This is by far the best Chinese restaurant I have ever found on Long Island. Their food is always fresh and delicious and I have been going to this restaurant since my children were small and they are now in their late 30's. They agree with me about this restaurant too. The family that owns it are the wonderful too.
I always purchase the chicken & broccoli in garlic sauce and the taste is up to par. Lunch specials are budget friendly as well.
This is definitely my favorite Chinese takeout, the food is delicious. Their chicken fried rice is unbelievable, I devour it so quick. The staff is very friendly, they greet me and soon as i walk in the door! 10/10
I've been going there for 10 years! Really good food! Friendly stuff! Warm cozy family run restaurant. My comfort food! Never let me down!

Great reliable Chinese meals. Been a patron for several years and got us out of a pinch when everything else closes on holidays. Nice friendly staff.

I like this place so much. The owners couldn't be nicer. I especially like the hot and sour soup, Szechuan wontons, boneless ribs, lobster, and their lobster sauce is flavorful. They will make a meal to your specifications. Best Chinese food in Port Washington!

I don't prefer the dark sauces that were made for my mooshu pork and garlic sauce shrimp. Friendly service and true to time they gave for take out. I felt comfortable ordering over the phone - clarifying the order and asking questions without being terribly rushed. Honest.

First time eating here as a 17 year resident. It's clearly popular as I had to wait almost 25 mins for my food to be ready. . Egg roll was lukewarm at best. . Brown rice was overcooked . Wonton soup had a generous amount of wontons but the birth had no flavor . Orange beef was wildly undercooked, tasted like flour with an indescribable aftertaste that isn't like anything I'd associate with Chinese food. Disappointing.
Since the new ownership and cooks, the quality of food has gone down, the ordering experience has declined and they are always looking to overcharge you…note to new owners/team - don’t mess with what was working
Ordered a veggie dumpling because our daughter is a vegetarian. They gave us pork dumplings as a substitute because they were out of the vegetable ones and never said anything. Not an acceptable practice. She could have gotten sick. We won't be returning.

Bad tasting food, hot & sour soup was very liquidy and was lacking taste, basically tasted nothing as it should. I also ordered hunan beef, meat was tasteless and overall food was not delicious to say the least. Also, this is the first place that I’ve ever been to told me when calling that they don’t deliver.. every Chinese food I ever ate at did. My advice, if you want good Chinese food, this is definitely NOT the spot.
First & Last time I order from them. I ordered take out and waited for food while there it was lukewarm and ready in 10mins! This tells me the food is NOT freshly prepared but already made and reheated! The rice was extremely too dark and the chicken was not fresh!! I do not understand how this place has a 4 star rating. If you want to have authentic fresh food go to Bergen County in NJ well worth it!! I just relocated from NJ to Port Washington July 2021 & have not found a good Chinese restaurant! This is the 2nd Chinese restaurant we have tried we give up! Very disappointed 😩
Don't order from this place Terrible I ordered a lunch special Chicken Teriyaki Pieces of chicken, breaded dipped in Teriyaki sauce however there was 60-70% fat and hardly any chicken this is probably why they breaded the chicken so people don't notice all the fat. I wouldn't even feed a dog this food. Giving me scrap pieces of chicken with tons of fat the rice was ok but I was disgusted I threw it out Never again will I order from this place
New owners have turned this place for the worst.
As many takeout Chinese establishments have been closed during the pandemic. During a trip to port Washington it was nice to see GUM HOW was open..maybe they should have stayed closed. THE BBQ spare ribs were the worst I've ever tasted. They also refused to sell me bottles of soda. I never really understood why. Her English was poor. Wow. That was disappointing
Incredible how the new management or ownership has taken this place to the lowest it's ever been. Poor quality and the portions have shrunk (perhaps a good thing) not worth the price. It's amazing they're still open?
Gum How Port Washington new owners and I knew it before I found out just by looking at and tasting the food. Terrible. Oily sauce. Dumplings terrible and different dumpling sauce. Greasy egg rolls. I am devastated.
New owners ruined food slime gross chicken n broccoli pirk rice had all rice no ingredients soup usta gave nice pieces pork and bok choy now 1 small piece of each they wont make it make me sick after eating too
Tried to give them another chance. Last time I ordered (2 weeks ago) all the shrimp in house special lo-mein, special wonton soup and chicken shrimp combo were all mushy, mealy and tiny. When I called they said sorry will make it up to you next time. Ordered again yesterday and mentioned the above issue and was told oh yes, I remember, will take care of you and was told not to order any shrimp dishes. In order was steamed vegetable dumplings and the special wonton soup - no shrimp and several other dishes - order was repeated back to me correctly. As they were packing order I again confirmed vegetable dumplings and they said yes. Total was $82 and nothing was added to order. When I mentioned the instance above they first acted like they didn’t know about it and than took $2 off the total. To make it worse when arrived home and started to eat - no noodles for the soup, special wontons had a brown sauce on it - not suppose to for the soup and the dumplings were pork. Poor attitudes, poor service and poor food. Three strikes and they are out of our ordering rotation. So BEWARE!
They have not delivery, they only accept cash also they charge for hot sauce . Bad experience i don't recommend
