Solid spot serving Baja-style Mexican food in Redondo Beach. We tried the Pozole Verde de Pollo, Baja Shrimp Cocktail, Crab Enchiladas, Birria Quesadilla, Grilled Mahi Mahi Fish Tacos, and Baja Fish Tacos — the crab enchiladas, Grilled Mahi Mahi Fish Tacos, and Baja shrimp cocktail were the highlights for me. The strawberry and mango margaritas we really enjoyed too. The space is bright and comfortable, and service is friendly. Overall, it hits the mark for flavorful food and a chill spot to grab a meal, especially if you’re in the area.

Came to Palos Verdes for a conference and on my way there stopped at Riviera’s Mexican Grill. Wow! Advised to try out the Chicken Spinach Enchiladas with the Ranchero sauce and it didn’t not disappoint. Incredible dish and nothing like that “crap” TexMex you get in Texas. Made my last stop here for a second round and was totally worth it. Don’t know what they add to the sauce but it’s amazing. Highly recommend this place if you’re in the Redondo Beach/Palos Verdes area

Such a great go-to Mexican restaurant in the area! Grew up going here and our staples haven’t changed! We LOVE the red snapper wrap with curly fries, beef fajitas and lobster quesadilla! The chips and salsa are hands down the best!

My stepdad has loved this restaurant for decades and for good reason. The staff is outstanding and very fast moving. They give you a surplus of chips and salsa which are so good. The birria tacos were to die for and every time I’ve gone the fajitas are A++ as well. The drinks are strong and everything is reasonably priced. I can’t wait to come back. Lots of relics and local memorablia strewn about. Thanks guys!

Best place everrrrrr!. Had a veggie burrito that was so huge and delicious, couldn't eat all of it at once. The waitress was attentive and pleasant. Took my son for his birthday and they gave him a big hat and sang to him. I most say it looks like a small spot but they got big tasty food! ...I came all the way from Los Angeles to try this place and it was worth every dollar and some!!!...they were crowded, so we ate outside.

6/18/2024 Another amazing lunch at Riviera Mexican Grill in Redondo Beach. Saul started us off with chips and two of their delicious salsas. Tori was our server and bartender and was nothing short of fantastic. Tori is professional, knowledgeable, and most of all kind and a joy to talk with. We started with Don Julio Blanco with club soda and three limes muddled with mint, and they were so good. We also had the chicken taquitos for an appetizer. For our entrees, my wife had the chicken enchilada plate, and I had the chile relleno and chicken enchilada. Both dishes were hot and tasty. The ambiance is cool and comfy. This place is definitely a local favorite. Highly recommended for great food, great people, and great service! Previous visit What a great find. This place is awesome, and the local clientele are very cool. Martin, Saul, and PM B. were all amazing. We started with chips and salsa, and their salsa is homemade and awesome. We had several Don Julio Blanco cocktails, and wow, fantastic. We had the chicken taquitos for the appetizer, and they were oh so good. Martin was great with fantastic conversation and efficient service. I had the Carne asada plate with a chicken enchilada, and my wife had two chicken enchadas. The place was awesome, and the decor was perfect. Jose, one of the other patrons, bought me a shot of Herradura Ultra extra anejo, and wow, what a great taste. I returned the awesome blessing with another round. The food, atmosphere, ambiance, and people were stellar. I will definitely be back. It's like Familia. Top shelf service, amazing food, and fantastic people with a stellar ambiance. Highly recommended

I came here after a day at the beach and ordered a drink they brought out chips and salsa which were incredible. And it took a bit to pick something off the menu as they had many great options I wound up getting the baja tacos with rice and slaw. And I was satisfied with my choice the tacos were amazing and just like the rice it was cooked to perfection. It was honestly like a home cooked meal. The patio has an amazing atmosphere and the staff are so friendly. I'm glad I wound up in Redondo Beach during my travels or I'd never found this place. I recommend anyone who passes by to stop in and try it out. Thank you for the amazing experience.

Was supposed to be about a 25 minute late, but was only about 10-15 min. Was able to sit and have drinks for a few minutes before getting to our table. Kalaveras in Redondo Beach is a fun, lively spot perfectly located just a short walk from the beach. The atmosphere is upbeat with loud music, colorful decor, and an energetic crowd — definitely a place to come if you're in the mood for a good time. We were glad we made reservations, as it does get busy (understandably so). As soon as we sat down, we were greeted with complimentary chips and salsa — a nice touch to kick things off. The food did not disappoint! The tacos and fajitas were tasty, but the molcajete stole the show — packed with flavor and super satisfying. We were too full to try any desserts, but that just gives us a reason to come back. If you're looking for great Mexican food with a party vibe near the beach, Kalaveras is a solid pick.

My husband and I came to happy hour prices were surprisingly reasonable....food and drinks were great! We sat at the bar after we were done and ordered another drink.... Bartender was a pleasant young man talking about all the different alcohols with my husband. I feel bad that I don't recall his name I want to say Jonathan perhaps but I could be wrong.

Stopped in here for drinks on a Sunday afternoon since we were closeby the Redondo beach area. Was seated right away, looked like they just finished the brunch buffet so crowds were thinning out. First waiter was friendly and good, drinks brought out fast but later on during the shift change and cashing him out it was hard to flag down a new server. However, it was a good place to chill and have some drinks and appetizers. Guacamole dip was awesome🤙 Atmosphere was a bit on the noisier side but was expected. The quirky floral and colorful motif added to the character of this place. If it wasnt for the spotty service, it rate this place higher🤙Would visit this place again👍

I went there for dinner for my friend’s birthday. I liked the decor and the atmosphere. The food was good, and the staff were nice too. But the music was very loud, so we couldn’t hear each other. I want to try their brunch next time.

A nice Mexican restaurant in Redondo Beach. Had dinner here and I liked the chilled fun 'surfer' decor and relaxed vibe. Food was very good, I had the Chicken Fajitas which was a big portion. It comes with 3 tortillas and I had to order 3 more ($1.75) in order to finish the dish of chicken and peppers. Very yummy meal. Service from Ambar was excellent, and prices reasonable. Total with a diet coke and tax was $29 Worth a visit.

I had a great experience dining at Riviera Mexican Grill in Redondo! The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, the service was attentive, and the food was fresh and flavorful. Everything we ordered was spot on—from the chips and salsa to the entrees, it all hit the mark. I'm definitely looking forward to coming back. The only thing missing was a mojito on the drink menu—hopefully they'll consider adding it in the future. That would make the experience even better!

After a fun night of trick-or-treating in the Riviera Village, we stumbled upon Riviera Mexican Grill, and it was a fantastic find! The place was packed with people in costume, creating a festive, lively atmosphere. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and despite the crowd, our food came out quickly. We tried the fajitas, which were flavorful and perfectly cooked—a definite highlight. The chips and salsa were also great, with the chips served warm and crisp. The only slight miss was the guacamole; it could use a bit more lime juice, salt, and maybe some cilantro to make the flavors pop. The vibe, with upbeat music and the Halloween crowd, really made the experience memorable. We’d definitely come back next time we’re in the area—Riviera Mexican Grill is a fun spot with tasty food and great energy!

The food here is amazing, and the staff are super friendly... you can tell a great restaurant by the cleanliness of their bathroom.. And this bathroom was spotless. Went to Kalaveras in Redondo Beach yesterday. There was a fair nearby so parking was tough, but the vibe inside was great—fun décor and really friendly servers. We got a pitcher of margarita (not too sweet, strong and tasty). Chips and salsa came complimentary, and we also ordered guac with chips. Most in my party ordered meat dishes like tacos and fajitas and rated the food 4/5. I was the only vegetarian and had a bowl with sweet potato, greens, corns and avocado—fresh and satisfying. I’d rate it 3/5. Good spot with solid drinks and options for everyone.

Excellent service, meh food. I have no problem paying $14 for guacamole as long as it is fresh. We were served that mass produced then frozen then thawed stuff. It's sooo easy to make it fresh!! The pico de Gallo that came with guacamole was at least 3 days old (see picture posted by me) the cilantro was yellow.

Never again will I step into this establishment. I paid 50.00 is service fees to eat here. Please there are so many restaurants to choose from and I can tell you this the food is ok. Drinks are ok just don't get bottomless mimosas because they aren't coming around that fast to fill up the glasses. We had to go to the bar to ask for refills and this was casual drinks. I Paid more in service fees then 2 plates of food. Then on Top of that you charged me to pay with my card. Never ever again will I go here to eat.

Writing as we go. To start the workers are extremely rude, don't smile, or introduce themselves so we cant hold anyone accountable. We asked for a smaller table. Only for the brunette waitress to sit me and my wife at a smaller table with one chair and walked away without giving us another one. Until we had to ask. We asked for a happy hour appetizer which they advertise outside. Only for her to ask us rudely "what time it was?" Im sorry but isn't it your job to know? She stood there till we visibly had to check our phones and tell her. We did not even want to ask questions about the menu or about the food because she was visibly irritated and snapped back irritable every time. Not a good first time. And definitely our last. The food was somewhat decent. With about 1 Oz of meat per taco. Definitely not worth the $2. Upon leaving my stomach was already turning. But nice decor and music. Chef Out!

The server was great the food not at all. They brought out steak fajitas and the steak was spoiled ,you could taste it. The manager did not take it off . Then they charged at table of two 18% service charge for large parties which how when it was only two of us worst Birthday experience ever. But I can say drinks was also I will not return should have just went to Juaviers.
