A Culinary Journey at Tamasha If you're looking for a place where traditional Indian flavors are elevated to new heights, look no further than Tamasha. Every dish here is a testament to the genius of Chef Bhavin Chhatwani, whose expert touch transforms Indian cuisine into an art form. Start with the Chaat Mate — an explosion of flavors that perfectly captures the essence of street food while maintaining an air of sophistication. The balance of spices and textures is nothing short of amazing. Then, the Dal e Tamasha — a silky, buttery dal that’s rich, comforting, and almost decadent. It’s a perfect blend of tradition and luxury that you won’t easily forget. No meal is complete without trying their Butter Chicken, which is cooked to perfection. The creamy, luscious sauce envelops tender chicken in a way that feels both indulgent and authentic. For dessert, you absolutely must try their Made from Scratch Gelato Ice Cream. Creamy, flavorful, and an excellent end to an already stellar meal. What truly sets Tamasha apart, though, is the visionary Chef Bhavin Chhatwani. His attention to detail, dedication to perfection, and ability to combine the diverse flavors of India in innovative ways have truly modernized the Indian food scene. Every dish tells a story, and Chef Bhavin’s culinary brilliance shines through in every bite. A must-visit for anyone who appreciates Indian cuisine with a contemporary twist!
We finally checked this spot out for a birthday meal. We made a reservation for patio seating and our server, Dane, took great care of us. Obviously, a little pricey and it is not your standard Indian dishes, but if you are open-minded and willing to try things, you will enjoy.
I have nothing but good things to say about Tamasha. First, the service was incredible - we were treated with so much care and kindness. It was a special night for us, and the Tamasha team made it even more special with Prosecco and thoughtful “check-ins” throughout the meal. The food? Amazing!!! Modern Indian is a great description - no traditional dishes, but the same wonderful flavors and ingredients from Indian cuisine. We got one plate from each section of the menu, and it was plenty of food for 2 people to share. All dishes were rich, but not spicy like Indian food usually is - just FYI. We can’t wait to go back!
This review won’t do the food or restaurant justice by any means! Seriously there is a reason why it’s a Michelin-Recognized restaurant! It’s absolutely beautiful in every essence. The food is spectacular, I never really tried Indian but I have become a huge fan! It’s light, the portions are perfect along with the taste and flavor combos. You can tell the chef really cares about this place, and the staff is wonderful and super knowledgeable! It’s upscale, but I find it actually pretty practical price wise for a special occasion. I think it’s has a very welcoming environment and would def recommend!
Absolutely perfect dinner. Gorgeous restaurant, kind staff, and delicious food. Every detail of the food was well thought through, down to the detail of the scent of rosemary in my delicious bourbon cocktail. We took our waiter, Orlando’s, recommendations for the most part, and trusted him for the wine pairings for dinner and dessert. Everything went together perfectly. Chef Chhatwani came out to welcome us and a few other diners; his smile alone showed how much he enjoys his work and his art. And all of this was done with a casual Raleigh style that lacks the pretentiousness you see in other restaurants of this caliber. Definitely will be back!
If you’re looking for a top tier-dining experience, look no further! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is warm, inviting, and beautifully composed. Mariah greeted us with a warm smile and kindly hung up my coat. Our server Marco was personable, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu and ingredients which made picking our dishes so easy. We got the Okra Chaat, Tandoori Mushroom small plate and split the Butter Chicken entree. Each dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We were truly blown away and wanted to savor every bite! As if the incredible meal wasn’t enough, the restaurant made our anniversary even more special by surprising us with a scoop of their mango sorbet. Our expectations were absolutely exceeded and we’ll definitely be coming back for future celebrations. Thank you for making our night so memorable!
The food, service, and atmosphere were great - I appreciated the artistic take on Indian food. The flavors and presentation were excellent. I particularly enjoyed the Kheema Kaleji and Dal-E-Tamasha paired with garlic naan, but everything we tried was delicious. Definitely recommend a try! Two minor critiques - the garlic naan we ordered came out with our entrees, but would have been nice to have earlier to enjoy with some of the delicious small plates (e.g. Tandoori Mushroom). We also would have enjoyed a higher spice level option for some dishes. We requested the spiciest Dum Ki Nalli Gosht and felt it was a medium spice level. Next time we visit, we'll request the naan early and will ask if there's an extra-extra-spicy option available!
This isn't just the best Indian restaurant in Raleigh -- it's the best restaurant in Raleigh, period (and I've been to many places). Everything here is absolutely on point. The atmosphere is beautiful; upscale vibe with a dress code, fun interior decor, good music. The service is outstanding; we were personally greeted by the manager, the chef .. SO kind and welcoming. And the food (which is the best part of all) is truly top tier. The flavors in these dishes were masterfully crafted, so it isn't any surprise that the executive chef was a James Beard semifinalist. I really can't speak highly enough of the whole experience -- if you enjoy Indian food, this place is a must-try.
I have been wanting to dine at Tamasha Modern Indian for sometime. Finally had the opportunity and to be honest, I did not really know what to expect other than a delicious meal. The items I ordered blew me away. I can honestly say that Tamasha is definitely one the best restaurants in Raleigh. If you are looking for traditional Indian cuisine, I would stick with Bazil or Azitra. But if you are looking for an incredible dining experience with an Indian twist, you need to check Tamasha Mosern Indian out. Excellent experience on par with Ajja. Can’t wait to take my son from DC on his next visit.
Gorgeous restaurant, phenomenal food, excellent service! The care and attention to detail are obvious for every dish that Chef Bhavin Chhatwani and his staff dedicate to each presentation. Thank you to Marco and the rest of the staff who took wonderful care of us. Chef and his team prepare everything in-house and combine delicious spice blends with smooth and delicious textures to produce culinary bliss. These were the best versions of every Indian dish I have ever enjoyed! Chef brilliantly combines more modern elements and locally available ingredients with classic flavors. Michelin 2025 is without a doubt in everything we had! So much to choose from that we will have to come back to try something different each time. We enjoyed the following dishes: Okra Chaat, fried oysters, tandoori mushrooms, Butter Chicken, Lamb Dum Ki Nalli Gosht, Dakhni SAAG with paneer, a lentil stew, a chicken biryani dish, and of course naan and yogurt to sop up or refresh the palette for more mouthfuls of yummy! These dishes are the perfect blend of spices without being too spicy or salty - a mark of truly excellent cuisine! We also enjoyed some exciting wines and cocktails in gorgeous glassware, with some delicious non-alcoholic options, which perfectly accompanied our dishes. We also had phenomenal desserts: Lavender Kulfi Falooda, Ube and Purple Sweet Potato Gelato, and the Chocolate Affair. So delicious. Thank you to everyone at Tamasha who worked hard and delivered perfection! Raleigh is so lucky to have you!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Tamasha – Chapel Hill Tamasha is an absolute revelation in Chapel Hill — the kind of restaurant that doesn’t just serve food, but tells a story with every course. From the moment we sat down, we knew we were in for something special, but the evening still managed to exceed every expectation. Chef Mihir personally came out to our table, walked us through his culinary philosophy, and shared the inspiration behind the dishes. That level of care is rare, and you can taste it in every bite. He even surprised us with a few complimentary creations so we could experience the full range of his menu — each one more impressive than the last. The craft cocktails? Immaculate. Beautifully balanced, inventive without being gimmicky, and easily some of the best in the area. The appetizers? Bursting with layered flavors and plated like artwork. The entrées and desserts? World-class — no exaggeration. The kind of flavors that stop conversation for a second because everyone’s too busy appreciating what’s happening on the plate. Tamasha isn’t just “good for Chapel Hill.” It’s good by any global standard. Exceptional, thoughtful hospitality, and culinary execution that rivals top restaurants anywhere. This is a must-visit, and we’ll be coming back again!
Wonderful experience all around. Highly recommend. Excellent, unique cleaning of carrying types of Indian by an amazing chef. Tremendous service. Excellent cocktails and mocktails. Good wine and beer options. Beautiful presentation and atmosphere. We will be back! (Great gluten free options and recommendations by staff.)
Just went to Tamasha for dinner for the second time. First time we were there was on the opening night and they were busy and food was amazing but considering it was the first night, we expected the service to be above and beyond. We were there again tonight and the service excelled more than our first time there. Sam and Sammy the bar team crew were exceptional!! We’ll always sit at the bar just because of them. The food, better than we had experienced first time which was great. The saag entree **chefs kiss***, the daal - we may have to do a takeout of just the daal! Just really well made dishes. The desserts are usually a no no for us at the restaurant but we were convinced by the creative dessert menu so we tried the Ghewar dish which was amazing, takes you back home but still elevated at the same time. The chef, Bhavin had come to check in on us and such an awesome talent to have in our backyard and lucky to have eaten his meals. He’s definitely elevating and has elevated the (Indian) food scene on the north east belt. We were greeted by the owner multiple times and considering they’re an established restaurant now compared to two years ago, it was awesome to see them at service on a 5:30 pm dinner rush. Kudos to the team here! We’ll be back soon for another memorable meal
Amazing experience. Staff were knowledgeable and very attentive. Food had the perfect amount of spice and variety. The ambiance of the restaurant just made you feel like you traveled to a whole new place but was also so cozy and welcoming. Loved it all. Thank you!! Madelyne was one of the best servers we’ve had!!
10’s across the board!!! I want to thank our waiter Orlando for his exceptional service! He was attentive, kind and so helpful. I treated my husband to dinner for his birthday before we went to a concert and this was an amazing start to our perfect night. We absolutely loved everything on the menu. Orlando took his time to explain each dish and his personal recommendations. The atmosphere at Tamasha was amazing. The chef came out to make sure everything was to our liking and we appreciated that as well! (His name is Meer and he was so pleasant) Not only is the food delicious but we really loved the music and the vibe also. Thank you to the whole team at Tamasha. Everyone was so nice and you can tell they love what they do. We can’t wait to come back! Highly recommend!!!
From the moment we slipped through the doors, we were welcomed with a warm, knowing smile—the kind that instantly makes you feel like you’re exactly where you’re meant to be. Even though we were fashionably late for our reservation, the staff seamlessly accommodated us, guiding us to the bar with effortless charm. And the bartenders—mixologists, really—were nothing short of mesmerizing. Each cocktail arrived like a work of art: vibrant, fragrant, and seductively layered with flavor. I could have indulged in every single one on the menu without hesitation. Every staff member we passed offered a smile, a greeting, a moment of genuine connection that made the entire space feel inviting and intimate. When we found ourselves unsure of what to order, our server stepped in with confidence, painting vivid descriptions of each dish and sharing her personal favorites. The food arrived quickly, bursting with fresh, bold flavors that lingered in all the right ways. The vibes inside the restaurant? Absolutely magnetic. A soft, relaxed energy wrapped around us, making it the perfect setting for an unforgettable date night. The ambiance was warm, sensual, and beautifully curated. We left so grateful to have discovered this delicious, deeply enjoyable restaurant—a place that doesn’t just serve food, but an experience worth savoring.
I am usually skeptical about getting good Indian food in fancy restaurants. But this place proved me wrong. One of the best Indian foods I have had in recent years. Had Kozhi Vepudu for appetizers and it was perfect balance of ingredients. Our son loved crab moilee. Soft shell crab in mango, coconut and chilli curry. Butter chicken was awesome. Flavorful curry with tender chicken pieces. Briyani was probably the best. Desserts were amazing too. Chocolate affair and mango basil sorbet were perfect ending to an amazing dinner. Parking was easy. Staff was courteous. Overall service was amazing. Attention to details in every aspect.
My family and I had a top notch experience at Tamasha. My parents had already been in about a month prior to us dining there together. Everyone remembered them and gave them a warm welcome. Our server, Sammy, was so sweet and excited to meet me as their daughter. We were also greeted personally by the general manager and owner of the restaurant. Making sure we were taken care of the whole meal. The food was also a wonderful experience with rich flavors and unique style. I plan to bring my friends to Tamasha anytime I am in the Raleigh area. We appreciate the atmosphere, yummy food and friendly service. Thank you all for a wonderful experience
I’ll be honest when we first sat down, the service was a bit slow and I started to get a little frustrated. (I was hungry 🙊🙈) But what happened next completely turned the experience around. Our waiter, the manager, and even the owner all went above and beyond to make things right. Their attention, sincerity, and professionalism were incredible. The level of care and personal touch is something you rarely see these days. Once the food arrived, everything was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. We had the TFC, the pork belly, lamb and butter chicken. What started as a rocky beginning turned into one of the most memorable dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. Huge thanks to the entire team you’ve definitely earned a loyal customer. Thank you for making my birthday an amazing one.
Dynamic flavors meets exceptional service is what this restaurant is all about! The lentil dal, pork belly boa and the slow roasted lamb truly stole the show for me. Our server Dane was soo knowledgeable and the executive chef stoping by our table was so special. It’s an elevated Indian experience that isn’t to be missed.
Tamasha was an excellent dining experience with my colleagues. Our server Dane was top tier and provided us with an amazing service experience and recommendations for food we should try since it was our first time. Everything from the alcoholic to “counterfeit” (non-alcoholic) drinks were tasty, appetizers to the main course meals were crafted beautifully for our table. The dessert spread was excellent as well! The owner Mike kindly stopped by to ensure our dining experience was fulfilled and we look forward to returning back to this restaurant in the future! P.s. the music vibes were also on point!
Words can't capture how awesome our dining experience was. We had been so excited to try Tamasha and it lived up to its reputation. The restaurant is beautiful. The service is first class. And the real star is the food which is incredible. Tasty, flavorful......it is truly a premier place in the triangle. Excellent all around
I can confidently say… Tamasha is now one of my favorite restaurants in Raleigh and literally the best Indian food I’ve ever had. From the moment we walked in… we knew that a special experience was coming. The decor is elegant and unique without being pretentious. Overall design clearly aligns with Tamasha’s name, which means “grand performance.” Had the privilege to meet and even get to know the owners, Mike and Tina, while learning about their incredible story or vision. Chatting with their team added to the warmth of the experience. You can tell this is a deeply personal venture for them — Mike’s vision, Tina’s design passion, and the culinary expertise of Chef Bhavin Chhatwani all come together for a grand performance for sure. Now for the food… literally every plate we tried was a delight. Their butter chicken deserves a special call-out — creamy, deeply flavored, but balanced and not heavy. Service was something you’d expect from a high end steakhouse or fine dining establishment. The staff clearly knows their menu and took the time to explain ingredients, point out vegetarian or gluten-free options, and make thoughtful recommendations. We felt well cared for without ever feeling rushed. If you’re looking for an Indian dining experience that blends artistic presentation, bold and inventive flavors, and genuine hospitality — Tamasha most certainly delivers. Whether it’s a special occasion or just a night out with friends, I’ll be returning very soon and highly recommend.
We came here to celebrate our anniversary, and it was honestly one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. From the moment we walked in, everyone made us feel so special. Our server, Daine, was amazing—so attentive and kind—and Sammie went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. The chef even came out to talk to us, which made the night feel extra personal. The food was absolutely incredible, but the service and hospitality were what truly made this place unforgettable. We left feeling so cared for and can’t wait to come back!
An exceptional fine dining experience from start to finish! The staff was warm, attentive, and truly elevated the evening. The dishes were absolutely delicious, with every bite bursting with flavor. The chef personally came out to see if everything was to our expectation and thoughtfully shared details on the dishes. A memorable evening of impeccable service and extraordinary food. Highly recommend!
Wow! Beautiful experience from start to finish. The staff is perfectly attentive while also leaving you to dine in peace. The executive chef stopped by our table and when we complimented his skills as comparable to Dishoom in London (iykyk), he brought us a taste of black lentils. The flavors are exquisite and layer upon layer as each different spoonful hits your taste buds. Truly the best experience and best food.
Tamasha was the best Indian food that I've ever had. I've been to several famous Indian restaurant in NYC. I enjoyed them all, but Tamasha is even better than all of those. First of all, the foods were absolutely delicious. We ordered KHEEMA KALEJI (minced lamb and liver, covered by crispy potato and parmesan mousse). This was my favorite of the night. It combines the tradition and the creation. We also ordered BYADGI CHILLI SHRIMPS and BUTTER CHICKEN. Both of them were great as well. I could taste the freshness of the chicken, of the shrimp, and of the spices. We also enjoyed the dessert very much. We ordered North meets south. The sweetness goes perfect with the coconut flavor. Secondly, the service and the vibe were great as well. Both the chef and the owner came to our table to talk to us. They seemed pretty nice and humble. They were asking about our experience. I felt like they were not only following a protocol to ask very standardized questions. I think they were actually listening to people's opinions try to make the guests happy. My husband told the owner that he liked everything, but only one suggestion - since Indian foods are usually spicy, so if they could add Lassi to the drink menu, that'll be great, as it a very traditional Indian drink and could help to mitigate the spiciness. They owner said "sure, we will definitely work on it for the future menu. Thank you for the advice." And then he made us two glasses of Mango Lassi right away! We were so surprised. Last but not least, the decorations were very beautiful. I love it! However, the only small part that I didn't enjoy much was that our server was a little bit rushy - his attitude was nice though, but he checked on us too frequently to see if we finished, and even asked us if we wanted to look at the dessert menu while we were still in the middle of eating the main course. Other than this, everything was perfect!
Gorgeous inside and an opulent dining experience throughout. Outstanding service by Marco and so many others. The dishes are almost too beautiful to eat but the flavors are off the charts - not a single dish disappointed. Drinks were equally as pretty and unique, and tasted amazing. Even was visited by the Executive Chef twice and the Owner once to our table to see how we enjoyed everything - so kind. If there was an option for 10 stars, I would give it. Truly a gem!
Excellent entrées (vegetarian) and service, as would be expected from a Michelin star restaurant. Valet parking is very convenient. Good ambiance. The staff offered complimentary drinks and cake when they realized my son and daughter-in-law were celebrating their birthdays. Nice touch.
I had the most incredible experience at Tamasha Modern Indian tonight. I love food that nourishes my body while still being full of flavor, and this delivered in every way. The entire staff was warm and friendly, and Porsche, my waitress, was amazing. I was looking at the mushroom dish and, since it was my first visit, asked for her recommendations. She suggested adding truffles — which was perfect. When I can’t help but do a little happy dance, I know it’s something special. I trusted Porsches recommendation on my drink and dessert, both were phenomenal. The chef came out twice to speak with me, and you can tell immediately that he loves what he does. He cares about the food, the story, and the ingredients in a way that’s rare to see, and it shows in every bite. Between the atmosphere, the staff, and the food, I can’t wait to bring my family back very soon 💚
I visited the North Hills location for the first time last night and was very impressed. From the moment we arrived, the staff greeted us warmly and made us feel welcome. Shortly after we were seated, the owner personally came over to introduce himself, which was a thoughtful touch and greatly appreciated. The food was excellent—my butter chicken was especially flavorful and well-prepared. While the drinks could have been better, the overall dining experience was very enjoyable, and I left highly satisfied.
Dined at the bar on 9/23/25. Let me say the ambiance is great. The owner chatted be up and was sooo nice. What was even better was the level of respect for his team. I could tell he cared about them and they cared about me. Two bar tenders both were very attentive and we chatted about bourbon. It was nice to see a good selection of bourbon especially my fav eagle rare. At one point the chef came out and he told me about my dinner and he was sooo nice. The food was excellent. I ordered a reminded dish and I enjoyed it! The desert was an also recommended and a blend of north and south India and it was awesome! The level of attentiveness and friendliness was out of this world. I’m moving here from Kentucky and it reminded me of home. I can’t stress how great of a place this and I will be back. 5 star everything. 5 star service! 5 star owner! Just good people at a great location and beautiful restaurant. Go there now!!!! Your new friend and now future guest Jonathan Baalke :)
My wife and I are self-proclaimed foodies and have been to our share of acclaimed/Michelin-rated restaurants, including a recent trip to London just 3 weeks prior to coming here. That being said—Tamasha was better than a lot of restaurants we’ve eaten at in San Francisco, New York City, Miami, Chicago and even London! If and when the Michelin guide reviews Raleigh restaurants, this place will get its due star(s). You can book it. We had excellent service from our server Orlando. He was very knowledgeable of the menu and gave us perfect drink and food recommendations. Chef Bhavin, who previously worked at a 2 Michelin star restaurant in SF, stopped by our table and others to chat a few times through the night, sharing his background, telling us about the inspirations for his dishes and just overall making us feel welcome. The cocktails were stellar. Drinks-wise, we ordered the Khushi, Desi Diablo, Twin Flames and Cardamom Sweater. They were all very balanced drinks, each with their unique tastes and blends of flavors and not overly sweet. The food was absolutely amazing. We could not stop saying how tasty and flavorful every single dish was. We ordered Dahi Ke Kebab, Dakhni Jhinga, Dahi Bhalla, Dal-E-Tamasha, Veg Galouti Nihari, Tandoori Mushroom, Butter Chicken and Dakhni Saag. We were blown away by the taste and presentation of every dish. Our only regret was that we ate so much that we basically had no room left for dessert lol. We will definitely be coming back!
The dahi kebab and the tandoori mushroom is to die for!! We went to Tamasha for our anniversary and it couldn’t have been a better and more intimate experience - the staff was incredibly friendly and was so hospitable. Everyone made this experience so special, so thank you, team! ❤️❤️
Elevated Indian cuisine. Flavorful punches in every bite. Outstanding decor ! Outstanding customer service ! & Outstanding food ! Tamasha is a must visit ! Michelin Approved
Absolutely unforgettable! We celebrated my daughter’s college graduation at Tamasha Modern Indian Restaurant, and it was flawless. The private dining room was breathtaking, as was the entire restaurant. The service warm and attentive, and the food—simply outstanding. Every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The chef came out to greet us; we applauded! The staff went above and beyond, down to chilling and slicing the cake and providing a vase for our flowers. If you're looking for an elegant and delicious experience in Raleigh, Tamasha is a must!
Out of all of our anniversary dinners, Tamasha has been the absolute best. Everyone went above and beyond. Ely was so so helpful. The drinks were incredible. Their customer service was the best I have everrrrr received at a restaurant. The food was delicious! Will definitely recommend and be coming back. We left absolutely impressed.
This might be the tenderest chicken biryani I have ever had. Tamasha is a beautiful, pricey restaurant in North Hills that is Michelin recommended. So much care has been taken with the interior, that dining here feels so special . The purple sweet potato chaat, the yellowtail snapper, and the butter chicken were also highlights. All our cocktails were balanced and beautifully presented. Our waitress knew the menu backwards and forwards and made great recommendations. The chef even stopped by to see how we enjoyed our meal. I hope they get their Michelin star--this restaurant is truly special.
This restaurant delivers flavors that are out of this world—unlike anything I’ve ever tasted before. Every dish was a masterpiece, blending bold spices and innovative techniques in a way that truly elevated the cuisine. The dessert was nothing short of a work of art. I highly recommend ordering it because there’s simply nothing like it—both visually stunning and absolutely delicious. The interior is pure elegance, with every detail thoughtfully designed, from the glassware and silverware to the table lamps and even the menus. It’s a beautifully curated space that enhances the dining experience. The only drawback was the service. Our server was friendly and wonderful, but he was stretched thin between our table and a large private party in a private dining room. The manager really should have assigned him solely to the private dining room.
Truly a celebration of exquisite flavor and service - Tamasha is a one of a kind experience. We joined Tamasha for our 2 year wedding anniversary and it was the best choice for a special occasion (thanks to the staff!). The tandoori mushrooms and TFC are can’t miss items. No entree will steer you wrong, but the saag and lamb are to die for. Chef Bhavin has outdone himself. Can’t wait until an Oberoi pastry chef alum joins him.
We dined at Tamasha with our two children and had an excellent experience. Our waitress, Katie, was fantastic. Katie was extremely attentive, knowledgeable and friendly, especially with our two children. We also had assistance from Ethalee throughout the meal! We were so impressed with the service from start to finish. Atmosphere is very sophisticated and inviting. We tried cocktails, appetizers, and entrees. Our favorites were the fried chicken appetizer, butter chicken and snapper entree. The cocktails were also great! Highly recommend this restaurant and the entire team - everything was phenomenal!
Wonderful find! Great location in North Hills right across a parking lot. Great acoustics inside. I'm a huge stickler for being able to hear my friends when we go out for dinner. We had a big selection of their appetizers. The chili shrimp, paneer, and lamb keema kulcha were amazing. The oysters were a little salty. We hit a home run on our main dishes. The lamb shank (dum ki nalli gosht) is to die for and the crab moilee was spectacular. We didn't get any dessert since I brought a cake for our bday celebrant. They graciously kept the cake in the back for us and brought it out complete with a lit candle then cut it for us for an additional cake cutting fee of $5. Service was great. Our server was attentive without being intrusive. Great addition to the Raleigh food scene. Even those in our party who aren't huge fans of Indian food were impressed!
Absolutely wonderful restaurant. The decor is stunning, the service is always top notch, and the food is flavorful, inventive, and delicious. I have been here several times now with family and friends. Each time, the Executive Chef (Bhavin), has come out and greeted every, single customer in the restaurant. It’s clear that he cares deeply about the food he prepares and that his customers have the best possible experience while dining at his restaurant. We will be back again and again. This is now one of my favorite restaurants in Raleigh. Keep up the excellent work, Tamasha team!
The food & service at Tamasha exceeded my expectations. Although Tamasha has been hailed as a beautiful restaurant, but I think the real stars are their staff and the chef. Our server was very polite yet warm and knowledgeable of the menu. The chef visited tables to mingle and explain the menu items with back stories of some of the dishes. The food is well curated and not your usual fare. It was definitely delicious and well liked by everyone in our group. I was happy to see that they served a vegan version of the Galouti Nihari & Paniyarams! The other appetizers that everyone liked were Byadgi Chilli Shrimp and the Kheema Kaleji. In the mains we ordered vegan Collard Greens daal, fish (was fresh), and mushrooms. The group wanted to order the Dum ki Nalli too, but everyone was already feeling a bit full. Their desserts are very interesting too. The main dessert is an amalgamation of a couple of Northern Indian & Southern Indian dishes - Ghewar & Payasam. An interesting combination made delicately and wasn’t heavy, according to those who had it. Not vegan so I didn’t try it. Their vegan Mango and Guava sorbets were great. We’ll definitely visit Tamasha again.
Everything was so tasty. The starters were perfect, our main course choices were spot on and dessert (even though we were so full) was a must. The service was great from every interaction we had and we got to meet the chef who treated us to a side of Dal-e-tamasha which ended up being my favorite thing! 10/10 would go back and recommend.
My wife and I came here to eat on our anniversary dinner to celebrate. We weren’t able to get a seat indoors due to unexpected number of guests! I had only made reservations the morning off so I would recommend doing it weeks ahead! Food was amazing! A little costly but worth every penny! We got free drinks on the house, free Daal curry on the house and even a mango dessert, on the house!!! 4.2/5 Servers were all amazing and very accommodating. Even though it was later in the day they were still energetic and friendly. We love our server and I wish I remembered her name I would recommend her and another one of the server to all customers. 4.7/10
Tamasha is one of the most beautiful restaurants in the North Hills area. I was immediately seated and given complimentary wine for my sister’s Birthday dinner (just the two of us dined here). The wine was very good. The hostess was professional and pleasant. The restaurant was clean and well lit. Food: I LOVE the four cheese truffle kulcha (so much that I ordered seconds to take home). Full of bold flavors. So delicious. I also loved the Dum Ki Nalli Gosht (Lamb Shank) which was an extremely rich flavor and the meat was fall off the bone tender. The cocktails were amazing and I felt them. (If you know what I mean.) Food & Cocktails were perfection! Overall service: A bit more patience here would’ve made this experience a 5*. While I do understand the time limit, as this was listed verbatim in the reservation it made the experience feel rushed. This time limit along with automatic gratuity of 20% (no matter the size of the party) made this experience feel less welcoming. I enjoy tipping generously when the service is impeccable. To me, after being seated the service here was a tad above average but nothing to write home about. I do recommend Tamasha and look forward to returning. The food won me over here! Food and cocktails alone, Tamasha is definitely on my high list.
This was a very nice place with very good food. I am a big fan of Indian food and always enjoy tryig more. The service here was appropriately attentive and the food was a very nice temperature. The spcie level could have been a bit more spicy and it would have been nice but that is a small complaint. Overall the experience was enjoyable and I would recommend a visit.
It was a warm and breezy Friday evening in the beginning of spring. We had been wanting to go to a nice restaurant and in came Tamasha. A new high end Indian restaurant in the heart of north hills. Upon arrival complimentary Valet for customers, nice little touch. Food: was decent, though menu was a little complicating as descriptions didn’t really match what you order. Service: was ok, but not at the level you would expect for this place. Server barely introduced himself and felt like he wanted us to order and just leave so he could go to the next person. Didn’t walk through menu or make any suggestions. Drinks: they were quite delicious, but very expensive $22 for a cocktail. This is Raleigh not NYC. Overall: this place is nice but not worth the price. You will easily pay $100+ a person.
I was really excited to try this place but food wise flavor did not hit the mark. The four cheese appetizer tasted like a microwaved quesadilla with really sharp cheddar. The entrees were presented pretty but flavor wise nothing wow factor. The naan was the best thing on the menu. Additionally, one of the managers was removing plates from the table before we got our checks back and let us know the next reservation had arrived… while we were taking photos at our table. It was only barely over an hour which reservation said we could stay 2 hours. Food made my friends and I feel sick after. Overall maybe it was just a bad night but I do believe for 20% gratuity there should be a level of care.
