Food 4.25 Food was good but the person I went with did not enjoy the beans and rice on their plate. The rice was a bit crunchy, not soft. The beans where a bit hard, again not as soft as usual for the type. Drinks 4.8 Very tasty. Selection is good. Cost is moderate. Service 4.75 The staff is on top of things and will check on you an appropriate number of times. Atmosphere 4.75 Very nice location and welcoming. Cleanliness 4.8 Very clean seating and bathrooms. Cost 4.0 Cost is better than most but not great (but which place is right now) Overall What I would rate it 4.5 Recommend: Yes
Definitely will come back again! My queen and I had our 3rd yr wedding anniversary here and it was nice. The vibe was so inviting, staff was very polite and responsive. Our server was simply amazing, she made sure we were able to see the dodgers game vs them Brewers game 2. Had some appetizers and drinks, then we ordered dinner saw the Dodgers win! Got more drinks. Bill came out to be $120 so a win all around. Do recommend Kalaveras in Rancho Cucamonga
Wonderful place, the vibe was just spot on. I was here from out of town and im so happy my cousin chose this place to eat. The service was great, the food was good. The happy hour had really good food, the birria tacos were just to good. The nacho cheese was so light and tasty, the guacamole was to smooth, wish it had chunks in it. The mocktail i think guava, was sourish, when i asked if it was sweet i was told yes wish i got strawberry instead . Overall im so happy. Would love to go again if I come back into town
My family brought us here for the first time, and we were not disappointed! This place was phenomenal. The staff was courteous, patient, and attentive, not to mention fast! My husband ordered a margarita when we placed our dinner order, and shortly after the waitress walked away, another server approached with his drink. The chips, salsa, and guacamole arrived right after that. The chips were warm and didn’t taste like the store-bought bagged chips that many restaurants serve. The guacamole was served in a lovely molcajete and was the best we’ve ever had at a restaurant. We didn’t even finish the chips before our dinner was delivered. The staff continually checked on us, ensuring all our needs were met and our water glasses were never empty, which is very important to us. Although we weren’t celebrating a birthday, the table next to us was, and the staff put on an incredible celebration for them. There was a huge lit-up sign, singing, and sparklers—it was amazing! The manager even came around to check on our table and was seen sweeping and cleaning up. The food was hot and filling. I had the chile rellenos and enchiladas, while other plates at our table included fajitas, a burrito, and a soft taco plate. The decor was vibrant and colorful, making us feel like we were on vacation somewhere (which we actually were, as we were visiting family).
I truly enjoyed my experience. I was up the street and had a taste for a breakfast burrito, but it was already almost 11 o’clock. I scrolled upon this restaurant looked at the menu online and the breakfast burrito sounded delicious. I called, but no one answered less than a minute later, I got a call back from Jerry. He took my order and was absolutely pleasant when I arrived. The restaurant atmosphere was absolutely beautiful and I wish I stayed to dine in, the salsa bar was awesome! Jerry did an excellent job, he’ll be sure to make your experience memorable! Looking forward to visiting again with my family!!!
So after waiting at another restaurant and still having to wait on Mother’s Day, we hopped over to this restaurant. Most of our party arrived right as they opened and but were seated right away while us laggers were still driving. This place is huge with a very small parking area but we found a spot. They sat our group towards the back but it was less hustle and bustle which was nice. There’s many sections to sit in this place ands they had a few different sections of food set up. There was a noodle station, breakfast spot, and fish area as well as the outdoor area where you could get your item cooked to order with drinks. There were so many items to choose from but there weren’t a lot of desserts. They were very generous with the mimosas and kept our table drinkers happy while making sure of who were the drivers. The restock was a bit slow AB’s some of my French toasts and shrimps were undercooked. It was a lovely brunch!!
I have to admit I avoided this place because I didn't want to be disappointed. I'm glad to say that it did not disappoint and I will be back! We arrived and to our surprise it was happy hour however we chose to try the flight of margaritas. The drinks were good and just enough for my husband and I. Just know that these are small but powerful. Food was great and I had to try the churro ice cream sandwich which I fell in love with. The cherry on top, service was great.
Visited this Mexican fusion restaurant and loved the vibrant Day of the Dead holiday vibes in the decor. The service was excellent, and the ambiance was lively. However, I wouldn't recommend it for kids due to the music videos not being suitable. The loud music made it a bit challenging to have conversations, but the energetic atmosphere added to the experience. On the bright side, the food was excellent, and the drinks were delightful. A lively spot for those who enjoy a festive setting!
I've seen these restaurants in different cities, but never visited one before until today. It was worth the visit. $1.99 Taco Tuesday. The tacos were delicious, and the service was great.
We stopped by for a midweek lunch. We had a rather large party, but we were seated quickly. We started with the chips and guacamole. The guacamole was fresh and delicious. I had the potato taquitos with rice and beans. Everything was tasty. Our server was outstanding. They had several salsa stations. The restaurant itself is huge, and the atmosphere was fun, music was great, overall a very nice experience.
Great atmosphere. Biggest and tastiest molcajete I've had. Included half a chicken breast, flank steak and one link of chorizo sausage along with large and small shrimp. The veggies and sauce we delicious. I couldn't finish it.....
This.Place. Is.Loud. Don't talk, just eat, the food will speak. The salsa is excellent as is the guacamole and chips. We got the birria tacos, carnitas and the quesadilla which was generous, soft and cheesey. I'm a native Californian and the food holds up. The service is very good and the eclectic decor is charming. There were 8 birthdays while we were there...8! They provide an earsplitting HBD serenade and fireworks tribute for each person which is cute the first time, by the 5th time its just painful...the sulphur from the candle smoke, bright lights and shrill noisemaker screaming married with the shouting to be included music videos and people screaming across the tables to each other in an effort to try to have conversation. We are certain chaos was not the intent, definitely feels like a mistake. We enjoyed the food and are going to try lunch, perhaps it won't be a crazy 🤡 nightclub since it won't be night!
We went to the soft opening on July 5th and it felt as though it has been open a while already. We were quickly seated and our drinks and food came out quickly. All the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable on the menu. There were large televisions playing music videos, giving it a great vibe. There was even a tv in the restroom. The birria tacos were delicious as well as the margarita flight. All of the areas were not open, but once they do open, it will be a very large restaurant with two bar seating areas as well. Plenty of places for selfies. Thank you to the person that gave us a mini tour. We are excited to go back!
This place is all about skulls. The decor is really cool and reminiscent of a haunted house inside the corridors. Neon glowing paint and signs, tvs blasting music and black walls. The chips and red salsa are amazing! Like, get your own salsa and don't dip your chip in mine, amazing. Drinks are fantastic. I enjoyed the shredded chicken enchiladas. Parking is good, and you get seated quickly. Service is friendly. My only complaint is they blast the music way too loud here, so you have to yell to be heard depending on where you sit.
My opinion about this restaurant is the food was pretty good, prices were 50dlls per person including drinks. The place is clean and pretty good looking. I recommend tamarind michelada but it's a little bit sweet I would change that if u could. We arrived at 3pm on a Saturday and it was fast service. Enchiladas were good but to much cumin on them.
Food was delicious. We came here for happy hour and taco Tuesday. I have to come here to try their other food like the Ceviche. Their asada was so flavourful and their chicharrón tacos was THE BEST!! Definitely recommend and will be coming back.
Super friendly staff, today was the opening we got greeted by almost all the employees, felt nice. Servers were very friendly, the food was really good they have taco tuesday! Its so nice in there our kids loved it something different around this area. I deff recommend 👌 cant wait to go again!
The food was amazing, and the service was great! No wait time, I didn't need to ask for anything. I give this place 10 stars 🌟 on every category. Family loved it!
Nesting in the foothills of Rancho Cucamonga you can find a restaurant called Kalvaveras. Some of the best food that I have tasted. This is definitely a place you have visit. The food is great and the service is top notch. If your in the IE you have the give Kalvaveras a visit. 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I visited Kalaveras on my birthday with my daughter and my two grandchildren. We had tremendous fun! Kalaveras is colorful, loud with amazing music, noisy, dark and wonderful! Great food, awesome strong drinks and friendly wait staff! We all loved this restaurant and will be back soon!
First timer! I love the whole dia de los muertos theme. Very artsy feel with colorful yet dark ambiance. The music was perfect, I read reviews and people complained it was too loud, to me it was perfect. Menu options are not too extensive, tacos, burritos and plates with their twist. Chips and guac were good as well. I ordered the barbacoa, hot, tender and juicy, with rice and beans. Micheladas were ok, also ordered a few margarita flights, which were awesome! Great place to celebrate a graduation, after work function or a lively dinner with your partner.
I got the Quesa Birria Tacos and they were so good! Food is more on the pricey side but the experience is always fun. The place is very lively and great for birthdays or other celebrations!
This place is a vibe. Very trendy decor like neon signs and plant walls. However, do not come here if you want to have deep conversations or quiet. The music is loud and lights are dim. Music videos are playing. We came for happy hour which was a nice discount. The food was great and they have options for vegetarians such as the button mushroom tacos and the potato taquitos. We will be back.
We recently held a birthday celebration at Kalaveras – Rancho Cucamonga on Sunday, October 26, and everything exceeded our expectations! From the very moment we received the quote, the manager — Jerónimo Ocampo — was incredibly helpful and attentive. He responded quickly, took care of all our needs, and made us feel supported from start to finish. On the day of the event, Jerónimo and our waiter, Eric Rebolledo, delivered outstanding service. Eric in particular went above and beyond — always making sure our guests were well taken care of and making a point to give his best. The staff’s attentiveness added to the special atmosphere of our celebration. The food itself was delicious and beautifully presented. We enjoyed the full experience of high‑level service combined with great cuisine. We can confidently recommend Kalaveras for any special occasion or group event. Thank you to the entire team for making our time together so memorable!
We took our daughter for her 21st birthday! Food was very good! The portions are sufficient to even take home!! The service was very good as well.
It was a great experience as always. Service is kind and attentive. The mocktails are so good and it always gives vibes. The food is good. They have a grand menu but not too big that making a decision would be difficult. I highly suggest the pasta la diabla so good. Tuesdays is a dollar tacos and some days they have a band playing. Go check them out.
First time visit while at an out of town conference. Was packed at 730 when we arrived. Went on Taco Tuesday. Vibes were cool. Food and service was very good. Enjoyed the guac, appys and tacos. Their birthday celebration are pretty cool. I would definitely recommend giving them a visit if you like Mexican food with cool vibes and a non stuffy spot!
Great place to hang out. Food was surprisingly good. I expected more of a bar type but it was neatly made. Drinks were ok. The best part is the atmosphere. One can feel the vibe even if one is not a celebratory person. A bit pricey for my taste but quality is there.
Kalavres is a hidden gem that offers a unique dining experience with a touch of education. In Greek, "kalavres" refers to the mixing of flavors to create a harmonious and delightful culinary experience, which perfectly encapsulates the essence of this restaurant. During my visit to Kalavres, I indulged in the carne asada tacos, and I must say, the meat was incredibly tender and bursting with flavor. While I wished the taco shell had been a bit crisper, the overall taste was exceptional and left me satisfied. To complement my meal, I opted for a lime Margarita, and I was pleasantly surprised by the light hint of lime that enhanced the drink's refreshing taste. It was a perfect pairing with my tacos and added a zesty touch to the dining experience. One member of my party ordered a platitos of guacamole, which arrived with the pico de gallo and guacamole served separately. Being new to the restaurant, we were unaware that we were supposed to mix the two together. It would be beneficial for the servers to educate customers on this unique serving style to enhance their dining experience. Once we combined the pico de gallo and guacamole, we were treated to one of the best guacamole dishes I have ever had. The flavors blended harmoniously, creating a rich and creamy texture that was simply irresistible. Overall, my experience at Kalavres was a delightful journey of flavors and education. From the tender carne asada tacos to the flavorful guacamole, each dish showcased the restaurant's commitment to providing a memorable dining experience. I look forward to returning to Kalavres to explore more of their menu and indulge in their unique culinary creations.
The food was awesome! Service was top notch, prompt and quick! The decor was interesting! But the noise!!! Perhaps I've gotten too old for the club vibe, but dining here with your in laws and a couple of toddlers isn't advisable! We all had raging headaches by the time we left!
Finally got to go to this place! So much closer than chino location. We got seated in 5 mins. This place was bigger than I thought I love the decor and the music was not to loud. Definitely recommend the molcajete !! Also I had cucumber margarita and chamoyada margarita. Both very good. I also think this place is more of date spot than Mama por dios. And the service was better here than at Mama.
I went on a Saturday for lunch. There was plenty of parking. Sitting was quickly. Didn't have to wait for more than 10 min for a party of 8. The waiter was super nice, friendly and attentive. He checked on us a few times. The food was ok. Not bad but not great. It was kinda plain like it needed more flavor. Just average food. The reason for 4 stars it's the dish washing. The dishes looked dirty which ruined my experience. Once I saw my cup so dirty it made me think that the kitchen was dirty. My mind just started imagining stuff. I still ate the food bc I don't like wasting food but just ruined my experience. I wouldn't go back unless I see a review for clean dishes, lol. See attached photo.
Omg! Stopped in for a quick bite and adult beverage to end this successful day. Ordered long Island and taco barbacoa 🌮 😋 which was absolutely. Team Smiley
4 Stars for right now, here are some things that could improve, our appetizer came out a little late, draft beer could have been Colder (beer system was still being worked on). When ordering bottled beer, serve with a CHILLED Glass. Food was tasty, portions were satisfying, our server, Lexus? She was genuinely attentive and polite. We wish you Success and we'll be back soon.
This combines the atmosphere of a restaurant and bar. As you approach evening, it gets more wild and noisy. Nice Mexican decor. They even set up a couple photo spots. I had tacos for a late lunch. Very good.
I ordered the albóndiga soup along with several other dishes. Unfortunately, the soup arrived cold, which was disappointing, though the other dishes were fine. The service is prompt and attentive. The food is well priced with large portions. The restaurant is rather loud and busy, which made it a bit hard to relax and fully enjoy a meal.
It's an okay restaurant, definitely worth a try. I went because a cousin was having a birthday dinner. I had already eaten for the day so I just got the churro sandwich which was pretty good, and my younger cousin had gotten nachos and they looked pretty good so I took a picture. Looking at the menu, this place seems more of a drink spot, two pages of the menu were just alcoholic beverages. They can't take out the alcohol, I know because I definitely wanted a slushy and they said they couldn't take the alcohol out of it. Which was a bummer. I'm not sober or anything, I just don't like the taste of alcohol.
I came to for a birthday party and the atmosphere was on point. The food in the other hand was just average. Drinks were okay, nothing special.
Interesting Mexican restaurant with colorful themed rooms that makes you feel like you are indeed south of the border. It has a party atmosphere to it and the music is loud. There seems to be a TV showing music videos on every wall and at every corner. The food is delicious although a bit on the pricey side. Micheladas for $13 is a bit too much. Taco Tuesday’s in full effect at $3.50 a pop compared to $5.50 regular prices.
This place was ok. The music was super loud, making it hard to converse. It really was like going to the club with all the TVs playing the music videos. The horchata was good and not too sweet, but it wasn't cold because there wasnt enough ice. The chips were nice and warm but the salsa wasn't great. Like the Burrito Mojado, it was lacking salt. I think they just used the same salsa on top of the burrito, so it wasn't a true wet burrito. The customer service was great, but the service itself was very slow. The food and drinks came fast, but everything else like getting the utensils, chips and salsa, extra ice, and the bill took a while, making our stay there a lot longer than we wanted. I give the bathroom a 3 out of 5. It was clean, but the toilet paper was not in the dispenser. The loud music and music videos extended to the bathroom and even outside as well. There is really no escaping the loud music. Lol! I do like how big the restaurant is. There is plenty of room for large parties. So if you want to dance in your seat while you're eating and drinking, this is the place to be. 😆
The food is more of a twist on Mexican vs. being authentic. Prices are on the high side for the quality and quantity. Drinks are definitely on the high side of pricing. I’d say you’re paying for the atmosphere, which is okay if you’re into music that’s played a little to loud.
I've been to 3 different locations and this one was the largest one thus far, which was nice. There were a lot of graduation parties going on all of our orders were incorrect or forgotten. I enjoy coming to Kalaveras, but This time I wasn't impressed they totally forgot to bring out the food I ordered.
The food is good, but the service is weird. All the employees always stare at you. That's not right. I don't like the decor either... skulls... symbols of death... I love life!
I had a bit of a mixed experience at this location. While the atmosphere is lively, there were several issues with the service and food quality that left me disappointed. Before we were even handed a menu, the waiter asked if we wanted guacamole. Because it was offered so quickly and without a price mention, I assumed it was a complimentary starter (standard for many Mexican spots), but it turns out it wasn't free. It wasn’t until the bill came that I realized we were charged for it. I really wish there was more transparency there. I ordered the Birria Tacos, and honestly? They were just mid. They lacked that deep, savory flavor you expect. We also tried the Asada Fries, but they were just okay—the meat was way too chewy, which made them hard to enjoy. If you’re looking for a better deal and way more flavor, Angel’s Tijuana Tacos is the move. Their tacos are 100% tastier and significantly cheaper. To top it off, I was hit with a $3 surcharge just for paying with a credit card. Between the "surprise" guac and the card fee, it felt like I was being scammed.Overall, it’s a cool-looking spot, but the food quality and the way they handle charges need a lot of work
Not so great as some reviews displayed here. Food is ok. Service could be better. Our server was not friendly or helpful even tho we are familiar with the buffet concept it would be nice if he explained what was included in the brunch-buffet. I had to get up and find another employee and asked what was included in the buffet. Our server got very overwhelmed with a couple of tables and totally forgot about us. We had to stop the manager to get drinks. It seemed like they were short staffed. Food was cold. It's only hot when is freshly coming out from the kitchen. They do have and omelet station and a taco station. The pastor meat was very greasy and hard to bite. They also served shrimp aguachile which for us was the only good dish in the buffet. So no, I would not say that is a great place to spend your money, maybe for one time try but not so sure. Will be trying the San Bernardino location next time.
We were a party of 14 people. I got aguachiles they were ok. My cousin got a salad and the beans on the salad were rotten. Love listening to banda so it was the best atmosphere. SERVICE if u get ERIKA good luck. She was friendly thats about it, but we had to call her so many different times, we dropped water in the table by accident she gave us napkins to clean ourselves and the water that fell on the floor stayed there to dry off. The bottle beers were hot only draft beer were cold. So i think if u want to come just come full and get draft beers and listen to the banda. Banda is really good.
The service was extremely slow even for a taco Tuesday. I’m used to going to the Riverside location and thought this one would be the same. It was no where near as good of service and the toppings bar was lacking to say the least. We waited about 30 minutes before our waiter came and took our order and then another hour for the tacos. This isn’t an exaggeration in the slightest, I wish it were. The tacos finally came and the tortillas were cold, stiff and looked like they were taken out of the bag, dipped in a bit of oil and didn’t even hit the comal(grill). The only good thing were the drinks, even though they took a while to get as well, they were at least worth it. I definitely will not return to this location. Riverside is great maybe they need to send someone over to train.
Won’t be back. Very overrated. Loud inside. Menu is very small. Lacks flavor and portions are small. Got nachos which were underwhelming, the tacos were even more disappointing. Got a flight of margaritas and I would recommend that because we were pleasantly surprised by the tamarind and pineapple flavor. Otherwise very over priced and more of a photo opp place for Instagram than actually enjoyable for for food. Staff was friendly only reason I didn’t give it one star.
We order the Molcajete and it was all over cooked? Meat burned no sauce very dry, tortillas hard also the chips were hard. I don't know about this place? Small menu we probably won't be back? Waitress very nice.
Visiting Rancho Cucamonga we decided to have Mexican food we stopped here and the first thing we were greeted was two skulls at main entrance, not appealing. When you walk in the door your greeted by a sign on the wall demeaning a woman with a quote, the atmosphere was horrible, service was slow even though there was only about 10 people there, food was ok nothing to rave about. I really don’t think giving a one star on atmosphere is appropriate it really was drab colors on walls is horrible and don’t get me started on what they call art on walls it just so bad! We will NEVER go back! Shame on the city of Rancho Cucamonga for allowing this horrible establishment in their city!
