This guy was great! We got the family combo for 8 people, he took the orders, served, and cleaned it all up very quickly. This was at 6 PM for dinner. Parking can be tight but there are meters on Main St. Food was great and service was amazing. Will be back again!

Really good quality and tasty food The chicken is so juicy, and the meat is so soft, really food gor friends, and family gathering We have been going to this location for years , and all Bakhtar locations are so good as well I tried fresh meadow, and it is good .. and the long island location is also good, but this is my favorite ♥️

Big Fan of this Bakhtar location for years now, great food, great service & great atmosphere as well! We did iftar here and they gave everyone complimentary dates, ro afza & chai. Thank you! We got number 6 platter,chicken tikka and chicken kofta which is our favorite also we got the fries. Everything was delicious like always. The price is also very reasonable. Thank you so much Mr. Sadiqullah and Mr. Umer baig for always taking great care of us!

Excellent service and food, taste is amazing,and authentic, there is no twist 👍👍 One thing I can't stand is to show up at an ethnic restaurant and see some other culture or Race making the food 🤷🤷🤷sure it happens alot, does it taste the same absolutely not. Definitely visit this place

Great food, very nice presentation. And most importantly the food tastes great. Only item will need to be worked on will be rice (Rice have no flavor), but it works when all mixed with sauce.

I came here with high expectations as the place is quite famous for Afghan food. We ordered one of the family combos. The food simply wasn't up to par with some other restaurants although it was cheaper. They put very little carrots and raisins, the rice was kinda stale and reheated. Same for the kebabs they just didn't taste fresh. Might give another chance someday.

We had Afghan food from here before, and it was better other times. Today, the food wasn’t as great—the lamb, which we swapped for beef, had an odd taste. The chicken was more appetizing, so we ended up eating that instead. For the price, we expected the food to be better and more flavorful.

As for the food, it was a bit of a letdown. The dishes we ordered lacked the flavor. It wasn’t bad, but it certainly didn’t have that wow factor my parents remembered from their previous visit. Given the restaurant’s reputation and the amount of traffic they were getting, I hoped for more consistency in the quality of food.

The soul of the food feels lost—what used to taste distinctly Afghan now comes across like a Pakistani-style interpretation that misses the depth, aroma, and balance we loved. - Lamb has been swapped out for beef in dishes where lamb used to shine. - The pilau is now made with regular brown rice, losing that signature fragrance and texture. - On our recent visits, not a single person in my family enjoyed their meal. I hate leaving a low rating, but I’m genuinely disappointed. Please bring back the original recipes, proper ingredients, and the bold, authentic Afghan flavors that made this place special. We want to love it again.

I had a very disappointing experience at this location due to the behavior of one employee. Unfortunately, I do not know his name. My family and I arrived around 10:05 PM after calling ahead to confirm the last order time was 10:15 PM. We also had a reservation. We drove an hour and 20 minutes with a group of seven people, looking forward to dining here. When we arrived, there were no greetings or welcomes—only an abrupt statement from the employee that they were no longer taking customers. We tried to explain that we had a reservation and had confirmed the timing over the phone, but he repeatedly walked away from us without listening. What shocked us most was that he used extremely inappropriate and offensive language toward my family, including calling us names and making threats. This is completely unacceptable behavior for any customer-facing role, especially in the restaurant industry. I also work in a restaurant, and I know that even in stressful moments, staff should remain polite and professional. I have visited other locations of this restaurant regularly and always had good experiences, which is why I was excited to bring my family here for the first time. Sadly, this visit left us feeling disrespected and unwelcome. I strongly recommend that management review the security footage from that evening and address the conduct of this employee to ensure future guests are treated with courtesy and professionalism.

So apparently they charged about 22% tax. My food was $10.99 and the total came to $13.44. I asked why, and they said it was tax. But NYC tax is only 8.875%, so it definitely wasn’t just tax — it looks more like around 22%.

This is horrible. i paid 33 dollars for a beef and chicken tikka over rice and a chicken kabob with tikka over salad. First of all, The portions were horrible, 4 lil small pieces of chicken and beef over a lil bit of rice for $16?!?!? that was completely outrageous and dont even get me started on the chicken over salad one. The chicken also lacked in flavor, not at all like the other bakhtar i visited. This location is horrible and its safe to say i wont be back. Even with that 20% off student discount its still a scam. Better off buying 3 shahs platters

The worst chicken Kabab and rice I've ever ate. The chicken tasted like old grease and rice, I'm still trying to figure that one out. Everything tastes stale, greasy, old and lack seasoning. Sorry, I don't leave reviews but but your food was that horrible. The rest, I'm throwing away in the garbage.

I came and purchase a mixed tray for 8 people when I came home opened the salad tray I seen a dead roach 🪳inside the tomato this very disgusting and very unprofessional from the owner itself not to check after his employees this is a very serious matter I tried reaching out many many times and they kept telling me the manager is busy they’re customer service is very very low
