Opinions de Yum Thai Bistro Redondo Beach
I moved in the area just few months ago, in the middle of the pandemic. One night my husband and I were craving Thai food; being new to the area we just relied on proximity and other people's reviews and we decide to give Yum Thai a shot. We were not disappointed. One of the best Thai food I have ever tried. Since then, we ordered several more times, trying different things all the time, and the quality and the taste has been always very high. One of my favorite restaurant for sure.
Yum Thai is amazing! This is our first time here (at the recommendation of a friend who apparently comes every week), and let me just say: AMAZING. Not only was the food fresh and well seasoned and spiced, they also were able to make almost the entire menu soy-free for me (as I am allergic). I haven't been able to go to a Thai restaurant and order anything I liked from the menu in sooo long! Thank you Yum Thai, we are customers for life.
This is a hidden gem. The food was xlnt. We shared shrimp won ton soup - the shrimp were large - gyoza, green beans with chicken and fried rice. Everything tasted fresh and the portions were good. The staff is friendly and the place is very clean. We will definitely be back.
One of my favorite pad Thai dishes in the area. Very friendly staff and a nice piece to eat.
Always searching for better Thai food all over the state and this place is where it's at.! They make their Curry's the way it's supposed to be made, pineapple fried rice is always delicious, Pad Thai, any seafood. It's ridiculously good. I've become friends with most of the crew, awesome environment all around! Come and enjoy (:
This has to be my favorite Thai restaurant in southern California. Dishes are generous, flavorful, and well prepared. Our go-to's are yellow curry, chicken satay, firecracker shrimp, and Thai coffee. The curry is nice and thick - I recommend picking up a side of rice to enjoy every last drop of curry. Wait times for pickup or delivery can be long (mainly due to the restaurant's popularity), but if you can be patient, the wait is totally worth it.
I have never had a bad dish here. It's fresh & delicious and the staff is super friendly. Favorite dishes are Pad Thai and Pineapple Shrimp Curry with Jasmine Rice. Also serves on of the best Thai Iced Teas I've ever had.
Wow! Everyone in my party really enjoyed their dish. We chose the Pad Thai, Chow Mein, Garlic Pepper chicken and Green Beans. The veggies we're fresh and crisp. The staff were very helpful. The restaurant is fresh will nice decor. Parking was easy too. Winner winner chicken Thai dinner
Stayed at the Best Western close by. Turned up without a reservation and the restaurant was very busy with people waiting for both tables and takeaways. Sat at the bar and had a drink until a table was free. Actually shared a table with a local couple in the end. Food was excellent. Hot and tasty. Portions were just right and was reasonable priced. Would be happy to recommend this restaurant.
We tried this place based on the reviews and we're not disappointed. Delicious food that was clearly made fresh. I rarely give five stars. They earned it. Decent prices too!
This was probably the best meal we've experienced in past 3 months, having travelled around the entire USA. Exceptional quality authentic Thai fare, at quite reasonable prices, with great attentive service, and nice atmosphere - many other restuarants we've visited in this country could take a leaf out of these guys book.
Soooo delicious! So clean. So yum. My husbands favorite Thai restaurant as well.
Even though its not my favorite cuisine, it was good, but the customer service was great! They were very sweet and tentative. Very sweet staff made me feel very comfortable !
Great lunch specials! Popped in during a quick break in the day and was able to have a fill lunch for under $10. The food quality is awesome and the servers are kind and attentive.
I had shrimp and chicken fried rice, huge portion & absolutely delicious!! My gf had the pad thai, she absolutely loved it as well & said alot of everything, veggies, shrimp, tofu were a plenty
Good food, great simple service. Had a good time... nothing super fancy Michelin star types but a good choice for simple Thai food. We are vegetarian so we can't eat at most Thai places. These guys make the vegetarian meals without fish/oyster sauce.
the interior is extremely clean & wonderful. the owner is so heartwarming, making a fun and heartfelt conversation with us. we got the lunch special, thai iced tea here can be substituted for almond milk! the food, last but not least, was unreal!! the flavors here in their food is just so fresh & bombing with flavors with every bite. i recommend this place any day!!!! 💕
Delicious, you NEED to come here! The owner was so nice, she made us feel very welcome! The food was so good, you can replace tofu instead of meat/seafood, and the food is delicious! I had the lunch special, and I loved it. The Thai iced tea was the BEST! There was almond milk sub for the milk in the Thai Tea, and it was one of the best iced teas I’ve had! I’ll definitely come back just for the tea. It was very clean, and well taken care of.
We love to come to Yum Thai. Everything we we order is always delicious. We have some vegans in the mix, and they will make the dish vegan if you request it. Their vegetables are fresh and delicious. Parking is free and easy. And always a pretty rose at your table. Their lunch special is a great value with salad, spring roll, rice and entree. Their rice is DELICIOUS !
Delicious food, fresh ingredients. Prompt and friendly service. Spacious, clean interior with inviting, serene ambience. They have real flowers as part of the table setting and interior decorations as well as having nice music playing. Little details like that are really sweet and set the right atmosphere for diners.
First time here and we were very impressed! Nice clean place, service was great, presentation of food was great, and most of all it was delicious! Really satisfying 😋

Pineapple curry so gas 🔥 the fresh coconut is also so refreshing and so good. Quick time no waiting and great customer service.
This was another place to get dinner close to the hotel after a busy day. Glass noodle salad had a lot of flavor to it and made for a great dinner. They were pretty quick with getting things to the table too.

I've tried every Thai place there is in a 5 mile radius, this place gets my business every time despite the mediocre service. The food is good. The tofu is good. Not the best Thai ever in life, but the best in the area to my taste. Fancy place on PCH that seems to be a secret is runner up, but I'm not a fan of the white Pad Thai they make.
The food has been good and consistent , but then two times in a row the duck curry tasted stale or freezer burned. I’ll still be eating here because it’s been soo good to us, but Ill wait a few seasons for them to renew their stock before getting the roasted duck curry again.
The food is really good here- we got the pad thai and pumpkin curry. The curry is definitely is on point! But the night we went the service was painfully slow. It was around new years and so they were significantly short staffed, so hoping that was a rare event.
Food and service was good. The price is pretty high for the portion you receive. The flavors of Thai noodles and orange chicken and rice was fairly good.
Great flavored food from the chicken fried rice to pad see ew and the tom yum soup, but the dishes lacked a spicy flavor. The atmosphere was family friendly with fast service.
Yum Thai was good. The waitress was exceptional! The food was pretty good, although we prefer our local Thai eatery. The location is okay, it's in a busy little shopping center. Would definitely stop in again if I was in the area and hungry.
Authentic Thai food. Often busy, recommend reservations even on a week night. Seating near the kitchen can be quite noisy due to clanging pots and pans.

Underwhelming flavors, they add no spice 🌶️ to the dishes. Larb salad was limited to ground chicken. Sure charge almost $20 for a small portion with beautiful garnishes because business is near the Pacific Coast.
An average Thai bistro. I had Chicken Satay which was good but my Pork Drunken Noodles very far from the best I've had from extensive Thai dining experiences. I also hate it when they bring your starter and entree out together!

Mediocre. I ordered curry ($16) Potatoes were hard and it lacked the spiciness I usually enjoy. The rice was an $4. Their spring rolls were A+ though. It's a clean restaurant. Friendly service. It's my 3rd time trying it. There's better options out there. This one is just convenient.

Wasn't good everything tasted frozen fresh or really salty ordered duck salad then the chicken teriyaki meatballs and the spicy fried rice was all not that great but at least no hair in the plates
Not authentic thai food. The ingredients in the tom cow gai were few and far between and the serving warming bowl was the smallest I've seen in the past. Not much lemon grass, galangal and the use of crimini mushrooms instead of shitake was a disappointment. No one has straw mushrooms here but the use of button mushrooms isnt the best IMO.
Unfortunately this is not good Thai food I have to say not what I expected. My aunt owned a Thai restaurant and believe me this is no where close to it. No taste and just a bunch of vegetables with no flavor and the noodles looked like you get from an instant ramen cup you get at the grocery store. Sorry to hurt anyone feelings that have been going there. Unfortunately I won’t be going back.

PARENTS BEWARE! If you have young children in this area do not go to this establishment for help with an emergency potty. That is against their policy and in a bizarre twist their staff has either no brain, heart or latitude to allow a 3 year old to use their bathroom. For those with young children you have likely been blown away by other establishments being flexible and helpful with you children. Not this place. Didn't try their food and don't plan to.
What happened? I’ve been going since they opened. Lately it’s been different. Yesterday my favorite staple dish was completely watery EW. If it’s new owners please go back to the old recipes. Yum Thai has so many usual original customers.
Quality of the food was horible. The chicken and shrimp dumplings had a funny, stale taste. Never had such a bad tasting thai soup-I will NEVER order again from this place. Good luck to the other customers.
Be careful if you have allergies! What you see on the menue is not what you get! We went to that place and I carefully ordered - according to the menue - a dish without beans, peas and lentils since I am allergic to that. Unfortunately the first version of the dish came with beans. I mentioned my allergies and the next version came with peas... Also, they added the tip to the menue by themselves... Sorry, a little more responsibility is required when you are dealing with food and people with allergies.
Yum Thai Bistro in Redondo Beach was a huge disappointment. The food was bland and lacked any authentic Thai flavors. The service was slow and inattentive, and the portions were ridiculously small for the high prices. Additionally, the restaurant was unclean, and it made the dining experience very uncomfortable. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking for good Thai cuisine.
Food here is okay and hence the one star for that. The pricing is way off. We were charged extra from what was mentioned in the menu. $13.69+$2 for vegetables and tofu. The staff didn't tell us about it while we were ordering and the portion is very very less for the pricing. I ordered drunken noodles and the plate had one spoon noodles with rest few vegetables and tofu. Im attaching the picture for reference. There are better thai restaurants around. I would never go to this place.
$13.69 pad see ew. The portion is way too small for the price! I would not recommend coming here if Thai is something you share. The flavor was good, but it wasn’t satisfying if you’re left still kind of hungry. The day before we ordered a pumpkin curry with a side of rice. It was over $16. Also, portion was small. I thought the small portions was just the curries but I realize after getting the pad see ew that this was not the case. I wouldn’t come back again, and I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant. Flavors were good, but please don’t be so stingy with your food. Rice and noodles don’t cost this much.

We ordered Pampano, which came out lukewarm and with the texture of fish jerky. Clearly not cooked fresh. The worst was fish soup that also came out lukewarm warm with raw veggies and fish. I assumed there was fire under the dish that would cook the soup. After waiting a few minutes we figured out there was no fire. We called the waitress over who insisted that the soup was cooked. After I showed her raw veggies and fish, she took it back and it came back cooked. However, the broth was so salty that it was inedible and the fish had turned to rubber. We called the waitress over who called I guess the manager over. She proceeded to yell at me that I ordered an expensive dish and that there was no changing it. She asked if I’ve had Thai soup before (of course) and whether I had eaten at the restaurant (yes). She said I can order something else but that I’d have to pay for everything. It was 8:30 by then and I just wanted some food and go to bed. I ordered dumpling soup that came cooked but with clearly frozen Chinese dumplings (not Thai dumplings). I ate some of that soup so we ended up paying almost $80 for the horrible experience and inedible food. Never again.
I have been coming here off and on for years. I ordered the Massam curry the potatoes were hard the chicken tough. We also ordered the drunken noodles with shrimp all 4 of them the shrimp I mean. Not spicy in the least . It was terrible not worth the money. Very disappointing. Won't be back.
Worst pad Thai I’ve ever had. I’ve tried it twice just to make sure I wasn’t wrong. I got it with tofu, and I felt like I was chewing on rubber
I asked to use the restroom. They wouldn't let me out the door to get my purse i left in the car to consume something. So I didnt consume anything because she started pushing me when i was walking to the door.
Never got a chance to get to the food because of the racist server. It was clear from the moment two black women walked into this establishment, the woman working there had a problem with our presence. My mom and I were the only people in the entire restaurant on October 27, 2025 around 3pm. She took her time coming to us to take our order. I tried to ask her a question about the lunch special after she walked away; she didn't want to approach me so I had to get out of my seat and walk up to her. As I'm asking the question, she walks away from me to say up tables, but again, my mom and I were the only customers at the time. We ended up leaving and going to corner bakery where they had a very nice server. It comes off that black people are not welcomed at YUM THAI BISTRO and I would never recommend going. ZERO stars if it were an option
