This place is gem near my house. Organic vegetarian food is very delicious, and I like the atmosphere of the restaurant too. You can enjoy green food, green views and green and green. Haha. But parking space is not good enough.

Chris took excellent care of us outside by the firepit. He went above and beyond to make sure our experience was outstanding. He refreshed /replaced my wine when a bug friend decided to drink itself to death in it 😂 and replaced my date’s clarified margarita that he didn’t care for. He was attentive and extremely knowledgeable about the menu, ingredients, and recipes. The fresh halibut ceviche was delish. The rancho Valencia Chardonnay was delicate with a smooth finish, and the rosemary salt mixed nuts were a nice addition. Thank you Chris for your wonderful attitude and service. Bonus we got a close encounter of a hot air balloon :)

extremely tranquil breakfast experience on a Saturday morning. the staff were all extremely friendly, well-groomed and peaceful people. there was gentle music playing in the background. scenic treetop views around, Spanish tile floors, Terra cotta stucco, massive wood beams, comfortable seating, solid wood tables and chairs. comfortably spaced seating layout for each party to feel they had their own experience. I had the build your own omelette with 4 eggs and anything I wanted in it, fresh fruit and a pot of tea. there was a living herb plant on each table for the centerpiece, which had an essence of sustainability to the thoughtfulness of this restaurant experience. valet at the front. easy gated entrance to the resort. absolutely worth a visit if you're in the area! totally tranquil. feels like Vacation. update: went again and accidentally left my sunglasses and they held them for me! had gluten free lemon pancakes and chicken sausage. super delicious, once again!

This place was absolutely amazing. The Honeydew Margarita came with Honeydew Sorbet! And I shared the lobster nachos with a buddy and we could barely finish it - so tasty and large helping. It felt like being in another country with live music and great service.

Today we went to celebrate a birthday in the morning for breakfast. We were greeted by the hostess name Valerie. She didn't even smile or give us eye contact. She asked for the name and if we had a reservation, then she walked us to the back where it was an enclosed area with plastic film around. Although it was a beautiful day. Hi, 70s we wanted to sit outside where we always sit. Because we always go there. Always have a great experience. But this woman, who is the hostess, has absolutely no clue of what her job entails. Because she was extremely rude. She did not want to sit us where we wanted to sit, and when we asked for the manager. She just complained, took a long time, and we told her that maybe she needed to have the day. This woman valerie was extremely unprofessional, and we asked her to at least just smile, and then she started arguing with my husband saying that we don't know what's going on with her personal life and therefore we told her maybe she needed to take day off

This is one of the best restaurants I have been to in all of my travels. The food is absolutely delicious with impeccable presentation. The service is the BEST I have had. I will definitely return and hope to try the other items on the menu. Our server Scott was a delight, and his attention to detail was inspiring.

We’ve been here a few times and each time it gets better and better. A great place for a date night or family dinner. They are very kid-friendly. As my daughter’s say ‘they have the best crayons and activity sheets!’ In June, we moved to SD from Boston and haven’t been able to find fish dishes ‘up to the standards’ of Boston area fish dishes! The Pony Room is the place to go for good fish! Cant say enough good things about The Pony Room

Pricey but worth every penny. Went here on a business lunch date and the service, atmosphere and food were perfect. I had the salmon bowl. Cooked to perfection, juicy, tasty. Highly recommend

One of our favorite spots in Rancho Santa Fe area, the surrounding is beautiful, and the decor, interior, and setting is elegant and classy with a rustic twist. We were there for brunch and the Aperol Spritz was on point, not easy to find somewhere to make it just right on the west coast. The menu serves many classic dishes but it was done with a gourmet approach. The preparation and execution of our meal were excellent, we loved every dish we ordered. The superb service from the team was also worth mentioning, they paid lots of attention to details and were attentive throughout the meal. We stayed a bit longer than expected as we had guests from far away and they never rushed us even the restaurant was shut for breaks before dinner. We had a beautiful, tasteful and memorable time there and will definitely go back!

The Pony Room is our go-to for family events—whether breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The environment is truly one-of-a-kind in North County, and the valet and service are always top-notch. I especially love the burger at lunch, and the prices are very reasonable for such an elevated experience. The bar is also a fantastic place to relax and socialize.

We visited The Pony Room, an upscale, local gem that is tucked away in the Rancho Valencia Resort & Spa, for a special dinner. Its high food quality, stunning location, professional service, and extensive wine and liquor selection made it a memorable fine-dining experience. The lobster nachos were a real treat with sumptuous bites of lobster mixed with a vibrant pico de gallo, guacamole, cheese, and slightly spicy sauce. The hamachi crudo was so fresh. The dish was brightened by thinly sliced Serrano peppers, shiso leaves, and a well balanced ponzu sauce that complemented the fish. The brussel sprouts with bacon were a bit heavy and sweet alongside a main entree. I would opt for a lighter side dish next time, if pairing it with one of their hearty main entrees. The jumbo Baja shrimp cocktail was refreshing. It contained six large, meaty shrimps on a bed of crushed ice. It was paired with a nice guacamole and cocktail sauce. Fresh Kumamoto raw oysters from Washington state were very fresh and cold. Although the oysters came with a fermented hot sauce and a mignonette, they tasted even better when the staff brought out a side of fresh grated horseradish. This brought a nice acidity and spice to the oysters. The spiced lamb lollipops were served at a juicy medium rare temperature and placed on a healthy smear of tzatziki sauce. The lollipops were topped with a mustard caviar that lent a nice salt and acidity to the lamb. The decor is rich and warm, with rustic woods, clay roof tiles, white stucco walls, and other accents. The restaurant is set against a beautiful natural backdrop of trees and the night sky. A great place for a romantic date night or special occasion. Special thanks to our server, Henry, for his attentive and knowledgeable service. His food and drink recommendations were excellent.

It's like dining at your backyard! But much more than that! Serene, nature, peaceful yet elegant and classy. We went here to celebrate our son's birthday! It is also a hotel so in case you want to stay sometime. Kind of a higher price point though. But I think you get what you pay for. Just wonderful and beautiful surrounding. It is our first time here but it probably will be our regular place to go here in Escondido. We ordered steak, lamp chop, chicken lettuce wrap, lobster tacos. Everything were very delicious. Well, except for the lobster tacos which were so so. Probably can improve if the tortillas were hand made. Or maybe it is, but not something I'd recommend. Although you must order the bread that was bake to order. It is the focaccia. For $19 we thought it was all worth it. Parking was valet only. It is complementary if you dine in . I can't recommend this place enough!

We went here for brunch this past Saturday for my mom and my aunt's birthday. I cannot express how amazing our service was! Everyone who worked there was so hospitable and really accommodating and helping us that everything set up and have a really nice celebration. What I like about Pony room and never gets completely full, so they put us in a nice space near the window with a bench next to us where we could put all of our gifts and belongings. I should add there was nine of us! So fairly good size large party. Our server Alex was super tentative to make sure all of us had her water and drinks while waiting on food. We started off with chips and guac and cinnamon rolls. The food was better than I remembered! Definitely one of the best cinnamon rolls I've ever had, they are extra large so definitely order one to share with at least two other people. The chips for the guac were fresh crispy and perfectly salted. We all loved our food as well although we are running out of space from the appetizers. I ordered the prime rib dip, which I hardly made a dent in but took home in a box. Honestly, I love the pony room. It's such a nice, elegant, and tasteful vibe. The service is 10 out of 10, and so is the food! Great spot for a celebration or just simply coming for weekend brunch! Also valet is complimentary if you're dining at the pony room!

Yummy brunch at The Pony Room! We ordered the fried rice Mexicali with lobster and shrimp and the blackened swordfish sandwich with a small Caesar salad. We sat on the dog friendly patio and the service was excellent, always filling our water glasses and very friendly. The restroom also has a changing table. The restaurant is inside a larger spa resort but you can go without staying. Beautiful property and recommend!

There's a high end, and there is the Pony Room. Located at the Rancho Valencia Resort and Spa. Spanish style central courtyard, terrace and interior bar seating. Service is impeccable. Cayetano from Oaxaca Mexico took good care of us. The food was somewhat innovative and completely excellent. The bar specializes in tequilas and mescals. Well worth the price. Complementary valet parking and they will charge your ev too.

We had a wonderful group luncheon at the Pony Room past Friday. When you arrive you have to park valley. There is no other parking option. The restaurant which is located at the Rancho Valencia resort is beautifully appointed with dining terraces and rooms overlooking lush landscape. There is an inner courtyard with a fireplace if you happen to dine on a chilly night. The staff was very attentive. Our food arrived fast and dirty plates were cleared quickly. The waiter knew the menu pretty well and also made recommendations. The prices are high which is expected from such place and locale. I would recommend rock fish ceviche ( phenomenal) , guacamole, Brussels sprouts, tuna tare tare, lunch trio and Lobster Luie salad.

J

Where do I begin? It’s a culinary experience. From your first bite of the Focaccia bread, it’s a precursor for what’s to come. Every bite is full of many flavors home grown just steps away in the resort’s garden. It’s truly a 10/10 experience that I’ve only found at this resort. I ordered the Rancho Burger. It was the perfect temp, the tomatoes were delectable, the cheese was rich, and the bun was soft and sweet. To top it all off, we ordered the Cookie skillet. It comes with thick whip cream that you can’t get anywhere else, and the skillet itself is a fantastic combination of a warm cookie with the caramel drizzle draped over the creamy scoop of vanilla ice cream that’s so good, it won’t leave your mouth. The ambiance and service is also sublime, it just feels right at home. They’re even accommodating for your furry friends with a bowl and a bed. The Kardashians could eat anywhere, but they still have chosen here. It’s in a league of its own

The service was off the charts in this beautiful spot. We came for a birthday happy hour and ate a tapas that were all really delicious. The Pony Room exceeded all expectations for a delightful breakfast experience. The ambiance was simply charming, with a beautiful décor that provided a warm, inviting atmosphere. The service was exceptional, with attentive and friendly staff who made our visit truly special. As for the food, every dish was a masterpiece. The eggs benedict were cooked to perfection, and both the classic and short rib variations were bursting with flavor. The cream brulee toast was a heavenly indulgence that left us longing for more. Each bite was a symphony of taste and texture that simply delighted our senses. While it's true that The Pony Room is on the pricey side, the quality of the experience more than justifies the cost. The attention to detail in both the food and service makes it a worthwhile investment for a memorable breakfast. I wholeheartedly recommend The Pony Room to anyone seeking a top-tier dining experience. A five-star gem that truly stands out in every way.

The Pony Room at Rancho Valencia Resort is a truly special place. True to form of all Relais and Chateaux properties, the emphasis on exceptional and creative cuisine, and outstanding service is front and center. Shannon and Michael in particular are outstanding. We dined here 3 times during a recent trip to the area. The outdoor setting is amazing. A really chill vibe that invites you to want to stay. Noteable dishes were the Heirloom Tomato and Buratta, Street Corn, Brussel Sprouts, Mexican Ceviche, Hamachi Crudo, Crab Cake, Honey Baked Focaccia, Spiced Lamb Lollipops, Waygu Bolognese, Filet Beef Tenderloin and Chicken Enchiladas! Will absolutely return again and again.

I didn’t initially see this place was within a gated community, but the security staff were friendly and directed us straight to it. We sat at the bar, and were greeted moments after seating. I ordered the classic Benedict, which I want to replicate at home. So good! We also got the salmon & lox, also very good and fresh. Bar was lively, but not loud. Not too stuffy a place, but I’d go again with friends or family.

We had a birthday dinner for my one year old son and the staff was so accommodating and friendly and as usual, the food and drinks were incredible! They put in my son’s food order right away, offered him berries for his birthday dessert and they didn’t rush us out (we were a party of 9). We love this restaurant and will definitely be going back for more celebrations!

Overall very nice place. Food was good and reasonably priced. Had a Classic Eggs Benedict with Lobster and it was delicious. Coffee was great and the Bellini I had was very refreshing. Pastries were decent. Service was good—very nice ambience and atmosphere. Recommend trying this place for dinner as well as it looks like the cocktails would be outstanding.

I thought this was an excellent spot for a dinner with several friends. Beautiful grounds, a bit off the beaten path (from oceanside). We were seated on patio , several spaces inside as well. Wife had lamb chops popsicles which were cooked perfectly, unfortunately it didn't come with any sides. Our oyster appetizer came out frozen. I never had that happen to oysters on the Half Shell. Waiter apologized and replaced them, second batch was great. Looking at the online menu before arriving, I wanted the seafood Louie salad. I was informed it was only for lunch. Waiter was able to get them to make it for me and it lived up to expectations, delicious.

The food here is solid, though not quite spectacular for the price. I ordered the burger in a lettuce wrap with a side salad, which was nicely done, but the beef itself tasted a bit flat. I looked up the brand afterward and saw it was 100 percent corn-fed, which explains the flavor. For a $32 burger, I expected it to be grass-fed. I would definitely come back, but I would try a different dish next time, maybe the omelette. As for the space, the atmosphere is incredible. The setting feels like a retreat, with serene music, great service, and a calm, thoughtful vibe.

Looking for a relaxing spot to grab a drink and enjoy ? This is your place . Loved the country club vibes - it’s warm and inviting. I was hoping for some more vegetarian options but their massive tequila and wine list as wells cocktails and spirits more than makes up for it !

I’d recommend making a reservation in advance on open table. The menu had changed quite a bit since I was last here. The risotto was the best part of the meal. I wasn’t too keen on the lamb sauces/flavoring. The steak frites was nicely executed. The hacienda drink was delicious. The snickerdoodle cookie was delicious and great end to my meal. Complimentary valet parking.

This place is so pretentious, and the music is really loud. Hard to enjoy a meal when you have to shout. Our waitress was so robotic. I asked her what she would recommend and she said everything is good. She had no opinion on anything. Maybe that's what they are told to say, but it's not warm or friendly. The food is good, overpriced, but good. No reason to return.

Nice place. The ambience is making up for the dining experience, but food is somewhat mediocre. Everything was good but not amazing.

Very beautiful place, but the service is disappointed. when we sit down, nobody come to ask for water or drink I think we wait for 20 minutes and finally got water. After we wait for our food for an hour…..is really ……long….and the food is so so … My friend order the crab egg Benedict is toooo salty.

Came here trying to have cocktails in a nice setting after a long work week. Upon arrivial, we were sternly informed that "everything is reserved" (a joke, since the place was nearly empty). After being ignored at the bar for 10 mins, finally got 2 drinks ordered. Dont come here if u r Asian-American, SPEND YOUR $ ELSEWHERE. PS. Management - its called CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING.
