the best chicken soup ever. never knew i needed it in my life. cute, casual, and comfy. really nice spot to come to or order
The food here is delicious. The salsa and chips is excellent. The only terrible experience was them rude funny looking Asian's out in parking lot. These aliens don't know what common courtesy actually is.
Homemade taco shells, great spicy salsa, very fresh vegetables. A++++. Honestly just fantastic. Right now doing takeout but they have tables outside as well.
I loved being walking distance to the beach, while enjoying carne asada so tender you can chew it with your gums alone. They had the warmest customer service and the guacamole comes with the quesadilla and it's not watered down.
Our waitress was welcoming and took care of all of our needs. The service was prompt and the food was delicious at a very reasonable price. The atmosphere was friendly and there was easy accessibility to parking. I'll be back.
Excellent food, including the salsa. I particularly like the chicken tamale, served sort of like a burrito, under a layer of cheese, onions and peppers and red sauce
We love El Gringo and are there pretty much every week for Taco Tuesday. The food is really good, the atmosphere is easy, and the service is great. The prices are an especially good draw on Tuesdays!
The food here is excellent! I recommend everyone to try it. Just be careful at parking area for rude Asian's. I don't know where these funny looking aliens are coming from.
We have been coming here for taco tuesday for the past two years. Food is amazing. Service is even better. We love it and our kids love it. I highly recommend.
The best carnitas taco I’ve ever had I scarfed it down or else I would put a pic WOWOOW the salsa too is amazing
The staff are very kind, and the salads actually had more than just lettuce like most places.
The food here was off the chain I ordered two asada burritos in one veggie burrito the service was five star the food is delicious 👌
Ive seen it for years but this was the first visit. Great food and goid service. Portions were large and the prices were reasonable.
Great sevice, BEST FIRST DAY EXPERIENCE. I got the Mexican pizza..mmmm good food, fast service and food was great ,love it
Everything is good except the El Diablo burrito. No tasty or special hot sauce, just a lot of crushed red pepper flakes.
This was hands down the best Mexican food we've had since we moved to the South Bay. It's in a very unassuming spot...so don't let that stop you from sampling this great little jewel!
Great little spot for Mexican food in the south Bay. The burritos are big and food is tasty
The food was made super fast and was really good. Currently, they package all food for pick-up, but you can sit and eat your food too.

The place is peaceful chill atmosphere food is delicious and the service is excellent. Jenny is the nicest most helpfull waitress the kitchen staff is always cheerful and happy. Great place
Outdoor seating, and virus friendly, this place has great staff. The food is excellent. My specialty wet burrito was ginormous and delicious. They're salsa is thick enough to stay on the chip with excellent flavor. The red sauce was flavorful without being overly spicy. Highly recommended.
Food was really good & fresh. The Chicken Tacos were filling, The quesadillas were filled with chicken, the guacamole was good and the Flautas were delicious!! The Mexican pizza was also good. My Family enjoyed it. The best part was the lady who answered the phone, and was at the counter she was so kind and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal. I couldn't wait to give a review because she was so welcoming! Will be back
Love their chicken soup! It tastes homemade and is great for colds. The service is always friendly and attentive. This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the South Bay for sure. Oh! And their salsa is delicious, too!

Wierd on how it works now. Walk up to order. You sit. Food is served in to go pans. You sit and eat. No service. Soooo... do you tip???? Once your done, you throw your empty container away, walk out. No bussers, no dish washers, no waiters, no service. Hummmmfood was good.
Great Mexican food with excellent service! Kid friendly as well.
They have great salads. You can't go wrong. Try the margaritas, they are made with wine. Don't knock it till you try it. Try the mahi . Enough said.
Service is good and timely. Server very friendly. I ordered the flautas and they were a little on the dry side.
Really enjoyed our meals. We always stop by El Gringo for some authentic Mexican food. It is quick, reasonable and delicious. My husband enjoyed the menudo this visit which is a huge complement. Keep up the good work!
Had the street tacos. They were good and full of meat. It was an appetizer but worked to fill me up. The service was great and it was a nice casual atmosphere. Will definitely be back.
House burrito with the el diablo asada. Portion was solid and overall pretty tasty. They provided chips and salsa while we waited. The place is not designed with dine-in as a priority. More like a fast food place. Priced like a dine-in place. Enjoyable, I’ll be back, but not a must-visit.

The food is great. You order at the counter and can sit inside or outside. Good prices. Not fancy but great food.
I stopped by for lunch here while traveling. It's a fairly small shop with dining on the patio. Many good food choices and good portions. The food I ordered wasn't overly spicy. It was just the right amount for me. Very good flavor.
The waitress or clerk told that they don't have enough staff so everything is served in to go containers. She said it has been this way since the pandemic. I had the mahi ,delicious, flaky and moist. Black beans dry and tasteless. Grilled veggies delicious.
The guacamole and salsas were delicious!! My husband said it was the best, juiciest chicken he's ever had. The pastor had a great flavor that I haven't had in a while. Fish tacos were also some of the best I've tried. Will definitely come back here.

What happened El Gringo? Dirty tables and floors, empty inside, undercooked beans and $15 for a bean & cheese burrito. It has seriously gone down hill in the past few years.
We rarely have eaten in the restaurant, but when we have the experience was good. Friendly. We usually just pick up. Not sure what happened, this past sunday my son and I got a real bad case gas. It has been a while since we eaten there, since it is not my favorite place to pick up Mexican food, I have always thought the carne asada is too seasoned , over cooked, cut way too small, always a bit too dry. I am sure others prefer their meat that way. Not sure if it the excessive seasoning or just us. Either way it has taken two full days to recover from it, I won't be ordering carne asada from here. Maybe, I'll try the chicken once my stomach fully recovers.
Menudo was good but broth needed bit more flavor/spices. But if you're in the mood for chill environment and decent mexican food, this is the place.
The food was good. If was also a lot of food. I just have one question, though. Why did I get probably 1.5 pounds of asada but only 3 small tortillas? The chips and salsa were unsatisfactory.

Wow...where do i start...1. Black beans were hard..not completely cooked..2. My asada dinner plate was not a slab of meat which i was expecting...instead i got chopped up cubes of meat..the real issue was that they were over cooked...dry..beef. Jerkyish n salty..3. $15 for that...seriously over price for that quality...if it was great i wouldn't have cared...4. Not 100%sure but i think the guacamole was.from a powder mix..but if it wasn't that was some sub par guac...I'd nvr go back to this place..rather go to taco bell...lol..but seriously it was BAD!!! Except forthe RICE..IT was good....
The chips and salsa and rice are good. The Mexican pizza is good, but soggy. I don't recommend the ground beef tacos because they undercooked the meat this last time. The lettuce and tomatoes have been really watered down each time I've ordered. It defeats the purpose of having a hard taco. Maybe another location is better or you just shouldn't do carry-out here.
Really disappointing. I dined in and they served my fajitas in takeout containers with plastic forks. Even if the food had tasted great, which it certainly didnt, I might have overlooked.
Did the hours change for closing? Came before 9, id say early 8:15 and the place is already closed. Please update the times if possible
The food here is decent but way overpriced. There are numerous Mexican restaurants in the area where you can get better food for less money. $20 for a burrito is outrageous. $20 for a salad is a joke. Not to mention the fact that the place pretty has the worst ambiance of any restaurant I’ve been to. There are tables and chairs, they have an entire dinning room that has sat empty ever since the pandemic, which was years ago. We used to really move coming here back in the day but can’t ever justify coming back given what I’ve written above.
Food was OK but, not to compare to king chang.
The indoor dining is closed which I found disappointing considering most restaurants offer it. The food seemed overpriced, but I decided to give it a try. I ordered the taco combo with 2 tacos, beans, and rice...no drink. Total before tip...$18. My taco selections were asada and shredded chicken. The tacos were large, but the flavors were quite bland. I did not finish the asada taco because I simply lost interest. The rice was typical and the beans could have used a little salt. The chips and salsa were good, and this was much appreciated. I'm glad to have finally tried it, but I can get better Mexican food at most diners around the South Bay.

While picking up my order, I saw one of the cooks barehandedly scoop the salsa out of its container and proceeded to the refrigerator and grab more stuff out of it without washing its hands. Yikes! The blonde lady that works there can't work under pressure and starts forgetting stuff.
We were traveling and looking for a mexican food place to eat. We came across this and saw it was voted best Mexican restaurant and best servers in Redondo beach as stated on their window. Sounded promising. The food here is mediocre at best. First we had to wait 10 minutes outside to get a table. No problem, it happens, it was a small place anyway. Then once seated we waited 30 minutes inside for our food. Borderline unacceptable considering our two orders. Most of the tables inside either had their food or where getting ready to leave. The only way a 30 minute wait at a mexican food restaurant is if the food is going to be good. We ordered a carne asada burrito and chicken flautas. The burrito was overpowered by the excessive use of the seasoning coriander. It was a burrito flavored coriander roll in my eyes. The menu should have put it as a coriander burrito, not an asada burrito. Am I being clear on how much coriander was used in the making of this burrito? The flautas were terrible. Dry, tasteless, bland chicken. I make better stuff in my crock pot at home. All of this for the low low price of $25. Bad food, poor service, expensive (for mexican food), never coming back.
$8 dollars a taco is a joke. I ordered 5 tacos at this place, and I got charged $40. Even my 10 year old son was surprised when the cashier told me how much it was for common tacos that had nothing but the usual...
$14 for 1 bean and cheese burrito
One of the tacos was a mess, it was falling apart and the meat somehow was in between the two tortillas. Orange juice did not taste fresh. And the green salsa was hot for some reason (like temperature wise).. Never seen anything like it. Bad experience.
Strip mall mexican place. Used to be good, now seems to be circling the drain. On my last visit the vegetables they served us were wilted and probably spoiled. I will not return.
