Updating my review to say that they are now offering Sunday Brunch! We had fluffy pancakes, carnitas bowl, breakfast burrito, and eggs Benito. And mimosas! Everything was delicious, and very generous portions. Delicious, huge, homemade-style tacos and incredibly nice people. The queso fresco taco is da bomb! We will definitely be back.
Great vibes and meals. It's a great place to meet with friends and family. Try their Sunday brunch, it's a must have.
It’s been a blessing coming here. Not only is the food ( I always get the tacos) great, the owners and staff are amazing. Also, 5 minute walk to the beach with tacos and a drink. If I could give 10 stars I would !!! Amazing space !!!
We came from MA and heard amazing things about this place from our sister and brother-in-law. They did not disappoint! Friendly staff, delicious food, and right near the water for a post lunch walk. We got the street corn, Baja fish tacos, chicken rice bowl, California burrito, and soy chorizo tacos. The food was hot and flavorful. We also liked trying all the different salsas at the salsa bar. We will be back for sure!
Super great service, everyone was really nice and they had amazing food.
The Food was SO GOOD and was full! They not only have generous portions but generous service! Would highly recommend as a stop for either a quick bite or a meal!
Great food, great service, definitely a go to Mexican restaurant in south Redondo :)
Fantastic neighborhood restaurant with Mexican classics prepared with love and perfection. The owners have a lot of passion for their restaurant and that shows in the flavor of their dishes. Nice spot to enjoy time in the Riviera Village near the beach in Redondo Beach.
At first I was skeptical seeing them advertise authentic Mexican in Redondo beach but I tried it anyways and they completely blew me away! The gentleman running the register was awesome, I had the nachos and oh man! Best plate of nachos I’ve had in a while. Fresh ingredients and great portions and they have a salsa bar! You have to try their Mango habanero salsa, love the food and the experience. I’m definitely a fan now and will be coming back soon.
I discovered this place because it was the only restaurant on the block that was busy, and I had to find out why. Outstanding tacos and plates. Really friendly staff. Everything I've had here has been delicious. They have a small dining area, or you can do take-out.
The carnitas breakfast bowl might just be the best thing I’ve ever eaten
We love this place & the salsa keeps us coming back!
Casa is a regular spot for me! I the food and the staff — they’re always so friendly. They are also very accommodating to Celiac and gluten allergies which is fantastic. Can always count on CP for a good meal and an even better time.
I recently tried the breakfast burritos at this restaurant and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed. Finding a spot that consistently delivers high-quality breakfast burritos in the South Bay can be quite the challenge, but this place exceeded my expectations. As a self-proclaimed hot sauce aficionado, I highly recommend trying their "hottest" hot sauce if you're like me and enjoy a fiery kick. For those who prefer a milder spice with a touch of sweetness, the "volcano" sauce is a must-try. With a variety of flavor options available, there's something for everyone's taste buds. I can't wait to come back and sample more of their menu!
craving actual authentic Mexican food after visiting the beach all day? Casa playa is the perfect place to satisfy all of your desires with its unique taste and nice selection of beers. I love dining in with my best friend as we experience wonderful and loving costumer service. I really recommend the enchiladas, easily 5/5
Been a few times. Got the breakfast burrito with chorizo. Taco with plant chorizo. Burrito bowl. Drinks. Owner has been friendly. The other cashier employee has been direct and efficient. I like it. Order at the counter they bring it out. Some different fountain drink flavors as well. My girlfriend remembered it from our last visit some years ago and wanted to return. I like the volcano and Salma Hayek salsa.
Everytime I get my hair cut, I go next door for my favorite food! I am on a special diet, but I will NOT cut out having the treat of eating here. I probably have eaten each item on the menu more than twice, and am never disappointed.
Love this awesome, cozy Mexican restaurant in the beautiful Riviera Village. It has a casual vibe and the food is fresh and delicious. There are daily specials which are very reasonably priced. The owners are an incredible couple who end up knowing most of their frequent customers and their favorite orders. I couldn’t recommend this place more enthusiastically!
This Mexican spot is located on the west side of Catalina at the corner of S Elena in Riviera Village. The decor is very authentic for a taco shop you might find in Mexico and it feels inviting and relaxed. We had grilled and crispy fish tacos which were both delicious. The loaded Carnitas burrito was just the right size, filling but not overwhelming. Nothing tasted greasy or fatty and everything was very fresh and flavorful. They have a nice salsa bar with half a dozen levels of heat to keep everyone happy. The food here is just good, and they use quality ingredients that you can taste the difference. Service was friendly and efficient so it is easy to get in and out if you need to do a quick lunch. The summary is fresh, tasty, food at a reasonable price with great service. Must try if you are a fan of Mexican food.
Casa Playa is my favorite local spot for Mexican food! I live in town and I come here all the time for their chilaquiles breakfast plate. The green and red sauce are both so good, I can never choose. Food is fresh and flavorful. Service is top notch. Bonus points for a generous self-serve salsa bar with nearly 10 flavors/types of salsa that you can't find anywhere else. Don't sleep on Casa Playa if you're in Redondo Beach.
I ordered a chicken tostada and it was delicious. My Husband ordered 2 beef tacos with rice and beans and he was given a good portion. He said it was good. They have a covered salsa bar which makes it hygienic instead of the open ones. The staff is so nice & friendly. They also have a restroom if you need one. The restaurant is quaint. Btw, they also gives you a complimentary chips & salsa. You get a 4% discount if you pay cash. We'll definitely come back next time we're in the area.
They really upped their game since new owner came in. Much better food and ambiance. Super clean. The owner is very sweet and clearly cares about guest experience.. 10/10 reccomend keep it up
Great little Mexican joint. Authentic food with amazing salsas. I recommend the Salma Hayak
We had thought of going here and after looking at other places along the street this one still looked very appealing. I got a California burrito, chimichanga style with carne asada, and my wife got a 2-taco lunch plate (one carne asada, one chicken) with rice and refried beans. Food was very good and satisfying, especially the chimichanga. The meats, both carne asada and chicken were good and the texture was more finely cut than chunks, as we usually see for Mexican dishes. Staffer was nice and atmosphere was fun, including cute names for different salsas at the little salsa bar.
Friendly staff. Awesomely obscure drink collection. Had a California burrito with asada. Probably the cheesiest cali I’ve ever had which was terrific. Asada was fine so I’ll try a different protein next time. It isn’t “must have” but as a local, I’ll be back.
Mexican food in LA is always amazing, and this place was no exception. We ordered our food to go and they had it ready to go quickly. For our appetizer, we got the carne asada fries which were delectable, but came in a huge portion so we had to save it for another day. Our entrees were the steak plate and the california burrito, and we got a side of the 32oz (2 lbs) refried beans. The portions for the entrees were also big, but the food was delicious! We were very happy with both of our meals. The refried beans were divine. However I do have to tell you about a story of what happened with the beans. There I was, eating a full pound of beans in a single sitting, enjoying my life, when disaster struck. After finishing my serving of beans, we were driving in thick LA traffic up north, and I got hit by what I can only describe as a small little man with a sharp knife attempting to kill me from the inside. I could hardly breathe, had to loosen my seat belt, and was just hanging on for dear life. If it weren’t for that 76 gas station along the way, I would’ve just passed away in our rental car. You should definitely try the beans though. Just don’t inhale them too fast like I did.
Delicious Mexican restaurant in Redondo. I’ve been coming here since high school and it rarely disappoints. The menu has expanded since then and there are lots of vegetarian options. I love the veggie burrito with refried beans added (it comes with black) it’s so good. Really good salsas and chips come with your order. Clean restaurant with friendly staff, definitely worth trying.

My family comes to this place at least twice a week. They have great lunch specials until 3pm and their Sunday brunch is amazing! Try the champagne!
I love Casa Playa, the food is made fresh and tastes yummy, I love the vegetarian options, potatoe enchiladas are my favorite, variety and pricing is great, cash pay and you get a discount! Salsa bar and fresh chips, always a hit. Super friendly staff, and now they have beers and a few drink options, can’t beat that! Lunch specials are enough food for 2 meals for me anyways Support your local business, they deserve a killer review!!
We live within walking distance of this place and we will be back. We paid $15/burrito but mine was huge and lasted me two meals. Very generous portions. They also have a salsa bar. We loved sampling all the different flavors. Food was great!
Casa Playa was already one of our favorite places when we decided to use them to cater our daughter’s third birthday party. The food was delicious and the service was superb. Among many things, we got a tray of the crunchy chicken tacos based on the restaurant’s recommendation, and they were the hit of the party. I would not hesitate to use their catering service again. The value was incredible.
Best Mexican food in South Bay Super friendly environment. The owners, Alethea and Shawn are the nicest people you can ever meet. You will leave with a full belly and a smile on your face. We loooooved it and so will you.
Truly great people working here! Everything is delish but they have a veggie burrito that is maybe the best item in the menu and as a meat eater I’m impressed at how filling it is, also makes for a great hangover cure!
Welcoming staff, great food and excellent salsa bar. We got some street tacos, a burrito and a carnitas plate. The carnitas and pastor were fresh and flavorful. Good chips and a variety of salsas from the self serve salsa bar, yum. 10/10
This place has a beachy casual vibe. I always seem to find parking in the metered spaces. their servings are generous with good selection of salsa, and I love their tostadas to use as chips. Friendly and fast but it can get busier during peak meal times. It is one of my favorites for fat burritos. Recommendation for a stop after or in the middle of a beach walk.

Locals get served outsiders are just bags of money 🏧 Food is ok 🌮🌯 Prices are good for the area . 💲💲The other Mexican Riviera joint is 5 time the price. Staff is super cool with all of the in town local and knows everyone who they went to high school with. 👨🎓👨🏽🍳 Bathroom was broken when I was there. 🚽 Place is tiny but good for a quick stop. ⛺ Has a sala bar and a good selection of standard issue Mexican American menu items🇺🇸 Street parking only and you have to pay for the parking 🚗🚏💲
Great food, excellent service, generous portions. I enjoyed the tortilla soup, delicious!
Local taqueria under new management since my last visit, well worth the revisit and now with alcoholic beverages! I ordered the daily special meat; two pulled pork tacos, plus one shrimp taco and a cheese quesadilla with a side of beans and rice for the kids. Nice salsa bar selection, the spicy stuff is really spicy so taste a little before filling your salsa cups. The food was very flavourful and the pulled meat chunky, the tacos are meal in itself! The outside seating area is complemented by big sun umbrellas making the outdoor tables a highly sought place to eat, hang out, see and be seen.

The coffee is amazing, their service can be a little bit slow. And if you’re ordering online, just remember that they won’t even get started on your order until you show up. Even though the app says they’ll send you an update, they don’t. I waited 20 minutes until I finally went inside and the really nice guy at the cash register said “oh we don’t get started on your order until you arrive.”
Burritos were awesome! Tacos were yummy! They changed the quality of cheese in their nachos…they kinda suck now.
Mediocre at best. Staff with no personality. The food is nothing like it used to be. My taco was drowning in lettuce, hard to find. Gave it another shot but will never be what it was. They also changed the signature salsa.

Entire family got stomach poisoning (bad diarrhea) from eating food from here this Memorial Day. This was the only food we all shared so it was definitely from this place. Used to go eat all the time after volleyball, never again.
Ordered food for a birthday lunch. Burgers were over cooked and fries were cold and hard. Called to speak with owner and customer service was horrible. Albondigas soup was greasy with no flavor. Won’t be ordering from here again.
