I came here with my family as a table of eight, we were seated within 10 minutes in a freshly cleaned and opened side area of the restaurant. The food was amazing and affordable. I suggest you try the crab fingers as an appetizer for your visit. Service was prompt, no one had an empty glass for more than a few minutes. For a great experience you have to try this hole in the wall treasure of SPI/ Port Isabel just a block down from the lighthouse next time you visit the beach.

Great place to eat and outstanding place to buy fresh-caught seafood to take home on your way home after a day on SPI! They advertise that they cook what you catch but I’ve never gotten to do that. I always have my cooler and they provide enough ice to keep you purchase cold til you get home. If you are traveling far, stop at HEB and get some dry ice! This trip I bought red snapper filets and 2 pounds of the giant gulf shrimp. Yum! Nothing better! Also got 2 containers of their own recipe of fresh cocktail sauce. Only $4.95 each. Ready for a feast or three.

Apart from the fact that the food from restaurant is great, Joe’s has great quality fresh tuna sourced out of Florida. We’ve been enjoying as a crudo and the flavor and freshness is great. Not fishy, just fresh. Highly recommend their tuna.

Joe's has the best service, they acknowledge ypu as soon as you walk through the door, very courteous and professional. The food is outstanding. I recommend the Joe's Deluxe platter: fried shrimp, fish, oyster and crab and the portions are WOW, (don't forget your to-go box .) Don't mention the prices they are considerable fair for the value and quantity! I love how they take care of every customer individually you will never run out of anything, the staff is on top of everything. Only place My family goes to for seafood 😋

The food was delicious. The service was awesome: the employees were attentive. Every employee that passed by asked if I needed a refill or anything else. Our waiter was friendly and waited patiently while I was deciding what to order. Highly recommend!!!

It's really good, fresh seafood. I was not disappointed There is construction on the street, so i had to park in the rear. The place is a fish market slash restaurants. No frills place with fresh seafood. They do serve beer and wine as well. I had the fried platter, and it was fresh and hot. FISH ,SHRIMP, OYSTERS, STUUFED CRAB COLESLAW, FRIES AND A ROLL. the only thing i thought was ok was the store crab but it was still good. I will definitely be back.

Coming from McAllen, we have high expectations for seafood, and this restaurant consistently exceeds them! We chose to celebrate our birthdays here this year, and it was the perfect decision. My husband, who'd always wanted to try their snapper, was so pleased with the option to pick his own fish. He couldn't stop raving about how delicious it was and confirmed it was well worth the cost. I, of course, enjoyed my usual favorite – it's always a winner! We brought a birthday cake, and sharing it with the wonderful staff made our celebration feel even more special. It was truly a fantastic birthday experience all around.

Freshest and best seafood I've had in any restaurant I've been to while visiting the Rio Grande Valley. No wonder my brother in law loves this place so much! We drove all the way from Brownsville, because he wanted me to try the Seafood Stew. All I can say is it was delicious!! It's was loaded with seafood; fresh chunks of fish, lots of shrimp, some crabmeat, mussels and conch, too! My sister got the Joe's Seafood Platter consisting of a couple filets of fresh fried fish, some fried shrimp, fried oysters and crabmeat stuffing on a half crab shell. I tasted some of the fish and it was fresh. Being from the southeast coast of Florida, I'm very skeptical when a restaurant boasts about "fresh caught" fish, but Joe's came in clutch! The place isn't big but it was packed, which is always a good sign that the food they serve is on point. They have a refrigerated section where you can choose whatever fresh seafood you'd like to purchase to take home and cook yourself. Plus, they will also cook your fresh catch in the restaurant if that's what you prefer! The waiters were great for being so busy, the Modelo 🍺🤠 was cold and the food was excellent! Can't ask for anything more! I'd recommend this nice little restaurant to anyone wanting some delicious fresh seafood while visiting the Rio Grande Valley.

I had the Caldo de Mariscos, and it was really good. They did not hold out on the seafood. Had the avocado and pico. Also good, but the pico needed some lime. Beer was cold. Service was awesome. Overall, everything was excellent. Love this place.

Joe's was highly recommended by a friend and knew I had to stop in! I went with the Nathan Special. I chose grilled but I think you can get fried or blacken. Fresh shrimp, Flounder, and crab cake. Huge meal but all so good. Everything was cooked to perfection. Service was friendly and quick. Great Job!

Joe's Oyster Bar has top notch service, we were regularly checked on and always had everything we needed. I do not like seafood, that is not their fault, so I ordered chicken strips and fries. They were very good. My husband enjoyed the sea food. It is a family restaurant, very busy (at least when we went, on a Sunday afternoon). It was really hopping, but they did a great job of keeping the line moving. I highly recommend this for a delicious family dinner with amazing service!

We wanted to try this place out since the reviews were so great. I don’t know why we did not get the experience what we read all the reviews raved about. Maybe it was an off day for them but they dropped the ball this day. Two of us ordered the grilled fish, shrimp, and oysters plate which I felt was not made fresh to order as if it was reheated. My bf ordered the fried oysters, shrimp, and calamari plate. He complained his oyster smell extra fishy so he gave me one and I took a bite but I couldnt finish the other half. It was extremely fishy perhaps it had gone bad. The last plate was a fried fish, shrimp, and oyster plate. Her fried fish turned out looking good and flaky but her oyster was also awful. The sides included Cole slaw which turned out very good and fries but I did sub my fries for onion rings for an extra charge which I happily agreed. The food was served on paper plates and plastic utensils. The server did not come around to refill our little plastic cups which we needed refills constantly but he seemed to be so busy with all the tables to serve. It appeared he was the only one in the dining room. Sadly I don’t think we will come back.

This place sucks! We chose lunch here because of the rave reviews we read. The place was PACKED when we arrived, only one table vacant. Wife ordered dozen oysters on half shell. Oysters were not 'cut' from the shell....they had to be torn from the shell (leaving a good hunk of edible oyster). We both ordered fried shrimp platter (8 shrimp). The shrimp were butterflied, frozen & breaded shrimp like you would buy in Costco/Sam's. I have never bitten into a shrimp as tough as these were (like biting thru a tough steak). I forced mine down because my last meal was the night before on the road at our motel. Wife left half the shrimp on her plate & refused to eat the crap. I grew up on the Gulf near Pensacola & FWB and I know how a Gulf shrimp should be readied to eat. This food was awful!

We had been wanting to try this place for a long time based on word of mouth and Google reviews. Finally got a chance to do that on a Saturday at 1pm. The place was packed. Unfortunately, we were thoroughly disappointed. There were 4 of us in our group, and 2 of us ordered the fried platter, and 2 of us ordered the grilled platter. The fish in the grill platter on both plates had to be cut with a knife. It was tough and toasted on the bottom side. All of the food on all four platters lacked flavor. There was no seasoning at all. The service, there was no service, our server never came back, not even once. I had to get up to ask where the water was so that I could fill my glass. I have never been so eager to visit a restaurant and be so thoroughly disappointed.
