Cada mañana disfruto de la amable atención y un buen cafe, sabroso y agradable. Every morning, I enjoy the friendly service and a good cup of coffee—pleasant and flavorful.
Best coffee anywhere. I am spoiled now snd sent stink any other.
Classic, to the point. I like their coffee and the gentleman greeting me at the door 👍
Since we moved to Sunnyside, that’s where we get Turkish coffee ,it’s the best place to get it!!!
Great variety and great coffee to go. Support this great local business
Would highly recommend their house blend. Delicious and cheap!
Good honest coffee roastery. Old school New York at its best.
The best beans offering a great many options. Always leaves me coming back for more
Fresh coffee beans make the best coffee. Ice coffee is great too!
High quality local roaster with very reasonable prices.
⁹Best coffee .Good quality good services good vibes....

Very good coffee. Good selection.

For a real cup of coffee
The coffee is not bad
Get your coffee, Get your life. Amazing
You should not be buying your coffee anywhere else. This place is such a great find in Sunnyside. No place else like it and happy to see it still open all these years, but sad to see that it's so underrated. Freshly roasted coffee and friendly helpful staff... It's a perfect-simple place.
Best coffee beans in new york in my opinion - I missed their coffee even while living in colombia - great family run place thats been there forever with a cool old brass coffee roasting setup - amazing smell when they are roasting cofee
The best iced coffee, thanks in part to the homemade coffee ice cubes that they use. That said, Baruir's is best known for their variety of freshly roasted coffees available by the pound, and for their fresh nuts, dried fruits, and other food items.
I love to stop here for my iced coffee. They use frozen coffee as ice cubes! This place has been around for over 50 years. Family owned and the quality is better than any chain.
OG coffee spot with incredible grounded coffee. Great value for high quality coffee. Support this small business! You won’t be disappointed! ☕️
Their coffee is so much better than the area dictates. As they roast the beans in house, it's always fresh. Good medium roast.
Great selections of whole coffee beans. They offer grinding the beans. If you have an espresso machine, try their Brazilian beans!
The best place to get ground coffee in nyc hands down. They also have delicious pastries to go and Hungarian groceries. Don’t miss it.
Their medium house blend is probably the best coffee bean I brewed at home! So strong and flavourful
Amazing espresso coffee,it was so great me n my Fíance decide to buy a pound of French Roasted Colombian to take home.
Great cup of coffee and got a pound of whole Beans to go. Excited to bring them home and brew some.
No frills. Just excellent coffee at great prices. I always pick up a pound when I am in the neighborhood.
Worth going out of the way to get a few pounds of coffee...
Super reasonable price for good, freshly roasted coffee beans. Great service as well.
Always delicious and fresh roasted, best beans around the area.
Excellent coffee and latte. Very inexpensive, fresh roasted and ground.
Staff was very nice and sweet. Coffee taste is very good and it has awesome flavor!
Great fresh roasted coffee done on premises. When I'm out near Queens Blvd I'll stop in and buy a couple pounds of French roast Colombian beans. Wish they were closer to my house. They do grind lt up if you need. They have been in business for close to 60 years if not more.
Delicious freshly roasted coffee is so much better! They have a great selection to choose from. Beyond that, they have lots of other delicious goodies. I had only ever heard of Turkish Delights in The Chronicles of Narnia. It was exciting to find them and get to try them for real. P.S. Turkish Delights are delicious. I definitely recommend them if you have a sweet tooth. 😉
I've been coming here for my coffee (and chocolate espresso beans) for about two years now. I've loved every bean I've had, all very fairly priced, not to mention the staff are all very kind and respectful. The espresso beans are tasty too, and make a great little gift for caffeine fiends. Definitely recommended
Coffee beans are fresher, better, and less expensive than the ones from Starbucks or other big chains. I get the French Roast for my sister who uses a French press, but I personally love the Medium Strong house blend for my automatic drip coffee maker. Also, they sell really tasty pine nuts, if you like to make pesto.
I love the French Roasted Columbian coffee from here, it's my favorite and I can't live without. It just taste different better then other French Roasted Columbian brands I've bought elsewhere. It's my go to place for dried fruits too. Prunes, Dates, Apricots, Cranberries, Pineapple, Papaya. They carry other products as well. It's a lovely shop, with charm.
good coffee, kind people, cute cat. i tried a pastry and walnut candy (like Turkish Delight but made in house), both fresh and tasty. small but good selection of dried fruits, nuts, teas, cheese, and more from southeastern and eastern europe.
Amazing place! Friendly staff. Delicious coffee! Better than Starbucks or any other coffee shop. They should charge more for such great coffee.
Baruir's coffee is not only amazing, it is amazing. Currently remodeled business. Amazing coffee shop with a variety of coffee beans. If you want to buy fresh coffee beans. This is your place to go!!!
We found this place walking around the neighborhood. It’s unassuming, simple and an institution for the area. Last time we grabbed small bags of their organic roasts for home. We like doing pour overs and espresso. My partner specifically liked the Guatemalan bean for its blueberry notes. Pricing is average or medium low in consideration of the industry. Yes, you can’t really tell when the beans were roasted as they’re not on the bag, but we had no issues or concerns. It’s from an older more classic time where specialty coffee wasn’t a thing. We’ll always pick up a bag or 2 for ourselves on the way back out of nyc.
Drove 2 hours for freshly roasted coffee from Baruir Coffee I know we can buy coffee at some other places but this coffee shop is truly a gem and no other place can compare.

The best decaf coffee that you can buy. Also ice coffee with coffee ice!!
Amazing coffee spot, a Sunnyside institution. The coffee is always freshly roasted, the location is super clean and organized & the staff is super friendly and helpful.
It's awesome that places like this can still be found out here. Aside from those fancy, pretentious cafes, this place shines as a classic, old school neighborhood coffee roaster. They roast their beans on site in the open. I spoke to the owner. You can tell he is proud of his establishment and takes pride in what they do. I got their classic blend as it has the notes I like best. Always fresh and just roasted! Never had an issue with the workers here. They're always polite whenever I go in. Prices very reasonable and great quality coffee. You can get brewed coffee here, small treats and other little items for purchase. But I usually just concentrate on getting my coffee bean supply for at home espresso. I believe they've been in business for over 50 years! I hope this place keeps on going for another 50 as places like this are very hard to find these days!
I’ve been buying my beans here for over a decade. High quality, fair prices, it’s a local family-run Sunnyside institution.
I have always had a good experience and friendly service here. I think I have visited three times. I enjoy coffee or espresso and usually a cherry pastry.
This is absolutely my favorite coffee shop in NYC down to the drinks and aesthetics! The bold flavor of the coffee is perfect for my mornings and the seasonal drinks are definitely something to always look forward to!
Great coffee and a great local shop, everytime I am in the neighborhood, I make sure to come in for some ground coffee and a cappuccino to go!
Awesome local spot, my new go to coffee shop for purchasing my beans. Great selection and customer service is top tier!
I came here years ago when it was a coffee roasting store. My daughter recommended the matcha latte. It was excellent, served hot and great flavor. I hope they expand a bit because they have great product to sell.
The service was really good, my family and me were so glad we found a spot like this, everything was so good.
I've been going to Baruir to get my pound of French Roasted Colombian (ground at #4 on their grinder) for over 20 years. The look of the place has changed a bit, but the quality of the roast hasn't changed. This place is amazing. Baruir was here decades before Starbucks, and will hopefully be here when Starbucks (hopefully!) disappears. Service is fast. For the few people complaining here about the somewhat cranky service or whatever, I dare say they haven't had many dealings with baristas. Do you want a smile, or do you want consistently high quality, locally roasted coffee from an independent purveyor that has survived waves of commercial homogenization in the neighborhood? You can go to Chipotle, or you can go to De Mole. You can go to Starbucks, or you can go to Baruir. Choose the latter, and you choose to support the unique character of your neighborhood.

Good service..
Coffee is excellen but if u ask for some ice in the hot coffee you will get a long look:)
Fresh coffee beans make the best coffee. Ice coffee is great too!
Different coffees, middle eastern groceries, olives, nuts and dried fruit and Romanian papers at very reasonable prices. Worth stopping in if your nearby.
Local roaster. 30+ years same location. Family business with roasting in front window. Even the cat, Peppa is nice!
Amazing coffee shop. They have fresh and tasty coffee. Very traditional store and friendly. The ice coffee came with coffee ice cubes!
Go here for coffee. Good quality beans. Sadly they seem to be reducing in size, so hopefully they continue to do well.
I have walked and ran past this shop a lot and finally stopped by to give it a shot. the place looked very cute but the coffee wasn’t all that. ordered the usual americano and it was a bit on the lighter side and Luke warm. A bit disappointed.

For the good: It's a really cute shop. My boyfriend has gone multiple times and loves the coffee. I'm not a coffee fan, but wanted to join him to get a smoothie bowl since they offer those as well. While the price was pretty great, the good unfortunately ends there. It didn't look like much fresh fruit was used to make the base or to top the bowl. In a quick 5 minute walk home the acai base was essentially soup and tasted only of banana. The menu doesn't list that it includes banana and yet it is topped with it (I understand that is common but as someone who strongly dislikes the way banana overshadows any other flavor I would've loved the opportunity to ask for it to be left out.) Because the acai gets watery so quickly it's practically only one texture and the granola got really mushy. TLDR: If you want coffee this is the place for you, but if you want to try out their other side of the menu (several smoothie and acai bowls are listed) I would steer clear. There are much better options in the same area. While my experience was quite poor I'm sticking to 3 stars because my bf really did like his coffee.

Coffee is decent, nothing amazing. Couple of suggestions, please make sure the coffee is hot and a service with friendliness goes a long way.
When I lived in the neighborhood in the 80s this was my go to spot for great fresh roasted coffee beans. The French roast and mocha java, the signature roasts, are good but nothing to go out of your way for today. My biggest issue with the place now, is I had to deal with an agitated borderline psychotic sales clerk, who must be seeing too many sketchy people come in with masks these days. As I innocently touched the plexiglass divider to scan the coffees now against the wall, the salesperson started to get dysregulated to the point that I thought he was going to assault me. Needless to say, when I paid for the order, there was no thank you. What else is there to say? Won't be going to Sunnyside anytime soon to pick up my coffee.
I visited Baruir’s for the first time today and ordered a decaf cappuccino with oat milk. The drink itself was great. Noticed they offer a variety of decaf coffee beans. What stood out more was a momentary yet unpleasant encounter: when I said “decaf cappuccino,” the barista responded with a sideways head-tilt, a questioning tone (“decaf? cappuccino?”) and a sigh. I asked if there was a problem, and he said no. The place is clean and in a good spot, but I hope staff can offer more open-minded service to customers who deviate a bit from the norm.

Ugh. This place is SO frustrating. Excellent coffee but you can never count on it to be open at 7am. SO many customers are missed by not consistently being open and ready at 7am. And the guy who opens in the mornings is not friendly.
I ordered a cappuccino from Baruir’s Coffee and it tasted awful. The flavor was off and really unpleasant, honestly one of the worst cappuccinos I’ve had. Very disappointing.
This place was better BEFORE they moved. They USED to make a good ice coffee with coffee ice cubes. Even their hot coffee was nice and strong. Sadly, after they moved, the coffee tasted like urn cleaner. I tried it a few times, thinking it was just re-opening snafu, but I eventually lost hope. They had a free cake with coffee promotion. I tried to get that, but they only had one offering in cake which was too sweet for the morning. They had muffins but they were not part of the "free with coffee" deal. Then they had a sandwich sign announcing bagels. I got one. They asked if I wanted it toasted. ??!! No, you do not toast a fresh bagel. Just butter. 🫨 So, I watched them slather margarine onto my purchase from a clearly labeled "NOT butter" tub before I departed with my frozen and hard bagel. 😕
Coffee is good, I love it. Very poor quality customer service. I buy 5 Lb each week from this place and never a thank you or a smile. Today, I started looking for an other place to buy from because of that clerk behavior and the way I was treated there for 3 months being a client buying 5 LB a week.
Staff is unapproachable. They said the coffee was freshly roasted the same day but it's not. Regardless how many times i tweak my espresso machine it wouldn't pull the right shot. Never experienced this before from a other reputable roaster.
Just showed up. No one was there 7:21. Sign says open at 7am
Always pass by this place and see a fun menu with seasonal drink, first off the staff don’t look like they really know what they’re doing… but I can get behind that if the coffee is great, unfortunately it’s not I ordered a cappuccino and the sad cup of coffee is what I got, and their “seasonal” drinks literally taste worse than Dunkin’ Donuts coffee. Don’t record their drinks but if you buy coffee beans definitely have a big selection.

The coffee I got here (an espresso-based drink) was not good. I doubt the barista steamed the milk. Not sure which beans he used, but it was indistinguishable from a watered down coffee from 7/11 that would have cost 1/2 the price. NOT the drink I ordered at all. Like others, I came to this coffee shop today after passing many times and being curious seeing the coffee roasting machine from the window. The shop itself looks tidy and that machine is a cool gimmick to draw people in. I wish the coffee had been good, because then I would've bought their beans too. Will not come here again. Also, the barista had a bit of an attitude.
