In short: quality sushi and dishes with attentive and accommodating servers. We were visiting from Hawaii and attempted to go to another sushi place prior but the atmosphere wasn't what we wanted so called Kuwada 10 minutes away. They told us they could take us so we showed up and were given a side table. We asked instead if we could do a round table and they moved us there. I asked if they could do a hirame usuzukuri but info could not (it wasn't on the menu to begin with so no biggie). Ordered the shishito peppers, spicy tuna crispy rice, robata pork belly, hamachi, maguro, and uni sushi. The freshness of the fish and uni was incredible, and the other dishes were all delicious. Oysters were sold out, and the uni was Santa Barbara even though the menu said Japan (we prefer SB uni anyway so we lucked out). The servers came around quite frequently to keep our smaller table clear of dishes. We also felt the music was a bit too loud for conversation so asked the server if it could be turned down just a tad -- which he did. Really impressed by the food and accommodating service. Would definitely go back again.

I love everything about this place! It’s a romantic evening out with an amazing chef and a devoted staff! The fish is top tier and worthy of the most expensive dinners in LA. For us, it’s the personable staff, relationship with the chef, and the unique menu that keep us coming back week after week. Expect an elegant sushi experience. I prefer the weeknights over the weekends.

Our server was Christian, but all of the team was very accommodating and polite. Very clean. Mood was great, music was good. Best yet, the food was good. Yuzu Yellow Tail, Crispy Rice Toro were very good. Also the Old Fashion was good as well.

Great authentic Japanese restaurant located in Rancho Cucamonga right off the 15 and foothill. We enjoyed several dishes this evening which I highly recommend . The drinks were delicious as well. Service was amazing , our waiter was awesome! The inside is very nice as well. If you’re ever in the area definitely stop by and check it out!

I took my husband here for dinner for his birthday. It was a Sunday night and I made reservations, but I didn’t need to because it wasn’t too busy. We sat at the cutest table. When we walked in there is a huge cherry blossom tree and our table was in front of the cherry tree. So we had the perfect background. We ordered the crispy rice and edamame for an appetizer and it was so delicious! We will come back for the crispy rice over and over again! We each ordered a roll and it was amazing!! Service was excellent and the restaurant atmosphere was perfect. A 10/10 for sure. We will be back and we will recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Hands down one of the best sushi places I have been. This place is a hidden gem in the most unexpected of places for the quality of food and service. With knowledgeable staff, an excellent menu, and a variety of masterfully crafted cocktails, I do not know how anyone could be disappointed with this place. This is not your all you can eat bs that lack quality. I would expect to find this place in Hollywood, New york, or Miami amongst the best chefs in the industry. Michelin star quality and expertise hidden in Rancho Cucamonga and at a good price for now. If you build your own full 3 or 4 course meal with coctails, expect around $60-80 pp depending on cocktails and menu items taken. They do have budget friendly options. Don't think about it just go. It's worth every penny.🤤

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kuwada Sushi, and it was an unforgettable experience. We opted for the Omakase menu, a curated selection of the chef's finest dishes, and were blown away by the quality and creativity of each course. The cocktails were a delightful prelude to the meal, expertly crafted and perfectly balanced. However, it was the main courses that truly stole the show. The Waygu beef was melt-in-your-mouth tender and seasoned to perfection, while the octopus was tender and freah that was simply divine. The atmosphere of the restaurant was incredibly romantic, with soft lighting and a serene ambiance. The service was impeccable, with our server attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Overall, Kuwada Sushi is a must-visit for anyone seeking a truly exceptional dining experience.

Reservations are good to do if you don't want to wait a long time. There's 6 of us and to my surprise this is not a fly by night sushi restaurant. I wasn't expecting it to be as nice as it was. The bathroom was immaculate and very clean! The music was a good choice for the atmosphere. Joni is our server and she is very patient, knowledgeable, friendly and kind. My experience with this 5 star restaurant is that the food is very fresh and tasty. I highly recommend this restaurant. Make It a must on your list of restaurants to visit.

The food and the service were 10 out of 10. The bluefin tuna was my favorite. I loved it so much that I came back a few days later for dinner. We come here once or twice a month. JoJo is super nice and attentive. If you're looking for omakase-style sushi this is it. They just updated their menu. 🤤

Beautiful place to celebrate or be datey *~*~ Went on Sunday, surprisingly chill very few people. This is perfect for omikase style dining: the sushi chef builds a multi-course sushi dinner featuring specialties and fish that you like. You converse with the chef and he'll prepare the sushi fresh as you eat, overall it takes a couple hours but you will be full by the end. Each dish is beautifully prepared and small, but don't panic! It was about $120 per person, fantastic dishes 👏 be prepared for a delicious experience, don't drink alcohol before you go and don't fill up on dumb things to eat knowing you're going here. Google "omakase", do a lil research and you'll have a wonderful time 💯

My first time here and it won't be my last. This place is much needed in this area. Finally a high end sushi place. Their selection of food is really good. Fish is fresh and service is top notch. Have in mind this is my first visit, but I'm already hyped about this place. I'll start with the ambiance, real nice, low lighting. Great set up. But now, let's get to the crème of it, the sushi!!! Everything I ordered was good and fresh. Don't expect big servings like the other place west of the 15. But authentic sushi isn't big portions, just enough. My opinion is that I'd rather have small good quality sushi than bigger portions that aren't good. But any who, we ordered a variety of sushi items, all in the pics, and all were good. On another note, the greeter was very nice and so the rest of the staff, the sushi chefs are fun. Our server was Jojo, super sweet and courteous. I do also recommend to make reservations, I believe they rake walk ins, but just incase. Do yourself a favor and try it out. I'm sure you'll enjoy it like we have.

I went with my wife and kids for my wife's birthday. This was our first time there and OMG did we make the right decision to go there! Everything from our experience here was perfect. Starting with the ambiance. We started with Shishito Peppers and the Spicy Crispy Scallops and they were both super good specially the scallops if you're not into spicy foods. We also ordered cocktails and our favorite was the Kemosabe but we also had the lychee martini and cherry blossom. They were also great. We then ordered 6 rolls that were to die for and finished the night with a couple of matcha cheese cakes. The service was right on point, our server was super nice and always with a smile. I must say that we have found our favorite sushi place. We will for sure come back. We had an amazing experience.

We were hesitant to try this place because of their 3.9 stars, but I really feel like they don't deserve that low rating. Clearly, people like to complain 🤷🏽‍♀️ Our server/bartender Raymond was very nice and made me a delicious drink. Our chefs, Ton and Charlie, were amazing and selected very delicious items for us for Omakase. (Omakase is chef's choice of premium cuts of fish and food items that they offer. Seems a lot of people are not clear on the concept) We loved our experience here and can't wait to go back!

This is, hands down, THE BEST sushi I have ever had. The presentation, taste, and freshness were all exquisite. And the staff were kind and helpful. If you are a sushi lover Do yourself a favor and try this place out!

All the staff here are kind and knowledgeable, and the atmosphere is great! Feels very upscale, but comfortable. We always get seated quickly, and it's great for both dates or outings with friends! Their eel is delicious too. There are menu options for everyone. We intend to be repeating customers!

I recently had the privilege of dining at Ori Sushi Robata in Inland Empire. This restaurant is definitely one of the best sushi places I have ever been to! The head chef is from Japan and is passionate about sushi and respects and the values the tradition of sushi making. He has obviously adapted to the modern culture and created a sushi restaurant that is both authentic and delicious. I can't say enough good things about the sushi here. The omakase is definitely the best thing to try.. The chef prepares a variety of sushi using the freshest fresh that is in season, and you really can't go wrong with anything you order. The prices are also very reasonable for high grade sushi and sashimi making this a great option for anyone looking for a place to impress friends or a date. I highly recommend Ori Sushi Robata, and I'm sure you will enjoy your meal as much as I did!

We had the premium okakase and it was amazing. Chef curated everything perfectly and Christian our server was awesome. Can’t wait to go back!

It’s hard to find quality sushi in Empire compared to Orange County or LA but this place is right up there when it comes to their quality sushi. The service was very tentative. Misaki hot socket was amazing. The lychee saki was amazing all in all great a little pricey, but you get what you pay for it and it was worth it. Will I come here again yes without a doubt, probably my favorite sushi place in the LA Empire.

Best sushi restaurant in Rancho Cucamonga. The sushi is so fresh and amazing. They're super friendly and will customize sushi requests for you. One complaint I've had for a while now, was the lack of a really nice sushi restaurant experience in Rancho Cucamonga. This places resolves that as the inside is clean and nicely appointed, with a fun vibe with upbeat R&B music playing. It is more expensive than most sushi restaurant's in the area, but we'll worth it.

An amazing place to enjoy sushi and Japanese food. Their nigiri and sashimi melt in your mouth. It is pricey but definitely worth it!

Ori and Charlie we're freaking amazing. Food was on point. Charismatic, fun, and a blast. Ori had the music on point in addition to making phenomenal sushi. It's pricey, but by far the best sushi I've had in Rancho.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We visited Kuwada for the first time to celebrate our mother’s birthday and had an amazing experience. The restaurant is beautiful, the drinks were outstanding, and the sushi was fresh and full of flavor. The service was excellent from start to finish—attentive, friendly, and made us feel welcomed. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

This place has excellent quality sushi and I enjoy the presentation. We’re always seated right away and feel our patronage is appreciated. The interior is beautifully and intricately decorated and delivers a unique ambiance. For the kids can’t go wrong with yakitori and white rice!

Lovely experience. Went there for the first time, the food was reasonably priced for sushi. The waygu is expensive but that's how Waygu is. Our waitress JoJo was super attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. The surf and turf roll had waygu on top and was delicious. All the sushi was definitely fresh and of a high quality.

We were hesitant about going to a new sushi restaurant but it did not disappoint. The service was fantastic. The sushi was the best I have ever had. Don’t come here for all you can eat type sushi. This was top notch. I will be back over and over. Amazing!!!

This sushi restaurant boasts a stunning interior that immediately captures the eye with its beauty and ambiance. From elegant décor to soothing lighting, the atmosphere sets the stage for an enjoyable dining experience.During our visit, we were greeted warmly by the friendly staff, who were attentive and accommodating. However, our initial positive impression was marred by a minor hiccup in service. Our server seemed to be missing for an extended period, and when we inquired about our final sushi roll, it appeared to have been forgotten. After flagging down another server, the issue was addressed, but the delay was noticeable.Upon further inquiry, we learned that the restaurant's computer system was experiencing technical difficulties, which may have contributed to the oversight. While we understand that such issues can arise, we would have appreciated clearer communication from our server regarding the situation.Despite the service hiccup, the highlight of our experience was undeniably the food. Each sushi roll was expertly crafted and bursting with flavor, showcasing the culinary skill of the chefs. From traditional favorites to inventive creations, every bite was a delight to the palate. In conclusion, while our visit had its ups and downs, the quality of the food ultimately left a lasting impression. With a bit of improvement in communication and service efficiency, this restaurant has the potential to become a standout dining destination for sushi enthusiasts.

Update on my second visit: not great the second time around. On a Friday night the fish we got was beautiful looking, but the taste was oily and off putting. The smell and taste were fishier than normal, and my stomach hurt a little bit for the next day or two. Not sure I’ll be back after that. Had a great meal here. The fish is all good quality, the staff were super helpful. I’d say this is the best sushi in this area by far, and I’ll definitely make the drive east to return. There is covid friendly outdoor seating and there was no one inside, so it felt safe dining here.

Very understaffed. I came around 1.30 on Sunday afternoon. Not busy at all. We were seated but wait for 20 min for menu but no server came. Can’t rate food since we left

Service and ambience were good. As for the sushi, disappointing. Ordered everything recommended and didn't deliver. Sushi rice was not seasoned and saturated with sweet sauces. Ordered the salmon avocado and didn't see any chunks of avocado ($18, 6 pcs). This dish came with a lot of mushy rice (overwatered rice) saturated with lemon water & one thin slice of salmon per rectangle ($18). The $15 ceviche tacos (4 pcs) were disappointing. NOTE: the chips were the size of Dorito chips with minced fish on top and some tiny clover like weeds. SMH... this was a robbery. Same goes for the crunchy rice. Too much rice drowning with sweet sauce. The sashimis/nigiris were okay. Small/thin cuts and didn't even come with shredded radish or side of veggies. The wasabi & ginger were also skimpy. Our wasabi was a size of 4 raisins & 6 slices of ginger (counted). This was for 2 people. Overall, this place was overrated/overpriced. The food taste/quality is subpar. I will not return.

Went in for a private party. We arrived early so we figured we'd get a drink at the bar. The guy at the counter said sure, but a server over heard and quickly, in a rude way said, No! We are not open yet. You are here for a 3pm party but we don't open until 5pm. We were willing to spend money at their establishment above what the party dinner cost, but the way the server treated my wife and I, I will never go back. I feel bad for the waitress that was serving us when we did sit as she was working extra hard to bring us everything we asked for.

Came for my birthday. Spent 180$ per person for omakase. Was given 10 pieces at once with no explanation of what was on plate, it was just placed in front of me and the chef walked away and didn’t return until he had the rest of my meal on one last plate. For the price definitely not worth it, I usually go to shokunin at haven market place where it’s 60$ for 13 pieces and it phenomenal, you’re served a piece at a time and the chef explains what you’re served.

I came here for Valentine's Day expecting a nice semi high end experience since the dinner was priced at $160 per person. In total I spent $400 dollars for a VERY lackluster experience. The food was good, and our server was attentive, but that's about where the good stuff ends. Firstly, the seating was poor. We were seated in the corner of the restaurant in a tiny square table that didn't even have enough space for the food being given to us. The seats were similar to bar stools meaning you couldn't even lean back in them. Our table was wobbly and the surface was dirty. The menu wasn't anything to write home about. To top it all off our dessert was a single slice of red velvet cake (yes, one slice for the both of us) with red funfetti-like sprinkles on top. The experience was priced as something high end but felt cheaper than some casual restaurants I've been to. All in all, I won't be coming back. I'd rather spend less and get more at some other place.

P

Did $160 EACH PERSON for the Valentine’s Day menu. Absolutely the worst waste of money I’ve ever spent. For the price of a round trip ticket to a destination resort, you also can have tiny bites of sushi that weren’t explained, two tiny skewers of Wagyu overcooked, boiled Cod that was too gross to finish, and one velvet cake to share lol. Yes ONE slice of cake. I seriously thought I was in a prank. Literally the only decent part was our server.

DONT DO THE VALENTINES SPECIAL. It’s nearly $400, set menu & the portions are small. Fine dining in the name of me craving McDonald’s after. SKIP!

Was so excited to try this spot but was such a disappointment. My friend and I sat down and ordered 5-6 plates along with just water. The place wasn’t apparently busy by any means. We got one plate. Then we waited over 40 minutes just to receive any other food. No one came to refill our water. No one took the finished plate. A couple got seated right next to us, and were served water upon their arrival. They started receiving their meals after we were STILL waiting to get our food. Once we finally managed to flag down a waiter, the lady told us “oh okay calm down don’t get angry” and she ran off. She didn’t pay us any piece of mind to our concerns. We weren’t served water again until they came to refill for the table next to us, that came after. Will never be coming back. Not to mention, for the price and time it took, they could afford to not make the sushi look like it was cut by children’s scissors. WAITED OVER AN HOUR TO RECIEVE FOOD. And they didn’t do anything to try and solve the issue after us having to complain multiple times. We wish we got up and left after the first half hour of waiting.

Came here for an omakase experience. The food portions were really large could only do like three- four plates but paid full price. Mostly the sushi chefs was really mean to the employee and it made us really anxious. Sushi not worth the violent atmosphere

C
Celine Hu

Extremely disappointing experience! Zero service! The staff never once checked on us—not even to refill water. We ordered the most expensive set menu, expecting quick service since there were barely any other diners, yet the dishes trickled out over the course of one and half hour. To make matters worse, when it came time to pay, they added a 3% surcharge just for using a credit card. The food itself was underwhelming—bland, far from authentic. Service is inattentive, management is careless, the food is disappointing, and the extra fees feel dishonest. Definitely not recommended!
