Sat quickly and in the heated patio area on a chilly night and still felt very comfortable. Quite romantic too with candlelight and fire for warmth. Waitress was very cautious with our gluten+dairy allergy! Started off with a couple oysters that came with a fun vinaigrette. Then allergy-friendly herb & citrus RI caught fish- very moist and remarkably fresh. I got the mushroom cavatelli and also thought it was very delicious (not included as allergy friendly). Tried some fantastic wines; Gabay was simple and tarte, Merlot was refreshing and also tarte, and Rioja was subtly sweet but oak flavored. Would come here again for a date night or celebratory dinner!

If you are gluten free (and if you’re not!) you must come here. They use all local ingredients. The interior is minimalistic, but the dining section with the open kitchen is the best. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The gluten free biscuit is out of this world. You would NEVER know it was gluten free. We each tried the biscuit, one with bacon and one with sausage, and the sausage was the best. My only critique was they didn’t put enough bacon on the sandwich; the ratio was definitely off. The portion of a cup of soup is generous here!

Nick's on Broadway was nothing short of amazing. If you’ve read my reviews before, you know I’m extremely critical of establishments—and this one truly delivered. Service: Outstanding Food: Excellent Atmosphere & Staff: Top-tier from start to finish This place is an absolute must-go. Speaking as someone with over 20 years in the hospitality business, my son and I genuinely enjoyed Saturday brunch. Visiting from New York, this was our first time in Rhode Island, and Nick’s made it memorable. Thank you again—we’ll definitely be back. Shanna the server was amazing!! (I might be spelling it wrong)

Incredible food, kind and diligent staff, and a relaxed yet upscale atmosphere. This is the kind of place you take friends to show the best local places Providence has to offer. Fantastic oysters too!

We came to Providence for an anniversary trip and saw many people recommend Nick’s for dinner or brunch. We booked a reservation for the Chef Tasting Menu and we were not disappointed. They were very responsive and helpful via email. They were able to accommodate a pescatarian diet and the food was INCREDIBLE. Our dinner experience here was truly a highlight of our trip. The staff were friendly, attentive, and really made our dinner special. I’ve heard that you can leave some tasting dinners still hungry, but not here! By the end, we were stuffed, but every dish was so delicious we didn’t want to leave a bite on the plate. My favorite was the main, a mackerel dish that I will probably be craving forever. They even gave us a printed menu of what we had before we left to commemorate our dinner. Thank you to the whole staff so much for making this such a special meal!

Parking tricky but it’s so so so worth the wait!! Oh my god beauti seating and interior, too cold for the outside patio, but the food arrive 35 minutes in to our arrival time and let me just tell you I did not disappoint the spices. Everything in the black beans was absolutely amazing. My grandmother truly enjoyed herself herself. I will definitely be back. Food is so worth the WAIT It is so good. You can really taste authenticity and well that goes into it. This is probably the best places to ever get a LUNCH The mimosas are amazing along with their verbal teas. They also have a Valentine special today for $ 25 person each. Definitely will be packed and amazing experience and such amazing waiters.

I love this brunch spot. I was able to get seated right where you can see the meals being prepared. It gives me an idea of what I might want to order by putting a visual nearby before I make my final decision. The service from employees is great, and the environment has a great setting as well. The mimosas are quenching and so is the espresso martini. The food I ordered was satisfying, fulfilled my appetite and definitely a filling meal.

We sat at the chefs counter and it was so amazing to watch and hear them all working together to prepare the food, which was amazing! Make a reservation but be prepared to still wait for the food, which is well worth it!

We had a great dinner here. Our server (Sue I think) was very welcoming and courteous.

Nick's has amazing food and great service. The bar seats looking into Derek's kitchen add a special appreciation of the attention given each dish! I live an hour and a half away, but during covid I drive to Providence for take out. I love taking charcuterie to go to continue the good eats to the next day.

Nice little place - food was ahhhhhhmazzzzzing. Staff was so friendly, handled the busy crowd easily. It was my 1st time, won't be my last!

Delightful. The food had a ton of flavor, but it wasn’t overbearing—each of the flavors came through to create a unique, delicious, and surprisingly hearty meal. The service was very attentive and kind, and the atmosphere was laid back. Even the prices were not as bad as I expected and were in line with many other places that don’t provide as enjoyable an experience.

Incredible dining experience! We had a great time with wonderful service. Highly recommend (x1000) the charge grilled beef which was probably the best steak we've ever had. The rigatoni bolognese was also delicious - so flavorful and enjoyable. You can tell each dish is put together with care down to the tiny details of herb decor. You can see the head chef and his team cooking behind your tables and it's really neat to watch - clearly a great place that cares about what they serve. We really enjoyed our time here. Best meal in RI so far. Bread and honey butter was also a nice starter, and for dessert we tried the lemon custard and homemade coffee ice cream. The espresso martini was nicely done too.

I love this place! It’s one of my fav resto in PVD.

Nick's has consistently been one of the best restaurants in Providence, especially for brunch, for at least a decade or more. I recently learned that they will close toward the end of this summer, so I had to go back for one last hoorah. My friend got a beautiful, elegant, and delicious salad with chicken added. And I indulged myself with barbeque pork on cheesy polenta, with pickled jalapenos. An amaretto sour was the ideal finishing touch to the meal, out on the patio on a mild summery Saturday. It was the utter perfection I expected. I'll miss you Nick's!

Really great brunch here. Excellent quality food and expertly prepared. Everything was super yummy! I like my brunch classic, so I loved the potatoes, bread, bacon, and eggs. Can't wait to go back to try more things.

Went here for brunch, food was amazing, place was clean, service was nice. Food came out quick, mimosas were very flavorful.

This place is great! The eggs Benny and the chicken sandwich were so good! I love sitting at the counter watching all the chefs cook. It’s very welcoming and the staff is super friendly! I will be going back

Great food! Totally worth the trip. Chef is super nice and cool. Staff as well. Ordered their burger and a chicken melt. My partner and I agree this place has the best burger we’ve had to this day. Fresh ingredients. Melts in your mouth. Drinks are the perfect ratio of liquor and juice. Affordable pricing, I felt safe eating here also. So happy to see independent businesses doing their best in these tough times. Will return.

Dined on a Thursday afternoon around 12:15 PM and sat on the back patio. I loved that the patio was enclosed but still very much felt like you were outdoors. Our table ordered a bottle of sparkling rose, it was perfect. I ordered the chicken bacon sandwich with a side of the chowder for an extra $3.00. 9/10 I would order this again for lunch. My friends ordered the bolognese, meatballs and polenta, veggies and polenta with the RI sausage. The table also ordered a side of bread. One person in our party had a gluten allergy and they were very accommodating regarding the allergy. She ate the veggies and polenta with the RI sausage.

The food and service were great. I had the lamb and eggs and probably some of the best lamb I’ve ever had. Only down side was the wait for the food to come out was about an hour. Anyone with kids knows that gets into a high danger zone. Worth it biting into that lamb.

T

This place was phenomenal! Not only was the food so creative and delicious (didn’t know I could fall in love with a sweet potato seafood bisque so much), but the head chef/owner is extremely nice and all of the staff is beyond educated and helpful!

My wife and I came in right before lunch ended and the service and food were still amazing. I wish I remembered our server name but she was the best. We’ll be back next time we’re in RI.

This is a must try in Providence, RI in my opinion! The food was phenomenal and the waiter was one of the most service minded waiters I've had in a very, very long time! Bobby was the waiters name, make sure you ask for him! Below are pictures of the RI Mushroom, Cherry Tomato and Pesto Pasta with a half dozen roasted oysters. I highly recommend whether you are local or not!

Amazing local restaurant renowned for both its brunch and dinner. Nicks is never going to disappoint, and while it is pricier than other places nearby, you can absolutely taste the difference. For drinks, they have an extensive wine list, plenty of beer options, and some creative cocktails. The food menu here features fresh, locally-sourced ingredients that make every dish shine, although the cooks working diligently in the open kitchen are the ones who really bring it to life. The service is impeccable as well. Even though the staff are always extremely busy, they are helpful and genuine in their interactions with diners. The space looks somewhat small from the front, but there is a patio area for outdoor dining. The chairs and tables are metal, though, so they can be pretty scalding hot if you get a spot that the Sun’s been shining down on. You also may need to wait a few minutes, but food like this is worth waiting for. Highly recommend if you’re in the Providence area!

1st time here. Been trying forever to get here. What a mistake....... waiting so long. The food and service are amazing. Don't bother ordering off the menu. Get the chef's tasting. 7 course if you can. Very nice atmosphere. You can actually talk and hear the other person you're with. Great place for a date night. We went on a Thursday 6pm. Very small place but got right in. Can't say enough good things about this place. Go see for yourself. I'd be amazed if you don't like it.

This savory Pulled BBQ Beef sandwich with crispy bread was done just right. Eggs Benedict was delightful. And charcuterie plate was delicious as well. The selection of wine and liquor amazed me. At least 25 bottles and 30 bourbons, scotch and whiskey at reasonable prices.

Whad up people. Came to this joint during my recent trip to the New England area. Good ol calculated choice this time round! Nick's on Broadway gives vibes of a Prohibition speakeasy offering a hefty choice of alcoholic beverages to choose from. I didn't imbibe and stuck to ordering food w/my Organic, Rhode Island LIME sweet tea. It was good! The weather was great so i decided to sit outisde. I ordered the soup/salad combo: Tomato Moz Grilled Cheese w/Summer Squash soup. Bro. Brooo. I usually get simple dishes when I visit restaurants prob because it takes me back to my childhood but in reality if you mess up a simple dish you just suck. Anyway, this was LEGIT. The tomato was al dente and fresh while the rest of the sandwich was crispy, hot and gooey. The summer squash soup was a great compliment to the sandwich (or by itself) and of course dipped into. This meal made me happy. Do yourself a favor and get some grilled 🧀. Shout out to Bobby, our waiter, who was cordial, polite, and very helpful!

I will definitely go back! All of the staff was extremely friendly, we were seated quickly, and the food was AMAZING! Fresh, flavorful, and healthy! (They also make a point to ask each customer about food allergies in case you have sensitivies!)

We've eaten here numerous times for both dinner and brunch and have enjoyed it. However, an experience that stands out was dinner with my family who were visiting from out of town. Nick's easily accommodated my sister who has celiac and the entire meal was really great. We had some of the best charcuterie in the city as a starter (my dad still talks about it). All main courses were equally good. Service was exceptional the entire evening - the waitress also recommended a wonderful red wine. Great experience all around!

Tremendous food, upscale casual vibe and great service. Top notch restaurant among if not the best in Providence. We will certainly be back.

Oh wow. Talk about amazing. The service. The food. The ambiance. 10/10. I called for reservation and they were kind enough to squeeze us in at the chefs table/counter. The chefs prepare EVERY dish with precise detail. The food was out of this world and the best oysters I've ever had. Highly recommend.

L

We came for brunch and I ordered the Veg and eggs and husband ordered egg benny. Both our dishes were delicious! Great atmosphere, with nice comfortable booths. Service was good. Only thing that needs major improvement is the coffee! It really tastes like dirty water instead of coffee. Maybe they don’t expect people to actually order coffee here. Order a different drink and you will completely enjoy your meal!

J

Everything here is made from scratch, and it really shows. The salads and soups are always fresh and flavorful. Oysters are excellent—both raw and grilled. The charcuterie board is a must-try. If you sit near the kitchen, you get to watch the team at work, and the professional energy feels like something straight out of The Bear.

P

Nick’s delivers a refined yet approachable dining experience, the commitment to local, seasonal ingredients shines through every beautifully plated dish. The open kitchen adds a dynamic energy to the cozy, modern space, while the menu—whether à la carte or tasting—offers inventive takes on contemporary American cuisine. With attentive service and a strong focus on sustainability, Nick’s is the top choice for those seeking thoughtful, flavorful fare in a relaxed, upscale setting.

Absolutely outstanding! My girlfriend and I did the tasting menu with the wine pairing and it was next-level. The lamb was unreal. The roasted oyster turned her into an oyster fan (at least here). The crudo was so fresh and balanced and cod with risotto was perfection. And dessert sealed the deal. One of those meals you’re still thinking about the next day.

Had an amazing Sunday brunch. Excellent food. Wonderful service. Highly recommend. My only negative comment is that we were seated in the back at the last indoor table next to the door to the back patio. Every time the door to the outside opened we got a blast of cold air. Not sure what they can do about that. But I would go there again without hesitation.

We go to Nicks on Broadway for special occasions and they never disappoint. The people that work there are wonderful. The food is amazing and combination of flavors is awesome. Love this place!

Who doesn’t love brunch! A cute restaurant tucked away on the streets of Rhode Island. Has indoor and outdoor dining. Scrumptious, fresh from the farm food. You can definitely taste the difference! The pancakes were incredible! Definitely a must!!! Had a nice hint of cinnamon. A great choice of menu and drink items.

My date ordered off the lunch/dinner menu side and i got breakfast at noon on a Thursday. No wait but it was pretty much full. His pesto cavatelli pasta was very good. The added chicken was like sous vide style and was excellent. The menu has been very simplified to basics; can’t even order your eggs poached. I ordered the black bean, which was presented beautifully but is just like one cup of canned black beans and canned corn with half a cherry tomato and eggs on top. It was good but I could have made the same dish at home for about $1. It was mild. Their hot sauce they have goes well with it but I probably wouldn’t order it again. It came with a toast that was excellent though. I wish it had more of that. It was the best part. $60 for this and tea. -this is my review from about 5-ish years ago below- I have been hearing about how amazing this place is from everyone for years. I finally got in with no wait time early on a Saturday morning (Every time I've tried to come, there is a line around the block and an hour wait) Was really excited and served pretty quickly. I got the eggs Benedict and I didn't like it. It was different, obviously. Mustardy. On this dry grainy bread thing. Oddly photogenic anyways in there. Would return since I like the way they make things differently and the wait staff was nice. I would just get something else next time.

Update: We have not been here in over a year and are very disappointed that they no longer have bacon. The chicken sage sausage patties were tasty, but no comparison to pork sausage nor bacon. The french toast was not as crisp as I remember, but was still very good. Original review: We visited this place on a recent trip to Providence and loved it so much that we drove an hour and a half to come back a second time. This place is very popular, so be prepared for a wait, if you come during a peak time. On our first visit, we went during Sunday brunch and waited about an hour. Our second visit was on Friday morning, so there was hardly a wait at all. The french toast and bacon were perfectly prepared. The stew special was delicious.

L

Friendly staff, great food (especially the strawberry pancakes), and they were able to accommodate us quickly even on a holiday! The only complaint I have is that there was lipstick on my coffee mug. Overall good experience other than that

P
Patricia Moore

Came for brunch and had a delightful sausage egg and cheese sandwich on a biscuit. The biscuit was fluffy and delicious. The roasted potatoes that came on the side were a surprising mix of regular potatoes and sweet potatoes. So good. Ordered the Providence Blend tea which was nice but tasted more like an herbal blend than a black tea. I believe I tasted notes of lavender and licorice. I only gave 4 stars because of how slow the service was.

A
Andrew Dabydeen

Very nice brunch spot with food that’s reasonably priced! Came here for a Sunday brunch with a reservation and sat down immediately. Our food did take 45 minutes to come out which was a bit of a bummer but it was delicious. They might have been backed up but I’d recommend stopping by. They have quite a few options!

H

Food is decent, but not mind blowing. The service is middling. It took awhile to get the food after ordering. Portion for my eggs Benedict was enough for brunch. Friend who ordered bolognese had a pretty small portion though, less than the portion of the eggs benny for almost double the price. They said it tasted great though. Parking is free on the side streets maybe a 5 minute walk from the restaurant.

T
Thomas Piper

Everyone was waiting for their food for at least 45 minutes. Otherwise, it was great. The wait staff was friendly and attentive and the quality of the food was high.

S
Susan Pawlina

If you're looking for overly pretentious, for the "foodies", average breakfast this is your place. If you enjoy waiting a unreasonable long time for a basic 2 eggs, homefries, dry english muffin, single pancake, single french toast and overly garnished bacon this is the perfect place for you. I am sure that the coffee is good but it's served warm not hot out of a silver coffee craft. This is the perfect place for our waitress to work as her personality was as flat and personable as the sliced radishes on the bacon. The hostess on the other hand was very friendly and the eggs where perfectly poached those are the 2 highlights of our breakfast experience. Picture of food are better than the actual taste of the food.

B
Brian Fogarty

Service was amazing. Waited 2 hours for our food. Portions are froofy so if you're an eater this isn't for you. Steak was undone.... Ordered med rate arrived very rare but after 2 hours we ate it. Taste was not bad but prices for stylish portions with the wait just wasn't for me

V
Viridian Virgo

Food was amazing. Staff very friendly. Server amazingly awesome. We dined out due to the dining in option was full to maximum capacity. They had propane heaters out which was great until the wind blew them out and it reeked of horrid gas!! So gross. Definitely took away from our dining experience. Took what it felt like forever to have someone take care of it. When we mentioned it to an employee she just turned it off. Instead of turning it back on. We then had to ask someone else to turn it back on. Was way to cold outside today to sit out there without some kind of heat. That’s really why my rating was a 1 star. Otherwise the food and everything else was definitely a solid 5 stars.
