Good Italian food and a cheap price

BEST PASTA EVER

We were looking for an off the beaten path smaller restaurant with good food and found this one near our hotel. This is a very small place - not fancy but with a lot of character. The bruschetta had so many levels of flavor, and a sauce to go with it. It was the best bruschetta we have ever eaten and it was served on warm wooden pallets. This alone is worth the trip but there was much more. We tried the Marlin ravioli, spinach ravioli and spaghetti Bolognese. You get to choose the pasta you want (which is all homemade) and the sauce. For the ravioli two of us chose the Arrabbiata sauce which was a fresh light sauce with a little kick. It was delicious. We also tried 2 desserts, the tiramisu and a homemade ice cream sandwich. Both were very smooth and delicious. We plan to eat here again since we are here for another week. The prices were very reasonable for the quality of food. Definitely worth checking out!

Complimenti a Luca. Si mangia molto bene. La prima volta assaggiato trancio di pizza che è fine ma buona. La seconda volta assaggiato la lasagna che consiglio a tutti. Infine oggi ho provato il pizza burger, che è una vera chicca seguito da un affogato. Vi assicuro che ci mette tutto suo amore, passione ed esperienza da vero italiano, vi consiglio di provarlo.

Dieses kleine italienische Restaurant ist so unscheinbar und um ehrlich zu sagen, nicht besonders einladend aus, ABER! ES SCHMECKT WUNDERBAR!!!!!!!!! Ich kann jedem empfehlen, der nach Puerto Vallarta kommt, hierher zu kommen um zu essen! 😊

This is the best italian food in Puerto Vallarta. Its a simple and small restaurant but the pizza and the pasta its really fresh! Traditional home made style pasta. The most authentic Italian I've found in PV. My home town is 75% Italian immigrants so I know Italian. The owner seems to be a hard worker who takes pride in his products. It's a tiny place but full of atmosphere.

Luca, the owner/ chef makes all of his pasta from scratch. He is very gracious abd obliging. Today I had 1/2 a Caprese Salad, which has his homemade pesto on top along with fresh homemade bread and dipping sauce. I also had a slice of mushroom pizza...delicious topping and crispy crust. My favorite though, is gnocchi with a tomato sauce...fresh cooked tomatoes. Try Magna Magna across from Hidalgo Park...up from Starbucks.

Es fácil caer en frivolidades, comentarios superficiales... Sin embargo, puedo asegurar que es la mejor pasta que he probado en mi vida. Porciones generosas, precios acordes a la calidad, un ambiente maravilloso. Y que decir de Lucca el dueño, te hace sentir en casa... Desde el agua recién hecha con albahaca fresca, las pastas caseras...TODO! Tienen que venir a Magna Magna cuando visiten Vallarta Centro! Recomendado, muy buena comida llena de carbohidratos para antes del maratón de puerto Vallarta. Me atendió muy bien. Si vuelvo a regresar a Puerto Vallarta iría a comer aquí de nuevo

So, this is our 4th time here. We come here each time we come to Puerto Vallarta; it has now become a tradition. We found this place by accident on one of our first trips and have been coming back every time since. The food is fantastic, the place is quaint and feels like a home kitchen to us. We love the owner/chef and have NEVER had a bad meal. Tonight Bruchetta and Spinach Ravioli, made fresh, like always. LOVE THIS PLACE! Can’t say enough good things about it. VERY worth seeking out! **Little known fact: the owner will teach you how to make 6 different kinds of pasta in a small class of 2-6 persons with a days lead time that you want to do it.

I ordered the bruchetta to start , it was fresh and delicious. Then had the fettuccine with pesto and it was incredible; the home made pasta and sauce was perfect. Even had the ice cream sandwich for dessert and calling it that was an understatement as it was much more than what you might expect. Miles ahead of all the resturaunts I've tried with along the "strip". Highly recommend and ita a great value for the price. The owner luca was great as well. Nothing but good things to say about the place.

First night in PV and we had Chef Lucas's delicious cooking. I had the Mahi Mahi Ravioli and my wife had Lasagna. The food was made with great taste and passion. Lots of respect to this business owner who holds it down with the front and back of the restaurant. Has it down to the T. I enjoyed the small but intimate venue which is just steps away from the sqaure. I highly recommend this place! I would definitely come back.

Almost a hidden gem a couple blocks off boardwalk. Fresh house made pasta and pizza. Owner appears to be the only one working so he dies all the jobs. If you don’t want your sit down just take an inexpensive slice to go.

Luca was amazing true Italian and you can taste his pride & love in his dishes. Small little place with a couple tables and he had some weekly regulars in for dinner. Highly recommend you give it a try if you’re craving a little pasta while you’re in Mexico.

My wife and I just had a 5 course meal this evening at Magna Magna. Started with fresh chopped/seasoned tomato (bruschetta)on toasted homemade bread (shared) and a mixed salad (shared)that we watched Luca (owner/chef) make from scratch. Then had a bowl of the tortalini and vegetable soup, for mains we had the house made spinach ravioli with a vegetable/Italian sausage sauce and the house made fettuccine with a spicy arrabiatta sauce .. finished off with house made tiramisu and chocolate mousse. Fresh, top quality, very tasteful meal. We will be back to try more on the menu!

Great little place at Plaza Hidalgo. The owner is very kind and genuine, and manages to produce amazing cuisine out of the tiny kitchen. The menu is simple, and handmade, and executed with excellence. You can enjoy pizza or fresh pasta with a selection of fresh juices for a very reasonable price. Pasta, sauces, desserts, and a selection of imported meats are available to take out to create your own Italian meal at home. The location is unique and cozy. My wife and I make a point to bring our three daughters every time we are in the area. PV has many great restaurants to check out, but Magna Magna is definitely a gem.

You know, Puerto Vallarta has so many little gems. Even if one stays down near the malecon, there's almost too much to discover. But, it gets even tougher to see it all of you fan out further. This little place is about a 5-10 minute walk from the beach, a little out of the tourist area and into a more or less normal PV residential area (though still a lot of tourists close to here, as well). Magna Magna is a place run by an Italian guy. It features pizzas in the window rather prominently, but also offers salads and pasta dishes. We had fettuccini w/ pesto sauce and tortellini stuffed w/ a cheese & herb mixture. They do have meat dishes, but we're vegetarians, so we ordered the veg stuff. The pastas were fresh (home made!) & the sauces tasty. He gave us some home made bread to go along w/ it...had a salad there as well. What I liked best about this place was the freshness of everything. Also very reasonable... the two pasta dishes & salad came to 220 pesos, which isn't bad at all.

It's a great place if you are in that part of town to grab a pizza or some pasta, but wouldn't make a special trip there to eat. All the usual Italian dishes. Playing it sade and staying in their comfort zone.

Es un lugar pequeño con mucho sabor! Lucca se encarga de preparar, atender y hacer amena la visita, todo es muy delicioso, nosotros probamos casi de todo y quedamos convidados a volver.

Had an early dinner been to this place several times before , this is a hidden gem , small but we'll decorated Italian restaurant . Chef / owner is Italian and has a nice menu surprisingly well prepared for many deliciouse Italian dishes very tasty he does wonders in the kitchen also makes he's own hand made pasta, it won't hurt your pocket , make sure you try his home made tiramisu located by parque hidalgo on the side street where Starbucks is at a few locals . Stop in you will be very glad you did.

Owner is nice. The fresh juice was good. The pasta is made fresh, however the sauce is not even close to Italian. Canned spaghetti O's are better. The red sauce had carrots in it. The pizza tasted like the square school lunch pizza. It's a shame the owner is really nice and is making everything fresh. Unfortunately I don't think he has ever eaten Italian food before. The red sauce tastes like it was made from ketchup. The pesto tastes like someone who has only seen a picture of it, made it.

My wife and I each had pasta & shared a caprese salad. The owner served us and was kind. The salad was simple, fresh and delicious. Unfortunately, my wife's ravioli was overcooked, soft in the mouth, and flavorless. My gnocchi did not taste like it was made fresh. It felt more akin to mashed potato lumps than to gnocchi. My sauce was thin and also flavorless. I hate to leave a negative review, but in a town where good food is readily available, it is a shame to waste a meal at a restaurant like this. I would encourage you to look elsewhere for a meal.

Worst Bolognese sauce ever. A thin, watery soup with little tomato sauce or spices in it. Large pieces of hamburger and huge slices of carrots (2 peso size) floating in it. No flavor.
