Solid diner food. Was hungry for a well made corned beef hash and 2 eggs over easy. Turned around I had coffee, blinked twice I had my breakfast. Simple mom n pop type of establishment, with great service n the "this is what I wanted" type of food.

I really like this diner. Apart from the fact it's the only one left in the area they have really good American fare. The portions are pretty good usually leaving me with leftovers that I can have 2nds & sometimes 3rds. My faves are the turkey & meat loaf dinners & I really love their red cabbage & stuffed mushrooms. Breakfast, I prefer the Swiss & mushroom omelet with bacon on the side w/ whole wheat toast & home fries & all the coffee refills u want. Their desserts are great quality if you still have room. The staff is always welcoming & friendly & they recognize you after one visit. It's a friendly place to go. I've taken relatives & friends In the last few years & it's become their "go to" place for brunch or lunch also. I recommend it wholly.

Food is great, service is good. Sometimes the lady's there seem a bit frustrated idk but I understand. Maybe the busy morning rush idk. The one mexican guy running around tho always has a smile when greeting customers I rather him serve me lol. But the food comes out correct and on time I never have a complaint on that.

Overall, a pretty quality "greasy spoon" type neighborhood diner that offers everything you expect and not a whole lot more. When I go to a diner, I usually order a burger or breakfast, so if you stray too far away from diner staples, I dunno what you're gonna get. Solid burgers and a reasonable breakfast with good service are my experiences here.

A quant little diner but with big smiles and great service the 1950s style design almost feels authentic food was excellent the waitress was very attentive to what we wanted and the portions was something to admire all the food we ordered came out in a good time and with whatever extra wait time if any parking is something to get a little overwhelmed about since it's really small and tight and a added plus it's open late so if you ever that way stop by the Glendale diner !

Had to wait for our order to be served, but it was a long weekend and they were short staffed, so can't complain. Food was good, lot of options for omelette, good place to hang out for late morning brunch and catch up with friends and family.

It's been a long time since I have visited the Glendale diner, as it went through a bit of a bad time and cleanliness left a lot to be desired. However I have recently heard a number of good reviews from locals and decided to give it a shot for breakfast. They were extremely, accommodating to my eating restrictions, clean, and the food is quite good.

A pretty good place to eat. It has all the typical diner fare, breakfast, lunch, dinner. Several specials each day and plenty of choices for kids. Rather pricey for some things, but I guess you get what you pay for. I enjoy the burgers and the wraps. My family and I visit once a month or so. Friendly service. Would have given 5 stars but the prices make it only 4. You won't be disappointed if you visit.

This is what diners should be about! The coffee kept coming. The place was clean. The service was friendly and professional. It was an early weekday morning. Felt leisurely yet snappy. I had a lovely start to the day.

Get the French dip. I like ordering onion rings with it but sometimes the o ion rings are soggy. The service here isn't always the best (skill level of wait staff) but they are super friendly. The food is hit or miss. I suggest asking others for recommendations before ordering. The delivery man is very nice.

They make a pretty delicious gyro and the fries are never too oily or soggy. The pricing is a bit high for a diner but the food is delicious so I keep coming back haha. The pancakes are also good but they are not any different from what I can make with a store bought pancake mix. Overall, if you feel lazy and don’t want to cook, Glendale Diner got your back! Homemmade taste and good service. However, it isn’t anything I couldn’t make so take that as you will.

I grew up coming to this diner. I recently started going again and the food tasted like home. It's exactly as I remembered. Which means they are consistent. I always get breakfast at diners. It never disappoints. No upgrades to the look or the staff either. If you want an old school classic diner, this is the place.

I eat from here all the time - unfortunately, I didn't take pics this time. The diner is very nostalgic being from the area. I got a burger with bacon which seems to be my usual and an egg cream. Their cobb salad is my usual- it's hearty and fresh. Def recommend.

Very nice and cozy. It's an optical illusion sort of say, since it does look pretty small, from the outside but much bigger on the inside with big booths and tables that could accommodate larger groups. Also they have a place to park your car about 6 or 7 spots, which I had no idea and was a great surprise since like I said was pretty small looking from the outside, So I was impressed with that. My server was great and on point. She was very friendly and attentive. We ordered 2 appetizers and 4 main dinner dishes, drinks and apps came out very quickly and fresh, and the dinners followed in a very good timely manner. 👍🏻 👍🏻 Two thumbs up for the cooks who made that happen with great tasting food!! This place is pretty decent, pricing is reasonable, food is ok, servers are pleasant but the guy who does the takeout orders is just the most unpleasant miserable looking person. Witnessed him being rude & sarcastic to the employees. Overheard him complaining about an order a customer put in. Just extremely unprofessional. He definitely needs a course in customer service.

I knew Glendale diner over 60 years ago when it was BobS diner. It’s fine for breakfast. Home fries are good. Burgers are fine. I think the mashed potatoes may be instant. I do wish they would improve their food. It is very blah. I’d like to see them update and improve their food. Lastly Glendale diner use to be open till 1 and 2 in the morning. They now close at 10 pm 7 nights a week. What a bummer. I’m sorry I only gave them 3 stars because they are a landmark in our neighborhood. I hope they make it great again. I wish them only the best.

An old school feel and look to the place, good food in both taste and options. Nice portion of food. Staff are also good but some could be better. Not a bad place to go with friends and family and not expensive. A small parking lot in the back of the diner that can get packed quickly (about 5-6 cars) and a small space to park on the side of the diner. Across from a gas station and about a block from a bank which is convenient. Not a bad place to pass the time epically if you go at night. Small jukebox at each table that adds to that old school feel. Atm is available here but credit/debit is accepted.

Great food.. good service.. small parking lot. Food was delicious, try the Romanian steak and eggs for breakfast... it was awesome.. Update... went on labor day and was totally let down. Do not know if it's new owners but the place looked dirty.. floor was sticky... onion rings were burnt.. waitress was nice, however food was terrible... only good thing was the pastrami my sister had. Everything else was over cooked.. hopefully if was just a bad day due to holiday.. normally this place is pretty good..

If you absolutely need to eat and there's nothing else in sight for miles (although there is), by all means visit this diner. The staff is nice but the food is just OK and the cleanliness needs serious attention. I don't mind the old decor, but the bathrooms are never stocked with toilet paper it seems and smell like they haven't been cleaned in a while. Do you want to gamble with your hypochondria?

This diner was okay. There was nothing amazing about the food. I had chicken fingers and fries with a side of over easy eggs on top of my fries. My friend had a chicken salad. The food wasn't extraordinary it was just ok. The coffee wasn't very strong, but it wasn't watery. It was just ok. I would go again if I had to, but I wouldn't go out of my way to do so. Towards the end of my meal I asked if they had any coffee cake since they have sweets displayed in a fridge, and they said no. The highlight of the experience was that they have a very small lot in the back with a few spaces for parking. The waitress was nice. Overall I'd say 3 out 5 star experience.

I went with my mom, dad, and sister. I got the carbonara that came with a side of soup or salad, I got the chicken noodle soup which wasn't too bad but not the best and then I got my carbonara (Chicken, mushroom, and small roughly chopped bacon) it was very filling (I made it about 2/3 before having to ask for a take out box) and while eating I noticed that there was a lot of oil coming out from either the sauce or the other things on my plate. My sister said her food wasn't good and that the chicken was bland but I forgot what she got so sorry I can't really help in that area. Overall I feel like the breakfast is better than the pasta they're serving 6/10

Come here regularly except during this pandemic. Service is always good except this last time. The waitress got my order wrong but did correct it. Hubby's burger bun had mold. Management did not give a discount or anything because "why should we, we're making it again so it's costing money". Be that as it may the fact remains THERE WAS FREAKING MOLD ON THE BREAD! what my husband was supposed to eat? My second meal had an old egg. I could tell by the yolk color and white texture. Not cool. Not returning to this diner again. CHECK YOUR FOOD CAREFULLY.

I've been going to this Diner in Queens, NY since I was 5 years old. I've always had friendly service and the food is good. This review is based on my most recent visit. We showed up around 1AM for some breakfast after a night out. Our waitress didn't get my order and another one of my friends order right. Despite that-she was incredibly funny. She truly gave me a GOOD belly laugh. My father was so upset that my order was wrong, he asked her to take it back and she still brought back the wrong order! I didn't mind as much as my dad did. To relieve the tension, she began hitting on my dad despite the fact that his girlfriend was sitting right across from him. It was all too funny. I'll be back.

I made a order for me and my wife for lunch. The food came, but I also ordered 3 sodas with the meal. The food was very good and tasty. The diner sent the sodas out on his next run, but it was almost 20 minutes later and 2 of the cups of sodas fell over and soaked the bag. I ordered a root beer and 2 sprite sodas, but I got instead 2 ginger ale sodas. I and my wife were very disappointed with the service.

We've been coming here on and off here for a while. The main attraction are the jukeboxes. Don't get your hopes up, the songs inside those jukeboxes haven't been updated in decades. Perhaps I'm being nolgastic but I hope this establishment never removes these jukeboxes. Even if the selections are outdated. The staff have always been nice towards us, no complaints there. There was one waitress maybe back in 2016 - 2018 who was a real sweetheart but I haven't seen her in some time. After that, there was one crabby waitress who wasn't great, but then I never saw her again. In all, it's an average old school diner. My advice - don't order dinner here. Just don't. Order something small like coffee, or a side order of fries. Anything above that you'll be disappointed. Which is too bad. I've really wanted to give this more stars but honestly, the food is subpar. What saves the place is the occasional random convos I've had with other customers. Still, I'm rooting for this place. It's not too late to turn around and fix its reputation. Diners are becoming rare nowadays. And they better not take those jukeboxes out.

I was expecting a fresh breakfast. I ordered four different platters and the only good thing were the two omelettes, the bacon one was delicious. The buttered toasts were made with old bread (I can tell because of the flavor and texture), the French toasts tasted terrible and were literally orange. I use to like eating here, not anymore.

I did not go to this diner I was within the area. I stopped going years ago about 12 because my family didn't feel welcome. Service was horrible, yes!, because we are Hispanics and blacks. Clearly, we felt it. We took family who were on vacation from Oklahoma, and they even said, "Let's hurry up, this is not a place for us. That was the first and last time.

Got a piece of pumpkin pie. You think it would be fresh cause 'tis the season but nope. Almost the entire pie was dried out. Awful, old and pricey at $4.25.

This place reminds me of the classic story The Goose and the Golden Egg. This Diner used to shine, now it's uncared for, dirty, rusty metal chairs, and dusty in multiple places. Broken / damaged / missing trims on table tops, chains, benches, counter overhead, etc. The extra charge for using a CC is unwarranted and sneaky without verbal communication of the new higher total. Food wise, I've had worse, and I've had a lot better at newer food establishments. Generally speaking food is bland with missing seasonings. Case in point, new food establishment only 10 feet away from this place has better burgers, is cleaner, cared for, and even cheaper. I will NOT be returning. If they don't start caring about the place, they will continue to lose costumers and place themselves out of business. Similar to what happened to the Goose in the story at the end.

Ive came here several times because the food is always good, and comes out fast. Attentive busboys, unfortunately waitresses have a nasty attitude towards certain guests, our waitress who was the older blonde lady was rude to me when i asked a question and snatched a menu from my moms hand. But she was really friendly to the caucasian couple in the table next to us. Sus. Not sure if she gives different treatment because she thinks we wont tip or was having a bad morning, but as someone who’s been a server for 8 years herself, you are supposed to treat everyone equally and kindly. It costs nothing to be kind.

What happened to this place? it's so sad to see the quality of their food and service compared to what it was 16 years ago. From middle school to highschool (2006-11) I would stop by this place at least twice a week for a hamburger deluxe. It was the go-to spot for a good burger. Long story short I moved out of New York in 2012. I came back to my old neighborhood for a visit. I decided to stop by and try to relive a memory. It took nearly 30min just to get me seated. Due to they fact I was dining alone, but they still were not that busy and they had many open seats. I ended up ordering a burger. The burger was beyond well done. It was leathery and musty. The bun was burnt. I was very disappointed. Not to mention the place was not kept clean. It's like their was a thin film of grease on every surface and the places that there wasn't grease, there was dust. It breaks my heart to see this place like this. I had so many good memories there with friends and family.

If I can put no stars it would be better... I don’t understand how can this place have 4 stars... I order a wrap with sweet potatoes and melted cheese. I got the order with no sweet potatoes and the wrap was so nasty and the avocado so dark. So I made send me again the order and this time got only the sweet potatoes with no cheese when I had pay 3 dollars more for it. Not worth it at all.

if you order delivery just know they send your order whenever they feel like it. i waited over an hour for two soups because the worker said i should have just picked it up with a pissy attitude.

Dont even step foot in this place unless you want to experience what the 7th layer of hell taste/smells like. Pro tip go to the McDonald down the block at least the food is edible over there.

We were denied entry because my girlfriend had her tiny pocketbook service dog. We chose not to produce documentation and leave quietly because we were confronted in an embarrassing manner in front of the two customers that were dining causing us to believe that we could not trust the food that would be served to us. Staff seemed capable of spitting in our food as they prepared it. its unfortunate that this establishment has no consideration for people with mental health disabilities.

I’ve lived in Glendale for almost 20 years. Retired NYPD Detective and Army Veteran.. I pride myself on respect and customer service.. I waited almost 40 minutes for a cup of coffee while 3 other tables who arrived after I did were served.. I was there with a friend who happens to be Italian lol and he was more upset than I was.. customer service is horrible and when I left I told the owner/manager what happened he didn’t say a word, he didn’t care at all. We just went to Metropolitan Dinner and the food and service was outstanding!! (2nd comment) So you took the time to respond to my review but never said a word when I left with a complaint. Not only can I prove you’re lying about me only being there 10 mins, I have parking meter receipts, texts and calls I took while waiting. I would like to state I didn’t wait 40 minutes for coffee it was around 27 minutes by the time a cup of coffee came to our table, we left after waiting 40 minutes… it’s absurd that you clearly recognize you served other tables who arrived after we did who also ordered simple eggs, pancakes and bacon.. but it took me 9 minutes to receive my order at the Metropolitan Dinner where the service was outstanding. Learn from this and train your staff, also show your customers you care.. it’s as simple as that.

I came here with my family today and I got to say this is the worst dinner I have ever been in. I usually never write reviews, but this is bad. Since the start I felt unwelcome. The atmosphere and the service was not friendly at all. My mom and I both got burgers and one of the burger had mold on the bun and both our burger bun had a very bad/off smell, clearly was spoilage. When we tell the waiter she just told us if we want different buns. Just wanting to replace the buns. My dad stepped in and said no, because that is a health risk. The whole burger is contaminated. I told them to smell the buns because we aren't lying. The other waiter asked what the issue was and took our burgers. And when she came back, she said her manager said that the buns have flours on the bottom and that is normal. This isn't our first time ordering burgers and we know how to tell the difference between mold and flour. And after that, we left they didn't ever apologized. Other restaurants/dinner, when an issue like this happen they apologize. The waiter and the manager aren't professional at all. I thought my family and I felt like this, but as I am going over the reviews, it's an issue. We were definitely racially profiled. The waiter just gave us bad service compared to other tables. Felt like she didn't want to attend us in general. That was a very uncomfortable experience I've never felt. We thought this was a good restaurant because of the high rating. Don't come here.

My husband and I came to this place a while ago and the atmosphere and the service was not friendly at all, definitely felt tense and unwelcome. After reading all the reviews I know now it's not just me, apparently people of color and hispanics are being treated poorly in this establishment, definitely never returned and advised everyone I know in the neighborhood not to support this diner. It's sad because under new management it can be a great neighborhood place but it's not so I will continue going to spend my money elsewhere like the New York Grill diner just a little further from there on myrtle ave, amazing little spot with great food and awesome customer service.

I had a disappointing experience at Glendale Diner. Most of the food seemed to be processed and just deep-fried, lacking any real freshness. I ordered the spaghetti, and it was completely tasteless. Overall, the quality just wasn’t there. I wouldn’t recommend this place and definitely don’t plan on coming back.
