We came in today for a lunch networking meet-up and left with full bellies and a surprise tour of the distillery 🤩 what an experience! The food was absolutely delicious. We started with the deep-fried avocado (a must-try!), and for mains, I had the Patriots Burger (a perfectly done smash burger), my friend had the famous Riley Burger, and another had the chicken sandwich — all were packed with flavor. We also tried the potato soup, and wow… so good! Big thanks to Jason for the spot-on recommendations 10/10 everything we tried hit the mark. The vibe of the place is just right: warm lighting, whiskey-and-wood decor with a cozy backyard feel, but indoors. Can’t wait to come back!
J Riley is awesome. Eli, our bartender was affable, funny, informed and super helpful. The fish and chips is the best I've had in California and the house single malt whisky is totally delicious. A new favorite place!
What a wonderful surprise J Riley's was. Our friend Jeremy brought us to Redlands for a night on the town and this was our first stop for dinner and drinks. I love all of the wood and exposed beams. They had live music starting outside as we were finishing up. Our server was great and we received our food and drinks very quickly. Below is a run down of our favorite dishes and drinks. Tunacado - Everything about this dish was marvelous. The texture of the tempura fried avocado, freshness of the tuna and that spicy Japanese mayo. Don't let the spice scare you away it's not much heat at all. Even the watermelon radish was a great addition to this dish. The sizing was perfect and could easily be a meal for one or appetizer for two. Plating of this meal is as beautiful. Giant pretzel - Enough for four people easily. Great presentation and beer cheese was just amazing. We also had a large sausage with this that was great especially with the peach bourbon mustard. The Porker - I ordered this without the bun and was really surprised how much I liked it. I'm from North Carolina so our bar b que sauce is vinegar based which I prefer. The sauce on this was very good, not too sweet and it wasn't poured on more like tossed which I appreciated so I could taste the flavor in the braided pork. Side garden salad - Very tasty dressing (champagne vinaigrette) and paired with the porker it was more than enough food. Penicillin - I had a sip of my friends and wow the whiskey forward cocktail was delightful and maybe a little dangerous as it hides that strong alcohol flavor very well.
Great place to come and have a few delicious drinks. Nice atmosphere, great drinks and awesome staff. UPDATE(5/15/21) Came to the new location which now sells food and this place is great. Had the hot chicken sandwhich and a pretzel which was on point. The burgers where also good which I had a taste off from someone in my party that ordered one. The wait was a bit long one hour compared to when it was only a distillery which kind of sucked specially if someone just wants to get a drink. But overall I enjoyed the experience.
Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere, the sidecar is excellent. The pretzel is well worth the visit. The best big pretzel I’ve had in California with an amazingly low pricing since it comes with a sausage. Among the burgers/sandwiches we tried, the bread they use is absolutely the star of the show here (grilled cheese sourdough is from village bread calimesa, which I’m a huge fan of). We tried the bbq pork sliders, blue cheese burger, and kids menu grilled cheese; of which my daughters grilled cheese stole the show with the amazing bread and grill job. For drinks we tried the old fashioned, Manhattan, and sidecar; of which I highly recommend the sidecar. Service was great and the staff/menu are very kid friendly. Overall I highly recommend for ppl who want a chill atmosphere with great cocktails and food.
The feeling of this rustic restaurant is unmatched to all of the local dine in restaurants. The walls roll open to a large patio leaving you with fresh air and a wide open floor plan. It will definitely give you the distillery vibe....Its not just a name. They have a variety distilled spirits also done in house. Whiskey, Bourbon, Vodka & Gin. With a U shaped bar that accomodates the open floor plan perfectly. They offer entertainment with comedy nights and dueling pianos. Enough about the aesthetics. Now it's time to dive into the food. 😋. The pulled pork is juicy and tender leaving your taste buds begging for just one more slider (the secret is in the sauce). The J. Riley Burger is loaded with flavor. 8 oz Angus beef, Bourbon BBQ sauce, Candied Bacon, Cheddar Cheese and fresh crispy shallots that add to it's flavor and provide that perfect little crunch for texture. (The candied bacon is to die for.) I highly recommend this entree. You can add egg, avocado or even replace the Angus beef with a impossible patty if you're into that. You can substitute fries with onion rings, fresh fruit, salad or crinkle fries. Some substitutions do have an additional cost. The service is impeccable. The servers are attentive and knowledgeable of the menus. Both food and distilled spirits. Long story short..... The food, service and drinks are amazing and I recommend you come here. Trust me once you come here you will definitely come back again and again.
Casual, open environment with live music, awesome food, and great service! It gets busy, but this only adds to the ambience in a positive way. We had the loaded fries appetizer, which was tasty and big enough to share. Then I had a burger with an added egg on top... The meat was so fresh and delicious, I was seriously impressed! Server Maribel was so nice and came to fill our waters at least 10 times! Really fun place, really great food... Highly recommend.
We had a dinner party of 6 on a friday night just after 730. It was busy but worth the wait! Everything hit the spot from the appetizers to the main course, oh and can't forget about the drinks!!! Our server was Kyle and he was top notch aka youngblood. Looking forward to another visit and trying more of the menu.

The drinks were great! I ordered the loaded fries, but was disappointed with both the taste and presentation. That said, I’d definitely come back just for the drinks.
J Riley is located in a good area of town. They have a lot of seating inside and out. They have a good selection of food items to choose from. I ordered The Porker, Pulled Pork with bourbon sauce, coleslaw and pickles, it was very good. My husband ordered the Wedge Salad and liked it, lots of bacon on it. We went on a Friday night and watched the Dueling Pianos. People write down songs on paper for them to sing. When we’ve seen Dueling Pianos in other places they make lots of jokes and there can be a lot of laughing. This did not happen with these two guys. Not really any jokes and one of the guys sang off tune with a few songs. J Riley will be having them once a month.
Cool spot. Been wanting to go here and finally did. It's a real nice place. Great atmosphere and buzz. They make their own whiskey, so that is what they serve. They do have beer options as well, local breweries and other options. They're appetizers are good. We got the pretzel and fries. Good portions. Their menu selection is not big. Some salads, burgers and sandwiches. I was hoping for more variety when it came to their food menu. They do have whiskey bottles you can buy. I recommend their Rye bottle, it's I thing $68 for a 375ml bottle. I also liked the open concept... they open the doors and it feels like you're in a big patio. Give it a try though! I'm sure you will have fun...
The servers were so nice! We got their six spirit flight, a moonshine drink, a blackberry drink (I forgot the names), the tunacado, and the nachorones. The two drinks were good. The tunacado was really good! The nachorones were alright. There were pieces in there that didn't get fried all the way and were extremely hard. The flight was good! But, I couldn't help but notice that the nose on all of them were a bit strong on the acetone/alcohol smell. My favorite was their higher proof bourbon! Aside from the smell, the spirits were good
Second visit to this establishment last weekend mostly because the atmosphere is lively and the building is really cool. It was a bit busy when I arrived, but we were seated quickly and treated well by the waiter. I ordered a Strawberry Sunset (alcoholic beverage), which was a tad on the sweeter side. It was refreshing though, but not very strong. I also had the loaded fries, which were not too bad.
The venue is really cool, big open indoor and outdoor spaces. Pet and kid friendly. The price is average for the area. The food was good, and the menu was simple to navigate. Of course they have a large drink selection, most of the local beers, some others, and really good mixed drinks. Would recommend to give it a try.
Good. Not super inventive menu but I haven’t really been disappointed. I don’t drink so I can’t speak for the bar. Sausages and pretzels are fun. Breakfast on the weekend is also good. Lots of military flags hanging which leads me to worry if it’s an environment with extreme right wing views. So far it has felt safe enough.
I came here with the wife and kids for a simple dinner and some drinks. We parked across the street and walked in through the corner of Eureka and Oriental Avenue. This entrance was a little confusing as you walk-in through the back of the facility. For someone who is new to the place, it can get pretty confusing. My first thought was, "oh, you sit yourself." Quickly we figured out we were on the wrong side. We walked across the restaurant (to the front) to find the hostess. Our waitress for the afternoon was Amelia and she did a wonderful job. She explained the different drinks to us and also recommended a couple. I ordered the “Black Irish Mule.” This drink had a nice flavor of berries to it, with a taste of whiskey. It was very refreshing for a hot summer afternoon. The second drink I ordered was much stronger than the first. The “Outdoorsman” is black pepper infused 1775 whiskey, with honey-Thyme syrup, cardamom & house aromatic blend bitters. The best part of the drink is the outdoor smell!!! The waiter comes over, puts a top over the drink, and smokes the drink. It’s quite a seen and it gives the whiskey a smoky taste. For appetizer we ordered the elote capeado. It’s tempura sweet corn, cotija cheese, chipotle Mayo and cilantro. It did not disappoint!!! I had never tasted anything like it. It was a very unique way to prepare corn. Finally, for the main dish I ordered “The Porker.” It’s a sandwich with drenched house bourbon BBQ pulled pork. It was decent, but I was expecting more flavor out of it. JR distillery gave my family and I a warm welcome. Although this might appear as an adult only place, there were at least three other families as well, enjoying the great ambiance JR distillery has to offer.

This place was pretty good, not the best. I did like the appetizers. The bread stick wheel thing is delicious. Their burgers are good as well. I didn't really care for their onion rings, hard pass. They also have pretty goof drinks. The service is not the best as I think they have to cover too many tables, but nice and friendly atmosphere, good vibes.
The food was delicious and arrived quickly. the staff was friendly and helpful with the menu. The reason for the 3 stars is from the price and portion sizes. If you wanna spend 20 dollars on an okay burger and a plate full of fries then this is the place for you. I ordered the cheapest thing on the menu and it was still 9 dollars and i got what looked to be a total of 1 idaho potatoe.

When it first opened it was our go to! The atmosphere was great the food was amazing menu was so good and the execution was perfect however the last few times we went over the last two years we noticed that the standards have definitely gone down which is a shame because it’s a nice open location with so much potential. we actually miss how it used to be food was extremely basic no flavour and not worth the price at all.
Don't come late, we showed up an hour before they closed and the bartender was very passive aggressive about wanting to be home. Crew ignored us and despite this being one of the few places with a late license to be open, it is a drag. Distilled alcohol is well done. Would give very high marks to them as a producer, just not as a servicer.

I come here a lot but I don’t know what happened this time. Ordered food. 45 minutes later still nothing. We asked them to cancel the order. They went back and brought 2 appetizers and one entree. One appetizer was cold and soggy. The Mac and cheese was solid since it was lukewarm and the chicken was burned. So we had to leave unfortunately.
