Enjoyed breakfast and conversation. Place has comfortable, spacious seats&booths for eating. You know it good when the parking lot starts to fill up fast= snooze you lose! French toast was fluffy, light and good. Staff is charming and efficient. Great place,people, atmosphere. Also if you look up they have trains and tracks going around the ceiling= conversation piece with the young ones & young at heart.

Delicious food at good prices! I really liked their Chicken and Waffles. The chicken was juicy, well seasoned, and had a crunchy, not-so-dense breading. It went well with the fluffy waffles. 💯💯 My girlfriend and I enjoyed all the dishes we ordered suchs as the omelettes and the ham and eggs. Both times we visited were really busy! Almost every table was occupied, but we still got our food quickly and felt like the waitress was attentive to all our needs. This is one of best diners I've been to in terms of food, service, and overall vibe. We will come back if we visit Redding again

Great local eating establishment. Went in early, before 8:00 a.m., and they had some specials at a great price. Not sure if that's a weekday morning thing or not, but for the price it's worth going. Got both specials, chicken, fried steak and Italian sausage, and even though they were supposed to be small portions, they were huge and enough to feed our family of four. One thing to keep in mind is that extras cost extra. Onions and peppers in the potatoes was a buck, substituting biscuits and gravy instead of the bread was $3.19. Not a big deal, but wasn't denoted at the time. I thought getting the biscuits and gravy was well worth the price, but I'd go with hash browns over the country potatoes. Service was friendly and quick. Definitely somewhere we will be back to.

Jamie, our server, was a sight for sore eyes. Food was plentiful and fairly priced. As to the gourmet aspect in regard to their omelette preparations, let’s just say a little above average. Coffee Mugs cool looking, coffee quality slightly above average to be nice. They have their own personable place, and apparently many glowing reviews. Does it beat Denny’s? No doubt. Black Bear yes. Will I stop by again, doubtful. Service right on the money. 4 Stars.

Food was very good, just sorry if straight forward. Heard some people walking out saying "That's just a solid breakfast place, not frills and nonsense" (Slightly edited for language) and it's true. I had the Southwest Skillet and it was good, nothing especially fancy, but solidly good. Wife had the house-made Corned Beef Hash with eggs and hash browns that was solidly good and a slightly unique flavor. Fresh ingredients and cooked well. The biscuits and gravy were definitely worth it, best thing we had. Bacon was excellent. And the coffee...oh the coffee...! Service was excellent. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Izabellah was awesome, friendly and checked on us repeatedly even though it wasn't her job. She even checked that we liked everything and asked what we ordered. Stephanie gave suggestions that, for some unknown reason, we didn't follow. I would suggest listening because that would probably take the food to 5 stars. Also, the food came out quickly and hot. The staff made us feel like the only diners. The atmosphere is basically straight up diner, but with a Western / Cowboy twist. Everything was clean. A little in the noisy side, but that's the diner feel. Biggest atmosphere lack was the non-functional train; lost nostalgia there. It has the feel of an upscale cabin in the woods only missing the trees out the windows. This place was recommended as a favorite of Redding, and we can see why. Will be back and we'll see you there!

We got seated promptly. The service was great. The restaurant is clean. The food was good but nothing special. There was not a lot of bacon in my omelet, maybe 1 piece, it wasn't cut up. The potatoes tasted a little freezer burnt. The prices are good. Restrooms are clean.

First time going to this establishment. I have lived here many years and have not gone here because of their hours. They ONLY serve breakfast and lunch. The atmosphere is unique as it has a very Western feel to it. An electric toy train rumbles around a track overhead as you eat. Our server, Kasie, was quick on her feet and attentive to our order. The menu is decent for a restaurant that's only open for 2/3 of the eating day. It took us some time to go through the items. The food was very good. I ordered the big stack....and OMG was it. That big plate of food to see in the picture is it. Way more than I could handle and at a decent price. The other dish was the country omelet. This dish was VERY good, according to my GF. Coffee was delicious. For both of us to eat was around $35. The only bad thing I really have to say is that the milk was going bad that was served to me, and my server quickly replaced with orange juice. Other than that, we will be going back to try them out for lunch. Hope you enjoyed my review. Please follow me for more future reviews like this one. I also travel to Sacramento and Reno quite a bit, so also do reviews for places there as well.

We are usually pleased with everything. I wont complain or send food back. My eggs were hard ,not...over easy as ordered and the hash browns were extremely over cooked like potato sticks. Thanks for caring.

I refuse to ever order for delivery again. To be clear. In house the food is great. But Doordashed its garbage. Try to get eggs over easy. I even tried poached easy. Worked ONCE. After without exaggeration 6 attempts, I receive over hard or poached ping pong balls. AGAIN...IN HOUSE = AWESOME! Delivery is garbage

Ordered eggs Benedict. Terrible food. The eggs were way overcooked, the English muffin was flat, and the hollandaise was the consistency of snot. It was not buttery, lemony creamy as it should be. In fact it had a weird spiciness. Ick! Country potatoes were not cooked. They shouldn't be crunchy Service was OK but server never came back after dropping the plate. Had to go to the counter to get my bill. All around not enjoyable.

We were seated and they brought us our drinks fairly fast, we sat waiting for our food order to be taken, once it was, we waited over 30 minutes to arrive, ( they weren't very busy), and once we ate it took another 30 minutes to pay our bill, one of our party order fish & chips that arrived roughly 10 minutes after everyone else's food was delivered, his fish & chips had a very strong odor of fish,( being from the seafood industry, you shouldn't ever be able to smell white fish). Overall, the rest of food was okay, which was a disappointment because it's a very cool independently owned restaurant.

Place is cute. The kids loved the train. It was above our table and they need to dust. I was waiting for dust bunnies to drop down onto my food. Luckily it didn’t. I had the pesto Benedict. One of my poached eggs came out boiled. If you put something on the menu it better be right. This is how I judge any breakfast establishment with eggs Benedict on their menu. Unfortunately they came up short. But with a little work, they should be able to turn it around.

The service was not good!! Stood there for 20 minutes just for them to say it will be another 20-30 minutes per manager!! They could seat you but you couldn’t order food!! Like what?! Very poor customer service!! It wasn’t just us either that left this place!! So we went to Black Bear Diner and had a wonderful breakfast! Will NEVER recommend this place!!!
