Best asian fusion restaurant in new york city. I don't mind going extra miles to enjoy their food.
The food was absolutely delicious! The place was very clean and beautifully maintained. Excellent service all around—highly recommend!
The hot and sour soup was great – full of bold flavors, the perfect mix of spice and tang, and served nice and warm. Definitely a satisfying start to the meal.
My family and I have been going to this location for years and it never disappoints! Highly recommend for vegetarian options. Our favorites are the veg manchurian, basil tofu, and paneer pakora.
One of my favorite restaurants in the area. Great food, reasonable prices. I've been coming here for years and they never disappoint.
Came here for my dad’s birthday dinner and it was delicious! Chicken lollipops are a must have! We usually order their soups but today it was too hot for soups. Highly recommend any of their sizzling entrees… you can’t go wrong. Great service and spacious seating. Great for family or date dinners
Literately the most delicious Indo-Chinese in the entire world. I’ve been all over and I’ve never found anywhere better than this. They have multiple locations, but this one is great for big parties. And did I mention how delicious the food was?! I’m already drooling just thinking about it!
Tangra Masala is amazing! Delicious, flavorful food with excellent service. Always a top choice for authentic Asian cuisine.
Best Lolipop Chicken on the planet. I am almost begging you guys to please keep the portions consistent. Ownership please give better service. Once a lady owner kept changing the channel during commercials during an important game. Their Service and constant price increases will cause unnecessary challenges to the business. Your Lolipop Chicken was the foundation of your place but instead of keeping prices consistent your loosing customers. You guys were the best 30 years ago and should have grown to a million locations but havent because of poor service and inconsistentcy.
The interior and atmosphere there is great. The service and staff is very friendly and helpful. We ordered the chicken lollipop first and then shrimp fried rice, chicken fried rice, chicken with ginger sauce, sweet and sour chicken and sizzling beef. The sizzling beef takes it all will shrimp fried rice. Overall the food was great so would definitely recommend it to all. Not too spicy even tho they claim that Tangra sauce is spicy. The whole experience was nice so 5 stars for that!!
We absolutely love this place! The food is consistently excellent, and the prices are very reasonable. We've been coming here for years, and we’ve never been disappointed. Some of our favorites include the spicy hot and sour soup, the spicy noodles with shrimp, and many other delicious dishes. The staff are always pleasant and accommodating, and they’re happy to adjust the spice level to suit your preference, whether you want your meal mild or spicy. It's that personalized touch that keeps us coming back time and again. We can’t wait for our next visit!
Beautiful interiors, great family friendly atmosphere, great for dates, friendly and courteous staff, large portions, and very affordable.
Went there over the weekend with a large group of friends after years. The restaurant was clean and tidy + the bathroom was super clean. The food was delicious and had the perfect spice levels to meet the mix preferences in our group. The vegetable pakoras, the chicken pakoras, dry lollipop chicken, veg manchurian noodles, cauliflower Manchurian, Tangra masala noodles were the most popular and super delish! The service was also great — I would suggest that the helpers check in on their guests as we had to call them several times for the simplest things like water/drinks and menus. They were courteous and kind each time. Thank you Tangra Masala team for a great time! Would definitely recommend to others and can’t wait to go back again!
We were seated quickly and the owner Mr Ming was very friendly. The food was great and to our expectations.
Tangra provide Great food with fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and a welcoming environment. I highly recommend to every one 👌
I visited this place with my uncle during my visit to the place I found the environment pleasing with perfect service and smiling faces around... Taste of Food was beyond expectations and the soup was best thing I ever had there. If you like spicy food then ask for the tangra sauce in your dish.
Their food omg u have to tried everything. All the soup items is very delicious. Must must try their monchow soup nd mango lacci. This is best Asian cuisine in town . Chicken Lollipop , sizzling, fried rice, chowmin, Tangra special everything is good .one more thing , when u go there must have cash . Coz when u pay with cash u get 10% discount. So don’t forget to bring cash with you. Thankew . One of my favorite places for lunch & dinner.
Always a great experience when i come in. The food is good and the staff are really friendly.
(5/5 rating) I loveeee this food so much. It always hits the spot !! The chicken Manchurian is def a top with the Singapore noodles. We usually go for a shrimp noodles and/or fried rice. Fried dumplings and wings for apps. &&& you can NEVER forget the paneer ( which whoever doesn’t know it’s basically little squares of fried cheese ) the veggies that come with are kinda spicy ( depends on your tolerance ) but it’s delicious. The mix of these platters is 10/10. Shoutout to my boo for putting me on to the best ! Spot is a big family style restaurant.
food was amazing. chilli chicken crispy and full of flavor. noodles perfect, not too oily. good portions. staff friendly, service quick. small place but real vibe. 5 stars. will be back.
Great experience, went after work from Manhattan. Just a couple of stops from grand central on the 7 line. We had three different types of dumplings they were perfect not spicy at all. We shared about 5 dishes, pineapple rice, Mongolia beef, sesame chicken, Mongolian noodles and sweet and sour chicken. Let's just say we finished it all. Desert was all different flavors of ice cream . Perfect way to end the week. Thank you Aimon for choosing this place. We didn't mind the traveling for good food.
So incredibly good. But let me tell you why: The food: the food is amazing. It’s like nothing I’ve had before, and perfectly prepared. After the first bite of our dishes we could only say WOW. The service: our waitress was really sweet- like she seemed like a genuinely kind and patient person. Also we went last night for my birthday and they play birthday music over the restaurant sound system and come out with THE BEST candle in the world. I want to come back for every birthday now. Safe: this was my first time eating indoors and I felt so safe. Why? Unlike so many nyc restaurants, they actually stopped us and made sure we were vaccinated. And there was PLENTY of space between us snd the next table. It was truly an amazing experience- thanks so much.
If you’re craving real Indo-Chinese, this is the spot. The flavors were on point—spicy, savory, and full of depth. Each bite hit different. From the sauces to the stir-fry, everything was done right. Highly recommend!
I didn't realize they have lunch specials (weekdays from 1-3:30pm) and it's such a great deal. It comes with hot soup and rice.
I’ve been going to Tangra Fusion for over a decade and it never misses. Bold, flavorful Indo-Chinese dishes with generous portions and consistent quality. The chili chicken, paneer and chicken lollipop are must-tries, and the tangra noodles are always on point. Great spot for sharing plates and satisfying comfort food with loved ones.
Been to this place quite a few times and the food has never disappointed. The Tangra noodles are really delicious, and they’ve got a decent selection of drinks too. Service is good. Five stars for Tangra!
We had dinner couple of times in Tangra fusion. As always our whole families enjoy going there because the food is awesome, ambient is excellent, price is very reasonable and service is very good. Very friendly. Wants to go back soon.
Been in tangra has always been wonderful experience. Me and my friends went there for dinner. The server welcomed us with their beautiful smile. We order some appetizers and entrees, appetizers came really fast which impressed us. On top of that, the ambience was really good. I recommend everyone to try their lollipop chicken, hot and sour soup and their fashionable drinks.😊
On behalf of the Himalayan Student Association at Stony Brook University, we want to thank Tangra Asian Fusion for catering our recent campus event for over 100 guests. The food was absolutely incredible, the momos and chowmein were a huge hit with everyone! The catering was ready in time, still warm, and packaged neatly for easy serving. The flavors were authentic, delicious, and consistent across all trays, which is so impressive for a large order. We received so many compliments from attendees about how good the food was. The staff was professional, responsive, and easy to coordinate with. We’ll definitely be ordering from Tangra again for future events, highly recommend them for both quality and service!
I came here recently with friends, and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. The Hakka noodles were perfectly seasoned, the chili chicken had just the right balance of spice and flavor, and the portions were generous. The staff was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and the food came out quickly even though the place was busy. The atmosphere is warm and lively, perfect for a casual night out or a family dinner. Definitely one of my favorite spots for Indo-Chinese food in the city. Highly recommend!
Came all the way from Brooklyn with a few friends, and Tangra Asian Fusion did not disappoint. the chili chicken was spicy and flavorful. Everything tasted fresh and well made. The staff was polite, service was quick, and the vibe of the place was really nice. Totally worth the trip.
Tangera Chinese Food – A Flavorful Experience! The food was fresh, full of flavor, and perfectly cooked. Every dish had just the right balance of spice and taste. Their fried rice, noodles, and sauces were amazing—tasted just like authentic Chinese street food! The portion size was generous and the quality was consistent. Definitely worth trying again. Highly recommended for anyone who loves bold and tasty Chinese meals!
Had a large party here (courtesy of my lovely friend Salima) and the food was delicious! The sizzling momo’s were definitely my favorite and the vegetable Manchurian! It was suuuch a lovely fusion of food and the waitstaff was simply adorable. I found out that they were actually a family! The service was attentive and we were met with great smiles! One of them made a joke that she’d have to share tips with me since I was helping with the plates haha. Their pepper shrimp was incredible, and I brought home incredibly tasty leftovers! Love Tangra!
Excellent Indo - Chinese food at very reasonable prices. The taste was exactly like dishes prepared back home in India. Food was hot and fresh. Service was quick considering the restaurant was packed with large groups of diners. Definitely a must try. We drove from Long Island to get to this restaurant and will definitely do so again.
Total foodie experience delight with mouth watering flavorful zests. Service is top notch and they continue to deliver excellence. Never a day we felt they compromised on the service or food quality while keeping it Halal. Bring proof of vaccination and enjoy the best this place has to offer by coming hungry and leaving with a huge smile and a possible food coma 👏🏻 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
The food here is delicious but the portions are very small for the amount of money they charge. We were a group of about 15 people that visited them for dinner. Instead of appreciating our business the waitress kept on harassing us to order food. We kept on telling her that we were waiting for other people to join us but she kept on harassing us to order appetizers at least. After we were done eating, they kept on staring at us so that we could leave the restaurant. They need to change their cutlery, we were served drinks on chipped glasses.
There was a lot of different kind of food. There were rice, noodles, drinks( like lassi, soda, milkshakes, wine or cocktail and ect) and many side dishes to go with it(chicken, pork, beef and lots of seafood options too). There are appetizers, special lunches and dessert (like lava cake with ice cream).I think it's mostly Asian and American food mix.
100% Halal! I’ve been to Tangra multiple times and I have to say their food was very delicious in the beginning, it’s still good but not as great as it used to be. We had the chicken lollipop, masala fries, the dumplings and the vegetable momo which were delicious. For the entrees we had the pad Thai noodles and the chicken curry sauce that were just okay. The servers were great and the restaurant was clean. I would def recommend to try it out if you’re in the neighborhood.
Halal Chinese food restaurant. If you are into spicy fusion Chinese food this is the place to go. Food is good and service fast. The lollipop chicken is tasty and the sizzling Manchurian dishes are served at the perfect temperature. Lots of options to customize the soups, noodles and rice with eggs, choices of meat and seafood. Great place to bring large groups.
If you’re a Indo-Chinese Lover, you’re on a right spot!! Awesome food (authentic indo-Chinese taste), fantastic atmosphere (makes you feel like you’re in good hands), & great customer service. The only star missing was due to distracted service, as the restaurant was busy due to a private group booking (birthday party) so our server missed couple of items and we had to nudge for those. There’s no reason to not go there! The food that I ordered was - Veg Manchaow Soup - Awesome taste, liked it so much that had 2 ☺️ Veg Hot and Sour and Corn Soup were good too! Veggie Pakoras - They reminded me of fried manchurians from the streets of Mumbai. They also come with a special sauce which makes the pakoras yummier! Paneer fried Wantons - They were okay, as the filling was tooo less making these slightly bland. (Just try dipping these 2 appetizers in Manchaow Soup - makes them tastier…) Tangra Chow Mein - Spice level to the point! Very good taste! Tangra Fried Rice - More like Schezwan Fried Rice - Perfect combo with manchurian. Veggie Manchurian Gravy - Awesome dish, must try! Reminded me of Mumbai Indo-Chinese Cuisine. Pad Thai Noodles - Not my favourite- but if you like sweeter side taste, this is your dish!
Overall it's a pretty good restaurant. The food is good, but not something to boast about. The atmosphere is pretty nice, with a nice upscale feel. The staff was nice but seemed preoccupied with other things. When I arrived there I was waiting for about 10mins to be given a menu, only to find out that it was digital and I had to scan the QR. The food takes pretty long to come, so a lot of time is spent just waiting.
Their chicken lollipops, tiger prawn sizzling with gravy & shrimp pakora are highly recommended. Soups were also good.. I will recommend to avoid ordering the wings, they are below average. Place was huge , great for family gatherings. Also it was clean & service was quick. For parking u have to pay & it’s hard to find as nearby places are residential.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had an amazing dining experience at Tangra Asian Fusion in Sunnyside, Queens! The blend of Indian and Chinese flavors was truly unique and incredibly flavorful. Each dish was prepared with such care and had the perfect balance of spices. I tried their Pokora, Shrimp balls, Lollipop chicken, lo meinand Fried rice—all were absolutely delicious! The ambiance is cozy and welcoming, ideal for both a casual meal or a night out with friends. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, making sure we had everything we needed. Prices are reasonable for the quality and portions, making it great value. If you’re looking for authentic, bold, and mouth-watering Indo-Chinese cuisine, Tangra is a must-visit. Can’t wait to go back!
This is a wonderful Desi Chinese fusion restaurant in the heart of Queens. The, fried rice, general tso's chicken, and corn soup, were all absolutely delicious. I really enjoyed the food. However, the service could definitely be improved upon. We had multiple different waitors at our table, this led to some confusion with what we had ordered, as they accidentally brought us a different soup and asked us which waitor took our order to which we did not know the name. Also, I had to go to the desk to ask for a waitor to take our order and also for to go boxes. If they can improve upon their service, they would definitely be 5 stars in my book.
Food is yummy.. I found it spicy but for an average Indian it's good. The lolipop is avg. Fried rice with Manchurian is great. Fish chilli is amazing! Please be careful with women washroom it gets locked from inside.
There was a piece of hair in our food and the waitress blames it on us first… my entire family covers their hair except for my dad and uncles. Their hair is wavy, the piece of hair on my chicken was curly. That’s a health code violation. I understand mistakes can happen but why are you blaming us first?! Also the food was so bad it created stomach pains for me. The lollipop chicken was so good but everything else was below average. For food that wasn’t even that good I doubt anyone would plant their hair there to get free food.
Not a bad place to get some Indo Chinese. Menu could be laid out better, waiter had an attitude. Food was good, however flavors were "different" ex chiken manchurian did not taste like chicken manchurian. Little pricy for what was served, quantities were decent could be better. Dont get the soup it was bad.
Good HALAL infusion cuisin ,We've been there several times, the worst thing that we tried 2 times was mix fried rice the meat inside was not fresh, it was more like leftovers and it was smelly . Other things were delicious , wait staff can be more friendly and professional. If you ask the entrees without gravy you would notice that the real portions are very small for the price.
Taste : 10/10 Food : 10/10 Quantity : 10/10 Place: 10/10 ( fancy place , you can take some picture ) nice Service: 1 / 10 Despite the food being good the lady server has no sense of respect . The problem is service charge, they didn’t add service charge on the check that they give it to us, but you have to pay the service fee. when you give them money they ask for tips which is you have to give them . My question is why then you guys don’t add service fee with payment check ? The bill is 42 dollars and I gave them 45 dollars the girl ran came in front for us and tell you have to pay minimum 15% that means 50 dollars. Why you don’t add to check ? Seriously?
The decor give you old school upper class new York vibes. Very beautiful decor. But the food wasn't all that great. My group had chicken friend rice, beef fried rice, shrimp fried rice, chicken sizzling, beef sizzling, fish sizzling, Thai soup, and chicken lollipop. The food was fairly tasteless for such a high end restaurant. The food is not really shareable, just meant for single person. Staff were not rude but not very friendly either because we came an hour before closing. It's pretty but I would not come back here again.
They gave us chicken soup, when we clearly asked for vegetarian. Than they forgot to take our order for entree’s. After waiting 40 minutes someone came to take the order. They forget the rice with sizzlers. After we finished the meal we wanted to order the desserts but no one came by for 30 minutes. After requesting for the check from one of the pass by waitresses. They bought check with 20 service charges included. Why they forced charge us for tip for only 4 of us. And provide such a low service. I’m highly disappointed and will never go back. Forgot to mention. Waiter also bought wrong drink for my son
terrible delivery service. ordered the lunch special and received old stale chicken that tasted like it had been microwaved. thai iced tea was straight up milk.
We visited twice we had a bad experience in this restaurant with waiters they are very disrespectful very very disrespectful I do not recommend this restaurant including manager and all staff is so bad bad bad bad
Despite the food being good the lady server has no sense of respect and the audacity to make fun of customers name. Never coming back again. Horrible customer service.
Today was my special day for us. They ( ishika) ruined our dinner .My only one son’s birthday. I always go to Tangra any occasion. I live 40 th street other side of Tangra. Today I have worst experience. My fried rice, noodles was salty . When I make complaint about it she tries to change it with her attitude.she was taking to my husband so badly manners. This not the costume service . And she charged me more. We pay all the service which one we receive nothing free. We should not expect this kind stupid service in this location. In the future if I saw her I will change my mind to go there.
Lousy food. Ordered chilli chicken and got chicken pieces in gravy. When asked the waiter why chilli chicken is like this, his reply was really hillarious. He said that since chilli chicken quantity would be very less that is why the make it with gravy so that it is more in quantity. Go there if you want to waste your money. A picture of chilli chicken is posted to show how theor chilly chicken looks like.
Pay attention to the negative reviews everyone! Me, my friends and family all have had enough of this place and their inconsistency! Few months ago I ordered food to go costing me hundreds of dollars. I went home and disappointed my whole family as the food was extremely bland with no flavor or salt. Recently I went with my wife and ordered a few dishes to dine in and again the food was extremely bland with no flavor or salt. I told the manager named "Ming" the food is bland and he told me why don't I go to the kitchen and make the food myself? I will take your advice Mr. Ming but cook it in my own kitchen. Shame on you for not taking accountability. People like you should not be the face of a resturant or be a manager dealing with customers. You are rude and not fit for the position. Maybe I should have spoken to your wife who is a much nicer individual with respect for customers. I left a good tip for the food/service I got but Ming made a big deal because my tip did not equate to 18% on the dot. Buddy your employee told me you pay unfairly, if you want a spot on 18% tip just make it mandatory for customers from the start! Shame on you Ming! You add a negative value to this restaurant.
They said they are halal however they are not halal. They did not show us any prove about the halal certification
I was very disappointed to see a $60 service charge added to my bill at Tangra without any clear explanation upfront. This fee was excessive and not properly disclosed before ordering. Hidden charges like this leave a bad impression and feel unfair to customers.
If I could give this place 0 or negative I would. The servers last night 4-13-23 was extremely Rude and gave us an attitude like they were offering free food. First they did not even offered us water which is the first thing every restaurant offers. I had to ask water when the main course was served. The manager needs to fix their bad behavior. I asked one of the server to please change this broken glass my son can get hurt and she brings the new glass and just banged on the table. I mean it's a broken glass and just change it. We go to a restaurant to relax and enjoy a meal not for such bad experiences. Those 2 servers really had some issues. Please learn to be kind and humble. you don't know if someone is going through a tough time. but being kind is the best thing you have have. God bless the 2 girls they need to be loved.
I have been to this restaurant many times in the past but today was my worst experience. I noticed from my last visits that quality was degrading but today was the worst. Hassel to get extra bowls, food was served without drinks even though we placed the order with food. After the food nobody came to give us a check. When we ask for check no one bothered to collect the check. Today was the first time I felt taking 18% service charge is not fair on customers who do not get a good service.
We are eating at this restaurant from more than 10 years and I also have a bill from last month and even in the last month they did not charge for service as my husband and me always come together and leave a good tip. Not sure why they have started and made the service charge mandatory which is not fair to the customer as for a tip you are not giving the customer the choice to choose their tip. This one star is for the 18% service charge they mandatorily add to the bill for 2 people. No complains for the food it is always great but this mandatory service charge is unacceptable!!!
The worst and below worst place i have ever visited. I had a very unpleasant experience at this restaurant because of the server. From the start, she were rude, dismissive, and completely uninterested in helping. When I asked questions about the menu, she rolled their eyes and responded impatiently. Even simple requests, like asking for water or extra napkins, were met with attitude. The behavior made the whole dining experience uncomfortable and frustrating. Food was good but the lady server messed our mood so badly. I do not recommend visiting this place if you expect polite, professional service. Never coming back again.
We have visited this restaurant many times and usually enjoy the food and atmosphere. However, during our last visit the food quality did not feel up to the usual standard, and my children unfortunately experienced some stomach discomfort afterward. It was disappointing since we normally have such positive experiences here. We truly hope this was just an off day, as we would like to continue dining here and enjoying the restaurant at its best.
