This was our first time eating at The Rice Hat and we will definitely return. We've been trying to find a good Chinese restaurant, and this is the first one that we have truly enjoyed. The portions were huge. Loved the egg rolls.
First time here, food was fresh, fast, huge portions! Very tasty 🤤. Great sweet tea. Clean restroom! My server was awesome! Friendly and always ready for refills! Thanks!
We loved everything about this place! The food, service and atmosphere 🤌 This is the same owner from pho life so we knew the food was gonna be amazing. We got: ramen, general tso chicken, orange chicken, pork belly, and udon. Not pictured is the garlic edamame which was delish. If yall haven't been, please go try it ASAP!!
Our server was excellent, and the food was exceptional. Fried wonton were super crisp, huge, and filled with stuffing. Hawaii fried rice was awesome and my wife's Salt and pepper prawns were great, she said it had good spice with the jalapeños. Location was very fresh and clean inside.
Nice find in this small town, the chicken fried rice in the pineapple was very filling and got a good amount of portions, the crab rangoons is amazing too
I just had dinner with my Grandmother and everything was spectacular!!!! Our appetizers and entrees came out super quick. All of the ingredients were so fresh and delicious. What we ordered: Crab rangoons, egg drop soup, garlic edamame, shaken beef, jalapeno shrimp, yaki-udon. I also really appreciated the large cups of water provided! My only wish is that I could have ordered an alcoholic drink or glass of wine!!! Bring a sweater it’s bit chilly inside. We can’t wait to go there again!!
Amazing place. Very calm and great place for dinner. The food and service is absolutely fantastic. There's are many choices and I practically could not pick because everything sounded so good. If you cannot figure out what to pick, choose the Yakinl Udon with chicken. I had the combo one but the chicken in it was delicious. You will not be disappointed.
My whole family loves to come out to eat here every chance we get! Even my brother who is considered a picky eater LOVES many of the menu choices. The prices can be considered high, but when you factor in how large the portions are for a number of the dishes offered you can clearly see that it is worth the extra cost. We have taken home our leftovers plenty of times, and they were just as delicious the next day; fine and dandy heated in the microwave or tasty heated up on the stove! The atmosphere is clean, open, and family friendly. Staff is wonderful, and always incredibly helpful. In comparison to so many restaurants in the Portland area, this is one of the nicest; it brings a homey feeling with the food and the people, and it also provides a level of cleanliness that gives you peace of mind while eating out. Highly recommend you give them a try and enjoy this little gem in the Coastal Bend!
They just opened and we had a great to go experience. Just 20 minutes from phone call to walking out of the restaurant with food. Neat menu with options for everyone. We enjoyed the fresh/fragrant shaken beef, great texture orange chicken and happy family with plenty of vegetables. The edamame was a little flavorless, would recommend trying the garlic upgrade. In my brief time in the restaurant, the place seemed clean and plenty of tables.

This was our 2nd visit in less than a month. 1st visit we had the Crab Rangoon (clearly made fresh), Lettuce Wraps, Lemongrass Chicken and Singapore Noodles, all were flavorful large portions. Today, we had Crab Rangoon, Spring Rolls, Sesame Chicken, General Tso Chicken (pictured), Ramen (pictured), Beef Curry Rice (pictured). Again, all were delicious and generous portions. Service was good considering place was pretty full and only one waiter attending tables. Last visit, we were the only ones there so not fair to compare. Dining area was clean and provides a semi-quiet atmosphere. Drinks are served in small pitcher which caught us off guard our 1st visit but are a cute idea. Note, your straw fits right in the spout of the mini pitcher. Although, I wish some dishes were spicier, they have chili oil and Saracha available. Really hoping community supports this place! We will definitely be back!

On my way back to Dallas just stopped by grabbed some Asian cuisine for lunch and it turned out to be a great treat. Pho is delicious and generously portioned, I also have Hunan Delight, honestly I have never heard of this dish name before in China so I gave it a try and I should say they have truly grasped the essence of Chinese cooking lol. If I get the chance I will come again for sure.☺️

First time here and it was AMAZING! The pho was the best I have had in a long time! The crab ragoons are the best ones around here for sure too! I’m mad that I have lived here for about 3 years now and still have never tried it till now! Will fore sure be coming back and trying other things on the menu but for sure getting those crab ragoons again!
Best pho I’ve had in a long time. Second time coming and very pleased. Waitress is a great time and very accommodating. They also co own a chai tea store next door for other options since I don’t drink soda. HUGE portions and can feed more than one person! Amazing!
We are so blessed to have this local business in our community. The Rice Hat has delicious and high quality food with portions sizes that last for days! The Pho and lettuce wraps are my go-to!
My family and I LOVE this place. We live in Sinton so it’s a bit of a drive, but it’s always worth it. My husband and I are regulars for either date night or when our kids just don’t feel like joining us. We eat here maybe every other week but for sure at least once a month for the past year. Kevin is our go-to server. We’ve established a great relationship with him so we call ahead to see if he’s there and if he’s not, we just wait for another day to go. Everything we have tried here tastes amazing. Service and food is always great and I never know what I want to try next. If there are any bad reviews, I’m sure it’s because that person was either in a bad mood or maybe just trying to get free food. I always forget to take pictures of my food, but I normally get the Bun Bowl with steak. I’ve also tried the General Tso Chicken and tonight I had the Glass Noodle Soup. ALL of them are so good!!
I loved my dinner (Happy Family). Our server, I think her name was Victoria ( kind lady with 2 tone blonde hair). She was so nice!

I love going to the rice hat. Has my favorite Pho by far and every meal they have to offer feels unique in flavor. It's family owned the prices are fair for how much food you get, definitely recommend and will continue to visit.
Probably the best wonton soup I’ve ever had but it got cold super fast because it’s served in a metal bowl, soup bowls should be a good insulator (like porcelain) not a metal conductor that sucks all the heat out. General tso chicken looked great presentation wise and the sauce was good but it was over cooked / tough and hard to chew (maybe not the best cuts of chicken too). Egg roll was delicious, fried rice was not bad. I would come back because overall I think this place is really good and has potential but could be a little better with some minor adjustments.
Nice new spot for us to get our Vietnamese fix. Great food portions......great value for your money. They can use a little music or ambient sound as it's very quiet. I don't like hearing everything that goes on around me. We will be back, for sure.
Food was good. We got the beef pho and grilled chicken bun bowl. IMHO.. The beef pho was savory but needed more noodles. The bun bowl was ok. I personally don’t like cold dry noodles, and that’s what I got with this dish. We’ll probably try this place out again but we’ll stick to the pho and add extra noodles next time. We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn’t too packed, so that was a plus.
There was a little wait since they were busy. But they were fast. The AC was broken or not capable to manage and it was unbearably HOT! I’m sorry but that was unacceptable. The food was hot and savory. Good flavor mostly but portions of my beef asparagus plate was overly salty. The Vietnamese egg roll wasn’t good. Lacked flavor and meat. Stick with Chinese ones. The crabragoons were common like they are everywhere. Overall it was another decent to good Asian food place. Nothing overly spectacular but the bill. And not in a good way. Cost average was closer to $30 per person. Not really worth that expense, but guess that what to expect with anything. All prices going up. I’ll likely give them another try after the work things out.

Upside: Food good, staff friendly, place seemed clean. Large parking area, prices moderate. Large portions so can probably split a meal. Downside: From order to food on table was lengthy, about 25 minutes. Comments: Review based on 3 visits. Would eat here again and would recommend.
We really enjoyed our meal. Dumplings were good along with The Hat fried rice was very good. It was enough to share between the two of us. Great service , sorry , forgot waitress name. Would definitely return next time we visit.

Fire Marshall would have a hay day here. I ordered food with no Jalepenos and it was full of Jalepenos. They said they re made it but nope they put it on a different plate and re served it. Quality of other food was subpar. Husband had happy family and it had very little meat and said it was gross. There is cobwebs and nasty on ceiling. The workers were more worried about sitting down and having snacks. The rice didn’t even taste right.
