First dinner as a new family with my cohabitants. Wasn't sure what to expect, having never been to Denny's before. Fantastic service! The air conditioning wasn't working properly, but the staff alerted us to this right away and apologized for the inconvenience. Professional and courteous presentation made the night fun and enjoyable. 5/5!

I was door dashing Christmas eve and even though it was crazy busy with to go orders and delivery orders with many drivers hassling the employees the staff worked as a team and handled business!!!!!

Okay here it is folks! I usually don't review chains but I have to say Denny's has stepped up their game, especially the hamburger menu, look at this hamburger, it was a real eye roller. Juicy and delicious for sure, I'm going back for it again. This is the Denny's on hilltop drive next to Taco Bell not the one on cypress!

We had been looking for a Denny's since we left Washington, heading south towards home in No. California. Finally found this one on our second day on the road, placed conveniently for a mid morning breakfast! My husband enjoyed Steak & Eggs, and I loved the Cheesesteak Omelet. They kept my husband's coffee cup full, and made a new pot of ice tea for me. We stuffed ourselves, took half my omelet & toast as leftovers, and headed on home. Easy on-off the I-5, quick service, exactly what I'd expect a Denny's to be. Close to other services (gas, etc.) Only problem I had was the HEAT so early in the day, but what do you expect from Redding in the early summer? The restaurant itself, of course, had perfect A/C coolness😊. Yes, we would go back in a minute.

It’s a very nice location. Not sure what people expected. The waitress was working very hard. The food was delicious and correct. The bill was even cheaper than what I expected.

My hostess and my waitress were so sweet, the place is very disabled friendly for disabled persons which is just amazing especially because there is a lot of space to get around and the food is so so so good. 100% recommend, thanks for an unforgettable experience!

This particular location is fantastic. The staff always makes me feel welcome. They are willing to work with all of my picky daughters , to get them exactly what they want off the menu. They are prompt with refills on drinks and the food is always exactly what you would expect it to be. They will typically let me take the table in the rear of the store with my family of 5 and it's very comfortable. Would recommend them for sure .

I came into Denny's to look at the menu, I had a little more than ten dollars and wanted some eats! The hostess was quick to say hi and provide me menu. Every meal was out of my price range, about 12.99 or like 15.99 for the chicken fried steak. I knew I couldn't afford it so as I was leaving, my eye caught the al la carte sides and onion rings sounded goooood. The price was right, 4.99. I sat up at the bar and the ladies in staff took care of me real nice. Their wifi was hella good too, faster than the mobile data fo sho. The nice, big, hot onion rings came and she served them with ranch dip too, didn't even have to ask...fire! They did provide extra sauce when it was requested. I wanted my check pretty much right away so after 10 minutes of eating, I almost choked when I saw my 8 onion rings came out to 9.50. that was NOT the price on the menu. My heart kind of ssnk, because I'm not a cheapskate. And it's not the staff's fault that the price doesn't match the menu. So I had to give every dollar I had, but if I was going to spend $12 for a meal, I should have just got the double cheeseburger, you know what I'm saying? If I had of known that I was going to pay $950 instead of 499, I would not have eaten there. I've since gone back in one of the Denny's staff patiently explained to me the pricing difference, that there are a couple of different entries for particular items although I can't remember the exact details. It might be good to ask a couple of extra questions just so you are not surprised

I am not one to write reviews but as I was telling my wife the night shift at the Denny's in Redding is a cut above the rest. It seems like no matter what night I go Carmen and Joe are always there. While the rest of the world is asleep, the night shift crew here is absolutely crushing it. The energy is fantastic- they're friendly and always seems to be in great spirits, no matter how late it is. The food is consistently perfect, which is no small feat during the late-night bar rush. You have never seen people work that hard at 3am before. The entire restaurant can be full, but Carmen will still take the time to make sure we get what we want, ask how we are and overall have a good experience. It is a well-known fact in my social circle what the "good nights" to go to Denny's are. However, I will say that the redheaded gals cooking skills are growing by leaps and bounds. My go-to is the All-American slam, and every time, the eggs are cooked exactly like I like them, the bacon is crispy, and the pancakes are light and fluffy. It is clear that they take pride in their work and want you to be happy with your meal and your experience while there. This is the way to build repeat customers. They have a slew of regulars they know by name that come through at all hours of the night. The service is fast but you do not feel rushed, and even when the place is full you will get your drink refilled and your food will be hot. The atmosphere is laid back and welcoming. This crew really makes you feel at home. All of Redding is having trouble with the homeless population but Denny's is firm but respectful with them and realizes the value in keeping good relations with your surroundings. They have offered to walk us to our car if we ever felt unsafe. I just really wanted them to get a big shout out to the entire night shift team; you really make it feel like my neighborhood diner. Keep up the good work

Wow, how nice to come into such a friendly and inviting restaurant. Happened in for lunch and got way more than that. Food was delicious! Predictable and satisfying! But… our server, ‘John’ who also happened to be the manager was super! Very helpful, polite, professional and service conscious. THEN… when his serving shift concluded, and he grabbed the mop and scrub brush to spic and span the front area entryway. He said… “yes… I’ve got to make sure it’s right for my guests. “ How inspiring! What a great experience! This guy deserves a raise. Make it happen!!!! Thanks John! Thanks Dennys!

Rhonda was super awesome and deserves a promotion! She helped me figure out a substitute for my desert fast and with a smile on her face, I do feel that she goes above and beyond to make sure the customers are satisfied, a lot of people forget how important customer service is, a poor attitude can ruin a restaurant experience that people save up and look forward to. The restaurant was super clean customer service was excellent,t only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the portion on the $16 bake at home pie was pretty small. Other than that I am extremely happy with my experience and will be returning.

I love this place every time I go. My last visit, however not good. After finally getting to order, I watched as the restaurant cleared out. Upon asking, I was informed that our order never made it to the cook. Two hungry bored kids waiting for over an hour. The head waitress did her best to make it up to us, and the young lady who didn't turn in our order began apologizing. One mistake and a rather big one won't keep me away just yet..

Establishment was clean, quiet and efficient. Will we return? Yes at some time in the future.

God I love Denny's at least I used to. It was always a reliable place to get a quick meal if not a really good meal. I arrived at this location in the parking lot. Was about 2/3 full. The restaurant was also 2/3 full but most of the tables that were empty were covered with dirty dishes. The hostess was very polite and friendly and asked me to wait. After I arrived I saw several groups of people coming in and get turned away because there just wasn't any place to seat them. There was a problem in the kitchen because the food was great but it took forever to get there.

I was skeptical about stopping at this Denny's at 9pm. The exterior lighting was not working, so it was a dark walk toward the entrance at the back of the building. But overall the service, waitress and the food were good😊

Stopped at this Denny’s on the way to Oregon last week for breakfast. The food and service were good so I can’t complain about that. Unfortunately, there were bums everywhere in the vicinity. We felt a bit like going somewhere else, but we were hungry. Definitely some scary people hanging around there. It’s a good place to stop if you’re hungry, but don’t stay long.

After ordering by phone the person on the other was unable to get my order correctly. So I hung up and went in person. They were very polite and apologized. I placed my order and it took 35 minutes after I paid for it for it to be ready. Steak, eggs and hash browns and scrambled eggs, hash browns and bacon.

Same Denny's atmosphere I love. The Greeter/Waitress was great 👍👍. Coffee was so bitter even 4 sugars couldn't cover it. I ordered biscuits and gravy . . . The gravy was tasteless and rather than chop the sausage up and mix it in there were simply 5 pieces around the plate. And although it was warm I wouldn't consider it hot. Being a big fan of Denny's for decades this experience was quite a let down 👎👎👎.

I'm not sure why but this place is pretty dirty , considering that soposluy their cleaning all the time since Covid-19 came out. I'm sure this restaurant can do better. They have a wonderful staff but of course in this time there are not enough servers. Two people were trying to serve the whole restaurant. They did their best and I thought a good job. The restaurant itself was filthy! The man cleaning the tables was only wiping the table tops. Hence the chairs and the booths were full of food and gunk. The windows had food dripping down them. The food arrived hot and was good. I know staff is hard to get, BUT if it were my restaurant, I would be there cleaning up myself. No one wants to eat in a dirty place 😒

This is the Denny's that my boyfriend and I usually go to because they are open later. I had mixed experiences here but I don't expect much given my experiences at other Denny's. That said, last night was seriously disappointing. To be clear, the staff was not a problem. They did everything they could do to make up for issues I can only blame on management/the owners. To start, the sign's light was out. Even the parking lot was super dark to the point we weren't sure if the place was even open. We mentioned it to the staff and we're told it was broken. I tried to order a smoothie but their blender was broken. Then, I ordered a strawberry lemonade but the waitress returned and told me they were out of the syrup to make it. So I ended up getting a sprite because I knew for sure they had that available. I overheard the staff mention that they were out of other stuff and they had to put a sign on the door to close the restaurant an hour early. On top of all that, the ranch tasted like it had spoiled and the onion rings tasted like maybe they were freezer burnt. Our waitress was a sweetheart and I could tell she was a bit flustered because the shortages. She is the only reason that I didn't rate this place 1 star. She was on top of the drink refills and provided good service.

We have been coming here for years. But recently the food has been awfull. New cook? My sausage and bacon was cold didn't even looked cooked at all. Hashbrowns was so burnt you couldn't even cut them. Silverware was super dirty. Waitress was really nice and was very disappointed for the bad things that were happening. Cook and busboy need to be fired. Will not return until we know there is a new cook. Super bummed cause my family really likes going to denny's.

There was no wait and it was pretty quiet in the restaurant, however the food portions were very small especially for the Grand Slam. Our food sat on the counter for about 20 minutes before the waitress brought it to us; this shouldn't have happened considering it was only our table and 3 other people. The food was cold and the sausage tasted more like cleaner than meat. The bathrooms also smelled like a sewer.

This place was a hole in the wall. The service was crappy the food was disgusting, and they have the nerves to charge you. So much money we had 2 children's plates. And a chicken tenders plate off the adult meal, which that was good. It came with macaroni and cheese and French fries. That was really good. But then my son had the macaroni and cheese platter with the BBQ burnt ends, and they meant what they said that BBQ was so burnt. You could not even chew the meat. It was horrible. And the macaroni and cheese that came with it was so watery. And they had the nerves to charge $20 for that And I had the senior cheesy egg And Pancake meal, the eggs were hard. The meat was hard. I would not recommend this place

Dennys has gone down so badly. The last few times I've gone here it's been awful. I ordered the chicken fried steak today which was actually pretty good but my eggs were so bad I almost threw up it tasted like fridge and chemicals. The bathroom was so bad couldn't even use it.

Went in around 10 pm from out of town. It didn’t seem busy as we seated ourselves with menus. After about 5 minutes of waiting to order, we probably waited an additional 15 - 20 minutes to get our food. Food was burnt and over salted. The rice was very dry and stuck together. We were also given a sad looking side of bread that was tasteless and dry. Had to finish the whole glass of water before leaving. Go across the street and you might get a better experience, or just go to one of the fast food places nearby.

Seriously, worst restaurant experience I have EVER had! I have NEVER had as bad of an experience anywhere before as I did here. I just got off of a 15 hour shift and desperately needed some food as i hadnt eaten all day. Figured Dennys was the only thing open besides fast food and was worth a shot. First off, it was about 9:30-9:45pm, so not busy at all. We ordered and it took 30 minutes for us to get our food. We ordered an appetizers and the mozzarella sticks came out completely cold. Then when she took them to reheat she threw them in the microwave and they exploded all the cheese and we ended up with hollow shells in a bowl of cheese. Then came our food and there was eggs shells in the eggs, the ham steak was so leathery it was nearly impossible to cut, and the chicken fried steak was cold and tasted like cat food. 🤢 Actually, I seriously think fried cat food would have tasted better. I didn't even eat it passed a very VERY small nibble to taste it, and I almost puked just at that. Even the toast was barely toasted and had like a pound and a half of butter on it! Hands down the worst $50 I've EVER spent and I will be calling to get my money back. Never coming here again!

Passing through on vacation, we planned to stop and eat, and we see about 40 homeless openly doing drugs in the parking lot. It's definitely not a safe looking area. If you have an RV, odds are your chairs and stuff that would be stripped off the RV while you ate.

I placed an online order on June 30th at 10:45 PM and arrived at the Redding, CA location around 11:00 PM for pickup. My food was supposed to be ready by 11:12, but it never came. I repeatedly followed up—at 11:20, 11:30, 11:40—only to be told it wasn’t ready. After nearly an hour, they finally admitted they had forgotten the order. No apology. Just rudeness. If this is how Denny’s treats its customers, it’s truly disappointing.

The food I received today was absolutely gross! Ordered breakfast consisting of egg, bacon, sausage, has browns and English muffin. The total price was 20 dollars and some change which was ridiculous as well. The sausage had a sour taste I literally spit it out. I asked for over easy eggs and got scrambled with cheese that were somehow burned and watery at the same time. Bacon was under cooked and chewy. Hashbrowns were perfect though, and they did put plenty utensils and condiments in another bag which I appreciated.

Over 1.5 hr wait. Had 3 employees working forcing an elderly waitress to overwork herself. They focus more on doordash orders than serving those inside Order was 47 dollars for cold luke warm food. The manager refused to discount our coffee charging us 8 dollars for 2 cups

Stopped by there last Monday for a quick late breakfast. Arrived shortly after 10am. When I first walked in, I was shocked to see the place really needs to be shut down, cleaned and have numerous amounts of damage repaired. We took out seats. Now understand, I just had a knee and hip replacement, and my buddy that was with us is in a wheel chair and my wife is leading the way for us directly behind the waitress, who decided we need to be seated in the farthest most inconvenient seat that they offered. We sat down in our booth and started looking at menus. Of course, everything on the menu looked killer. Roughly 15 minutes went by and our waitress (let's call her Flo) came and took out orders and shortly after that brought us our drinks. I ordered coffee, well about the third refill I was starting to get a bit frustrated as to how much longer our food is take to get to us. Now at this time folks around us that came in after us, ordered....ate.... Chatted amongst themselves and were leaving.... Know this, I'm not the guy who can get their mouths shut in most situations. And before I was even able to speak one word, I noticed wife was also frustrated by our situation, for the simple fact we were not there too hang out, I just recently had major surgery. And she flagged "Flo" down and she acted really concerned. And said she'd get to the bottom of it immediately... Where I come from when someone says their gonna get to the bottom of something, it typically meant that moment... Instead I feel she went out on break, had here nails done at the salon, and shopped for car insurance in her car, then came in to let us know that the order is up and will only be a few minutes... Ok....STOP!! Is what I was thinking, but instead, I smiled and said no problem, we've already been there for almost two hours at this point...... Tick Tok..... Time just keep slipping away And then shortly after noon I see here bringing some plates out way....I hurried up and made room for our plates, and "ZooM,!! There goes Flo again with food for the guest that arrived well over and hour after we did.... At this point I just want to pay for the drinks and head out... My wife asked me to give her another minute, and sure enough... Here comes Flo with more food, and guess what? It was ours....yeah!!! I'm virtually ready to eat wallet. So my buddy was served his, then my wife hers... And then Flo just walked away.....I have her about seven minutes and that's where I blew a fuse. Asked my wife if it was wrong of me just to leave, because I want going to watch them eat and continue to still wait. She said that would be fine and she'll get my food and bring it out to the car, if and when it arrives. I handed my wallet to her so she could settle the bill, walked out to car and waited roughly until just before 1 pm and they came out with my meal. Which I must say tasted and looked nothing like the menu. Had a dish soap taste to it and the meal was cold. I could say without hesitation that Denny's in Redding is now completely off a place to stop for food and service, and the sad part is, I really have a lot of good food and service on the past, my family has been going to that same Denny's for over 20 years... What a day I should say, and wish you the best of luck.

Management gets 0 stars. Expecting two older women to run the entire restaurant on a Sunday rush by themselves is a joke. They cannot handle that much on their own, and you are clearly too cheap to hire extra help. If you want someone who can actually handle running the business, contact me.

Over done chicken, and look at how much syrup they put n my mango lemonade. It was so thick, I couldn't even drink it. I don't know if they don't know their job or if they thought because I'm black and basically ordered chicken and lemonade that this is how I would like it....

If I could give a negative star I would give -10. NEVER again will I go back. It's dirty, cold food, over priced, terribly cooked, bad service. The wait alone for cold bad food. Just wanted to leave. Do not go here.

It took 30 minutes or more before we got our breakfast..then it took another 15 minutes for our toast and milk..worst service ever! Not going their again!!

Homeless people taken over parking lot. Employee washing pans in the parking lot. Bathroom dirty, no paper towels. Told employee right when I got here. Ordered crispy hashbrowns, they didn't come out that way, she said she would remove from bill and didn't. Went to leave and use bathroom again... still messy and no paper towels, told the employee again. And the amount of spider webs on the ceiling!!!

They basically said they were to busy and refused us service. Even though there were only a few people inside. They explained to use the had 4 online orders so because of that it would be best if we went somewhere else

The staff was good people but the place is deplorable. Dirty dishes stacked up. Tables dirty. People lying in bathroom on the floor. Dirty windows. The place stinks. 2 thumbs down.

Your employees are not your free maintenance workers. They sign a job description. That man had ZERO business being under that stove for you!

We went to have lunch today and while waiting for the food that we ordered from our amazing waiter I caught the cook constantly messing with his nose the entire time he was making our food. After I stopped recording thinking that it couldn't possibly get any worse than this... my husband saw him taking a piece of the bacon from his burger and tossing it up into his mouth. Unfortunately the bacon fell right back out on to the same plate he grabbed it from. I am completely grossed out that this is the kind of cook that Denny's has back there. This used to be one of my favorite places to eat.

Not sure where to start. Very slow service. We were told the delay was because the cook was sick, then later told he wasn’t contagious but had been “beat up.” Our server seemed stoned (sorry if this is his baseline). He was more focused on chatting/flirting with a coworker than attending to tables. We could see into the kitchen area and watched the cook spit into a napkin and watched him drop food into his mouth while working—gross and concerning from a hygiene standpoint. Bathrooms were filthy. Didn’t dare touch the food and ran next door to the Black Bear.

I went into my local Denny's for a birthday breakfast. It was next to impossible to get the data intended for this perk. I had a large party with me, and because of this, we all left. Won't be coming back.

Spent just under an hour waiting for our food. Wasn't checked on after we ordered. Asked about our food and they made a big deal about us asking. There were only 2 other tables in the restaurant at the time. This location has gotten worse and worse in the last 6 months. We use to come all the time for late night snacks and family meals now we don't even want to come back.

It was extremely expensive just to have sausage gravy added with a biscuit that had a couple tbsp of gravy with little season in it, biscuit was ok eggs too but the shake was tiny, and paying $26.97 for a $6.99 value slam n shake adding $5 for sausage gravy that comes on biscuits or added no charge others when travel, it's not fun on a trip. Scrambled don't look like an omelette but tasted good.

I came here today. I didn't like the food at all, and the girl at the reception had a bad way of speaking. She was extremely rude, and the food was absolutely terrible. I would recommend it to anyone. Don't go here. You'll waste both your time and money. And If the girl here asks you something, you answer her very angrily and very badly.

Food took over an hour to get then it was cold. Elderly gentleman seated behind me also waited over an hour just to be told they are out of the food he ordered. My grandma ordered biscuits and gravy and received a soggy biscuits with hardly any gravy. Highly do not recommend wasting your time here.

Showed up to get food with my family and when we arrived, my girlfriend needed to use the restroom when I asked for the code I was given a number. I then told the wait staff that we had 5 people. They asked us to wait and ran off without another word. We waited 30 minutes for menus, 15 for our order and an hour and 45 on our food! When we got the food it was burnt and all around pretty bad. Won't be coming back. Saw 3 other groups get up and leave after notgetting helped. Should have done the same. Don't risk it. Came for the cheap food, left annoyed and like my day was wasted.
