The Hop Stop

We ordered Brats and Hop Stop Burger they were great choices. I don’t recommend ordering Tater Tots, it doesn’t worth the calories. Beers are a must here. The staff is polite and helpful, we got seated right away on Sunday at noon. I would recommend making a reservation if you are a big group. The vibe was cool. it has a playgroup and a nice outdoor sitting area which everyone in the family can enjoy. the chairs, shades, and of course beers make it comfortable to spend time outside with your people for a long time.

Open air bar with plenty of outdoor seating. Food menu is varied and intriguing. House burger was excellent and fries crispy!

Excellent service and very good food. Enjoyed a beer and messy burger here with kids. They don't have toys for the kids but the area is open enough for them to explore but closed so little ones don't run off.

Outstanding neighborhood beer garden, we are local and it’s the best place to meet friends and family after a hard days work or play. It’s dog and kid friendly with super nice staff 👍🏼 Today we are toasting Ron G the nice fellow there with his dad who bought us a round for letting them get in line ahead of us so they could get on their way…🍺😎thanks buddy and we will gladly pay ya back later!

Local restaurant with great food & beer on tap. We ordered the cheeseburger, roasted chicken sandwich, grilled cheese sandwich, dirty tots, and kid's macaroni & cheese. All sandwiches came with a side of salad, tater tots, french fries or sweet potato fries. While all the food was good, our favorite was the dirty tots, which came nicely crunchy on a bed of their special creamy white Hop Stop sauce & topped with cheese, bacon & green onions. Definitely a good dish to share.

We ordered the west coast burger with tots and a single burger with no cheese in a lettuce wrap and tots. The burgers were good, however, the lettuce wrap still had the cheese even though we specifically asked for no cheese. Other than that the food was good and the outside seating area was very comfortable.

The Hot Stop is a solid spot! It's a great for families, relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, and a welcoming environment. Perfect for a casual meal with the crew. Definitely recommend! Checking it out!

The Hop Stop is such a fun spot! We go here all the time and bonus points for being dog friendly!!! We go for the cider but they have tons of fun beer and other options. Our fav food here is the Cali black bean burger with a side of sweet potato fries but our guilty pleasure is their tater tots. They’re so good! Don’t forget to order with a side of Hop Stop sauce!! We’ve gone to trivia on Mondays a few times which was a blast. Really great family-friendly, trendy local joint.

We came here for my birthday and really enjoyed it! Great atmosphere with the string lights out back and the baseball game on the screens, really friendly staff and service, great selection of beers and ciders, and delicious food. We tried two Turquoise ciders, Blueberry and Pomegranate, both great. For food we had burgers with fries, sweet potato fries, and the Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese wasn’t as cheesy as I would have hoped for, but still good nonetheless. Everything else was outstanding. Definitely a great local spot for Old Town Poway, and fills in a gap since there’s really no place around like it. Looking forward to coming back!! Thanks Hop Stop!

A very nice neighborhood bar & restaurant in Poway. I really love the family and friends atmosphere here. They have a big outdoor space, it is perfect for small parties and kids hangout. Their beers are curated very well, my favorite is still kombucha tho. Their foods are decent. I love their crispy sweet potato fries. And the carrot hummus is delicious too.

Just an outstanding gem of a low-key, comfortable, friendly, clean place to enjoy a beer, time with your family, live music (outside), an actual bar you could stand up next to (inside), in a dog friendly, comfortable setting! The bartenders are great, the kitchen know what the heck they're doing, the menu is extensive and I've attached it here. The staff are friendly and attentive, the bathrooms are kept clean, the tables are fantastic and they've got different seating areas for different types of enjoyment. These folks know what they're doing and they have created a fantastic place to retreat for an afternoon or evening.

I cannot believe I have overlooked this place for the last 5 years! The Hop Stop is nestled in the heart of Old Poway Village and just celebrated their milestone 5 year anniversary. I took the opportunity to visit recently and I’m so glad I did. I just love the indoor/outdoor vibe that is welcoming to dogs, groups, and private parties . I believe they feature live music on Saturdays. Such nice spacious environs to relax and enjoy their impressive selection of craft beers on tap. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner and she was so nice and hospitable. The menu here has a fantastic selection of pub grub culinary delights. I look forward to trying many of them. For my inaugural visit I ordered the “Smashburger” and it was outstanding! Made with a smashed beef patty with jalapeno & red onion, topped with pickles, bacon, garlic aioli and American cheese on a soft, tasty brioche bun. While the jalapeno and red onion were difficult to discern, that garlic aioli really sang through. The bacon was abundant throughout and had a nice well-done crispness and satisfying chew. I chose Tots for the side, and they were excellent! Hot, crispy, and fried well done, just how I like them. I will be back soon to try more things on the menu as well as test drive some new beers I’ve never had before. Highly recommended.

Can't beat Monday night trivia at Hop Stop for delicious food (with happy hour specials) served up by a terrific staff! Bonus points for Liz with Live Prize Trivia who keeps us entertained with her excellent hosting skills and killer song clues!

I looked around for a place I could possibly go to, but everywhere I looked, they wanted in excess of $700, and that wasn't possible for me. Then I found the Hop Stop. Rebecca (the owner) reached back out to me and offered a space to be held for us at just the cost of the food. I was already sold, and then I took a look at the menu. If you're looking for a place to hold a birthday, a dinner, a... literally anything, you've found it. The owner here is fabulous, and the rest of the staff are just as amazing. The food is incredible (I highly recommend the Smashburger; it's delicious). Their outside set-up is perfect. The drinks are great. The prices are perfect. There's ample parking. Nice bathrooms. Honestly, what more could you want? I truly couldn't recommend this place more, and I'm trying to figure out an excuse to go back and do this again. There's a reason they have so many five star reviews.

Instead you scan the menu, then go and turn your order in at the bar, and refill your own drinks. They bring you your food, but that's where the service ends. So I would compare it to you like a Rubio's or a basic fast food place in that respect. The major difference is the food is way tastier and much higher quality at hop stop. We will be back.

Instead you scan the menu, then go and turn your order in at the bar, and refill your own drinks. They bring you your food, but that's where the service ends. So I would compare it to you like a Rubio's or a basic fast food place in that respect. The major difference is the food is way tastier and much higher quality at hop stop. We will be back.

Came here friday night after Thanksgiving. Not busy. Very friendly bartender but after we sat there was zero service and had to get up and ask staff for spoon, xtra plate, bill etc. The guacamole was brown, I should have returned it. I ordered the tofu curry as I have high cholesterol. It was a giant bowl of rice, no veges and bland sauce. My husband's steak sandwich had gristle. We paid for another couple with beer so it was an expensive mistake.
