Absolutely fantastic. Best pub you could go to. Sunday dinner is phenomenal. They deal with allergies so well for the children. Best pub I've ever visited.

What a great find this place is. We arrived unannounced from the leisure lakes facility for some lunch on an out of season wet Monday to find Legh Arms vibrant and busy. We were shown to our table and offered an amazing and diverse menu by the caring and respectful staff. The table was comfortable and warm on for our winter visit. When the food arrived it was fabulous. Choices went beyond typical pub grub and was genuine restaurant quality. We enjoyed our time so much that when finished we retired to the lounge and enjoyed a few more ‘pub style’ drinks which included cask ales , wine and spirits

Excellent service and the food is second-to-none. The Cow is a personal favourite but the menu is full of great options.

Really is a great place to eat! Good selection of cask ales. The Legh Arms Best Bitter is well worth a sample! Service is excellent, the food is beautiful! Try the ribs for starters, they really are a bit special! Portions sizes are just right and the rhubarb crumble on the dessert special menu was to die for!! Best to book if you can because it gets very busy, deservedly so!!

The Legh Arms is a traditional village pub known for its welcoming atmosphere and locally sourced food. Since October 2014, it has been operated by the same team that runs the Hop Vine in Burscough, and it serves cask ales from the Hopvine Brewery, including regular offerings like Timothy Taylor’s Landlord and one changing beer. The restaurant serves excellent food, and the staff are welcoming and efficient. It is popular, so it's best to reserve a table in advance. The Legh Arms is named after the Legh family, historical owners of the nearby Bank Hall estate. The pub is dog-friendly in the bar area.

Just had a wonderful meal here whilst staying nearby. What a lovely atmosphere with a candlelit table. All staff that served us were so friendly and welcoming. My partner had the steak and ale pie and said it was amazing, the portion was very generous. I had the steak and onion sandwich which was delicious. I would recommend booking as it was a Tuesday night and was pretty much full. With 2 decent sized meals, 2 gins and 2 pints, it came to just over £50 which I think was reasonably priced and definitely worth every penny. 100% recommend and so glad we stumbled upon it. Will definitely return and drive the 40 mins to get there again.

Had a lovely meal last week. The place inside was lovely. The staff were welcoming & polite. We had drinks sat in a quiet part of the pub until we could be seated in the dining area. So nice to have a chat & drink🍹🍺 in a lovely country pub in front of an open fire. When were ready to eat the table seating was very nice real flowers in the vase & a antique candletick holder with candle lit. Have to say was very romantic.💘🌹 The food was amazing (Fish & Chips) complements to the chef.😋 The waitresses were lovely & could not of been more helpful & professional. Cannot wait for our next visit.🍷🍷🍽🍽🥂😉👍

My wife and I had the Sunday Lunch for the 1st time with my family, as it was my Birthday, we were delighted. I had the Roast Chicken and my wife had the Braised Blade of Beef. Both dishes were delicious. The service was excellent. We usually go occasionally during the week and I treat myself to the fish and chips and my wife has the scampi which we always enjoy. Always best to book ahead. Great Children's menu.

Lovely food lovely staff. Very helpful, shown to our table straight away. Took a while for the food to arrive after our starter, but the place was really busy for a Monday! Apparently like this most of the time so please book. We both had steak sandwich which was perfectly cooked and not chewy at all. I has the blue cheese sauce just enough. (Picture doesnt look great but) The fish n chips were very nice too. We had pate and scotch egg for starter they were amazing. Definitely visit again if I'm in the area.

We were well looked after by all the staff, and the food was spot on. I had fish and chips which was very good. The others in my party had lamb, beef & fish that just fell off the bones and were so tender they loved them. We will definitely be back, and one of the party has been back already. Well done 👏👏👏

Called in by chance. Glad we did, service and lunchtime food excellent. Quiet to start with but soon filled up. Proves it's a popular place to go and this was on a Tuesday.

Visited yesterday. We enjoyed two lovely meals. I had the sea bass with prawns potatoes and veg. The conservatory restaurant has a good feel to it all tables were full. The staff are very attentive and friendly. I would definitely return again. I recommend booking well in advance. Julie deserves a lot of credit. Thank you

Enjoyed a nice family meal. Very good service. Serving staff and the supervising lady work very hard. I enjoyed “The Hen” which is a Cajun chicken burger. The Salt Jute session IPA is very good and tasty. A little noisy in the main eating space.

Apparently it's pronounced Leg arms. That said a great experience. Good food, friendly personable staff. Good beer too. Put it on your list.

We enjoy going here and thought it a great place to celebrate two bits of family news. It was very busy tonight -(Friday)- and we had to wait for longer than we thought reasonable. Didn’t have my favourite starter & chips were very pale. We spoke to the waitress & she informed the manager who was prompt in coming to see us. Although she maintained that it was a reasonable wait for food on a Friday night, she accepted that it was a long time before we had our order taken. The issue was resolved quickly & fairly. She was very apologetic. Great customer service given, just a shame about the food & tonight’s waiting time. It hasn’t put us off going again.

Christmas meal with family, two of our party served, the remaining three of us served some considerable time later to the extent that the first couple were almost finished by the time rest of us were served. Apparently the kitchen got the order wrong even though we booked and ordered in advance with deposit paid from the Christmas menu. We have dined at this venue several times and always been very pleased, on this Christmas celebratory occasion very very disappointed.

The wife and I visited yesterday. Lovely place with nice staff. Only downside was the Sunday roast was too salty, too much gravy. Would have been better if gravy was separate and you could put your own on, instead of the food being drowned in it. Also they want a review on Open Table which wants all your information just to make a review. Read the reviews for Open Table to see what a scam outfit they are

S

Had the Retro Prawn Cocktail. Absolutely poor, tastless & over priced. They are having a lend.

f

Poor and very slow service. Arrived at 6:30pm on a Thursday night for a family birthday meal. Booked at this time as we had a 2 year old and didn’t want to be out too late. After ordering food took an hour to arrive which was around 7:50pm. Food was ok but no better than an Beefeater or similar. Even when asked for the bill when it had quietened down a lot they didn’t do this and we ended up going to the bar to pay. Spoilt the birthday meal and evening for us. We won’t be coming back.
