Amazing not too fond of the flirty workers but the loaded bake potato was life i had 2 and told my friend and husband it was one for me and one for the baby. Made my pregnancy craving go away with such amazing food.

This place is worth driving an hour out of your way just to come try the bbq here. I've been trying bbq around the U.S. for the last 20 years and this is one of the best places I've found. Love you guys and hope to see you soon. You're only 8 hours away but I'll be back sooner than later.

Love the BBQ from here! We always get the pound of chopped brisket and ribs. The fried okra and potato salad are good too. We usually just go through the drive thru but the girls at the window are always super nice!

First off, I rate places "for what they are". Meaning that a fast food chain is not on the same scale as a gourmet restaurant. But that doesn't mean a fast food chain can't be good "for what it is". Junior's BBQ is a great place for lunch! Food is awesome and the staff is very attentive. Never a bad experience. And it is always full of Red Oaks police and Fire department personnel,and we all know that they know where the good food is around town!

I love this place, the staff and the food. Once or twice a week I stop in and get dinner. Good value meal and you can tell they want you to come back again so they treat you right and like you have been a regular for years.

A little hole in the wall family runned BBQ place. Their stuffed jumbo baked potatoes are a hit. If you go on Tuesday, you get them $1 off. All their food is good.

This is the best. I have Doctor friends that make the trip here from north Dallas. They can cook your turkey to perfection as well. Take a quart of banana pudding on your way out, your family will love you for it.

Great food and great customer service! Sliced beef and jalapeno cheddar sausage is very good. The entire staff was very attentive and checked on me several times. Their smiles are contagious. You can tell they enjoy working there together. I asked for the manager before I left so I could compliment her and her staff.

Overall, my favorite BBQ in Red Oak. Everything is pretty consistent and delicious. Just have to beware of getting old rubs, sometimes they should have been 86'ed and not served but otherwise fantastic BBQ. Although they never have pulled pork, one of the most notable BBQ staples.

This is the very first place I ate at when we moved to Red Oak 35 years ago. We had just moved here... we had a 2 month old, an 18 month old and a 5 year old. Hubby was at work... boxes still not unpacked. I loaded up the kiddo's and took the chance. Only once or twice in 35+ years have I been disappointed in this place. This place was great! My buddy Brandon took me here for lunch and i don't regret it! The service was fast, kindly, and clean, and the food tasted amazing all for a great price. I personally got the ham sandwich, but i plan to go back to try almost everything else on the menu, PLUS the desserts are even more delicious. Almost feels like a sin the foods so good 😊

I had a baked potato with lean brisket. It's delicious! I'll be going to eat there more often. It's reasonable. Juniors is a down home sort of place. Service was good, they are serious about getting your food to you. I wish I'd have taken a photo of my potato to share.

The service was very nice! The young woman at the counter greeted me upon my arrival and didn't rush me to make a choice. I had the jalapeño and cheese sausage sandwich and to much to my delight the sausage was very tasty! Normally I expect son boring stuff, but this had a very pleasant taste. The potato salad was exactly what you want in a classic southern potato salad. No surprises, just good food. All in all I would recommend going here over may other spots I've had within 30 minutes of here.

I wouldn't call it a hole in the wall, but an "older" atmosphere and not very big. Staff was friendly, provided service w/a smile, and gave good recommendations when asked questions regarding the menu. The bbq brisket was excellent, and the fried sides are cooked upon order and brought to your table when ready. I had a loaded brisket potato w/o bacon bits, extra brisket, and shared fried orka and onion rings with table. Potato was cooked well and soft throughout, brisket was shredded and tender. Orka and onion rings were both great as well. No table service, but they do bus your table after you leave. Highly recommend!

Wonderful but very overpriced. Too bad. They used to be fair priced. The amount of food is skimpy for the raised prices. I love them though. I especially like their fried okra and sliced beef. The banana pudding is also worth the trip. Just too expensive for frequent visits. Too bad. The fantastic staff are always just so positive and fast and friendly. I just can't go as often as I'd like, because the prices are high.

Jr’s is like ole school go to. I’ve been eating here since back in the seventies. Their salads are fresh and really good. The okra is outstanding. They could use some help on cooking their brisket… seems more times than once it’s been dry and not very tasty. They do have my favorite sausage with jalapeño and cheese and it’s delicious.

Decent place! Small town feel in the bustling part of red oak. Actually, it's a little too tiny for my tastes. The selections of sides and dessert are pretty much all you see at the counter which is only like 6items total. The service was great and fast, though I was left wondering "what to do" when I got to the checkout... had to pay... and hadn't gotten my meat yet. Turns out they deliver it to you at the table. It's small enough that they can pretty much ask around or remember who got what. Food was decent, less smoke than I'm used to. You don't need the sauce to eat the meat, which is great, and the tenderness of both the brisket and turkey I got was spot on. The slaw and potato salad were good. Tea was good and strong. I'd go back but wondering if there is better.

Very nice gentleman. I got two of the 3 meat plates. Tried the brisket,pulled pork, turkey and regular sausage. It was good, we wish we would've ate it there but we waited until we got back to our camping spot. I got the mashed potatoes, green beans, churo beans, Mac n cheese as sides nothing is thick all thin even bbq sauce. But still had good flavor. Also got 1 lb of the ribs also was good. Would return if in the area. I suppose $86.00 is reasonable for everything that I got.

Food was good, service excellent... BUT the BBQ sauce is horrible. My buddy explained some people use a ketchup based BBQ sauce. NEVER in my Texas born life have I tasted ketchup in my BBQ sauce until now. Tasted like a vinegar-y mess. Blah! Ask for it on the side if you aren't sure you will like it.

Baked potato was just like every other baked potato I've ever had. Chicken was dry, lacking flavor. Brisket was dry and lacking flavor. One of the worst banana puddings I've ever had. No effort whatsoever. Couldn't even finish it and i loooovveee banana pudding! Fries were the star of the show. Everything was over priced. " Family sized" portions were laughable.I won't be back but appreciate the kind lady that took my order.

Had a great turkey sandwich and peach cobbler. The peach cobbler tasted like bathroom soup smells and was not very good but the turkey was great and the sauce was really good.

Monday, April 8th was my first time visiting this location. And it will be my last. I had a long wait on my food, when I was at the register to pay for my food a young lady threw my receipt in the trash,I asked her why did she do that ? The dumbest thing said was "You paid with cash right, my reply was yes,. Worker only stated she threw it away, no legitimate reason. I asked why would you do something so careless, she just stared. Never will I give a worker the idea of a good job and have a bad attitude towards customers. The food was not good. Hopefully some day the restaurant can offer real staff training so that the staff can be properly trained to learn how to help their customers the correct way.

My first time there. I had a BBQ-sauce sandwich and coleslaw. Loved the coleslaw, not sure about the smoke on that bbq sandwich. Partner had ribs , potato salad, green beans. The potato salad was excellent. I saw several people working behind the counter, and the tea was empty..sigh.

The brisket was bland and dry, ribs underwhelming, beans ok, mac n cheese typical fast food mac. Ialso ordered a potato but in hesitant to try it... might give it to my teenager who eats anything! Restaurant was pretty sad but service was fine. I don't like to leave bad reviews but I really never have to go here again! 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

I’ve been coming to Junior since I was a little girl. It’s my favorite barbecue place. Anytime, I’m near red Oak, we always stop by. Today we walk in and the lady that was taking the orders was rude and not friendly at all. She got an attitude when I wanted a baked potato and okra. I said I understood that it would cost extra to have both sides and when I said I still want to do the okra she was like yeah I wrote that down with an attitude. She handed me the table number for the okra. My mother-in-law didn’t realize that the table number was for her okra as well. When she brought the food, my mother-in-law mentioned that she had also ordered okra and then my mother-in-law realized that the table topper was for her okra as well and said oh I didn’t realize that sorry and the girl says yes rolls her eyes and walks away. I don’t understand the rudeness towards customers. I worked in the service industry. I understand there are rude customers, but we weren’t ones. It was so bad we said we love the food, but we’d rather just go to soulman’s because of how rude she was.

There WAS a TIME when Juniors BBQ. was hands down the BEST & was CONSISTANT but not anymore. You NEVER know from time to time anymore WHAT you will GET ? One time buy a lb. of beef get a nice size cup of sauce WITH it. The next time a itty bitty cup NOT enough for one sandwich & they want MORE $ for MORE sauce ? The chopped is chopped too THICK see photo but if you ask to chop in FINE got charged $4.00 MORE ? Chopping FEE ? I've called & spoken more than ONCE with the person that's SUPPOSED to CARE. It's NOT helping. YES they WILL offer another meal but you don't know unless you TRY it before you BUY it ? Yesterday 4/25/24 went INSIDE ask for LEAN Sliced & then Chop it. Meat was PALE in color, Chewy & absolutely NO flavor. NO Smoke smell or taste & Sauce was basically water consistency. It's SAD to see a long time know for their food go Downhill. BUT that's the American Way Today. IF you have a restaurant Kids CAN'T Run It ! OWNER should Sample EVERYTHING they SELL Before they SELL it. The End !

My family and I have been coming to Juniors for 30 years. Only in the past couple of years have we experienced any disappointment and it's with the young girls who handle drive-thru. The young girls who meet customers and deal with the public could be friendly and welcoming. Each time we stop by, there are no smiles, just the look that they are bothered. No thank you, or have a nice day...just the same unhappy look. Food is always good, we just miss the welcoming greetings and smiles we were spoiled to for so many years. It makes you as a cuatomer want to return. Spent $80 today and the young lady with dark hair just could not crack a smile. Just an unhappy lookas if we inconvenienced her. Customer service makes a difference. I think we're finally done! As much as we like to support small business, our family won't be back.

The prices are not bad. But it wasn't very good it tasted like Lloyd's BBQ that you can get at the grocery store. There jalapeño sausage was ok again something that you can get at the grocery store. The BBQ sauce tasted like masterpiece original no taste. Also, the way it is wrapped Togo just in aluminum foil every bite that my husband and me took aluminum foil.

It was a far cry from the best i've had, and pretty close to the worst ive had in DFW metroplex . I ordered the 2 meat combo with 2 sided and loaded baked potato with chopped beef. Ribs were tender but completely tasteless. Sliced beef was dry. Potato salad was that of which I've never had before. Mushy with barely any flavor even similar to potato salad taste, okra was good. Baked potato was also tasteless with artificial bacon bits. Sauce was "meh" at very best. Oh I also had tea It was very good. I give 2 stars for service and tea. For the price I can't forsee me returning for a second time

Don't get the turkey. I don't think it's real. It's a spam like substance and tastes like hospital food. Fried okra is was really good.

The lady in the drive their was sweet but honestly the food wasn't all that good considering half our toppings rubbed off on the foil because you wrap the potatoes in foil full of toppings and then put them in the bag with grease spilling everywhere. Then we were told that you only give out containers (perfect for these potatoes) if you are ordering through doordash! ?? It made no sense to me and makes for a poor presentation. Please put food like this in an actual to-go container and not just wrap it in foil and drop it in a bag. It gets very messy.

Tonight I gave Jr’s BBQ one more chance. I go when I am having to get home in a hurry and still have not had dinner. The service is excellent! All the girls are friendly! The sides are the bomb. I had a 2 meat plate. The Bridket was not bad, However that chicken, is a complete disappointment. It is dry and why I keep going back to the same thing is beyond me but this will be the last time I have it. I also did not appreciate the coughing that was occurring standing over the meat with no mouth covering! Everyone is doing everything they can to stay well. This is not a good practice. I will stay away no worries

Sliced beef was dry as a Popeyes biscuit! You will definitely need to bring your own seasoning and run the meat under some water before microwaving it to give it a little moisture. It's extremely dry and lack flavor.

We have been going here for 20 years. We have always loved the food and people who work there. But the last three visits they now have an incredibly rude young lady working the drive through window. On top of being rude she has gotten our order wrong every single time because she is so impatient! If this continues we will start going to Bubbas BBQ in Ennis!

We recently moved to Ovilla and while traveling Ovilla road often wondered why Junior’s was so packed all the time. So yesterday we decided to find out and give Junior’s a try, but we are still wondering why the parking lot and drive-thru stay packed. It must be small town options and loyalty. Extremely disappointed! I don’t even know where to begin, but the food was terrible. Order: Husband - half baked ribs with smoked flavor, Great Value bbq sauce right out the bottle. Potato salad was good, flavorless pinto beans, one-sided toast. Me - chopped rotisserie chicken cause it surely wasn’t smoked, Great Value BBQ sauce right out the bottle, Allen green beans right out the can, over-fried splinters (Okra), one-sided toast. Our daughter - Chicken fried tough sandwich I mean steak sandwich, curly fry tips/pieces. The 4.4 starts had to be from previous owners because what we experienced is impossible. Go to SoulMans they never disappoint us!

Just had lunch at this Red Oak location we spent 46.00 for 2 lunch combos 2meats 2 veggies 1 slice of toast first of all in the culinary business always watch for perfect food presentation it doesn’t mean the food is perfect I ordered the BBq chicken and the ribs the chicken was sliced chicken Brest which is a cheap barbecue performance I’m use to whole chicken process where there’s bones legs thighs wings and breast this was a rotisserie smoked process the ribs were decent the sauce was fair it wasn’t homemade it was concocted bottle sauce with a few additional additives the links were not 5star we ordered a side of links for 6.00$ it was approximately 1 link that dried up 1 minute after it was served as if it was day old product I recognized the pork.chicken,beef flavor which won’t last smoking you need 100% beef where there’s fat in the process which expands the flavor the ribs were somewhat flavorable at first but dried out before we finished eating and were tuff now the veggies can green beans the Italian ones no flavor bland and almost cold the potatoe salad was like mashed potatoes with eggs and bairly any Mayonnaise no dill relish no celery no mustard it was a poor excuse for German potatoe salad which uses Red potatoes I’m from Essen Germany and they would have credisize this potatoe salad thouroughly to ad injury to insult I spoke with the owner Mr Ryan who claim to be aprecitive of my remarks but never said he’d comp me for my disappointment not even half off our next visit to prove the horrible taste experience when you spend 45.00 for about 6.00 worth of taste then when you order food if it’s good you ask for to go plates we left that mess there I felt totally ripped from this experience they have 5 stars but that could be his own people I’d challenge this business any day of the week to his whole menu be careful at this location it isn’t worth it and it isn’t good at all the toast and bbq sauce were the best along with the sweet tea but they can’t bbq

I really miss the last owners and employees! They were so sweet and upbeat. Now since they sold it to another person. The employees have no sense of humor and not upbeat. It’s really sad…. Jr that I knew was all about home town vibe and everyone smiling. Food is still great just not the people working.

Real Review. Like many others, I read the reviews so I thought I'd check this place out. Went for dinner and I spent right at $70 bucks. Pinto beans and Green beans had absolutely no flavor. Potato salad looks good but is not. Onion rings tasted like they were fried in old grease. The baked potatoe (without meat) was ok but how do you mess that up? I mean it's a potato. Ribs were definitely not barbecued or smoked because they were broiled (Not Good). Banana pudding is simply a Jello pudding with vanilla wafers on top which a toddler would love. Girls working on the food line need gloves on. I literally saw them grabbing their phones and then handle food. (Not good) My Rating 3.5 out of 10. Don't take my word for it, try it for yourself. First time and last time. I saw their positive reviews and decided to give them a try. However there was no BBQ flavor on the ribs I purchased. We did eat a few. Look at the picture I attached below. But there was a full parking lot of people.....you spend your money and judge for yourself. A cautionary tale.

Waited for like an hour but I understand the weather is bad so no big deal. The food was horrible the bbq sauce and beans had not flavor their brisket was undercooked, it was hard to eat it had to put it back in the oven.

Where to start….. waited at the window for 10 minutes with not a single employee in sight. The only saving grace was a customer who walked into the dine in area. Once my order was finally taken. The rib plate with ocra and fries. The sides were good but the ribs were dry,and tough to chew. Overall the experience could be a lot better.

So we drove an hour to try this bbq place. To only get baked ribs the worst pinto beans and even more horrible mayo potato salad. My jumbo baked potato was a standard size potato and half a cup of chopped beef, sliced cheese and store bought bacon bits. And no bbq sauce on it. It's a hard pass next time for me.

Just try them for the first time. Bbq was not on point ribs taste like they was 3 days old sausage taste like them eckrich sausages just with some smoke on them macaroni tastes like the box macaroni.Green beans was just nasty banana pudding, what's all around?That was just pudding, a couple bananas.That's it. I don’t know where the 0-Star button is, but I wish Google could expands their capabilities of having a 0-Star. I just moved to Dallas, so this may be coming from a unique point of view…I was use to a certain level of appreciation to the customer. The customer experience here is unbelievably bad. You would think with service that bad, the food would at least be good with proper seasoning and flavors. Not to mention the focus should be on better portions for $20. I understand this is a family run establishment, but clearly they are chasing profits in this establishment. I’ll leave a picture and you can judge for yourself. And before leaving I looked around to see the portions of other and they too were very light. Now keep in mind I come from a different city so maybe this is a Dallas thing. I will take my business to another place, see how that experience goes. But this by far was an eye opening experience for me. I’m use to BBQ spots being run by families who value and appreciate the customer more than this. If I had gotten a drink the meal would have been $24. If anyone can respond to this message and give me some other options for BBQ places in Dallas I would appreciate it. Don’t mind driving, so small towns welcome.
