La Iguana restaurant and tequila bar in old Hollywood Casa Kimberly is an iconic establishment. Make reservations to dine in an atmosphere that is more Italian villa than Mexican casa. The venue has multiple areas to enjoy your meal. Choose the main dining room with a table close to the windows with a view of “the secret bridge” Burt had built to rendezvous with Liz when the need arose. This is top tier dining set attire. Dress code enforced to casual dress up vs. beach clothes. The tequila selection is near everything Jalisco offers that is worthy to brag about. Do sample Reserva de la familia extra añejo for a once in a lifetime experience. The menu limited options excels in satisfaction, creativity, and culinary artistic display. Savory, fresh, uniquely crafted food pairings will have you slow down and contemplate every portion. Relaxing dining facilitated by a team of unobtrusive, on-the-spot staff that provide warm friendly interactions. All of this beauty, atmosphere, service is luxurious and prices reflect the experience. So, celebrate life with a visit to remember and be frugal the rest of the year.

What a phenomenal experience. The service was absolutely amazing. The staff were always ready to help with any request we had. Our glasses were always full of water. They accommodated our table of 12 with no problem. Very friendly people, and delicious food. They had a large menu with lots of various options and an even bigger drink menu. Food and drinks were slightly higher than other establishments but the service and quality of food here was what you were paying for, worth every dollar. Photos include: the duck, the fillet, the fish fillet of the day, the pork loin, the lobster, the mussels, beet salad, squash blossoms, and the salmon.

Review is from Sept is 2025. Everything from the moment we arrived was excellent. Beautiful home converted to a boutique hotel and restaurant that belonged to Liz Taylor. Food and service was perfect from start to finish. Prices are comparable to upper end US restaurants. If you’re looking for a finer dining experience while in Vallarta this is one of them. Enjoy.

This restaurant is in a beautiful old home of Elizabeth Taylor. The food and service here was excellent. It is a true fine dining experience. The views are great but not the best of the hillside restaurants. There is basically no parking in the area, definitely take a taxi. We made reservations the day of our meal and we were seated immediately upon arrival, 30 minutes before reservation time.

We celebrated our 40th anniversary here on 9/14. A thunder storm worked its way westward over the ocean and painted a perfect sunset. My beautiful bride absolutely loved it. Everything from the soup to the exquisite deserts was fabulous and the service impeccable. The scrumptious deserts on one plate with a loving message sealed it. While we're not foodies, we are well traveled and have dined at some fine restaurants. The Iguana stands with the best we have had the pleasure of experiencing. We salute the staff for such a wonderful dining experience. We will return.

Such a beautiful place. We received excellent service and ate delicious food with a stunning view. I really appreciate the effort they make with the dress code to elevate the experience.

Literally THE coziest and classiest restaurant experience in the area. Formerly Elizabeth Taylor’s home - its sexy charm and warmth lives up to her legacy. The food, service, and view are nothing short of spectacular. I wouldn’t drive here if you can help it; the streets are very narrow and there’s no parking. Best to catch a cab! I wouldn’t call this a kid friendly environment either which is either a good thing or bad thing depending on what you’re looking for!

Amazing atmosphere, food and service. Mariachi entertainment was exceptional and understated. A totally memorable 20th anniversary ❤️!

I have heard about this restaurant for years, but hadn't had a chance to visit. Beautiful place. One best filets I have had in 20 years!

Very beautiful and elegant place. The service is great and the food is delicious. If you are looking for a nice, elegant place that over sees the town this is the place. From the view to the appetizers, drinks, main dish, and desserts, you will not be disappointed.

A must stop in Puerto Vallarta. Views are gorgeous, staff is phenomenal and food is incredible. Every.single.time. Very romantic as it was Elizabeth Taylor’s house.

My birthday dinner was just perfect. Attentive but not annoying service. Stunning setting. Delicious food, prices stiff for PV but lower than back home. So many starters but I opted for the a y arugula salad because I’ve had so many heavy meals here on vacation. It was no disappointment — the flavors were amazing and tangy and the perfect way to prepare for the entree. Others at the table enjoyed the dual-colored poblano/black bean soup, and the creamy pumpkin soup and the octopus. My entree of fish filet + passion fruit sauce was delicious and a generous portion. Others enjoyed their short rib, pork shank, and salmon. Again, generous portions that required a take-home container. At this point we were happily stuffed and just nibbles in the complimentary birthday dessert.

10/10 experience. First spot I visited on day 1 of my trip. Amazing views, excellent service and delicious food! Told the waiter we were on our honeymoon and they provided us with a complimentary dessert. Set the bar very high for the rest of the trip!

The Iguana is everything and so much more in a fine dining restaurant. It is a tribute to a passionate couple! Up on the hillside through cobblestone roads, it's a fun way to see more of Puerto Vallarta. Absolutely beautiful, old charm, elegance, and the decor is presented flawlessly. Bonus', there are surprises everywhere you pause your eyes. Interesting artwork and pictures preserved painstakingly to tell the story of Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. The food here was nothing short of amazing. The service was flawless, and the ambiance was on point! We have tried to get into Iguana the last 3 times , so 3 times charm and I hope together back again soon!

Whether you’re interested in great service and food, history and culture, or a great view- The Iguana has it all! I was welcomed in as a single woman with no hesitation and was seated at a table with the best view. The fish of the day was mahi-mahi and it was incredible. I spent about 40 USD for the best meal of my life thus far. Highly recommend!

Our visit this month to Casa Kimberly was a highlight of our vacation! The restaurant there was recommended by the wonderful staff at our hotel, Villa Divina. Absolutely stunning open air restaurant and delicious food. Highly recommend!

One of the top dining experiences of my life! What an absolutely memorable experience. We had dinner on Christmas Day and it was simply divine - the service was impeccable, the views and the setting magical and the food and wine was truly five stars. Yes, it’s expensive but worth every single peso. Our party spent over three hours at dinner, relishing every bite and moment. The mariachi band that ended the evening was fantastic. A Christmas to remember!

This place is stunning—chic, classy, and effortlessly elegant. It was easily one of our favorite dining experiences of the entire trip. The Ambiance: From the moment we walked in, we were captivated by the stylish decor and sophisticated atmosphere. It strikes the perfect balance between modern elegance and warm hospitality. The View: Overlooking the breathtaking skyline of Puerto Vallarta, the restaurant offers an unforgettable backdrop, especially at sunset. Whether you're seated inside or on the terrace, the panoramic views add an extra layer of magic to the dining experience. The Service: Impeccable from start to finish. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming, making us feel like VIP guests throughout the evening. Every detail was thoughtfully considered, and the team was more than happy to offer recommendations. Overall, Elizabeth Taylor's home for dinner is a must-visit if you’re in Puerto Vallarta. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just indulging in an unforgettable meal, this restaurant delivers on every level. Highly recommend!

Amazing atmosphere with breathtaking views of Vallarta. The food is just as good. The ceviche is some of the best I’ve had and the home made ice creams are Devine.

The 60s ambiance and the Hollywood romance of Taylor and Burton permeate this place. Wonderful dining experience top notch service and exquisite food. Unbelievable music. Don’t miss this place make a reservation

One of the best restaurants in PV. The restaurant is located in Elizabeth Taylor’s hilltop mansion which is gorgeous, and overlooks the city and ocean. The food is on another level, while it might not be super inventive it’s interesting and so nicely made. The starters were a highlight of the meal. Tying up this great experience were the immaculate service and the live 12 people mariachi band that belted song after song at Broadway level. This place isn’t cheap, but worth every cent.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Iguana Restaurant & Tequila Bar, and I can't stop raving about this hidden gem in Puerto Vallarta! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a stunning view. The menu is a culinary masterpiece, offering a diverse selection of Mexican and international dishes. I indulged in their seafood, and it was a symphony of flavors that left my taste buds dancing. The presentation was impeccable, and every bite was a delightful experience. Their tequila selection is second to none, and the knowledgeable staff helped me choose the perfect tequila to complement my meal. The margaritas here are also top-notch! What sets The Iguana apart is not just the food but the atmosphere. Dining on their terrace with the sound of the waves in the background is truly magical. Whether you're here for a romantic dinner or a celebration with friends, this place has the perfect ambiance. The service was impeccable throughout my visit. The staff was attentive, friendly, and clearly passionate about what they do. In conclusion, The Iguana Restaurant & Tequila Bar exceeded my expectations in every way. It's a dining experience that I will cherish and recommend to anyone visiting Puerto Vallarta. Don't miss the opportunity to savor the flavors and enjoy the hospitality of this outstanding establishment. It's a true culinary delight! Loved the Elizabeth Taylor picture 😍

I mean it's Elizabeth Taylor's house there's not much more amazing things to say. But in case you're looking for a bit more it is the epitome of romance in one building. The food is absolutely five stars. It is pricey but it is worth it, to try all the amazing food and different cocktails it was not going to be cheap.... And I had the most amazing cocktails. The View was second to none, they even have a band / Mariachi of sorts that come around and play music throughout the night they sing and it just sets the most amazing vibe for the experience. After you eat you can wander around and look at Elizabeth Taylor's house stand on the bridge take it all in. After we finished I really wished I had gotten the soup. We did appetizers, entrees, desserts: the whole experience was just incredible. Make sure to get reservations because there is not a table to be had. It's a bit challenging to get there so give yourself lots of time if you're taking a taxi or an Uber. Afterwards you will need to walk down to a more Main Street in order to get Transportation as I found after 8:00 p.m. there were not many taxis coming nearby. But a small price to pay for the most romantic evening

Delicious food and drinks. We had the salad and the salmon which were both great. Both house martinis were great especially the elegant with tequila and champagne. Gorgeous views and outdoor dining at a reasonable price. Highly recommend. Food was better here than at cafe les artistes. Also the grounds/building are exquisite

This was my favorite dining experience in PV. I love old Hollywood so I may have been romanced by its history with Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, but nonetheless the food was spectacular, the service impeccable, and the setting immaculate.

Worth all the hype! The setting is picturesque romantic, we ate at dinner just in town for the gorgeous sunset on Christmas Eve it was perfection! Service was great, flavours were bold and fresh! Loved the mariachi band they aren’t just any band but a well skilled orchestra it is a dream I recommend saving it for a special occasion !

I really can't begin to describe how amazing this meal was and the service. It was exceptional! I had the rack of lamb encrusted with green plantains, blueberry gujillo sauce, asparagus and jalepeno mashed potatoes absolutely one of the best meals ever! For dessert coconut flan just exceptional.

First you need to appreciate that Peurto Vallarta is such a romantic town. Now imagine cobblestone streets winding up the mountain surrounded by quaint homes. Nested halfway up is this stunning restaurant made for memories. World class cuisine that will make your taste buds explode with happiness. Service from the staff is remarkable and I would compare it to any high-end Michelin type establishment. Views to take your breath away. 5 stars and more!

Best Restaurant in Mexico and it’s not even close. Had the fish in passion fruit sauce and it was so good I had to order it again.

One highlight of our PV trip was the Iguana restaurant. So beautiful and the food delectable🙌🏽 the musicians were the highlight. Incredibly talented. The views were to die for, however, I’m keeping those pictures for myself. 🤭

This place is gorgeous with an amazing ambiance and view of the city. It's the perfect place to bring a date or for hanging out with friends. The food was good, but what made it even better was the exceptional service. I would like to recognize Hugo for his great service.

Es Muy Delicioso! Beautiful view, gorgeous space, incredibly delicious cuisine, and impeccable service. We ordered multiple apps and a salad to start and the server had it timed perfectly. I recommend starting with a margherita and then dive into their wine bottle selection. The flan was so light and fluffy, very delicate. Seriously, try everything!

We are enchanted by The Iguana Restaurant at Casa Kimberly. We were serenaded by a mariachi band in full dress, the food was delicious and the service was impeccable. Special thanks to Nestor who took great care of us. We highly recommend The Iguana Restaurant for anyone looking for an elevated dining experience while in PV. Casa Kimberly was the former residence of Elizabeth Taylor, bought for her by Richard Burton. They built a bridge to connect their homes together. Liz lived here for 30 years before selling the property. Fascinating experience!

I fairly enjoyed my meal here on a Friday night. The foods were great. The vibe and service were amazing. (The dress code was confusing tho cuz I saw more men wearing shorts than pants. And even one guy was wearing t shirt without collar. )

B

Best mariachi! It starts at 7 pm. We got there at 5 and waited to hear the mariachi so we were there 2 1/2 hours. Great view of the city and lovely sunset colors. Food was good quality but you pay for the service, the view and the music.

We had a really nice experience here. Very good food in an unforgettable environment. Raul, who was not our waiter but served as our sommelier, recommended what turned out to be the best Mexican wine I've ever had.

The ambiance and beauty of The Iguana is unmatched. Service was impeccable. The food was okay, there were 13 of us and most weren’t super impressed. Short ribs were a highlight. Unfortunately I sucked up a dead bee in my margarita so that left quite the impression! Again though just to see this place was worth it.

Beautiful views and tasty food. Great dining with sweeping sunset views and beautiful night scapes. We have been twice, the first time the service was excellent. The second time the service was good but a little on the slow side. Still highly recommend to try this restaurant - it is a wonderful experience! The restaurant is located in the former home of Elizabeth Taylor and has since been renovated into a stunning boutique hotel. Beautiful spot to take some great photos in the adjacent lobby and also on the bridge that connects Richard Burton's former home.

1st time visit. Sorry to see the dress code on their website is not the dress code they follow. I saw people in board shorts and t shirts. Food was very good and have a good selection of items. Nice view of PV and Banderas Bay. Had a mariachi band that was nice, but the horns were too loud and off key at times. Overall nice place but honestly not worth the money. Service was excellent !!

The atmosphere was good, was expecting views of the water but not the case. Still it was a nice quite dinner. Good sunset if u get a table with the right angle. Food was good bit over priced but all in all a good night

The staff were wonderful and the view is spectacular especially at sunset. It’s a real gem and completely happy I came. But the food is a huge miss. Possibly the worst I’ve eaten in Puerto Vallarta. The blandness won out even after ample dashes of salt. Flavor was absent from every dish served. It was a disappointment. The ambiance, however, is what saved it to 3 stars. It’s hard to rate such a beautiful place with some of the worst food I’ve had in Mexico.

C
Chantel DeSloover

Our servers were great. Nice atmosphere and view. Food was very mediocre for the price. They also stress a dress code but many people are wearing beach clothes or pajamas, which kind of throws off the classier vibe. Overall, a cool experience— but would rather just stay with less expensive places with better food.

The stage was set for a beautiful Christmas dinner - and beautiful it was - however, I cannot eat with my eyes. Everything read AMAZING on paper, but the execution was fumbled over and over. Starters - The squash blossoms cold and chewy - which had great fried cheese though served under(panko saved it), the octopus was over overcooked in a way that made it dissolve in your mouth, and the mussels were cold and “mealy”. Soups - such a sweet unbalanced confection of a pumpkin soup that screamed “I NEED SALT!” and a poblano bean soup that reminded me of blended leftovers of yesterdays beans and peppers lacking any roast. The presentation of the soup was gorgeous, but it lacked the substance and soul I was expecting from just a majestic location. Entree - the short ribs were uneatable. Overcooked, lacking texture, and over powered by the sweet potato. We had three bites and asked for the check. No one asked us if there was a problem which leads me to believe there’s a big problem. Overall - an amazing restaurant to eat with your eyes. If you can manage to leave your mouth at home - you’ll love it here. Personally, this is the worst quality per money I have experienced.

I visited this restaurant on Sunday, February 15th with a group of seven, and while the setting and views were undeniably beautiful, the experience was overshadowed by the behavior of the receptionist. When I arrived, I was wearing a sleeveless, button‑down, collared linen shirt. I understand dress codes and would have had no issue being told directly and respectfully. Instead, the receptionist looked past me and spoke to my group, saying, “Your friend cannot come in like that. Can he change?” I was standing right next to her as the group’s translator, which made the situation unnecessarily embarrassing. Only after the awkwardness did she offer me one of the restaurant’s spare shirts — an offer I would have appreciated from the start. Once inside, I noticed at least eight women wearing tank tops or sleeveless blouses. It seems the dress code is applied only to men, which felt inconsistent and unfair. The uncomfortable treatment didn’t end there. When I asked for my shirt at the end of the evening, the receptionist simply pointed to a cabinet and said, “You can get it over there.” Throughout dinner, she repeatedly gave our table unfriendly looks, which added to the overall sense of being unwelcome. For a group that spent nearly $2,000 USD, the lack of courtesy and professionalism was disappointing. As for the food: it was fine, though nothing extraordinary. The stuffed pumpkin flowers were the standout dish. The ambience, architecture, and views were incredible — it really is a stunning, surreal space. Unfortunately, the dismissive service, particularly from the receptionist, overshadowed what could have been a much better dining experience.

So disappointed!!!! We never had a chance to eat. It was a special occasion and we arrived early to be seated in the outdoor patio directly in front of the ac unit. The place was 1/3 full. We ordered a cocktail but could not hear the music, each other, or the server. Although it is adult focused, we had a large ac and kids screaming behind us from the hotel or a home. I asked the hostess in the magenta dress if we could move inside and she said no. It was 1/3 full. We told the server we would take our drinks to the bar and paid our bill but would not eat where we could not enjoy it. He suggested we ask for a new table in the 1/3 full restaurant and we said we had. He apologized. We spoke to the concierge who did not care and went to Barcelona Tapas which was GREAT!!!
