Tienen varias opciones de platillos estilo PV. Al final nos ofrecieron probar la raicilla. Un lugar muy recomendado! Excelente las tostadas de ceviche y la ensalada de mariscos!

Súper buen descubrimiento este lugar, tienen un menú no tan amplio pero bastante rico. Volveremos a ir pronto ya que en esta ocasión ya no había algunas cosas que queremos probar. Buen servicio y precios medios.

Of all the places I ate in Puerto Vallarta, this was my favorite with all factors considered. The food was presented as elevated/thoughtful; the location along the river was wonderful; yet the the atmosphere and service was very down to earth. No one I interacted with spoke English, and the place did not seem a magnet for tourists. I wanted to try the pulpo (octopus) when visiting a few other places, but am glad I got it here. I could not imagine anything better. Highly recommend.

Finally got myself over to Balam Balam to try the whole Red Snapper after years of wanting to go. Showed up at 5:30 and was told that they were out. Dejectedly I started to leave but they told me they would grill one up just for me, or fry me one, my choice. I chose a fried one and oh my this thing was amazing! Absolutely incredible and the serving was huge. After finishing I realized I still had the whole other side to go! The skin was crisp and seasoned perfectly. My wife had the shrimp tacos and she loved them. But, the show stopper was the fish and everyone should take at least one night to come try it here. Great setting as well, very quaint and quiet set back on the river and make for a very relaxed dinner. It was a perfect dinner and I’ll be back sooner than later.

Went here on a Monday around 2 pm and it was not busy so we ate the best food and had the best service we could have hoped for. The outdoor restaurant is situated on the river providing the relaxing sounds of running water that flows out of the Sierra Madre mountains. Beautiful birds and huge shade trees made for a tranquil relaxing oasis within a bustling local neighbourhood. We enjoyed the octopus and the fired grill snapper. The margaritas and grandfather‘s tequila were the best we’ve ever had.

A must-visit if you are in the Puerto Vallarta region! Located in a very colourful and vibrant neighbourhood. The staff is extremely friendly. They gave us a beer on the house because our tortillas were slightly delayed! The food is very nice too, particularly the fish tacos and ceviches. I would give this restaurant more stars if I could.

The restaurant is located behind the food market, on the river bank. The format is open-air, in nature. The noise of the river, birds singing accompanies your lunch. The employee even drew our attention to the iguana, which settled in the leaves of a nearby tree. Nevertheless, the roof, comfortable tables and benches, service - everything is done well. We decided to order a half-kilogram lobster (600 pesos) and fish ceviches since we were not very hungry. The dishes were perfectly cooked. The cost is quite comparable with the cost in other restaurants in Puerto Vallarta. We are quite satisfied with the visit.

Amazing place in the shade over the river. We came here after visiting the market, 5 minutes walking distance. The restaurant is hidden in the shade, which is very pleasant on a hot day. The menu is small, but all dishes are local cuisine and made from fresh products. We ordered shrimp ceviche, fresh lobster and pineapple lemonade. Everything was fresh and tasty. Friendly staff, quiet local music. Also there was an iguana, quite high in the tree.

Such a cool spot! Literally a tree with some Tarps over it, but talk about an authentic experience. My fish tacos were fresh and delicious, and as usual we received about a pound of guacamole when we ordered the chips and guac. Overall a great experience.

Two of us had a very enjoyable lunch here today with a very good friend of ours. The menu is primarily seafood choices, and they are excellent! We had very attentive service with a nice outdoor atmosphere near a small riverbed. The food is delicious! We will be back - this is a hidden gem - I want to try everything on the menu! Balam Balam is a hidden local gem located in a residential neighbourhood. The restaurant is open air and sits next to a fast moving river, very scenic and local vibes. I think I might have been the only tourist at the time when I went to eat, the rest of the tables were locals. The owner of the place was very friendly and funny. He recommended the grilled whole red snapper which did not disappoint, it was really delicious!! The octopus that we ordered was also very tender, probably the best octopus I had in PV. They also had fresh oysters that day but we didn’t end up getting it since we already had so much food. If you’re looking for a place with great local seafood, I highly recommend Balam Balam. You’ll get delicious seafood and you’ll be directly supporting local businesses.

We came in the midst of a rain storm and had one of the best seafood/service experiences ever! The people running the place were so nice and gracious, we even got some free dishes and shots of drinks we didn’t order. The food was absolutely delicious and we felt it was made with much care and LOVE. We’re definitely coming back when the sun comes out to try the grilled fish! Highly recommended!!!!

What a gem! Local with a charm by the river. Open 11am-7pm. We went for dinner at 6pm and they were already out of the whole snapper we wanted. Had the Octopus which was so tender (just like how they prepare it in Spain!). Lily our server was very friendly and spoke enough English to be of help. We enjoyed our deep fried shrimp tacos and two beers! Such a relaxing place and excellent food and reasonable prices. Went back another day and had the whole grilled snapper ... as fresh as they come and simply tasty! Antonio the chef did an excellent job!

Balam Balam is my favourite lunch of my trips to PV. The whole fish over charcoal is delicious. Antonio the owner is a legend. So nice and friendly. Perfect shady spot with the babbling river sounds.

There's a lot to love at Balam Balam. Sitting on their patio, overlooking the river, under a canopy of trees is awesome. Service was very good as was most of our food,such as the guacamole and fish tacos. The only disappointment was the whole grilled snapper, their specialty. It was dry and over cooked. I feel like the dish has a lot of potential, and maybe we just came at a bad time to not get a great example of their grilled fish.

Located right along the river. They were empty when we arrived at 5pm on a Wednesday. The fish tacos were delicious. The fish was fried, but not greasy. The fresh fish ceviche tostada was our least favourite item. The fish was ground up into little bits and was dry. We also ordered the octopus tostada and this was flavourful.

This place is a local favorite, renowned for its fire-grilled fish and octopus, although they were unfortunately out of stock during our visit. We settled for a "seafood cocktail," which only included shrimp, and a rather average fish taco that was overly saucy. While I regret not being able to try their famous grilled items, the overall experience was pretty average.

Red snapper’s good, but very unfriendly service and it’s mosquito infested outdoor only seating as it is beside a somewhat dry riverbed. Eaten there several times old guy who serves is quite rude. Thought it was a fluke 1st few times, but no. There’s much better options in PV.

Es muy caro, el servicio un asco los que nos atendieron estaban bien enojados y no nos hacían caso, si no hay mesas los juntan en una mesa con unos extraños y además si no tienen mesas casi casi te andan corriendo de tu mesa. No volvería jamás en mi vida.

Eh pedido varias veces por plataforma y la comida tarda mas de 40 minutos en preparación sumando que hay que entregar es mas de una hora.

Fui con amigos y al pedir tacos de camarón , nos dimos cuenta que era un camarón partido por taco . No tenían nada del menú , y de bebidas solo agua mineral . El servicio horrible , muchísimo tiempo esperando y el mesero una actitud horrible . Recomiendo jamás visitar este lugar

Aquí solo para opinar mi experiencia me trataron como si fuera una basura llegué a preguntar si podía ver si carta para checar precio y el señor tal vez el dueño me dijo que no y solo hizo señas de que me fuera me fui y pues me desagrado su forma descortés de tratarme y pues solo expreso mi esperiencia que fue la verdad me desagrada ese tipo de personas que juzgan solo por la apariencia por su atención gracias

After going to this riverside outdoor restaurant for 4 years, this week I got severe infection from my shrimp tacos. I’m going to the local urgent care later this morning because I’m still suffering from fever and diarrhea. They seem to be trying to make it something other than the quiet, friendly place it was with some new staff and decor.
