Opinions de Bartaco Port Chester
We enjoyed it so much that we returned again the same week. The food is flavorful, fairly priced, and truly stands out, especially the street corn, chorizo tacos, chips and guac, and churros with chocolate sauce. The coconut ice cream is also a must-try. The restaurant has a cozy, family-friendly atmosphere, complete with a fun kids tray served on a take-home frisbee. Service is friendly and efficient, though parking can be a bit challenging. Overall, it’s a place I highly recommend.
Bartaco never disappoints. We come here very often, and every single visit feels like a mini escape. The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented — from the tacos to the bowls and cocktails, everything tastes intentional and well-crafted. The service is always on point — attentive without hovering, friendly without being forced. You can tell the team genuinely cares about the experience. And the atmosphere? Perfect balance of vibrant and relaxed. Whether it’s a casual lunch, date night, or meeting friends, it just works. Consistency is hard to find, but Bartaco nails it every time. Easily one of our go-to spots.
margaritas, guac, and duck tacos are my favorite. need to get the salsa verde and roja with the guac. make sure you end with the churro and tres leche.
I have eaten in person and ordered from this restaurant more than 50 times. I lost count over the years. I keep Bartaco Portchester in my rotations of restaurants I frequent. I usually get the fish tacos the shrimp tacos and chorizo tacos. My boyfriend loves the pork belly tacos. For desert I always get the thres leches. Their drinks are very tasty. My favorite drink is their pomegranate lemonade. They also have a full bar with tasty drinks. They have indoor and outdoor dining. The music is lively and it’s always a good vibe and fun experience when I dine in.
Bar Taco is definitely one of our favorites! The pork belly tacos and the duck birria are awesome as are their margaritas. The Portchester location is definitely a vibe and gets crowded on the weekends, but we love it there. I also visit the Stamford location which doesn’t have the outdoor space but the food is just as good
First, I cannot overstate how friendly and welcoming the staff were. The interior was clean and spacious with a beautiful dining area outside right by the river. The tacos were unique and delicious and the drinks were awesome. I think we tried every single taco on their menu and they were all excellent. I especially loved the oyster and glazed pork. Overall, a top notch experience.
When you're looking for a taco, especially in a place like Port Chester, NY, the bar is often set pretty low. But not at Bar Taco. They consistently deliver a great taco and a freshly made margarita every time. What truly sets this place apart, though, is the service. General Manager Matt runs a tight ship, and his second in command, Quon, ensures everything runs smoothly. Wondering if it's worth waiting an hour for a table on a Friday night? The line out the door says it all. This is a great spot for families with kids earlier in the evening—they even provide coloring books and other activities if you forget a phone or tablet. If you prefer to be part of the "beautiful people" crowd, you can always go later. Or, you can just sit back and, like me, enjoy watching the world go by. You have to check this place out.
Okay so I'll start off saying that I love this place ! I am latina and I know a lot of people who may not agree with the ideas or pricing of this restaurant but I'm here to tell you different. Try this place out because it's so worth it! If you walk into this restaurant expecting to eat regular mexican tacos, you need to change your mindset. You will get so many surprises of flavor! Also if your vegan! Or vegetarian you have so many options at the place. So many small little things to try that have explosive flavor. Get a couple of friends, walk in with an open mind and ENJOY ♡
Mika was the absolutely best! She was so sweet and responsive! Give that girl a raise!
Apart from the delicious tacos, refreshing drinks, and relaxing ambiance, I would like to commend the team for such amazing service. Shout out to NORA, who went above and beyond. I did not realize that I dropped my wallet when we left our table. We were already outside at the boardwalk when I saw her running towards me and handed my wallet. I had no idea that it fell off my pocket until that moment. Thankful for her honesty and concern. Grateful for people like Nora who made our dining experience even better. Will be back for sure!
No a bad option if you don’t by the city. Very big restaurant and it has a big backyard next to the marina. It offers variety of options, from kid menu to vegan, it also offer great non alcohol beverage. We ordered 5 different tacos, a chicken soup, and a nojito (an non alcohol version of mojito). It worth mentioning that you can order you food via the QR code on your table and pay it when you order. The real contactless service.
I’ve been visiting bartaco for years and have to attest that they’ve remained super consistent. Great drinks. Delicious food. Awesome music. I stopped in tonight and was taken care of by a server named Oscar. Really friendly gentleman that provided perfect service and was super hospitable. Ended up being one of managers on shift for the dinner service on a busy Thursday night. We arrived around 8 and joined the waitlist. Pro tip: use their app to get you on line and check in once you’re there. Saved us some time and got sat down within 10 minutes of waiting with about 12 tables ahead of our table for 2. Pictured are the guacamole and chips, tuna poke bowl, baja fish tacos, pork belly tacos, shrimp tacos, quesadilla, maduros (fried plantain), and guava margarita. All food came out within 20 minutes of placing an order on their app hosted by onedine. Super convenient. Even processed the bill. Couldn’t be happier. Can’t wait to stop in and grab another order of tacos.
Listen, when I tell you this place is a vibe!!! I love going to Bartaco. Literally one of the best restaurants that's I've ever been to. The food is amazing, the prices are so good you'll probably end up over indulging and the atmosphere it top tier. The customer service as well is great. Overall, I WILL be making my appearance multiple times a month to say the least.
I’ve been visiting bartaco for many years now. The quality of food is consistent on all places I have been to. All drinks are freshly made. Margaritas are super fresh and refreshing. The cauliflower taco and falafel is Delicious. Awesome music. They don’t take reservations however you can join the waitlist (1hr before). They are all cashless and you can use mobile to order food and drinks.
This place is awesome. But little extra pricey again it's worth for the price specially in the summer they will open the out door area and it's gives you a amazing experience. Bartenders are super friendly. I've been there couple times never had any issues except for the price lol 😂😉. But again I recommend this place for office lunch outing with ppl who know how to drink lol. Again this place is so good to have a conversation with a friend or co-worker no loud music during the lunch hour.
1st recommendation try to have a reservation for when you plan to go. Summer is the best time to go so you can sit outside. The place gets really busy and you might have to wait a lot if you dont have a reservation. The drinks were great , and the tacos too, a lot of options to choose from. I loved the set up. They have a great atmosphere with great music , it gets a little loud but it's great. Some tables are a little low but everything is great. Remember to get a reservation or you will be waiting over an hour.
Don’t get me started with the tres leche. I always order them to go . The whole menu is amazing , I do have a bad obsession with this place. They need to have a rewards system because the amount of money I spent here and the amount of times I came here it’s bad . The view is amazing , they need to make this place bigger. It’s such a great place .
Celebrated my birthday here with family—food and mocktails were spot on. In summer, it’s lively with great views of the Byram River.
I’ve been coming here since the pandemic with my family and it is such an amazing experience. Everyone is so friendly and we just love the food.
Bartaco in Port Chester, NY. It’s#bartacoMargaritaMarch at Bartaco and there’s no better place to have marg than at Bartaco! Truly one of my favorite places ever, Bartaco has vacation vibes all year round. The margaritas this month are all built around Libélula tequila—their custom blend that’s smooth, balanced, and made for sipping. The tacos, guac and bowls always hit the spot and I can’t wait to go back! 🌀 Dos piñas margarita: Libélula Joven Tequila + Dos Hombres Mezcal + Pineapple + Lime. 🌀Watermelon mint margarita: Libélula Joven Tequila + Watermelon Combier + Mint + Lemon. 🌀Guacamole and Chips: hand-mashed avocado, lime juice, serrano chiles, onions, and cilantro. 🌀Kale Chips: ancho chile seasoned and roasted kale chips w/ vietnamese inspired dipping sauce 🌀 Esquites: sweet corn kernels tossed with cotija cheese in a creamy and tangy mayo sauce and topped with cayenne 🌀Sesame ribeye taco: shaved ribeye beef marinated in a sweet sesame-soy sauce, topped with spicy kimchi and cilantro 🌀Chile-lime shrimp taco: spicy and tangy chile-lime marinated shrimp resting on a crisp and bright jicama escabeche and finished with a zesty pepita salsa macha. 🌀Crispy oyster taco: shucked and fried oyster served over a remoulade sauce. 🌀Pork belly + crispy rice bowl: braised pork belly caramelized in sweet arbol chile glaze + sesame bean sprout salad + pickled red onions + crispy rice. 🌀 chicken verde rice bowl: chile + herb marinated chicken + roasted corn + tortilla chips.
The customer service here is on point. Our waitress was friendly and was more than happy to explain everything and help us. The manager was great, too. The spicy cucumber salad we ordered tasted funky, and the manager handled it with 10 stars. She was surprised we tasted something weird, but she took the item off the bill and sent us fresh salad to take home. It was my second visit to this location and will definitely come back once again for their food and service.
Jennifer was an absolute delight. She made me feel like I was at home iutik was a great host and Osei is the best bartender this side of the Mississippi
I was blown away by this Bartaco location. My wife and I took are daughters (nearly 2 & nearly 4 years old) on the way up from Jersey to Maine - and though the food was superb and the atmosphere on the outside deck equally so, what really took the cake was the service. Molly, who I assume was either the owner or GM the location, was unbelievable sweet with our children from the moment we arrived, to the moment we left. She was genuinely more helpful than any one of my family members are with our kids 😂 The tacos - particularly the pork belly and the duck - were out of this world. The sampler was superb, fresh, and great for sharing. Great selection of drinks. If I could give it 100 stars, I would. We may live 3 hours away, but we will definitely be returning!
Always a great time. An easy order XP — and the food is amazing. Great vibes. Will continue coming back!
Wow! Amazing experience and I loved everything that I tried. I also had a watermelon margaritas and it was delicious! Make sure you order like 5 tacos for adults. You will certainly need it. Overall, great experience great customer service and great food with drinks. The sight is nice to by the porch.
I can’t even begin to say how delicious the food was, how wonderful the atmosphere was with indoor and outdoor seating that is covered and looks out onto the water. The service was perfect: friendly, informative of the menu and the drinks. I highly suggest the margarita that uses the slightly aged in-house tequila. I believe it’s called “resperda,” but feel free to ask the informed server - they will not steer you wrong. A perfect date place, family outing, or just take yourself out to eat, bartaco is a must go in Portchester.
The food was amazing!! The pork belly tacos were life-changing… the duck tacos were also great … the margaritas and guacamole had the best spice.. their meats generally were so well seasoned and delicious.. the churros were crunchy and delicious.. the tres leche cake with coconut shavings and the coconut ice cream touched my soul!!! 10 out of 10 would recommend!!!
Great food, kind staff, and plenty of seating. My friend and I shared chips and salsa plus guacamole, and she got two tacos plus street corn, and I got the chicken verde rice bowl. There is an enclosed patio with heat lamps and I think they have blankets, plus other outdoor seating that is exposed, and there is of course, indoor seating. Joined the online waitlist as they don’t take reservations, but it didn’t seem necessary, as my friend and I arrived at noon on a Sunday and there was no wait for a table. Not sure if it’s much busier on other days or in warmer weather, but today, there was no wait. As a note, you check off what you want to order on the menu, and if you need anything at any time, there is a sign you place on a part of the table that sticks up to alert the staff that you need something. There is a big parking lot, which is helpful, as parking could otherwise be difficult in the area.
Place is great. Clean atmosphere. Welcoming staff. Great drinks and free parking. Can't go wrong here. My personal favorite are the duck tacos.
First time at Bartaco and it was surprisingly a great experience. The service and food was top notch. Our waitress Ari was very helpful with selecting from menu and making really good recommendations. We ate on the outside patio which was nice but bar area looked very inviting. Highly recommend!
I LOVE it here! The servers are attentive, kind, and fun! The food is good and the drinks are off the chain.
The food is really good! Best taco EVER! The customer service is amazing. You can order everything with a QR code in your table, everything came super fast. I recommend to make a reservation in the weekends or arrive early, we went in a Saturday 5PM, without reservation but they were able to accommodate us fast. The drinks are great and the atmosphere is nice!
I took my granddaughter for the NYE kids' countdown. The staff was great and attentive. Lily was our server. The food and drinks were good and came out at a great pace. Molly, the assistant manager went to each table where kids were celebrating and made the experience a fun time. My granddaughter received a bag with NYE swag which was much appreciated. The coloring book and crayons were a plus. Great job Bar Taco and I look forward to your next event!
How tasty and delicious are those tacos!!!!!! Omg!!! The are bite size but indescribable delicious… I had almost the whole Menu … the desserts are small and delicious!! The drinks were outstanding ❤️ the indoor and the outdoor is beautiful! This is MUST GO! I been there 3 times and I been always 100% satisfied
AMAZING ALL THE WAY THROUGH. We had a party of about 20, and they all loves it. Alright planning to go again, it has been about 2 weeks since last time. The manager was Great too!
Lovely spot by the river for some amazing Mexican food. Absolutely enjoyed the tacos and Esquites - all were on point and tasted amazing. Got to try the duck tacos and it didn’t disappoint at all. Service was efficient throughout and staff were all super friendly. Love the nice cosy vibes of the indoor cocktail bar and also the cooler sea breeze ambience on the alfresco. Amazing experience on overall and great for families, dates or group catchups.
Mika was an amazing server. She has a beautiful smile and her energy is so amazing. She was attentive, quick, funny, personable, and sweet. I recommend her as a server because she is the BEST.
Mika was the best server!! this is my first time here and I’m definitely coming back. She suggested so many good options she’s the best !!
Came here a few times, food and service is great. This last time Brandon, the bartender, was super nice and very knowledgeable. His co worker Eddie was kind as well. The manager Matt was cool too. We would definitely go back and especially when Brandon is working!!
We had an early lunch and they opened promptly at 11:00 AM. The was perfect for our schedule that day. They have their own way of offering the different plates which we found enjoyable. Great service and very friendly. Pictures are from outside where you can park and see the river and small park.
Love this place. Sit at the bar. Service is always great and fast. Food top notch. Check out their 15 days of giving this month for free desserts. Highly recommend the mezcal paloma with the Tajin rim. Also the Posole is fantastic.
Huge shoutout to Matt, the manager at the Port Chester location. After an issue with an Uber Eats driver tampering with my food, Matt went above and beyond to make things right. Even though I ordered through a third-party app, Matt personally ensured my large order was remade and arranged for it to be delivered directly by the restaurant right away. Matt’s professionalism, care, and commitment to customer satisfaction truly stood out. Excellent service like this is rare and very much appreciated. Thanks again Matt!!!
bartaco is an amazing experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is modern, relaxed, and welcoming—perfect for a casual night out or a special dinner. The service is quick and friendly, and ordering through your phone makes everything easy and efficient. The food is outstanding, but the real star of the menu is the pork belly tacos — hands down the best I’ve ever had. The pork belly is cooked to perfection: incredibly tender, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, paired with fresh ingredients that elevate every bite. The flavors are authentic, well-crafted, and consistently excellent. bartaco doesn’t just meet expectations — it exceeds them. Highly recommended, and definitely a place you’ll want to come back to.
The food is amazing. It stands out and has unique flavors. My go to is the street corn, chips and guac, chorizo tacos, and churros. The churros are absolutely amazing with the chocolate sauce. It’s crowded a lot and has a friendly cozy atmosphere for mingling and families. The parking is a little annoying otherwise, everything about this place is a high recommendation!
What a great vibe great personable staff and manager. They all made sure to stop by and have a quick word. Now the food phenomenal I had the 3 taco meal with chopped salad. Super delicious then I went for extra and ordered the ceviche. Every thing had such a flavor pop. I can wait to go here again.
We enjoyed it so much we came back again within the same week! The food is good and fairly priced, the service was friendly and efficient, and it’s just a nice looking restaurant. They’re also very family friendly with a “kids tray” that gives a nice variety and is served on a frisbee to take home. I enjoyed their chopped salad with chicken, street corn, tacos, and the best coconut ice cream you’ll come across!
I've been going to Bartaco for over a ten years and ive never had a bad meal here. During my last visit I had the retro pork tacos and they were delicious. The house margarita is one of my favorite drinks and its still tastes good. Also the plantains with the sauce are also a favorite of mines this location is by the water so its a definite vibe for summer time
Good food, good service, nice atmosphere, easy parking. Wide selection of tacos and other Mexican dishes. Staff very friendly and service was quick. Very reasonable prices. Lunch for 5 was less than $120 all in including tip. Outdoor seating is shaded and was comfortable even in July. Should definitely stop in when in Port Chester.

Terrific food, Fab atmosphere - fun vibe - great service, you can't go wrong here. Go with friends, a date, family or alone, go for lunch or go for dinner BUT GO!!!
Came here for happy hour on Friday but there were no deals. Despite this the food was decently priced along with the drinks. I got three tacos and thank god I wasn’t hungry as they were smallllll, delicious but small. The pork, shrimp and chicken and pineapple was delicious! The guacamole and salsa are also well done! The corn fritters were a bit cheesy but getting them with the plantains were a good idea! The view on the water is also beautiful!
very busy and bustling restaurant in the neighborhood! the vibes and atmosphere is 👍 love the tacos, soup and bowls - all of which are absolutely delicious. service was very good and food were served promptly. also appreciated that the place provided many heaters outdoors so everyone is comfortable sitting outside in winter. they had a live dj who was playing upbeat house music as well.
This was my first time at Bar Taco. I must say it's pretty crowded on there so I'd you're thinking about going, just call ahead to join the wait list for a table. It's by the water and there is indoor and outdoor seating. I tried the Baja taco, Chile shrimp taco, oyster taco, chicken taco and pork belly taco. I recommend the pork belly and chicken. I also tried the duck birria and it's ok, not the best. The Mexican street corn is a definite must! Also I ordered a panucho and never received it. Nevertheless, it's pretty good in there
The food is great the drinks are good. Service at times slacks and I get it, it can get crowded and and a bit confusing for servers when bringing out the food or drinks. If I could change one thing it would be the seating out back with the small kindergarten chairs they are too uncomfortable to sit and enjoy a meal and a few drinks. They should make the whole place with the normal tables and chairs. Other than that the place has great vibes at night
Trendy place with nice outdoor seating. Very busy (and a little noisy), but lets you call 30 min ahead for seating. Tacos are good, price for them ok $2.50/$3.50. Lots of great options for kids. Nice cocktail/drink selection but the size you get for the price it terrible. Their waiters system is great... you just put the dragongly card on the clip and they know you need something.
I love the vibes of this place. Its lovely at any time of day/night, lunch or dinner. Prepare for really spicy foods -- it was hard to find foods that weren't. The plantains are a great side dish! The drinks are hit or miss and a bit overpriced. Small portions. Overall, its a nice restaurant.
Excellent spot for some tacos and good drinks . The outdoor dining experience is phenomenal with social distancing and space heaters to keep you warm. All the staff were wearing mask. Our waitress and the support staff were super helpful and accommodating. Place is great food pescatarians, vegans and carnivores. Enjoy!
Amazing Margarita, food, view, and customer service!!! The only complaint I have is the wait time for food and drinks. It will take up to 40 mins to receive your initial order any additional orders are a 20 to 30-minute wait on a busy day. Also, portions are very small. But overall I highly recommend it food and drinks are worth the wait.
Visited last weekend - hands down one of my favorite hidden gems! LOVE the food, drinks, ambiance, and self-ordering option! Let’s break this down: Food: I ordered the street corn as an app, two Baja fish tacos, one beef rib taco, and one squid. Street corn was so flavorful! Each taco was crispy, fresh seasoned nicely and only 3 to 4 dollars each! My entire bill came out to maybe $35 and you scan the barcode provided on the table to both order and pay for your meal. Once you’re done you can just get yo and leave. Such a nice experience! Drinks: I got the sangria and it was sweet but not too sweet! It did the job if you know what I mean. Overall the ambiance here is perfect for a date night or fun night out with friends! You can either eat inside where it has a nautical vibe or out in the patio which overlooks the water and has heated lamps for the colder weather.
Went to bartaco for lunch with my wife and daughter and had a wonderful experience. We were seated right away and got a great patio table with a water view. The service was excellent—friendly and attentive without being pushy. The food was very good, with the shrimp tacos standing out as especially delicious. My daughter enjoyed a chocolate ice cream cone for dessert, and the drinks (as always) were spot on. Overall, bartaco delivered everything we hoped for: tasty food, great service, and a relaxed atmosphere by the water. We’ll definitely be back.
Fantastic ambiance and very nice, sprawling space. Kid friendly. Was packed with a lot of people but since it's such a large space with 3 different areas, there was no wait. The prices are surprisingly low but once the food arrives it makes sense - the portions are on the small side. Their classic margarita was great but they waited a bit until a manager came over to the table and checked my ID before giving me the drink... I'm a 34-year old man with a beard, but whatever... Ordering took a bit to get used to as it's through your phone but once you get the hang of it it's actually convenient.
This place was great. Plus we caught it on an evening with perfect weather and sat outside. The only drawback was the complicated mobile device ordering (and paying) — a combination of QR code, online ordering from the table and assigning who pays the check at the start of the meal. That was frustrating. Everything else was a dream.
Food is right here. Great options for kids. Tacos are made perfectly. Must try them all. Guachamole is great. Ambience is nice overall, many tables for 2. Restroom are little under dimensioned considering of how many guests are possible to fit. Possible also take away food. Staff is nice and kind. Overall a very nice experience of dining. In summer the space outside is very nice. Is not possible to reserve tables here.
This place is absolutely enjoyable. The food was good, they had healthy options, gluten friendly. The drinks were top notch 👌🏽 the environment was packed!! The service was extremely prompt, especially when it came to the kitchen. You order on your phone through QR code or with pencil and paper. It can be separate orders/same order for the party at your table - and that got a little confusing, but other than this it was a fun outing. On your way out, grab their souvenir, a box of matches with their logo. Very cool.

Place was very packed. They don’t make reservations but you can put your name on a waitlist 30 minutes before you arrive. We sat in the back patio and it was so hot like walking into a sauna packed with people. I would not sit in the back patio on a hot day between the humidity and bad body odor it’s not a pleasant experience. Ordered the chicken tacos and the chips and nachos and both were good. The margaritas were small and okay not worth 13.50. They do have parking in the back got a spot fairly quickly
Family style taco place.... ok. You either get a menu paper to mark what you want or order and pay with a q r code like in an airport... the servers were so nice we decided to just order with them. The tacos were tiny. The "sides" or the "not tacos" were just ok and also small portions. Chicken soup was delicious. Churros were the best but it's hard to mess up fired dough. Service was great. Everyone was helpful and welcoming. We even had a little tour of the patio that was closed due to rain and the cold. I would try to go back in the warmer weather for the views of the water.
The food is amazing here and would give five stars for food. However I have to give three stars instead since the person who picked up the phone was very rude, sounded like she was annoyed with us and didn’t want us to come, when we only asked about the wait time. Also the waiting system isn’t really organized. Wish they accept reservations since the parking lot gets full too.
I’ve been to bartaco many times without issue, which is why my experience at bar taco stamford last night was especially strange. We ordered through the QR/app because our server was MIA. We waited ~ 45 mins with no food. Even after putting up the attention card, we were ignored for another 10 mins. I eventually had to go to the kitchen myself. Once locating the server, he was dismissive and unprofessional. At that point, I asked for the manager and ended the interaction. Because of this unexpected delay, I missed the start of my movie and received a $25 parking ticket. I should mention this was my “date night” with my husband. We weren’t able to stay for the food to arrive + had to leave without eating. I am blessed (and honestly.. so is bar taco) that my 2 + 6 year old weren’t with me for this experience. The manager was apologetic and handled the situation as appropriately as possible, which is the only reason this isn’t a much lower rating. I was told the system lost our order, but no one checking on a table for nearly an hour is unacceptable. This was an upsetting experience at a place I’ve frequented many times. I’ll give it another chance in the future and update this review if things improve.
Honestly this place goes more and more downhill. I used to really like it back in the day but it seems quality control has become pretty trash now that they’ve gotten a lot bigger. Tacos usually come out not even warm, just cold. Even when it’s not crazy busy. It shouldn’t be that hard. Or the food just takes Forever even when it’s a simple order. Pretty over it. Bartaco used to have so much potential but the more I’ve gone in there the past 4 or 5 years it seems like they’re blowing it.
As a first visit, I was unimpressed and have no desire to return for a second visit. We sat at the area around the bar, 2 people. We were handed menus and told someone would be around to take our order. We wrote our selections on the menu form…. 25 minutes and not one person came by to take our drink or food order. I found someone to ask and they said I needed to take it to the bar… okay. Brought the order form to the bar and ordered our drinks. 20 mins later we had 4 of the 5 miniature tacos we ordered. Trying to get our bartender’s attention to get the missing taco was impossible. I had to ask one of the bussers. Missing tacos arrives, we eat, finish our drinks and want to pay our bill. Same issue as before - our bartender was occupied flirting with ladies at the bar and showing them things on his phone. We were finally able to pay and leave. The best part of the restaurant was the hot sauce selection. The tacos were unimpressive in size and taste. We ordered corn tortillas and bib lettuce as a wrap. The bib lettuce was wilted and torn making it difficult to get off the platter. We ordered mushroom, shrimp, crispy fish, pork belly and carnitas.
Bartaco has such great options but the pork belly bowl changed and is no longer good. The crispy rice should be removed and be replaced with the regular rice like it used to be. I would have chosen to get the pork belly tacos instead. Consideration should be made and a possible option to swap it out.
Functional, but not ideal. The food is great, as well as the drinks - absolutely no complaints. If you use the app to join the waitlist, you should get seated within about 30 minutes or so, which isn’t bad at all. Great selection of tacos and appetizers, all very tasty. The service / system they have in place needs work. There was a lot of confusion, and everything felt very chaotic. It was incredibly loud, so much so that holding a conversation was nearly impossible. Overall, it was an OK experience, but definitely not my favorite.

I came here for the first time the other day, and it was honestly not worth the hype. I had heard about this place before and we decided to give it a try. We called to “save” our spot in line and when we got there, we still had to wait over an hour when we were told a table would be ready by the time we arrived. We ended up being seated at almost 9:30 pm, after arriving at 7:30. We were sat on these TINY stools, that looked to be meant for children. The tables were super low, we might as well have sat on these floor. Everybody was hunched, and had to constantly get up to stretch our backs. The waiter Fernando, was very kind and attentive. But due to the LOUD music, he could barely hear us speaking to him. The volume was all the way up, and the bar was really crowded which didn’t help to the loads of people sitting in the restaurant. Everyone talking at the same time and the loud music sounded like a bunch of seagulls yelling and squawking. There seems to not be enough staff both on the floor, and in the kitchen because just to get a drink it took over 10 minutes. And the food took about 25 minutes to come, even the small appetizers. The tacos were very good, but the portions were TINY. For the price we had to pay, it was not worth it. Their mojito was very good, but took way too long to come. It’s a very small restaurant and everyone is squeezed together. Our backs were right up against other people behind us. There’s no leg room, and no space to put your plate. Definitely not a good experience

Ordered takeout. They texted me 35 mins. later for pickup. The taco were cold and tasteless. A waste of money.\n\nIt is a very loud, chaotic atmosphere. It seems very unorganized.

went for lunch and there was a baby cockroach in my drink as well as bit one on the table, I quietly told the waitress and she said sorry let me get you another one. They didn't even take the drink off the bill until I asked. I didn't expect everything to be free but to not even take care of the drink with a roach inside of it was a little disturbing.
Absolutely the worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. During my visit, our card was charged twice adding up to almost $900 because Bar Taco had us order through BOTH the digital system and the waitress. The whole setup was a mess, and the waitress clearly got confused. When I brought it to the managers attention they were completely useless. No real apology, no urgency, nothing. They basically shrugged and told me it would take weeks to fix THEIR mistake. Weeks. Meanwhile almost $900 is just gone from the account. The lack of accountability, the disorganized ordering system, and the manager’s attitude were honestly unbelievable. This place needs to get its act together because right now it’s a disaster. I won’t ever be coming back, and I’d warn anyone thinking about going if they can mess up this badly and not care, imagine what else they’ll mishandle. They are also a CASHLESS establishment so be careful.
My wife and I have been going to Bartaco for years and honestly this might be the last time we go. For what you pay and for the size of the tacos is definitely not worth it anymore. On top of that I ordered a crispy rice pork belly bowl which was really bad. The rice on the inside was mushy and burnt on the outside plus the pork belly was burnt as well. Service isn’t the same anymore since they inserted the QR method. Truly disappointing and won’t be back again.
Absolutely disgusting. I took one bite of everything and couldn’t even swallow it. I was immediately grossed out. The chicken tasted bad and unsafe, and the overall food quality was nauseating. The restaurant felt dirty, which made the experience even worse. This was not a taste preference issue, this was a serious quality and cleanliness problem. The server was kind and did remove the two chicken tacos from the bill, which I appreciate, but that does not undo how vile the food was. I left feeling sick. What’s frustrating is that the Nashville location was fantastic, so I know this brand can do better. Unfortunately, this location was a complete failure. I would never return to this location.
I love bartaco generally. I go often to the stamford location and order via Uber eats often. I went today to Bartaco this evening in Port chester and ordered the 40 dollar carafe at the bar while we waited for our table. Everything was great, the decor, the bartender was excellent. The manager Oscar came over to show us to the table and I asked would he or our server be able to bring the carafe over to our table. I explained that it was heavy, we didn't want to hit any one or drop it and both me and my guest had disabilities- he was astonishingly rude and mean spirited and refused to bring it to our table and told us to bring it ourself with a look of disdain on his face. It was deeply hurtful and inappropriate. I explained to him that this is an ada violation and inappropriate and he didn't care at all. It ruined our entire experience. His name was Oscar. I hope no one else ever has to endure this type of humiliation. ***Update****as a follow up, I asked to speak to the manager on duty. Brandon was brought to the table. I explained everything that happened with Oscar to Brandon and he told me that Oscar told him that he asked Diego, a server, (who was very kind and excellent) was bringing the the drink to the table after he seated us. Brandon then changed his story and said that Oscar told him that he (Oscar himself) was bringing it, then Brandon, when I asked him to clarifiy, said that Oscar told him that the bartender was bringing it and that I must have misunderstood Oscar. I assured him that Oscar looked me directly in my eyes and told me to go get it myself. I saw Brianna walk by our table as Brandon and I were speaking and asked her whether she brought the drink to our table or not (she did), she confirmed in front of Brandon. I asked him, why he would lie directly to my face and imply that I was lying about Oscar's behavior, Brandon could not offer a coherent response. I told him that we had disabilities and that this was a violation of the ada as they had been informed and also that we believe racial discrimination was at play here. He said he doesn't think that's the case. I asked him if Oscar's behavior reflects policy and he said no, I asked if he believes Oscar would treat every patron that way, Brandon said no, my mother asked if Brandon felt Oscar would treat a white patron that way, Brandon said no so I told him, this is part of why we fear the treatment is disparate as we are African American. Briana offered to comp our meals which was kind of her, but this experience was deeply troubling and unsettling for us. Not only was I publicly disrespected by Oscar but Brandon attempted to lie to cover it up, implying I was lying and implicating Diego no less ( who was kind excellent and innocent, I would note our waitress, Mika was also 10/10, as was the bartender and Briana).
