Poways Irish Pub is a small place but it has pool tables and great drinks. The bartender was fun and can handle situations that occur with dignity towards anyone. When my party arrived there was a individual that was impaired and the bartender and waitress notified his brother and within time he was removed. They showed professionalism and didn't make a fool out of him. We had a wonderful time and shot a few games of pool.

I've been going to this place for years. It's the localist bar in Poway, the food is surprisingly good, and the bartenders are all cool as all hell. I just went in for my 40th bday and Chris took excellent care of my buddy and me.

This place is a good place, you can get along with the owner and the bartenders really easy. Best during the weekends but the tranquility of slow nights has away been my best interest. You got to pick and choose and stay out of some of the local drama which can be hard to do, but if you're more about you and keep a happy perspective you'll be good.

We had a last minute going away party of 20 people and when all other places said they couldn't accommodate us this place stepped up and went above and beyond! The outdoor patio was perfect for all of us and more. Shout out to Justin and the bartender who went above and beyond to serve us all! Very welcoming, hardworking and understanding! Hubby and I decided to check this place out for the first time. Arrived early (around 7pm) ordered some drinks and played pool. Very friendly atmosphere. Started getting busy just before 9pm. We enjoyed the live music and the hot wings were delicious. Staff was on top of things. We really enjoyed the evening.

More local than most of the locals in Poway. This little getaway has been tilting the bottles and serving the community for decades. Great food, great drinks, great prices, and the best people. The best things come in little packages and this little package packs a legend of a punch. Definitely catch the Serious guys when they play here. Thanks for making and keeping so many memories.

Came in during a break in a memorial service, and it seemed like a locals only place. Turned out the locals and bartender were equally friendly and a fun time was had by all............til we went back of course. Make sure not to joke around when you put your order in though or you might just get a shot glass of Chardonnay! Haven't seen any bands here yet, but I plan to. Cheap drinks, fun crowd????? I can't leave a more positive review! After traveling the world eating everywhere from pubs to fine dining, I've never been more impressed with a combination of variety of the food, the absolute DELICIOUS flavor, exceptional selection of beers and spirits, and the variety of tables, bar space, booths, pool table, and outdoor seating. The live bands and DJs are as good as other places where you pay A LOT of money, yet there's NO cover charge here. And the PHENOMENAL 5-star service provided by Dan, Justin and Katie will make you feel like VIP royalty. (This was the case on my very first visit, long before I became a regular!) In fact, when people visit from out of town, this is where I bring them, and they are just as impressed as I am! The parking is free, and there is always plenty of it.

Had the chance to perform Comedy there.....the establishment is great....the owners are great....I'll be back again soon!!

The tarter sauce tasted homemade and the fries were for sure hand cut. I crave this now all the time, just wish there was seating that allowed kids so we didn't need a babysitter when the cravings hit ;) Drinks were good too!!! The bartender got the rye oldfashioned just to my husbands liking and the dirty martini's were on point. We were there on a night with live music and that was a treat as well. Overall we had a great time, great meal, and wonderful drinks that didn't break the bank... we will be back.

The people are great, lots of locals but because of the bands on the weekends many people show up from all other places. I've met people from other countries hanging out there. The staff is great. I have some friends that hang out there. I enjoy my time with them. I've taken my brother and my sister-in-law there. The food is excellent.

Somewhat unassuming dive ish bar on the main drag of Poway. It's the kind of place you go to if you have no bar to call home. Not full of a bunch of strangers. Locals, but not regulars. The patio is curbside where most bars due to noise and disturbance the patio is in the back. You might be confused about the front door situation. There are 2 very close together. The first few times I came here was either day time or just off work up the road, but you'd always be able to find a few people inside it's never really dead. The last few times I've come on a Sunday and Monday night and it was packed. I usually come underdressed in gym clothes or lately overdressed it's a t-shirt and jeans kinda of place. A normal amount of taps with expected variety, pricing is about what a dive ish bar would cost. They ID here, so don't be surprised. A funky looking orange felted pool table they have 2, but only 1 looks out of place. The classic low hanging lighting and bathrooms at the near end. Plenty of tables and some outdoor seating they have that washer toss in the back that can get annoying from the CLANG, but it's usually drowned out a bit by the ambient bar noise. Going against my rule I've actually eaten here. Just appetizers, but be warned the Irish Nacho's have refried beans which as we all know is a staple to the traditional Irish diet. Potato planks seem more fried than baked. I feel pretty comfortable here, but it takes a lot for me to feel uncomfortable at a bar. I kind of wish they had a fire pit though. The bartenders are pretty good and since most people drink beer here it makes all of our lives a little easier. They could use a little weed wacking in the back as the shrubbery is invading the patio space. It's well lit and especially during sunset you get this great ambient glow from the hills.

A nice little pub. Bartender was nice and speedy with our drinks. Beer was ice cold out of the tap which is a must if you enjoy your beer drinking. Up to date juke box. Two pool tables. I'm not sure which nights but they often have live music at night.

Good selection of beers, the fries are incredible but it seems as if each person ordering must order food instead of ordering food for the table. That could put some families in a bind but maybe it's not a family place. Seems a lot more restrictive than other places.

This place is a good Poway dive bar. There are 2 pool table in good shape. The drinks are served well. It usually slower during the week, but, there is always a good crowd on the weekends. There's a band on Saturdays. St. Patrick's day is always packed. If you want a challenge as for there challenge wings. They will miss you up good.

The only thing Irish about this bar was the name. The bat selection was fine but the music was way too loud for that small a room.

Drinks are cheaper. Haven't tried to food. The music is a little loud so don't come here expecting to have convo. It says Irish pub but there's not much to say Irish other than a sign in the middle of the place.

If you like very dark places this is it. They have no lighting! The food was OK but otherwise won't go back.

Food was not good. Fries had so much pepper on them they were inedible. House made corned beef was also oversalted to the point it made me cringe (and I like salt). Bartender was nice, and patio was nice, although filled with smokers. Just meh

Returned after Covid hiatus. Great cover band Saturday night. Bartenders less than friendly or helpful. Service is like they're doing a huge favor pouring and handing tap beers to us. No smiles, thanks, and difficult just to get there attention. Bathrooms absolutely disgusting. Place not clean at all. Will not return. Too bad, could be a great local spot if managed correctly.

went after work with the crew to grab some food and drinks.. I'm not a local, so I was reluctant and for good reason. Atmosphere was plain, bored and tiring... service was poor and rushed. Food was a 3 out of 5 tbh. Biggest downfall was me being charged 97 bucks randomly after paying for my meal, I was charged a separate charge, meaning my card was swiped 2x and they refused to refund me. I had to go through my bank to file a claim and prove all types of stuff to show I bought 1food item tand 2 drinks, 36 bucks... not 97$... I'm still waiting for a refund. Won't go back here.

Bartender was very short with us almost like I was a bother. The food wasn't ok the Irish nachos were almost good but the fries were not cooked all the way. The deep fried jalapeño was super good and the onion rings are amazing. They do have good beer on tap and the atmosphere was nice but the bartender literally was a buzz kill. The limes for the drinks were old or something their was not a drop of juice in them when u squeezed them. I will come back and give this place another shot but staff needs to be friendly be happy people are here spending money if you don't like your job get a different one

Such a shittyyyyyy place. I had a California State ID with me, had lost my Driver's license. So for age proof I showed my CALIFORNIA STATE ID, to which they said they CANNOT accept it as a proof of age. It's a legal ID, accepted at Airports and everywhere else all over USA. But they be refused to accept it. So all my friends and I were turned away.

I ordered the fish n chips because they were out of corned beef. It was honestly the worst I've ever had. Took 30 minutes and was cooked to death. It was inedible. My friend didn't want me to toss it and took it home..he said he took 1 bite and threw it away.
