so much. Our server, who was a lady with glasses, was great at her job. Would definitely recommend it to everyone. We ate a lot and spent less compared to other places.

This was a real find by my eldest daughter. We were treated to the most amazing plant based Anti Pasta, wow it just kept coming and so delicious! Great main dishes to follow, the vegetable tortellini was stunning, such fine pasta and flavoursome sauce. All washed down with great house wine at €6/lt. Thanks for an amazing time!

SOLO TRAVELLER: I took the cheese antipasto which was nothing out of the ordinary but quite full filling, the pasta (foglie di Oliva) was amazing, each pasta tasted like eating an olive. Highly recommended and very welcoming staff.... Also bread, olives and taralli were served while waiting for the food.

Went for dinner on a beautiful summer night. 🌙 As soon as I sat down, the waiter brought some tasty olives for starter while I decided what to eat. Un bel posto. In vista della mia vacanza in puglia ho deciso di recarmi in ristoranti di pesce. Colpiti dal punteggio e dalle recensioni ci siamo recati al cuccundeo, inoltre ben posizionato sulla piazza centrale. Abbiamo preso come primo gli orecchioni con tonno pinna gialla, datterino e stracciatella affumicata. I sapori erano perfettamente bilanciati e ognuno di essi era saporito al punto giusto. Soddisfatti del primo abbiamo preso una frittura mista, un po' deludente per i bianchini e le alici ancora con tutte le interiora e i calamari con la panatura un pò molle. Tutto sommato non era male, un bel posto in una bella località tutta da scoprire, sicuramente non è sconsigliato.

Great pizza, central location – with room for service improvement We had two really good pizzas at Il Cuccundeo – well made, tasty, and definitely worth the visit. The location is perfect, right in the heart of Polignano, and the prices are fair for the quality. That said, the service could be improved. At times, 2–3 staff members were chatting among themselves while we were trying to order, which made us feel a bit overlooked. Also, it was quite windy outside, and it would’ve helped if they had secured the tablecloths, as they kept blowing up while we were eating. All in all, we’d still recommend the place – just with a small suggestion for the staff to pay a bit more attention to guests during service

Locale ideale per una cena informale, buona e senza pretese. Arredamento e interni molto tradizionali con possibilità di sedersi all’esterno in tavolini sulla piazza. Una pecca è l’impossibilità di prenotare, che ci ha impedito di poter riservare un posto all’esterno. Abbiamo provato il menù degustazione: per gli antipasti ne vale la pena, ma gli spaghetti alle vongole e la fettina di spada e seguire hanno un pochino deluso le aspettative.

Una delusione! Abbiamo ordinato un tris di carpaccio di pesce, fettine sottilissime e una fettina per persona. Forse una fettina in più era meglio, ma va bene così. Il cameriere mi ha tolto il piatto mentre stavo finendo di mangiare! Assurdo. poi abbiamo ordinato due Ciccio e una tagliata e uno spiedino misto di carne da mangiare insieme al Ciccio. Il cameriere ci ha chiesto se volevamo mangiare tutto insieme, abbiamo detto di sì. Ma abbiamo avuto subito il Ciccio e dopo 45 minuti la carne, ( dura e gommosa, piena di grasso sotto una suola di scarpa, la cottura pessima) quindi ormai il ciccio era una crosta di pane dura , inmangiabile piena di origano e sale ( amatissima e salata) . Lo spiedino misto di carne era bruciato fuori e carne secca dentro. Il locale carino, era semi vuoto, quindi non capisco la maleducazione e lo stress dei camerieri. Putroppo esperienza pessima. Prezzo elevato e scarsa qualità. Aggiungo alla vostra risposta: questo è il mio giudizio da ristoratore e da pescatore. Il ciccio NON mi è stato assolutamente sostituito! L'onestà è la mia priorità.

La scelta del menù è al quanto fuorviante. Se scegli il menù pizza (20 euro) minimo 2 persone, non puoi scegliere le pizze messe in menù ma solo una parte. Mi spiego meglio, le pizze da scegliere costano al massimo 7,5 euro, ne avrei presa una che costa 8 ( 0,50 centesimi di differenza) siamo in 3 persone, il coperto 2€, bevande non incluse nel menù. Morale della favola abbiamo pagato 44€ mentre se ci facevano prendere il menù con la pizza scelta da noi avrebbero incassato 60€ per menù, 6€ di coperto, 10€ di bevande e 4€ di patatine fritte per un totale di 80 euro. A voi le conclusioni. P.s. risposta al titolare. Il conto lo avete fatto voi e di sicuro avete perso euro... Per quanto riguarda il voler mangiare tanto e spendere poco penso non sia da commentare anche in considerazione che gli antipasti del menù prevedevano solo 4 piatti ( di solito l'antipasto è molto più ricco di portate). In primo luogo ci avete costretto a prendere solo la pizza, eravamo disposti a pagare più di quello che avete incassato e di conseguenza devo pensare che questa sia una vostra strategia per fare deviare le scelte dei clienti a non fare scegliere i menù da voi proposti per poter spillare più asoldi ai vostri avventori. Concludo dicendo ai futuri clienti di stare attenti a cosa scegliere da mangiare o ancora meglio se scegliere il vostro locale che adotta questa politica. Buona vita e amai più rivederci.

The pizza I received was terrible due to the ratio of the ingredients as visible on the picture. Maybe the restaurant has good intentions and wanted to feed me well, but the experience turned out to be unpleasant. Therefore I don't recommend this pizza.

Would not give even one star for this place. Really had more expectations then getting very stinky fish, which I guess was not even freshly made and the taste was awful. I’m not picky on food, but I really could not force my self to eat it. Even the texture of the fish just confirmed that it was not fresh. 😞 My husband had prawns, also tasted too fishy. I am very sure that our food was not fresh and even risky to eat. The starters felt like it was just bought from the store, specifically the fish was so sour that we only managed to try it but not eat it. The waitress was very dawn mood. We informed from the beginning that we don’t eat meat and she brought to my husband steak instead of the prawns. Her daughter was running after her while she was working and serving her husband who was sitting next to us. Felt like we are disturbing, while she had a family to take care of. Very unprofessional 😕 I would recommend to find another place.
