I loved it. Came here in a rush and got something to eat real quick but the bread and olives were delicious. The service was great and the pleace is impeccable. I enjoyed the atmosphere and definitely want to come back to celebrate a special occasion or even for a date Night. Totally worth it 🥰
We have lived in South Florida for 6 years. We have driven all over FL searching for good Portuguese food, with no success until Vinhus opened!!! What a delight. The location is perfect, the staff/family is so kind and take pride in their restaurant and customers. We are original from CT and ate at great Portuguese restaurants in NJ, CT and MA. Vinhus is my favorite.
Excellent experience overall! White sangria espectacular, paella flavor exceptional. Definitely would recommend anyone to visit you will not be disappointed!
At Vinhus Grill - the flavors rise, A feast of fire - that satisfies. Every dish a savory thrill — Pure delight at Vinhus Grill! THANKS FOR FAST DELIVERY
Exquisite food, amazing savory flavors and top tier customer service! Will plan on returning soon!
Great experience and phenomenal food, I can’t recommend this restaurant enough. I’ve been eyeballing this place because it’s so close to me and has such an inviting look. But I will say after trying to food I am here to stay! We started with the octopus to share. It was delicious, flavored with lemon and spices and grilled enough where the inside was still super tender. It came with a side of tomato salad and olive oil drizzle. Then we went for the pita bread & butter which was super flavorful and such a great addition. The sea food pasta was delicious, adorned with shrimp, squid and clams. It was everything I could wish for. My husband for the swordfish with rice and salad. Also a phenomenal choice. The dishes tasted fresh and home made which we found to be charming. Another plus is the size of the plates. While it was too much for one sitting I am fond of taking leftovers, but I’m sure some people will find comfort in knowing you won’t leave hungry. They had tons of wine options that paired well with the food, and our waiter was knowledgeable in the dish to drink pairing so if there’s any doubt you can always ask him. I will say I was a bit taken with the prices of the plates, but after seeing the size of it I can understand why. The restaurant has a modern look to it which was something I did not expect, since the building outside is somewhat rustic. Overall, great experience and I hope to return soon.
I recently dined at Vinhus, and overall, it was a delightful experience. The ambiance of the restaurant is warm and inviting, with traditional decor that transports you straight to Portugal. The menu offers a wonderful selection of authentic dishes. We started with the bacalhau ze do pipo , which was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The flavors were vibrant and true to the traditional recipe. For the main course, I opted for the seafood , which was rich and satisfying, packed with fresh ingredients. The service was attentive without being intrusive, and our server was knowledgeable about the menu, offering great recommendations. My only critique would be that the dessert options were somewhat limited. The pastéis de nata we ordered were delicious, but I would have loved to see more variety. Overall, Vinhus is a fantastic
This place deserves more than 5 stars for sure. Everything was perfect, service, food, I definitely will be back.
Omg!! So good. From Michigan and wanted seafood. Boy were we surprised, got ahi tuna and octopus. Seriously, please go here unbelievable food and service. Out of this world.

We ordered the gyro platter and the moussaka, as well as the Greek yogurt mousse for dessert. Everything was delicious and the portion sizes were generous. Service was also excellent.

The restaurant was comfortable and welcoming, the service was warm, friendly and on point, the Red Sangria was delicious, the Bife a Portuguese was fantastic, The Chorico was so tasty and the perfect way to start the meal, steak grilled perfectly and the Carne Alentejana was flavored to perfection. As a Portuguese girl from Aveiro, this food stood out to me as authentic and traditional Portuguese gastronomy. We can’t wait to come back. This is officially my new favorite restaurant. 5 Stars all the way! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I’ve traveled to Portugal and tried bacalhau fish cakes there, and honestly, they didn’t come close to the ones at this restaurant. These are the best fish cakes I’ve ever had. If you’re ever in the area, this place is an absolute must-try. And the staff, they were above and beyond amazing! I Highly recommend this place!
Absolutely delicious fresh food with and amazing nice environment. I used to go to this restaurant when it was in NJ in my town but then they moved to Florida. So we had to come and try it and it was not surprising, the exact same absolutely outstanding with perfectly seasoned food cooked to perfection and everything came out fast and fresh, while the employees were very reliable and kind as well as the owner. Highly recommend outstanding I will be definitely coming back
Lovely place. Very well served by Ana Clara from Brazi and the owner himself. Great list of wine with the final touch of the desert from the house. Amazing date night with my fiance. Definitely coming back and bringing some friends.

First time trying this place. My husband and I love Portuguese cuisine. Food is delicious and service was outstanding! We got Ruan, a Brazilian young man that was absolutely amazing. We will go back for sure!

We were serviced by Fabio and Ruan, and they were the absolute best to me and my spouse. They were super helpful to make suggestions to help us choose our meals for the evening, as it was our first time here. Although unexpectedly small, the space is very beautiful and neat. I had the Grilled fish and my spouse had the Octopus. We also ordered the Bacalhau and it was the best we’ve ever had. Although it’s more on the expensive side, we really loved it!
The service was outstanding. The food was ok. Octopus was a bit fishy. The place is beautifully decorated but i was hoping to find a more traditional look. I didn't feel "transported to portugal".
“Visited this beautiful restaurant by Pompano Beach, and it was a great experience! The ambiance is perfect, with a cozy beachside feel that’s ideal for both lunch and dinner. Parking was a bit challenging, but that’s expected in the bustling downtown area. We tried the lamb chops, and although they were a bit pricey, the taste and quality were exceptional, making it worth every penny. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a memorable meal by the beach!”
What a great new find!!! We went with a Portuguese friend who helped with selecting our delicious meals. We started with a bottle of Vino Verde. Apps were pulvo a feira (octopus served with grilled potatoes) and cod fritters (you must try these!) Mains were Paella Valenciana with so much seafood, chicken and chorizo. The lobster could have been a bit fresher and the clams needed a few more rinses, but overall the flavor was good enough. And the portions were enough to share. And Bacalhau a Portugal. Dessert was perfection! Imperial pear. Beautiful presentation, and just the right amount of sweetness to complement the Barros 20 year Port. Parking is valet, or street. We know the area so found free street parking. Service was the only thing that they could improve upon. The servers are friendly enough just not real attentive. I don’t like to have to ask for more water several times during the night. Overall the owner knows well how to prepare bacalhau and the fish is beautiful and fresh. Until next time…Cheers🥂
Vinhus, in Pompano Beach. 2201 E Atlantic Ave. Portuguese restaurant in the Newark Ironbound style, in the former space of Ammos Greek Restaurant. Portuguese food is not a cuisine we have easy access to in SoFL. Still, it was widespread when Rachel and I lived in NJ — the Ironbound section of Newark, Ferry Street, and its environs was (and still is) filled with Portuguese and Spanish places and Brazilian food. This restaurant originates from Roselle, NJ, and operated for 12 years before the family moved to Coconut Creek. At one time, the family also owned Sagres on Ferry Street. This is as Jersey as your Portuguese food in SoFL is gonna get. Right now the menu is a soft launch menu, and their official grand opening is not until next month, so it should be considered temporary and limited. The chef/owner is still working out his regular seafood suppliers as he prefers to work with New England shellfish. So if your favorite dish isn’t there yet (mariscada, cataplana, paelha, etc) relax, it’s coming. And yes they do make those thin crispy olive oil fried potato chips you remember. As it was only the two of us we only got two things, a caldo verde soup and a porco alentejana, both were very good, with restrained saltiness. Liquor is wine and beer, but you’ll be happy so see that the wine list is decidedly Portuguese. They make both red and white sangria. Can’t wait to go back.

Overall, it was a nice experience. I’d definitely come back to try some other dishes or just enjoy the atmosphere again.
Portuguese cuisine isn’t very common in this area, so I really appreciated the concept — especially the use of imported products from Portugal, which adds a nice authentic touch. The atmosphere is very pleasant and perfect for a relaxed dinner. That said, I didn’t find the food particularly exceptional. The flavors felt a bit flat, and nothing really stood out in a memorable way. Still, it was a nice experience overall. I might come back to try other dishes or just to enjoy the ambiance again.

I was initially drawn to Vinhus Restaurant and Grill by the inviting ambiance that radiated even from the street. However, my experience was a disappointment. The fish I ordered was excessively salty, making it difficult to enjoy the dish. The service left much to be desired; staff were unresponsive and inattentive, despite the restaurant being nearly empty at the time of my visit. Even a simple request for takeout boxes took nearly 10 minutes to fulfill and getting extra sauce even when paid for was like pulling teeth. Unfortunately, the charm that first attracted me did not translate into the dining experience. My rating reflects my discontent: 1 stars for food, 2 stars for service, and 2 stars for atmosphere. I hope the management takes steps to improve these issues for future guests. 😒😑😔
