Gorgeous building inside and out. Friendly greeting from the owner at the door (thank you Emanuel) and prompt service even while busy. This place delivered a sensational experience with over the top food quality, preparation and professional service. The hustle in the staff was noticeable, the Owners were there throwing a truly amazing party on a Friday night. The vibe was exceptional and the experience was unforgettable. What a Magic place to do business. Thank you for having us and well done on finding a niche in a drastically declining customer service world we are in. Your staff food menu and atmosphere were on point. I'll be back ASAP! The Wow Factor Lives Here.

Amazing food! We had a few things to share. All the seafood was super fresh and well prepared. We had the chili shrimp, anchovy toast, oysters and crab cakes with Caesar salad and cocktails. Really enjoyed everything we had!!

I won't say anything about the fabulous food the tantalizing drinks or the great service but I will say come see for yourself. Redlands best kept secret is doing so well this makes visit number 2 super amazing. Thank you to the host Emmanuel who once again makes it feel like my corner bar at home.

Place oozes sexy, ceiling rustic yet festive, Parisian feel underground Marais joint. Waited for 20 minutes but didn’t feel that long as the friendly greeter brought us our drinks quite quickly, Old Fashioned for hubby, Sazerac for me. Sweet and smooth. Oysters on Half Shells were exquisite, Summer stone takes the cake. Pickering smooth juicy succulent. Ninigret a little griny but ok. Clam soup charming subtle like momma used to make in her Manolo blahnik and Ellie Saab apron with cherry red lipstick and a glass of Chablis. Finished with Lime pie. Didn’t complain. Must come back.

Wow, wow, wow! First time here and the food was beyond expectations. Oyster appetizers are like nothing you have tried before. Alohambra mariscos are something worth driving miles for. As a well traveled food critic this place is off the radar and will soon be a place worth destination travel.

I went in this past Thursday night to see a former Chef of ours. Chef Sharon has such remarkable talent and flair with ANYTHING and everything she creates you leave her table with a longing to return soon. I went with a co-worker and friend of mine... we were so ecstatic to hear that she was the Guest Chef of the week. Our evening began with Oyster Butter Bombs - broiled oysters served with 2 flavored compound butters made with cashews with sea lettuce, fennel/bee pollens on grilled sourdough toast points. Then we dived into the Lobster Mushroom Bisque - Washington state wild foraged lobster mushrooms, shallot, garlic, charred vegetable stock, tomato, white wine, tarragon cream, garlic crouton cultured cashew butter. We soon realized this evening was going to be classic Sharon... but this time all plant based ingredients! We were presented with a End of Summer Tamal next Corn masa, poblano, ortega, russet, fresh corn & blackbean salad, crumbled cheese, lime crema, cilantro, house pique sauce. HOLD UP THO!!! What blew our minds was the Strawberry Rhubarb Gazpacho LAWWWWRRRRRDDDD HAF MERCY!! if ya'll would've seen my eyes roll to the back of my HEADDDDDD! Cucumber, bell pepper, basil, wine vinegar topped with caramelized scallions and morsels of candied strawberries and rhubarb Lord knows I was speaking in TONGUE after THAT!!! lol The Owner is so incredibly kind and hospitable. The tables are cozy so if you are shy about conversations being over heard... you might want to choose another location for those murmurs of sweet nothing *wink, wink. Or save them for later. Beautiful interiors... not enough air circulation for an evening that is weighing heavy from the recent heat wave but if you have an opportunity to come in for these dishes I highly recommend that you do. My fiance wanted to suprise me to celebrate a personal accomplishment by getting me oysters and food from ROC because its one of my favorite restaurants. I am addicted to their food and cocktail's. But, he did not know how to shuck oysters. So, the owner Emmanuel hearing this took the time to teach him how to do it. I have always loved ROC, but it's the small acts of kindness and incredible customer service that makes ROC the best. Thank you!!!

The owner greets nearly every customer himself and is extremely plesent. All of the food is delicious, and all of the cocktails are fantastic. I noticed someone reviewed this place and said the owner is stuck up. That's entirely not the case. I've come here in gym shorts and a T shirt, and I was greeted all the same. Karen probably is just being Karen. This place is fantastic. See my other reviews for credibility.

M

We had an incredible first experience there and can't wait to go back! The owner, Emanuel, personally seated us and chatted for a bit. Best oyster shooters I've ever had! This place is a bit on the pricey side and worth every penny. I'll do my best to single-handedly keep them in business.

J

The vibe of this little hole in the wall is romantic and low key chic. The atmosphere is welcoming and the owner is very personable. My wife and I had the opportunity to watch him in action shucking oysters through the porthole reminiscent of an old maritime window. The minimum order for ordering oysters is 3, but they're so good I would recommend ordering 1 of each per person as a sampler; and then ordering up from there as my wife and I did. At around $3.75 or a pop or $37 per dozen the price of freshness is well worth it. We dined on a Saturday and were thrilled to know the oysters were flown from Massachusetts that morning. While I wouldn't reccomend bringing infants here (as I didn't notice any high chairs), there are maybe 3-4 tables that can seat a young child if necessary. It's important to remember this is indeed a bar ;) and the vibe is intimate enough to be a hot date spot. Also important to note: Oysters are an aphrodisiac...

Love this place and the engagement with the owner. I have been coming here for over 10 years and never had any disappointment. Oysters are ashtrays fresh and delicious.

J

I just had to have oysters on the half shell and I was not disappointed. Usually I refrain from getting oysters on the west coast as they're not as fresh as in the northeast USA or Europe but these were. Looking at what other people were eating it all looked wonderful too. And the ambiance is upscale.

Last night I celebrated a VERY important Wedding Anniversary of seven years of blissful marriage with my Queen; and, Emanuel Jacobson, Johnathan, Savannah, and the rest of the staff at R.O.C. made this day so very special! The extra efforts in going above and beyond with all my romantic requests felt truly magical! This place is more than the exquisite food the city has known it to become, it’s a place of wonderment and warmth. From the service, to the mellow opulence, to inviting ambience - thank you all for making our night wonderfully memorable.

Awesome new local addition to the Redlands food scene. Offering a cool atmosphere and great food and drink, ROC is a must try. Particular favorites are the chowder and the crab cakes, with the oysters also excellent. The place is small and intimate, so offers a perfect location for a date or a night out with friends.

B
Ben Conklin

Amazing place. I originally came in with the intention of getting a dozen oysters but I decided to wander around the menu instead and I am so happy I did. The Aquachile is life changing, with a beautiful light combo of scallop and avacado and moderate spicy oil/dressing. The extremely addictive butter bomb is on point with rich compound butters and oyster juice drizzling over the house bread. Don't worry, plenty of craft cocktails to enjoy along the way Take your time and be ready spend a few bucks, it is worth it! What a gem to add to the growing Redlands scene.

My wife and I are foodies we went here for her birthday we ordered oysters on the half shell crab cakes their famous clams stew they're signature Stillman bread with a whipped seaweed butter Plus key lime pie.... And to their signature drinks as above as below they had gin ginger beer watermelon and lime I believe The whole experience was absolutely amazing The oysters were so fresh and delicious Never have I ever tasted crab cake so good it was amazing light fluffy could have eaten 50 of them And normally I do not like crab cakes The service was off the hook constantly filling our water glasses answering questions that we had and just checking in on us making sure that we were okay.... Just by the reviews that I give you should know that if you're looking for good food you could use me as a reference to know if the food was good or not I'm going to tell you guys right now this was the best I've had in years..... The hardest part about me and my wife going out to eat is that we both can cook whatever we eat better than most restaurants well.... Not last night they completely knocked it out of the ballpark... It would be very hard top what they had cooked for us it was so fresh and it was so made with skilled hands be very hard to top it I suggest you go there as soon as possible they're closed on Tuesdays I think that's when they pick up their orders for their oysters but other than that this place is Dynamite!!!

I've eaten at Redlands Oyster Cult many times since it opened and it's always fantastic. Last Friday my daughter was home from college so we made a last minute run for our favorite food to share and popped in early evening. Having owned a restaurant, I know what a hard business this is and this last year has been hell for so many owners. I want to say that this place has to have been using that time to level up. And I mean level up from already awesome. The staff was totally amazing, remembering personal preferences and predicting when drinks were close to empty. It's so great not to have to get someone's attention, but instead things magically just show up right on time. The food was out of this world. Every single bite was perfectly prepared including the freshest oysters we've ever had. Even the Cesar's salad was better than we've ever had there before. I just can't say enough about what a wonderful night it was for me and my girl!! Thank you to every person who made it so!!!

Everything about this restaurant gets 5 stars. As soon as you step foot inside it's impressive. Its so gorgeous inside-- the design and decor is modern yet cozy, my husband and I couldn't stop looking around at all the cool touches. The service was awesome, we sat at the bar and the bartender who helped us was super attentive and made lots of recommendations. He also made a fantastic Old Fashioned. Lastly, the food was amazing. I was worried because I really don't like raw oysters. But oh man, the dish with oysters cooked in different butters was delicious. Their scallops were so fresh too. Even the fries were special (and tasty). We will be coming back for sure!

The food was wonderful/fresh/full of flavor, and the Specialty Cocktails were delicious!!! We had dinner at this establishment on Saturday 8/1/2020 and my friend and I couldn't have been more pleased. Our server Sarah was a joy, helpful and really enhanced our dining experience. The Owner Emanuel was kind, funny and a pleasure to talk to. The Key Lime Pie their only dessert is perfect in every way. I will be back and I am sending friends to this place. Sincerely one of the most enjoyable experiences dining out in the last few years.

Walked in last minute for the New Year thought we weren't going to find a spot but this place was full of life, owner greeted us immediately. Bartenders are PHENOMENAL and that's an understatement. Brought my fiance here last night for his birthday, was very impressed with the courteous staff and the welcoming greeting! The oysters were delicious and the shrimp with chili were amazing! Enjoyed the Laganitas on tap and great cocktail choices! This is a new favorite for sure! The music was nicely paired with the vibe of the evening! Definitely add this to your list for great dining choices in Downtown Redlands.

This is far and away the absolute best cult that I have ever joined. The cocktails are amazing and so is the food. Everything is unique and fresh. So I had seen this place before and had always wanted to come back. With 2 dollar signs I knew it would be pricey but was looking forward to it. I will admit tonight was the night more because I was craving clam chowder than any other reason. On the way to ROC we looked up the reviews on the clam chowder. My first concern was it was called clam stew. Then I read Luke warm reviews of the soup and started to worry. Had I made a mistake?. Should I just go to a generic chain restaurant??? I didn't and I'm so glad for it. The reviews were way off! First, there was only standing room. We took up standing at the bar along the wall and were immediately greeted by who would later be identified as the owner. I ordered us each an oyster shooter. [Now flashback to my childhood teen years I remember how slimey the oysters were. So my dad would add lemon, Tabasco and salt and we'd shoot those suckers down. When the oysters arrived the owner informed us to take the oyster in our mouths, chew at least FIVE times and then lick the glass and shoot the drink. I laughed. I said 5 times??? Lol The owner got very serious and said 5 times to get all the flavor. Crazy! But we did it. And to our amazement I chewed much more than 5 times. They were delicious and I wanted more. I had never had oysters like that. These were from Massachusetts. So a dozen oysters later I was still craving more. But I tried the clam stew and was very impressed. It's served with toast and you can dip it and enjoy it even more. We also got fried shrimp. They were large and served on a bed of grilled onions and jalapeño. It went so well together. I only had two complaints or things of note. Though I loved the soup and will have it again I would prefer less potato. That said it was packed with clams. Second the 80s music playing was perfect for the older crowd like me. But by 9 all the young kids were starting to take over and change the vibe. Get there about 7 so you enjoy the casual vibe. Either way I highly recommend this place.

I love meeting friends here and grabbing a drink and some oysters! I have been here several times and I appreciate how each time we have had a great selection of yummy oysters. We always try to order something different each time we go since the selection always changes. The oysters are so fresh and we love to sample what is available that day. The drinks are really good too!! I love the bloody mary with oyster, it's the best around.

Made reservations for “cedar agave” next door and apparently they had set menu for Valentine’s Day and it didn’t look very appetizing so we left disappointed and happen to see this place on the way out, luckily there were 2 seats open so we decided to try and my god so happy we did. Service was great and food and drinks were exceptional! Will be back

Spouse and I first time here. Food was excellent. Spouse had the Salmon with vodka sauce linguine. I had the polenta, which had different mushrooms. Including Lions Mane, Trumpet, and some others. We also had the Anchovies avocado toast. Would definitely recommend it for a date night. Just an fyi, it can get cozy in there. Be prepared to feel like you're sharing a table with a stranger. We would absolutely return again.

We had dinner at Oystercult in Redlands and were pleasantly surprised. They don’t take reservations, but we were seated right away, even during dinner hours, without any wait. The food came out fairly quickly and was absolutely delicious — everything tasted very fresh. The check was reasonable and matched the quality. The only downside was that several wines listed on the wine menu were unavailable, which was disappointing. Still, overall, we had a great experience and would come back for the food!

Intimate and upscale. Very prompt and friendly staff. All of the food while expensive was phenomenal. Their take on a clam chowder was to die for and I highly recommend the oyster butter bomb. Cocktails were creative and delicious. Will definitely go again for a date night. No reservations but you can always call ahead for inquiry on space. 50-100 a person if you are also getting cocktails

The oysters were fresh and sweet not too big. I had a Caesar salad which was crunchy and delicious. Their fries are off the hook as are there mixed cocktails. This is my new go to place for oysters. I go early when they first open to avoid sitting up at the bar on the tall stools which for me are very uncomfortable in any situation. I heard they get pretty busy later on and since I am usually by myself, I take a book and wanna get there eat read and go.

Great drinks and food in a great location but the servers don't wear masks.

This is a beautiful little hidden space in the heart of Redlands. It feels like you're stepping into another time and another place (even though it's not themed per se). I will say there is nearly nothing that a vegetarian can eat. We had fries (good fries) and drinks. Still, I'll be back for more fries and drinks and ambience.

Not a fan of the mixed drinks but wine selection is great Food is absolutely amazing. Oysters, Cesar salad with grilled shrimp, fish tacos and the Chipotle shrimp pasta dish are absolutely what dreams are made of. Doesn't seem to have much staff so mixed drinks take awhile.

We were told they don't accept reservations, so we arrived a little after opening for dinner. We had no idea how small it is inside because the few times we'd come by before they had been closed. The place was PACKED. The maitre'd was friendly, gave us each a beaded necklace, and asked if we'd like a drink, but didn't take down our names. He said the wait would be about 30-45 mins. Worried that he'd forget us among the large number of other people also waiting to get in, we stood by that door for nearly 90 mins. Personally, I wanted to leave, but my wife was willing to wait, so I stayed for her. We actually got hungry waiting and ended up ordering fried asparagus from Copehouse across the alley (they were delicious). If it were up to me I would've just gone there for dinner. When we were finally seated and able to relax the experience improved somewhat. The bartender was friendly, and the food arrived reasonably timely. Unfortunately they did not have any non-alcoholic options on the drink menu. That seemed like a missed opportunity. Mocktails or shrubs would be a good addition for teatotalers like us. The food was all pretty decent, though pricey. They were out of the soup, so I chose the sea bass as an expensive alternative. The oyster sampler was $48 and the oysters, while of decent quality, were VERY small. Tbh I didn't think the quality justified the cost, but we enjoyed the meal enough that I didn't leave unhappy. I just don't think I'll be back anytime soon.

Nice place with great food and drinks. I go early and during the week. Friday and Saturdays tends to get filled with posers from outside (Dino) Redlands pretending to be "rich"

The place looks great from the inside and outside and I've heard good things about their oysters and food, but unfortunately never got to try anything because the music in the restaurant is just too loud. We asked the waiter if they could find a quieter table for us, but she said it was pretty much like that everywhere, so we left. Probably good for people under 30, but if you are older and want to have a conversation, the music is too much.

This has been a favorite of my husband and mine. Unfortunately all good things must come to an end! They are so overly busy that they have lost their ability to give you that personal touch that captures your business! We ordered oysters as an appetizers and two drinks and after that the service stopped,! No one asked or made eye contact with us until after 20 mins, we were so disappointed then just asked for the check! When you have to leave a restaurant hungry and thirsty that is a bad sign! Thank goodness for DEL Taco!! So sorry to have to say goodbye!

The female bartender was not that great. I walked in she gave me the menu and I asked if they have a sampler plate. She said it's a min of 3? Do I really need to explain my question? After walking in she took my order and then just stood by the kitchen door texting on her phone. The owner was there and did nothing about it. Get better help, I know it's the IE but come on, you charge Los Angeles prices but give San Bernardino service.

We were enjoying a nice evening and met the people sitting next to us. The owner (short Neapolitan boy) didn’t like us socializing with others within his restaurant. He ask me to stay in my seat. Haven’t been back and we were a regular. His loss.

Very disappointed with the gritty not fresh oysters and the $10 plate of plain bread. The drinks are tiny and overpriced. Bald bartender is rude to customers and the owner is stuck-up. Place os well decorated, but we will never be wasting our money there again.

I’ve been here twice. The gentlemen that hosts is rude, and takes forever to even acknowledge my partner and I when we walk in. We’ve given this place multiple chances. The discrimination feels a bit obvious when the host is smiling and laughing with everyone, and changes his attitude when he greets us. Every time. It definitely captures the “cult” environment. I’ve never felt more unwelcome at an establishment.

Ended up taking my girlfriend for her birthday on the 2nd of December and I was pleased by the atmosphere and service but sadly we became sick a few hours after we left and had food poisoning for a few days. We spent around 170$ to ordered a dozen oysters, a shrimp cocktail, two main courses and a few drinks. I don't mind paying for quality but don't appreciate food poisoning. 😓

My party and I had a very first disappointing experience here. I first went in to ask if they had a drink listed on their own menu, only to be told they didn’t carry it — which was already confusing. Right after, one of the staff (a bald, short man with a mean attitude) looked at my group and came all the way around the bar just to rudely tell them they couldn’t have their outside drinks, even though we were still just asking about the menu. The way he spoke was unprofessional and unnecessarily aggressive — even offering to throw away our drinks himself, which felt insulting. We politely declined and said we’d pass, since they didn’t have what we were looking for and we weren’t about to toss our own drinks. Then, the person I believe was the owner came over and questioned me about the drink in a very condescending and rude manner — like I was the one at fault for pointing out something they themselves advertised. Not a welcoming experience at all. Staff seriously needs training on how to speak to guests respectfully.
